Pneumatic caisson work in Japan has come into operation since 1924. Afterward, this technique of compressed air work has been widely utilized in the construction of foundation basements, shafts of the bottom tunnel shields for subway and so forth. While using this technique of compressed air work means that workers have to be exposed to hyperbaric environment, this technique has risks of not only decompression sickness (DCS) but also toxicity of poisonous gas and/or oxygen deficiency. However, this technique is independent of city construction work and the operation of compressed air work higher than 5ATA (4.0 kg/cm2G) is actually been planning recently. Accordingly unmanned caisson work is considered as a better technique for such higher pressurized work, even though workers must enter into hyperbaric working fields for maintenance or repair of unmanned operated machinery and materials. In this work, we describe the first modular, and programmable platform capable of transmitting a text message using chemical signalling – a method also known as molecular communication. This form of communication is attractive for applications where conventional wireless systems perform poorly, from nanotechnology to urban health monitoring. Using examples, we demonstrate the use of our platform as a testbed for molecular communication, and illustrate the features of these communication systems using experiments. By providing a simple and inexpensive means of performing experiments, our system fills an important gap in the molecular communication literature, where much current work is done in simulation with simplified system models. A key finding in this paper is that these systems are often nonlinear in practice, whereas current simulations and analysis often assume that the system is linear. However, as we show in this work, despite the nonlinearity, reliable communication is still possible. Furthermore, this work motivates future studies on more realistic modelling, analysis, and design of theoretical models and algorithms for these systems.  相似文献

In this work it is shown how anthropological data are among the most needed factors in ergonomical valorization of crew working spaces. Ship's working or living environment involves many unique human factors, which should be specially considered in our case as limitation of crew space. In this work we have chosen ships of different years of construction to prove this tendency. As a micro study, the work posture analysis using the pulling force experiment is performed in order to determine lumbar moment, intra-abdominal pressure as a measure of evaluating and comparing different crew work positions. As a macro-study, the "crew work posture analysis" was carried out by the use of the data collected from real cases. The most probable work postures in different spaces of a ship are classified and after some corrections of the work place the profile and its grade were determined. The "statistical analysis for real ship's spaces" is also performed, as well as another macro study, in order to show some real designed ship spaces from the point of view of the allocated volume.  相似文献

According to the Effort-Recovery model, mental or physical detachment from work is an important mechanism of work related recovery, as delayed recovery has been associated with range of negative health symptoms. In this paper, we examine whether recovery from work (in the form of mentally disengagement from work) is affected by the concept of ‘work ethic’, which refers to beliefs workers hold about their work and leisure and the effects of experiencing interruptions at work. Two indices of post-work recovery were utilized: problem solving pondering and psychological detachment. The study was conducted with 310 participants employed from diverse occupational sectors. Main effects of positive and negative appraisal of work interruption and beliefs were analysed using mediated and moderated regression analysis on problem-solving pondering and detachment. Weakened belief in wasted time as a partial mediator, reduced problem-solving pondering post work when interruptions were appraised as positive, and a high evaluation of leisure partially mediated problem-solving pondering when interruptions were appraised as positive. The results also showed that a high evaluation of centrality of work and leisure moderated the effect of negative appraisal of work interruption on elevated problem-solving pondering. Positive appraisal of work interruption was related to problem-solving pondering, and the strength of this association was further moderated by a strong belief in delay of gratification. In addition, employees'' positive appraisal of work interruption was related to work detachment, and the strength of this association was further moderated by strong beliefs in hard work and self-reliance. These findings are discussed in terms of their theoretical and practical implications for employees who are strongly influenced by such work beliefs.  相似文献

An exponential rise in patient data provides an excellent opportunity to improve the existing health care infrastructure. In the present work, a method to enable cardiovascular digital twin is proposed using inverse analysis. Conventionally, accurate analytical solutions for inverse analysis in linear problems have been proposed and used. However, these methods fail or are not efficient for nonlinear systems, such as blood flow in the cardiovascular system (systemic circulation) that involves high degree of nonlinearity. To address this, a methodology for inverse analysis using recurrent neural network for the cardiovascular system is proposed in this work, using a virtual patient database. Blood pressure waveforms in various vessels of the body are inversely calculated with the help of long short-term memory (LSTM) cells by inputting pressure waveforms from three non-invasively accessible blood vessels (carotid, femoral and brachial arteries). The inverse analysis system built this way is applied to the detection of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and its severity using neural networks.

利用同源克隆技术从六倍体普通小麦中获得了两个不同的双脱氢抗坏血酸还原酶(TaDHAR)基因的cDNA克隆。器官表达模式分析表明,这两个TaDHAR基因(暂时命名为TaDHAR1和TaDHAR2)在小麦根、茎、叶、幼穗以及开花后10d、20d和30d的种子中均有表达,为组成型表达基因。原生质体表达实验表明,两个基因的产物均可能定位在细胞质中。在细菌中表达并提纯了两个基因的重组蛋白。体外生化测定表明两个重组蛋白均具有将双脱氢抗坏血酸还原成抗坏血酸的能力,其最适pH为7.5,在37oC时的活性比25oC高,但25oC条件下pH6.0和7.0时,两个DHAR蛋白的活性显著不同。本研究的结果为进一步揭示TaDHAR基因在小麦抗坏血酸代谢中的生理作用奠定了基础。  相似文献

Mutational spectra have become increasingly important tools in generating a molecular level understanding of mutagenesis in mammalian cells. The work in this field has primarily involved the use of shuttle vector systems although some work has also been reported using endogenous cellular genes as mutational targets. In this communication we discuss the relative utility of these two approaches. We specifically focus on UV light-induced mutagenesis since this agent has been studied in both types of system. We conclude that shuttle vector and endogenous gene studies of mutagenesis are highly complementary, each possessing unique advantages.  相似文献

We propose that the use of public information about the quality of environmental resources, obtained by monitoring the sampling behaviour of others, may be a widespread social phenomenon allowing individuals to make faster, more accurate assessments of their environment. To demonstrate this (i) we define public information and distinguish it from other kinds of social information; (ii) we review empirical work demonstrating the benefits and costs of using public information to estimate food patch quality; (iii) we examine recent work showing that individuals may also be using public information to improve their estimates of the quality of such disparate environmental parameters as breeding patches, opponents and mates; and finally (iv) we suggest avenues of future work to better understand the nature of public information use and when it might be used or ignored. Such work should lead to a more complete understanding of the behaviour of individuals in social aggregations.  相似文献

Locomotor adaptation is commonly studied using split-belt treadmill walking, in which each foot is placed on a belt moving at a different speed. As subjects adapt to split-belt walking, they reduce metabolic power, but the biomechanical mechanism behind this improved efficiency is unknown. Analyzing mechanical work performed by the legs and joints during split-belt adaptation could reveal this mechanism. Because ankle work in the step-to-step transition is more efficient than hip work, we hypothesized that control subjects would reduce hip work on the fast belt and increase ankle work during the step-to-step transition as they adapted. We further hypothesized that subjects with unilateral, trans-tibial amputation would instead increase propulsive work from their intact leg on the slow belt. Control subjects reduced hip work and shifted more ankle work to the step-to-step transition, supporting our hypothesis. Contrary to our second hypothesis, intact leg work, ankle work and hip work in amputees were unchanged during adaptation. Furthermore, all subjects increased collisional energy loss on the fast belt, but did not increase propulsive work. This was possible because subjects moved further backward during fast leg single support in late adaptation than in early adaptation, compensating by reducing backward movement in slow leg single support. In summary, subjects used two strategies to improve mechanical efficiency in split-belt walking adaptation: a CoM displacement strategy that allows for less forward propulsion on the fast belt; and, an ankle timing strategy that allows efficient ankle work in the step-to-step transition to increase while reducing inefficient hip work.  相似文献

In this work the data obtained in the examination of 338 children with diarrhea, aged 5 days to 14 years, are presented. The methods used for the collection of samples and their storage till the moment of inoculation are described. The possibility of using the microscopic examination of Campylobacter-containing native feces is shown. The work resulted in the isolation of 85 C. jejuni and C. coli strains. As shown in this work, the isolation of Campylobacter depended on the age of children and the season. The etiological importance of Campylobacter for the development of acute enterocolitis and gastroenteritis in 10% of the children under examination is suggested.  相似文献

Based on existing literature and publicly available expression data-sets, a map of Parkinson’s disease (PD) has been inferred in collaborative effort with other teams in LCSB and Systems Biology Institute, Tokyo, Japan. However, due to the increased complexity of the map, human intuition is often insufficient in understanding the initiation, functional regulation, and progression of this disease. Hence, it is necessary to mine the information content of this network to make sense of this abundance complex information. To this end, current work aims to analyze the network topology and dynamics of the PD map, using Boolean modeling. Grounded on perturbation analysis, the work also aims to obtain a system level understanding of the genotype–phenotype relationships to identify key components in the disease regulation and to generate experimentally testable hypothesis for PD susceptibility and progression. Methodology includes using existing graph theoretical analysis tools, as well as to develop rigorous sophisticated analysis tools which could be vital for understanding the disease pathology and for successful quantitative modeling. In general, the major focus and contribution of this work aim at the fields of statistical inference, graph analysis, and dynamic modeling in systems biology.  相似文献
