A new chemiluminescence (CL) reaction between luminol and diperiodatoargentate {K2 [Ag (H2IO6) (OH) 2]} was observed in alkaline medium. The CL intensity could be greatly enhanced by amikacin sulfate. Therefore a new CL method for the determination of amikacin sulfate was built by combining with flow injection technology. A possible mechanism of the CL reaction was proposed via the investigation of the CL kinetic characteristics, the CL spectrum and the UV absorption spectra of some related substance. The concentration range of linear response was 5.1 × 10?8 to 5.1 × 10?6 mol L?1 with a detection limit of 1.9 × 10?8 mol L?1 (3σ). The proposed method had good reproducibility with a relative standard deviation of 2.8% (n = 7) for 5.1 × 10?7 mol L?1 of amikacin sulfate. ABSTRACT

This study evaluated visual sensitivity to luminance contrast during a daily period. Twenty-eight young male adults (M = 24.85; SD = 2.4) with normal color vision and 20/20 visual acuity participated in this study. The circadian pattern was assessed using the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and a sleep diary. To measure the luminance contrast, we used version 11.0 of the Metropsis software with sine-element frequency stimuli for spatial frequencies of 0.2, 0.6, 1, 3.1, 6.1, 8.8, 13.2, and 15.6 cycles per degree of visual angle (cpd). The stimuli were presented on a 19-inch color cathode ray tube (CRT) video monitor with a resolution of 1024 × 786 pixels, an update rate of 100 Hz, and a photopic luminance of 39.6 cd/m2. There was a significant difference in KSS on the weekdays [χ2(2) = 20.27; p = .001] and in the luminance contrast for frequencies of 13.2 cpd [χ2(2) = 8.27; p = .001] and 15.6 cpd [χ2(2) = 13.72; p = .041]. The results showed greater stability of the measurement during the afternoon and a reduction in the visual sensitivity in the high spatial frequencies during the night.  相似文献

The square planar Pt(II) complexes of the type [Pt(Ln)(Cl2)] (where Ln = L1?3 = thiophene-2-carboxamide derivatives and L4?6 = thiophene-2-carbothioamide derivatives) have been synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and various spectroscopic studies. MIC method was employed to inference the antibacterial potency of complexes in reference to free ligands and metal salt. Characteristic binding constant (Kb) and binding mode of complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) were determined using absorption titration (0.76–1.61 × 105 M?1), hydrodynamic chain length assay and fluorescence quenching analysis, deducing the partial intercalative mode of binding. Molecular docking calculation displayed free energy of binding in the range of –260.06 to –219.63 kJmol?1. The nuclease profile of complexes towards pUC19 DNA shows that the complexes cleave DNA more efficiently compared to their respective metal salt. Cytotoxicity profile of the complexes on the brine shrimp shows that all the complex exhibit noteworthy cytotoxic activity with LC50 values ranging from 7.87 to 15.94 μg/mL. The complexes have been evaluated for cell proliferation potential in human colon carcinoma cells (HCT 116) and IC50 value of complexes by MTT assay (IC50 = 125–1000 μg/mL).  相似文献

The carbon-flux via algal bloom events involves bacteria as an important mediator. The present study, carried out during the spring inter-monsoon month of April 2008 onboard CRV Sagar Manjusha-06 in the Eastern Arabian Sea, addresses the bloom-specific flow of carbon to bacteria via chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM). Eleven stations monitored were located in the coastal, shelf and open-ocean areas off Ratnagiri (16°59′N, 73°17′E), Goa (15°30′N, 73°48′E) and Bhatkal (13°58′N, 74°33′E) coasts. Visible bloom of “saw-dust” color in the Ratnagiri shelf were microscopically examined and the presence of cyanobacteria Trichodesmium erythraeum and T. thieabautii with cell concentrations as high as 3.05 × 106 trichomes L−1 was recorded. Total bacterial counts (TBC) varied between 94.09 × 108 cells L−1 in the bloom to 1.34 × 108 cells L−1 in the non-bloom area. Chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) concentrations averaged 2.27 ± 3.02 m−1 (absorption coefficient 325 nm) in the bloom to 0.28 ± 0.07 m−1 in the non-bloom waters respectively. CDOM composition varied from a higher molecular size with lower aromaticity in the bloom to lower molecular size and increased aromaticity in the non-bloom areas respectively. Strong positive relationship of TBC with Chlorophyll a (R 2 = 0.65, p < 0.01) and CDOM concentrations (R 2 = 0.8373, p = 0.01) in the bloom area indicated hydrolysis and/or uptake of CDOM by bacteria. Absorption by mycosporine-like amino acid palythene (λ max = 360 nm) was recorded in the filtrate of bloom. Morphotypes of Trichodesmium-associated bacteria revealed a higher frequency of Gram-positive rods. The role of bacteria in relation to changing CDOM nature and as a factor in affecting oxygen content of the water column is discussed in context of the Arabian Sea.  相似文献

A sampling method is described to determine accurately the number of fast myotomal muscle fibres (NF) in a large flatfish species, the Atlantic halibut Hippoglossus hippoglossus. An unusual feature of the fast myotomal muscle is the presence of internalized strips of slow muscle fibres. In fish of 1·5–3·5 kg (n = 24), the total cross‐sectional area (ATC) of fast muscle was 18% greater in the dorsal than ventral myotomal compartments (P < 0·05), whereas there was no significant difference between left‐ and right‐hand sides of the body. Due the bilateral asymmetry, muscle blocks (5 × 5 × 5 mm) were prepared to systematically sample each myotomal quadrant (dorsal, ventral, left‐ and right‐side) and the diameters of 150 fast fibres measured per block. Smooth non‐parametric probability functions were fitted to a minimum of 800 measurements of fibre diameter per quadrant (n = 5). There were no significant differences in the distribution of muscle fibre diameters between myotomal compartments and therefore NF could be estimated from a single quadrant. The number of blocks required to estimate NF with a repeatability of ±2·5% increased from six at 300 g body mass to 17 at 96·5 kg, caused by variation within and between blocks. Gompertz curves were fitted to measurements of fibre number and fork length (LF). The estimated final fibre number was 8·96 × 105 (7·99–9·94 × 105, 95% CI) for males and 1·73 × 106 (1·56–1·90 × 106, 95% CI) for female fish. The estimated LF for cessation of fibre recruitment in the fast muscle of female fish (1775 mm) was almost twice that in males (810 mm), reflecting their greater ultimate body size.  相似文献

Proteomic approaches have unique advantages in the identification of biological pathways that influence physical frailty, a multifactorial geriatric syndrome predictive of adverse health outcomes in older adults. To date, proteomic studies of frailty are scarce, and few evaluated prefrailty as a separate state or examined predictors of incident frailty. Using plasma proteins measured by 4955 SOMAmers in the Atherosclerosis Risk in Community study, we identified 134 and 179 proteins cross-sectionally associated with prefrailty and frailty, respectively, after Bonferroni correction (p < 1 × 10−5) among 3838 older adults aged ≥65 years, adjusting for demographic and physiologic factors and chronic diseases. Among them, 23 (17%) and 82 (46%) were replicated in the Cardiovascular Health Study using the same models (FDR p < 0.05). Notably, higher odds of prefrailty and frailty were observed with higher levels of growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15; pprefrailty = 1 × 10−15, pfrailty = 2 × 10−19), transgelin (TAGLN; pprefrailty = 2 × 10−12, pfrailty = 6 × 10−22), and insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2 (IGFBP2; pprefrailty = 5 × 10−15, pfrailty = 1 × 10−15) and with a lower level of growth hormone receptor (GHR, pprefrailty = 3 × 10−16, pfrailty = 2 × 10−18). Longitudinally, we identified 4 proteins associated with incident frailty (p < 1 × 10−5). Higher levels of triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM1), TAGLN, and heart and adipocyte fatty-acid binding proteins predicted incident frailty. Differentially regulated proteins were enriched in pathways and upstream regulators related to lipid metabolism, angiogenesis, inflammation, and cell senescence. Our findings provide a set of plasma proteins and biological mechanisms that were dysregulated in both the prodromal and the clinical stage of frailty, offering new insights into frailty etiology and targets for intervention.  相似文献

The relationships of total length (Lt) to girth at opercula (Gope) and maximum girths (Gmax) were estimated for 39 and 22 fish species, respectively, captured off the Portuguese coast between Póvoa do Varzim and Santo André (38°05′54′′–41°15′36′′N and 8°46′54′′–9°31′13′′W). The data were collected between April 1994 and September 1995. The best‐represented family was Sparidae (five species), followed by Soleidae and Triglidae (four species each). Gope and Gmax were found to increase linearly with length for all species, all r2 values being statistically significant (P < 0.01) and higher than 0.81. When Gope and Gmax were plotted against length for all species combined, three groups were identified, corresponding to general girth–length relationships: G1 = 1.408 + 0.238 ×Lt, G2 = 2.455 + 0.328 × Lt and G3 = ?0.72 + 0.60 × Lt for opercula girth and G1 = 3.402 + 0.195 × Lt, G2 = 2.211 + 0.374 × Lt and G3 = ‐2.514 + 0.717 × Lt for maximum girth. These groups correspond to different body shapes of fishes: G1‐round, G2‐torpedo‐form and G3‐compressed body.  相似文献

We studied interaction of the lectin from the bark of Golden Rain shrub (Laburnum anagyroides, LABA) with a number of basic fucose-containing carbohydrate antigens by changes in its tryptophan fluorescence. The strongest LABA binding was observed for the trisaccharide H of type 6 [α-L-Fucp-(1-2)-β-D-Galp-(1-4)-D-Glc, K a = 4.2 × 103 M?1]. The following antigens were bound with a weaker affinity: H-disaccharide α-L-Fucp-(1-2)-D-Gal, a glucoanalogue of tetrasaccharide Ley α-L-Fucp-(1-2)-β-D-Galp-(1-4)-[α-L-Fucp-(1-3)]-D-Glc, and 6-fucosyl-N-acetylglucosamine, a fragment of core of the N-glycans family (K a 1.1?1.7 × 103 M?1). The lowest binding was observed for L-fucose (K a = 2.7 × 102 M?1) and trisaccharide Lea, (β-Galp-(1-3)-[α-L-Fucp-(1-4)]-GlcNAc (K a = 6.4 × 102 M?1). The Led, Lea, and Lex pentasaccharides and Leb hexasaccharide were not bound to LABA.  相似文献

Summary The ability of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to accumulate Cd(II) ions from wastewater industries was experimentally investigated and mathematically modelled. From the potentiometric titration and non-ideal competitive analysis (NICA) model, it was found that the biomass contains three acidic sites. The values of proton binding (pK i =1.66±3.26×10−3, 1.92±1.63×10−4 and 2.16±3.79×10−4) and binding constant of cadmium metal ions (pK M1=1.99±2.45×10−3 and pK M2=1.67±4.08×10−3) on the whole surface of biomass showed that protonated functional groups and biosorption of Cd(II) ions could be attributed to a monodentate binding to one acidic site, mainly the carboxylic group. From the isothermal sorption experimental data and Langmuir model, it was also found that the value of Langmuir equilibrium (pK f) constant is 2.04±2.1×10−5 suggesting that the carboxyl group is the main active binding site. In addition, results showed that the maximum cadmium capacity (q max) and affinity of biomass towards cadmium metal ions (b) at pH 5.1 and 20 min were 96.5±0.06 mg/g and 3.40×10−3± 2.10×10−3, respectively. Finally, interfering metal ions such as Pb(II), Cu(II), Cr(III), Zn(II), Fe(II), Mn(II), Ca(II) and Mg(II) inhibited Cd(II) uptake. Comparing the biosorption of Cd(II) by various Pseudomonas isolates from contaminated environment samples (soil and sewage treatment plant) showed that maximum capacities and equilibrium times were different, indicating that there was a discrepancy in the chemical composition between biomasses of different strains.  相似文献

A flow injection (FI) methodology using the acidic potassium permanganate (KMnO4)–rhodamine-B (Rh-B) reaction with chemiluminescence (CL) detection was established to determine acetochlor and cartap-HCl pesticides in freshwater samples. Experimental parameters were optimized, and Chelex-100 cationic exchanger mini column and solid-phase extraction (SPE) were used as phase separation techniques. Linear calibration curves were observed for the standard solutions of acetochlor and cartap-HCl over the ranges 0.005–2.0 mg L−1 [y = 1155.8x + 57.551, R2 = 0.9999 (n = 8)] and 0.005–1.0 mg L−1 [y = 979.76x + 14.491, R2 = 0.9998 (n = 8)] with LODs and LOQs of 7.5 × 10−4 and 8.0 × 10−4 mg L−1 (3σ blank) and 2.5 × 10−3 and 2.7 × 10−3 mg L−1 (10σ blank), respectively, with an injection throughput of 140 h−1. These methods were used to estimate acetochlor and cartap-HCl with or without the SPE procedure, respectively, in spiked freshwater samples. Results obtained were not significantly different at a 95% confidence level to those of other reported methods. Recoveries for acetochlor and cartap-HCl were obtained over the ranges 93–112% (RSD = 1.9–3.6%) and 98–109% (RSD = 1.7–3.8%), respectively. Age and growth estimates for sand tiger sharks, Carcharias taurus, in the western North Atlantic were derived from 96 vertebral centra collected from sharks ranging from 94 to 277 cm total length (TL), and compared to previously published age and growth data. The oldest female and male sand tiger sharks aged in this study were 17 and 15 years of age, respectively. von Bertalanffy growth parameters derived from vertebral length-at-age data are L = 295.8 cm TL, k = 0.11 year−1, and t 0 = −4.2 years for females, and L = 249.5 cm TL, k = 0.16 year−1, and t 0 = −3.4 years for males. Sexual maturity is estimated to be 9–10 years for females and 6–7 years for males. Weight-to-length relationships determined for female and male sand tiger sharks in the western North Atlantic are; W = 1.3 × 10−4 × L 2.4 (r 2 = 0.84, n = 55) and W = 9.0 × 10−5 × L 2.5 (r 2 = 0.84, n = 47), respectively, and 7.9 × 10−5 × L 2.5 (r 2 = 0.84) for the sexes combined. Our results show sand tigers possess a slower rate of growth than previously thought. This information is crucial for accurately assessing this population’s ability to recover, and further justifies the need for this species to be fully protected.  相似文献

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is a proglucagon-derived hormone with cellular protective actions. We hypothesized that GLP-1 would protect the endothelium from injury during inflammation. Our aims were to determine the: (1) effect of GLP-1 on basal microvascular permeability, (2) effect of GLP-1 on increased microvascular permeability induced by lipopolysaccaride (LPS), (3) involvement of the GLP-1 receptor in GLP-1 activity, and (4) involvement of the cAMP/PKA pathway in GLP-1 activity. Microvascular permeability (Lp) of rat mesenteric post-capillary venules was measured in vivo. First, the effect of GLP-1 on basal Lp was measured. Second, after systemic LPS injection, Lp was measured after subsequent perfusion with GLP-1. Thirdly, Lp was measured after LPS injection and perfusion with GLP-1 + GLP-1 receptor antagonist. Lastly, Lp was measured after LPS injection and perfusion with GLP-1 + inhibitors of the cAMP/PKA pathway. Results are presented as mean area under the curve (AUC) ± SEM. GLP-1 had no effect on Lp (AUC: baseline = 27 ± 1.4, GLP-1 = 1 ± 0.4, p = 0.08). LPS increased Lp two-fold (AUC: LPS = 54 ± 1.7, p < 0.0001). GLP-1 reduced the LPS increase in Lp by 75% (AUC: LPS + GLP-1 = 34 ± 1.5, p < 0.0001). GLP-1 antagonism reduced the effects of GLP-1 by 60% (AUC: LPS + GLP-1 + antagonist = 46 ± 2.0, p < 0.001). The cAMP synthesis inhibitor reduced the effects of GLP-1 by 60% (AUC: LPS + GLP-1 + cAMP inhibitor = 46 ± 1.5, p < 0.0001). The PKA inhibitor reduced the effects of GLP-1 by 100% (AUC: LPS + GLP-1 + PKA inhibitor = 56 ± 1.5, p < 0.0001). GLP-1 attenuates the increase in microvascular permeability induced by LPS. GLP-1 may protect the endothelium during inflammation, thus decreasing third-space fluid loss.  相似文献

A novel flow injection-chemiluminescence (FI–CL) approach is proposed for the assay of pioglitazone hydrochloride (PG-HCl) based on its enhancing influence on the tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II)–silver(III) complex (Ru(bipy)32+-DPA) CL system in sulfuric acid medium. The possible CL reaction mechanism is discussed with CL and ultraviolet (UV) spectra. The optimum experimental conditions were found as: Ru(bipy)32+, 5.0 × 10−5 M; sulfuric acid, 1.0 × 10−3 M; diperiodatoargentate(III) (DPA), 1.0 × 10−4 M; potassium hydroxide, 1.0 × 10−3 M; flow rate 4.0 ml min−1 for each flow stream and sample loop volume, 180 μl. The CL intensity of PG-HCl was linear in the range of 1.0 × 10−3 to 5.0 mg L−1 (R2 = 0.9998, n = 10) with limit of detection [LOD, signal-to-noise ratio (S/N= 3] of 2.2 × 10−4 mg L−1, limit of quantification (LOQ, S/N = 10) of 6.7 × 10−4 mg L−1, relative standard deviation (RSD) of 1.0 to 3.3% and sampling rate of 106 h−1. The methodology was satisfactorily used to quantify PG-HCl in pharmaceutical tablets with recoveries ranging from 93.17 to 102.77 and RSD from 1.9 to 2.8%.  相似文献

This study was performed to evaluate the effective concentration of the anaesthetic 2‐phenoxyethanol (2‐PE) on juvenile (1.3 ± 0.03 g) meagre (Argyrosomus regius, Asso, 1801) and establish the LC50 (through a series of exposure concentrations) and LT50 of 2‐PE at 20 ± 0.5°C, salinity 38 g × L?1, pH 8.2–8.4 and dissolved oxygen >7 mg × L?1. The induction time decreased and the recovery time increased with increasing concentrations. Conflicting results were found only in recovery time and there were no significant differences among the recovery times from all concentrations. The most suitable concentration of 2‐PE was 0.3 ml × L?1 for about or over 15 min exposure time. The LC50 and LT50 for the 3–60 min exposure periods were estimated for juvenile meagre. The toxic effect of 2‐PE on survival rates of A. regius juveniles increased depending on the exposure period. In addition, 2‐phenoxyethanol LT50 (median survival time) values, slope function (S) and lower and upper 95% confidence limits were estimated.  相似文献

A highly sensitive and simple spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of tiopronin based on its inhibitory effect on the hemoglobin‐catalyzed reaction of H2O2 and l ‐tyrosine was developed. The concentration of tiopronin is linear with decreased fluorescence (ΔF) of the system under the optimal experimental conditions. The calibration graph is linear in the range 1.23 × 10?8 to 3.06 × 10?5 mol L?1 with a detection limit of 6.13 × 10?9 mol L?1. The relative standard deviation was 4.38% for 11 determinations of 6.13 × 10?6 mol L?1. This method can be used for the determination of tiopronin in pharmaceuticals with satisfactory results. The objective of this work was to determine (1) the effect of rotational speed (N) and lifters on the oxygen transfer coefficient (k L) of a mineral solution and (2) the effect of solids concentration of a slurry soil-mineral solution on k L, at a fixed value N (0.25 s−1); in both cases the treatment was carried out in an aerated rotating drum reactor (RDR) operated at atmospheric pressure. First, the k L for the mineral solution was in the range 6.38 × 10−4–7.69 × 10−4 m s−1, which was of the same order of magnitude as those calculated for closed rotating drums supplied with air flow. In general, k L of RDR implemented with lifters was superior or equal to that of RDR without lifters. For RDR implemented with lifters, k L increased with N in the range 6.65 × 10−4–10.51 × 10−4 m s−1, whereas k L of RDR without lifters first increased with N up to N = 0.102 s−1, and decreased beyond this point. Second, regarding soil slurry experiments, an abrupt fall of k L (ca. 50%) at low values of the solid concentration (C v) and an asymptotic pattern at high C v were observed at N = 0.25 s−1. These results suggest that mass transfer phenomena were commanded by the slurry properties and a semi-empirical equation of the form Sh = f(Re, Sc) seems to corroborate this finding.  相似文献

In this review we collected data on the length at maturity (Lm) and maximum reported total length (Lmax) of 565 Mediterranean marine fish stocks, representing 150 species, 68 families, 24 orders and 3 classes. Overall, Lm ranged from 2 cm, for the males of the toothcarp Aphanius fasciatus, to 350 cm, for the females of the bluntnose sixgill shark Hexanchus griseus. Lm was positively linearly related with Lmax for Actinopterygii (logLm = ?0.123 + 0.92 × logLmax; r 2 = 0.87, n = 471, P < 0.001) and Elasmobranchii (logLm = ?0.008 + 0.922 × logLmax; r 2 = 0.90, n = 92, P < 0.001) with the two slopes being significantly different (ANCOVA: F = 2,904, P < 0.001). The reproductive load (Lm/Lmax) ranged between 0.23 (sand steenbras Lithognathus mormyrus) and 0.94 (angular roughshark Oxynotus centrina and thornback ray Raja clavata). The mean Lm/Lmax was significantly (ANOVA, F = 34.14, P < 0.001) lower for Actinopterygii (mean = 0.59, SD = 0.122, n = 471) compared to Elasmobranchii (mean = 0.70, SD = 0.132, n = 92) and Holocephali (mean = 0.77, SD = 0.077, n = 2). The Lm/Lmax was significantly (ANOVA, F = 43.80, P < 0.001) higher for species providing some form of parental care, i.e. guarders, bearers, nesters (mean Lm/Lmax ± SD = 0.68 ± 0.141, n = 111) compared to non-guarders (mean Lm/Lmax ± SD = 0.59 ± 0.123, n = 454). The mean Lm/Lmax displayed a remarkable constancy with longitude (northern and southern Mediterranean coastline: ANOVA, F = 0.01, P = 0.93), latitude (western, central and eastern regions: ANOVA, F = 1.25, P = 0.29) and habitat (ANOVA, F = 0.85, P = 0.51).  相似文献

The study of the rhizobial root nodules of the monocotyledonous tree Roystonea regia revealed that the Rhizobium sp. isolated from the root nodules produced high amounts (45.6 μg/ml) of indole acetic acid (IAA) from L‐tryptophan supplemented basal medium. The IAA production reached its optimum using 3 mg/ml of L‐tryptophan. The preferred carbon and nitrogen sources were glucose and KNO3 and the optimum concentrations 1% and 0.02%, respectively. FeSO4 × 7 H2O was found to be the only metal ion that increased IAA production. An optimum IAA production was also achieved when the basal medium was supplemented with glucose (1%), FeSO4 × 7 H2O (10 μg/ml), KNO3 (0.02%) as well as EDTA (5 μg/ml) and L‐tryptophan (3 mg/ml). The possible role of IAA production in the monocotyledonous tree‐Rhizobium symbiosis is discussed. Hormone production is shown to be the beneficial aspect of this symbiosis as shown earlier in dicotyledonous plants.  相似文献

The present study investigated whether increasing morning rectal temperatures (Trec) to evening levels, or increasing morning and evening Trec to an “optimal” level (38.5°C), resulting in increased muscle temperatures (Tm), would offset diurnal variation in repeated sprint (RS) performance in a causal manner. Twelve trained males underwent five sessions [age (mean ± SD) 21.0 ± 2.3 years, maximal oxygen consumption (V?O2max) 60.0 ± 4.4 mL.kg–1 min–1, height 1.79 ± 0.06 m, body mass 78.2 ± 11.8 kg]. These included control morning (M, 07:30 h) and evening (E, 17:30 h) sessions (5-min warm-up), and three further sessions consisting of a warm-up morning trial (ME, in 39–40°C water) until Trec reached evening levels; two “optimal” trials in the morning and evening (M38.5 and E38.5, in 39–40°C water) respectively, until Trec reached 38.5°C. All sessions included 3 × 3-s task-specific warm-up sprints, thereafter 10 × 3-s RS with 30-s recoveries were performed a non-motorised treadmill. Trec and Tm measurements were taken at the start of the protocol and following the warm-up periods. Values for Trec and Tm at rest were higher in the evening compared to morning values (0.48°C and 0.69°C, p < 0.0005). RS performance was lower (7.8–8.3%) in the M for distance covered (DC; p = 0.002), average power (AP; p = 0.029) and average velocity (AV; p = 0.002). Increasing Trec in the morning to evening values or optimal values (38.5°C) did not increase RS performance to evening levels (p = 1.000). However, increasing Trec in the evening to “optimal” level through a passive warm-up significantly reduced DC (p = 0.008), AP (p < 0.0005) and AV (p = 0.007) to values found in the M condition (6.0–6.9%). Diurnal variation in Trec and Tm is not wholly accountable for time-of-day oscillations in RS performance on a non-motorised treadmill; the exact mechanism(s) for a causal link between central temperature and human performance are still unclear and require more research.  相似文献

The main objective of this study was to investigate the population structure, length–weight relationship (LWR) and growth of white seabream, Diplodus sargus sargus (L., 1758) in Beymelek Lagoon, Turkey. Samples were collected by gill‐ and trammel nets of various mesh sizes, February 2006 to January 2007. A total of 355 specimens (51 males; 34 females; 270 unidentified) were collected. Male to female ratio was 1.50 : 1. Ages ranged from 0 to 3 years; about 70% were juveniles. Most fish were between 13 and 16 cm in total length and below 90 g in weight. The LWR of all individuals was W = 0.0140 × L3.1028. The von Bertalanffy growth equation was calculated as Lt = 39.9 × [1 – exp(?0.268 × (t + 1.753)] and the growth performance index (Φ′) was 6.056.  相似文献
