The structure of phomenolactone, an antifungal substance isolated from the fungus Phoma lingam was established by reaction of phomenoic acid with dipyrridyl 2,2′-isulphide in the presence of triphenylphosphine (yield 90%). The growing demand for alternative strategies for plant disease management has sought a reduction in the use of fungicides via the employment of resistance inducers and foliar fertilizers, among others. Therefore, this study aimed at evaluating the following foliar fertilizers for the management of phoma leaf spot: a foliar fertilizer based on macro‐ and micronutrients (Fmm: 10% N, 4% S, B, 5% Fe and 5% Zn); one based on cobalt and molybdenum (Fcm: 2% Co and 3% Mo); manganese phosphite (FMn: 30% P2O5 and 9% Mn); and the FMn+Fmm, Fcm+Fmm and FMn+Fcm+Fmm associations compared to a boscalid fungicide and a control with no treatment. The disease severity, the chlorophyll a and b contents, the net photosynthetic rate (LPR), the phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) activity and the lignin content in leaves were assessment. Based on the severity, the area under the disease severity progress curve (AUSPC) and the efficiency of disease control in relation to untreated plants were calculated. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with eight treatments and three replications. Treatments FMn+Fmm and Fcm were the most effective in reducing the AUPSC in comparison with the control and promoted an increased activity of PAL. FMn was the treatment that promoted the highest increase in the LPR. There were no effects of the treatments on the lignin content compared to the control.  相似文献

Abdominal bristle selection lines (three high and three low) and controls were founded from a marked homozygous line to measure the contribution of sex-linked "mutations" to selection response. Two of the low lines exhibited a period of rapid response to selection in females, but not in males. There were corresponding changes in female variance, in heritabilities in females, in the sex ratio (a deficiency of females) and in fitness, as well as the appearance of a mutant phenotype in females of one line. All of these changes were due to bb alleles (partial deficiencies for the rRNA tandon) in the X chromosomes of these lines, while the Y chromosomes remained wild-type bb+. We argue that the bb alleles arose by unequal crossing over in the rRNA tandon.—A prediction of this hypothesis is that further changes can occur in the rRNA tandon as selection is continued. This has now been shown to occur.—Our minimum estimate of the rate of occurrence of changes at the rRNA tandon is 3 x 10-4. As this is substantially higher than conventional mutation rates, the questions of the mechanisms and rates of origin of new quantitative genetic variation require careful re-examination.  相似文献

Jambadostrobus was established to accommodate fossils consisting of several multiovulate elliptical–ovate fructifications attached to the midline of glossopterid leaves. Two species have been assigned to the genus: J. pretiosus (the type species) and J. hillii from the Late Permian of India and Early Permian of Australia, respectively. Re-investigation of the original specimens reveals that only solitary fructifications are attached to the subtending leaf in J. pretiosus, hence the species is transferred to Plumsteadia, which was founded on equivalent characters. The putative reproductive organs constituting the single Australian specimen of J. hillii are re-interpreted to constitute a broad area of preservational damage on the leaf, hence Jambadostrobus is considered to be a nomen illegitimum.  相似文献

Bacterial nanocells 0.2-0.3 micron in size and hundreds of a cubic micron in volume have been revealed in natural habitats and obtained in pure cultures. The taxonomic analysis of naturally occurring nanobacteria showed that they belong to the known taxa of the kingdom Eubacteria. The results of the cytological investigation of nanocells suggest that they are universally formed in response to stress impacts.  相似文献
