This study determines the effects of short-term isokinetic training on rate of velocity development (RVD) and force. Three groups were pre- and posttested for knee extension RVD and force at 1.04 (slow) and 4.18 rad.s(-1) (fast) on a Kin-Com dynamometer. The slow and fast groups completed 2 days of velocity-specific training, whereas the control group did not train. Four-way analysis of variance results demonstrated significant (p < 0.05) decreases in RVD between pre- and posttests for the slow group at the slow velocity (RVD-1.25 +/- 0.04 degrees vs. 1.08 +/- 0.03 degrees ) and for the fast group at the fast velocity (RVD-14.24 +/- 0.33 degrees vs. 13.59 +/- 0.29 degrees ). Force exhibited no significant differences between testing days for any group. These results demonstrate that short-term isokinetic training results in velocity-specific RVD improvements. These acute RVD improvements may serve to offset strength deficits in power environments on the basis of the mutable relationship between force and velocity.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the acute effects of static stretching on peak torque (PT) and the joint angle at PT during maximal, voluntary, eccentric isokinetic muscle actions of the leg extensors at 60 and 180 degrees x s(-1) for the stretched and unstretched limbs in women. Thirteen women (mean age +/- SD = 20.8 +/- 0.8 yr; weight +/- SD = 63.3 +/- 9.5 kg; height +/- SD = 165.9 +/- 7.9 cm) volunteered to perform separate maximal, voluntary, eccentric isokinetic muscle actions of the leg extensors with the dominant and nondominant limbs on a Cybex 6000 dynamometer at 60 and 180 degrees x s(-1). PT (Nm) and the joint angle at PT (degrees) were recorded by the dynamometer software. Following the initial isokinetic assessments, the dominant leg extensors were stretched (mean stretching time +/- SD = 21.2 +/- 2.0 minutes) using 1 unassisted and 3 assisted static stretching exercises. After the stretching (4.3 +/- 1.4 minutes), the isokinetic assessments were repeated. The statistical analyses indicated no changes (p > 0.05) from pre- to poststretching for PT or the joint angle at PT. These results indicated that static stretching did not affect PT or the joint angle at PT of the leg extensors during maximal, voluntary, eccentric isokinetic muscle actions at 60 and 180 degrees x s(-1) in the stretched or unstretched limbs in women. In conjunction with previous studies, these findings suggested that static stretching may affect torque production during concentric, but not eccentric, muscle actions.  相似文献

Previous studies have demonstrated increases in peak torque (PT) and decreases in acceleration time (ACC) after only 2 days of resistance training, and other studies have reported improvements in isokinetic performance after 5 days of creatine supplementation. Consequently, there may be a combined benefit of creatine supplementation and short-term resistance training for eliciting rapid increases in muscle strength, which may be important for short-term rehabilitation and return-to-play for previously injured athletes. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to examine the effects of 3 days of isokinetic resistance training combined with 8 days of creatine monohydrate supplementation on PT, mean power output (MP), ACC, surface electromyography (EMG), and mechanomyography (MMG) of the vastus lateralis muscle during maximal concentric isokinetic leg extension muscle actions. Twenty-five men (mean age +/- SD = 21 +/- 3 years, stature = 177 +/- 6 cm, and body mass = 80 +/- 12 kg) volunteered to participate in this 9-day, double-blind, placebo-controlled study and were randomly assigned to either the creatine (CRE; n = 13) or placebo (PLA; n = 12) group. The CRE group ingested the treatment drink (280 kcal; 68 g carbohydrate; 10.5 g creatine), whereas the PLA group received an isocaloric placebo (70 g carbohydrate). Two servings per day (morning and afternoon) were administered in the laboratory on days 1-6, with only 1 serving on days 7-8. Before (pre; day 1) and after (post; day 9) the resistance training, maximal voluntary concentric isokinetic leg extensions at 30, 150, and 270 degrees x s(-1) were performed on a calibrated Biodex System 3 dynamometer. Three sets of 10 repetitions at 150 degrees x s(-1) were performed on days 3, 5, and 7. Peak torque increased (p = 0.005; eta(2) = 0.296), whereas ACC decreased (p < 0.001; eta(2) = 0.620), from pretraining to posttraining for both the CRE and PLA groups at each velocity (30, 150, and 270 degrees x s(-1)). Peak torque increased by 13% and 6%, whereas ACC decreased by 42% and 34% for the CRE and PLA groups, respectively, but these differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). There were no changes in MP, EMG, or MMG amplitude; however, EMG median frequency (MDF) increased, and MMG MDF increased at 30 degrees x s(-1), from pretraining to posttraining for both the CRE and PLA groups. These results indicated that 3 days of isokinetic resistance training was sufficient to elicit small, but significant, improvements in peak strength (PT) and ACC for both the CRE and PLA groups. Although the greater relative improvements in PT and ACC for the CRE group were not statistically significant, these findings may be useful for rehabilitation or strength and conditioning professionals who may need to rapidly increase the strength of a patient or athlete within 9 days.  相似文献

For many sporting activities, initial speed rather than maximal speed would be considered of greater importance to successful performance. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between strength and power and measures of first-step quickness (5-m time), acceleration (10-m time), and maximal speed (30-m time). The maximal strength (3 repetition maximum [3RM]), power (30-kg jump squat, countermovement, and drop jumps), isokinetic strength measures (hamstring and quadriceps peak torques and ratios at 60 degrees .s(-1) and 300 degrees .s(-1)) and 5-m, 10-m, and 30-m sprint times of 26 part-time and full-time professional rugby league players (age 23.2 +/- 3.3 years) were measured. To examine the importance of the strength and power measures on sprint performance, a correlational approach and a comparison between means of the fastest and slowest players was used. The correlations between the 3RM, drop jump, isokinetic strength measures, and the 3 measures of sport speed were nonsignificant. Correlations between the jump squat (height and relative power output) and countermovement jump height and the 3 speed measures were significant (r = -0.43 to -0.66, p < 0.05). The squat and countermovement jump heights as well as squat jump relative power output were the only variables found to be significantly greater in the fast players. It was suggested that improving the power to weight ratio as well as plyometric training involving countermovement and loaded jump-squat training may be more effective for enhancing sport speed in elite players.  相似文献

A variety of resistance training interventions are used to improve field sport acceleration (e.g., free sprinting, weights, plyometrics, resisted sprinting). The effects these protocols have on acceleration performance and components of sprint technique have not been clearly defined in the literature. This study assessed 4 common protocols (free sprint training [FST], weight training [WT], plyometric training [PT], and resisted sprint training [RST]) for changes in acceleration kinematics, power, and strength in field sport athletes. Thirty-five men were divided into 4 groups (FST: n = 9; WT: n = 8; PT: n = 9; RST: n = 9) matched for 10-m velocity. Training involved two 60-minute sessions per week for 6 weeks. After the interventions, paired-sample t-tests identified significant (p ≤ 0.05) within-group changes. All the groups increased the 0- to 5-m and 0- to 10-m velocity by 9-10%. The WT and PT groups increased the 5- to 10-m velocity by approximately 10%. All the groups increased step length for all distance intervals. The FST group decreased 0- to 5-m flight time and step frequency in all intervals and increased 0- to 5-m and 0- to 10-m contact time. Power and strength adaptations were protocol specific. The FST group improved horizontal power as measured by a 5-bound test. The FST, PT, and RST groups all improved reactive strength index derived from a 40-cm drop jump, indicating enhanced muscle stretch-shortening capacity during rebound from impacts. The WT group increased absolute and relative strength measured by a 3-repetition maximum squat by approximately 15%. Step length was the major limiting sprint performance factor for the athletes in this study. Correctly administered, each training protocol can be effective in improving acceleration. To increase step length and improve acceleration, field sport athletes should develop specific horizontal and reactive power.  相似文献

To achieve maximal force output, clinicians and coaches have been experimenting with upper extremity plyometric exercises for years, without sufficient scientific validation of this training method. The goal of this study was to examine the effects of an 8-week course of high volume upper extremity plyometric training on the isokinetic strength and throwing velocity of a group of intercollegiate baseball players. Twenty-four Division I collegiate baseball players (age: 19.7 +/- 1.3 years; height: 183.9 +/- 5.9 cm; mass: 90.7 +/- 10.5 kg) were recruited to participate in this study. Throwing velocity, isokinetic peak torque, isokinetic functional strength ratios, and time to peak torque were measured pre- and posttraining. Subjects were rank-ordered according to concentric internal rotation (IR) strength and were assigned randomly to either the plyometric training group (PLY) or the control group (CON). Training consisted of 6 upper extremity plyometric exercises ("Ballistic Six") performed twice per week for 8 weeks. Subjects assigned to CON performed regular off-season strength and conditioning activities, but did not perform plyometric activities. PLY demonstrated significant increases (p < 0.05) in throwing velocity following 8 weeks of training when compared with CON (83.15 mph [pre] vs. 85.15 mph [post]). There were no statistically significant differences in any of the isokinetic strength measurements between PLY and CON groups pre- to posttraining. Statistically significant differences were seen within PLY for concentric IR and eccentric external rotation (ER) isokinetic strength at 180 degrees x s(-1) and 300 degrees x s(-1); and within CON for eccentric ER isokinetic strength at 300 degrees x s(-1) and concentric IR isokinetic strength at 180 degrees x s(-1). The Ballistic Six training protocol can be a beneficial supplement to a baseball athlete's off-season conditioning by improving functional performance and strengthening the rotator cuff musculature.  相似文献

Blood lactate concentration and the activities of plasma LDH and CK were determined in 13 well-trained middle distance runners after a 400-m sprint. It was found that there is a significant relationship between mean velocity in the 400-m sprint and plasma CK activity (r = -0.56, P less than 0.05), but the mean sprint velocity did not correlate with peak blood lactate concentration (r = -0.09) or plasma LDH activity (r = -0.40). There was a significant negative correlation between mean sprint velocity and H type LDH isozyme activity (r = -0.66, P less than 0.05), and a significant positive correlation with M type LDH isozyme activity (r = 0.66, P less than 0.05). These results suggest that the magnitude of enzyme efflux from tissue into blood may be depressed by training, and that in well-trained sprinters plasma CK and LDH isozyme activities may be better indicators of physical training and/or physical performance than peak blood lactate or plasma LDH activities.  相似文献

Falls may occur because of a deficiency in the ability to rapidly step in the desired direction. Previous models developed to predict rapid step ability have been based on balance, video analysis, or uniplanar isokinetic performance. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effects of multiplanar velocity-spectrum training of the hip. Seven males (23.14 years) and 16 females (23.75 years) were tested for peak torque, peak power, and rate of velocity development and on rapid step test (RST) measurements. Participants in the training group went through 8 training sessions over 4 weeks, consisting of unilateral hip flexion/extension and hip abduction/adduction of each leg, while the control group maintained regular activity throughout the 4-week span. Exercises were performed on a Biodex System 3 isokinetic dynamometer beginning at a speed of 60 degrees x sec(-1), gradually increasing in speed every week up to 180, 300, and 400 degrees x s(-1), respectively. Analysis of the data revealed no significant (p < 0.05) differences between groups on any measure. However, the data showed a significant improvement in RST time (pre: 50.87 +/- 4.41 seconds; post: 49.20 +/- 4.28 seconds) and number of errors (pre: 4.13 +/- 2.87 errors; post: 2.75 +/- 1.81 errors), implying that a learning effect took place on the RST for all individuals. Additionally, short-term isokinetic training did not translate into significant results. It was concluded that 4 weeks of velocity-spectrum training of the hip did not lead to improvements on the ability to rapidly step, as measured by the RST. Therefore, the open-kinetic-chain training should not be done for improvements on a functional, closed-kinetic-chain activity.  相似文献

The purpose of this investigation was to examine the effects of 3 days of velocity-specific isokinetic training on peak torque (PT) and the electromyographic (EMG) signal. Thirty adult women were randomly assigned to a slow-velocity training (SVT), fast-velocity training (FVT), or control (CON) group. All subjects performed maximal, concentric, isokinetic leg extension muscle actions at 30 and 270 degrees .s(-1) for the determination of PT on visits 1 (pretest) and 5 (posttest). Electromyographic signals were recorded from the vastus lateralis, rectus femoris, and vastus medialis muscles during each test. The training groups performed 4 sets of 10 maximal repetitions at 30 degrees .s(-1) (SVT group) or 270 degrees .s(-1) (FVT group) on visits 2, 3, and 4. For the SVT group, PT increased from pretest to posttest at 30 and 270 degrees .s(-1). The increase in PT at 30 degrees .s(-1) was greater than at 270 degrees .s(-1). For the FVT group, PT increased at 270 degrees .s(-1) only. For the CON group, there were no changes in PT at either velocity. There were no pretest to posttest changes in EMG amplitude or mean power frequency (MPF) for any group at any velocity, with the exception of an increase in EMG MPF from the vastus medialis muscle at 270 degrees .s(-1) for the FVT group. The results indicated that 3 sessions of slow velocity (30 degrees .s(-1)) isokinetic training resulted in an increase in PT at slow and fast velocities (30 and 270 degrees .s(-1)), whereas training at the fast velocity (270 degrees .s(-1)) increased PT only at 270 degrees .s(-1). The lack of consistent increases in EMG amplitude or MPF suggested that the training-induced increases in leg extension PT were not caused by increased activation of the superficial muscles of the quadriceps femoris. The important implication for coaches, trainers, and physical therapists is that significant muscular performance gains may be achieved even after very short training periods, but determination of the specific physiological adaptation(s) underlying these performance gains requires further investigation.  相似文献

Reaction time, first-step quickness, lateral (side steps), and forward speed over short distances are important parameters for tennis performance. The aims of this study were: (i) to diagnose the presence of laterality in tennis lateral movements and (ii) to compare the effects of plyometric training (PT), tennis-specific drills training (TDT), and combined training (CT) on performance in tennis-specific movements and power/strength of lower limbs. Sixty-four novice tennis players (21.1 +/- 1.3 years) were equally (n = 16) assigned to a control (C), PT, TDT, or CT. Training was performed 3 times/week for 9 weeks. Testing was conducted before and after training for the evaluation of reaction time (single lateral step), 4-m lateral and forward sprints, 12-m forward sprints with and without turn, reactive ability, power, and strength. There was a significant difference in lateral speed (side-steps) between the 2 sides (P < 0.05). PT, TDT, or CT improved the 4m lateral and forward sprints (P < 0.05). PT and CT improved also the reaction time of the "slow" side (P < 0.05), whereas TDT and CT improved the 12-m sprint performances with and without turn (P < 0.05). Power and strength improved in most tests after PT and CT. Lateral and forward sprints were correlated (r = -0.50 to -0.75; P < 0.05) with power/strength. In conclusion, PT improved fitness characteristics that rely more on reactive strength and powerful push-off of legs such as, lateral reaction time, 4-m lateral and forward sprints, drop jump and maximal force. TDT improved all 4-m and 12-m sprint performances, whereas CT appeared to incorporate the advantage of both programs and improved most tests items. Tennis coaches should be aware that each training regimen may induce more favorable changes to different aspects of fitness.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a comprehensive neuromuscular training program on measures of performance and lower-extremity movement biomechanics in female athletes. The hypothesis was that significant improvements in measures of performance would be demonstrated concomitant with improved biomechanical measures related to anterior cruciate ligament injury risk. Forty-one female basketball, soccer, and volleyball players (age, 15.3 +/- 0.9 years; weight, 64.8 +/- 9.96 kg; height, 171.2 +/- 7.21 cm) underwent 6 weeks of training that included 4 main components (plyometric and movement, core strengthening and balance, resistance training, and speed training). Twelve age-, height-, and weight-matched controls underwent the same testing protocol twice 6 weeks apart. Trained athletes demonstrated increased predicted 1 repetition maximum squat (92%) and bench press (20%). Right and left single-leg hop distance increased 10.39 cm and 8.53 cm, respectively, and vertical jump also increased from 39.9 +/- 0.9 cm to 43.2 +/- 1.1 cm with training. Speed in a 9.1-m sprint improved from 1.80 +/- 0.02 seconds to 1.73 +/- 0.01 seconds. Pre- and posttest 3-dimensional motion analysis demonstrated increased knee flexion-extension range of motion during the landing phase of a vertical jump (right, 71.9 +/- 1.4 degrees to 76.9 +/- 1.4 degrees ; left, 71.3 +/- 1.5 degrees to 77.3 +/- 1.4 degrees ). Training decreased knee valgus (28%) and varus (38%) torques. Control subjects did not demonstrate significant alterations during the 6-week interval. The results of this study support the hypothesis that the combination of multiple-injury prevention-training components into a comprehensive program improves measures of performance and movement biomechanics.  相似文献

Repeated sprint testing is gaining popularity in team sports, but the methods of data analysis and relationships to speed and endurance qualities are not well described. We compared three different methods for analyzing repeated sprint test results, and we quantified relationships between repeated sprints, short sprints, and endurance test scores. Well-trained male junior Australian Football players (n = 60, age 18.1 +/- 0.4 years, height 1.88 +/- 0.07 m, mass 82.0 +/- 8.1 kg; mean +/- SD) completed a 6 x 30-m repeated sprint running test on a 20-second cycle, a 20-m sprint test (short sprint), and the 20-m multistage shuttle run for endurance. Repeated sprint results were evaluated in three ways: total time for all six sprints (TOTAL), percent change from predicted times (PRED) from the fastest 30-m sprint time, and percent change from first to last sprint (CHANGE). We observed a very large decrement (CHANGE 6.3 +/- 0.7%, mean +/- 90% confidence limits) in 30-m performance from the first to last sprint (4.16 +/- 0.10 to 4.42 +/- 0.11 seconds, mean +/- SD). Results from TOTAL were highly correlated with 20-m sprint and 20-m multistage shuttle run tests. Performance decrements calculated by PRED were highly correlated with TOTAL (r = 0.91), but neither method was directly comparable with CHANGE (r = -0.23 and r = 0.12 respectively). TOTAL was moderately correlated with fastest 20-m sprint time (r = 0.66) but not the 20-m multistage shuttle run (r = -0.20). Evaluation of repeated sprint testing is sensitive to the method of data analysis employed. The total sprint time and indices of the relative decrement in performance are not directly interchangeable. Repeated sprint ability seems more related to short sprint qualities than endurance fitness.  相似文献

Research has previously been divided on whether performing resistance training with a single set per training session is as effective for increasing strength as training with multiple sets. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of single sets versus multiple sets on strength. Forty subjects were randomly assigned into 1 of 3 groups: control (C; n = 8), single set (SS; n = 14), or multiple sets (MS; n = 18) to perform 8 maximal knee extensions at 60 degrees .s(-1) on a Biodex System 3 isokinetic dynamometer twice a week for 8 weeks. The SS group performed 1 set while the MS group performed 3 sets. All groups were pre-, mid- (4 weeks), and posttested at 60 degrees x s(-1). Strength was expressed as peak torque (PT). A 3 x 3 x 2 (time x group x sex) mixed factor repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed no interaction involving sex, but there was an interaction of group by time. The MS group exhibited a significant (p < 0.05) increase in PT (pre = 171.39 +/- 61.98 Nm; mid = 193.08 +/- 66.23 Nm) between the pretest and the midtest while the SS (pre = 163.45 +/- 56.37 Nm; mid = 172.60 +/- 61.78 Nm) and C groups (pre = 135.997 +/- 54.31 Nm; mid = 127.66 +/- 53.12 Nm) did not change. Strength did not change between the midtest and the posttest for any group. It was concluded that performing 3 sets of isokinetic knee extensions was more effective than performing a single set for increasing peak torque. These results seem to indicate that for increasing strength of the quadriceps, performing multiple sets is superior to performing a single set of resistance exercise.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the physiological effects of different sprint repetition protocols on professional footballers. Of particular interest were the abilities of repeated sprint protocols to induce fatigue to an extent observed during competitive soccer. Six professional soccer players were assessed for fatigue rate and physiological responses of heart rate (HR), blood lactate (BLa), and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) during the performance of 4 repeated sprint drills, each totaling a sprint distance of 600 m. The 4 drills used 15- or 40-m sprints with 1:4 or 1:6 exercise: rest ratios. The 15-m sprint drill with 1:4 exercise:rest ratio induced the greatest fatigue (final sprint time 15% greater than initial sprint time) and greatest physiological responses. The 40-m sprint drill using a 1:4 exercise:rest ratio produced similar BLa and HR responses to the 15-m drill (13-14 mmol.L(-1) and 89% HRmax, respectively) but significantly lower RPE (mean +/- SD: 17.1 +/- 0.4 vs. 18.8 +/- 0.4, p < 0.05) and fatigue rates (11.1 vs. 15.0%, p < 0.01). Both sprint distance and exercise:rest ratio independently influenced fatigue rate, with the 15-m sprint distance and the 1:4 exercise:rest ratio inducing significantly (p < 0.01) greater fatigue than the 40-m sprint distance and the 1:6 exercise:rest ratio. The magnitude of fatigue during the 40- x 15-m sprint drill using a 1:6 exercise:rest ratio was 7.5%, which is close to the fatigue rate previously reported during actual soccer play. The present study is the first to examine both variations in sprint distances and rest ratios simultaneously, and the findings may aid the design of repeated sprint training for soccer.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 2 days of isokinetic training of the forearm flexors and extensors on strength and electromyographic (EMG) amplitude for the agonist and antagonist muscles. Seventeen men (mean +/- SD age = 21.9 +/- 2.8 years) were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 groups: (a) a training group (TRN; n = 8), or (b) a control group (CTL; n = 9). The subjects in the TRN group were tested for maximal isometric and concentric isokinetic (randomly ordered velocities of 60, 180, and 300 degrees x s(-1)) torque of the dominant forearm flexors and extensors before (pretest) and after (posttest) 2 days of isokinetic strength training. Each training session involved 6 sets of 10 maximal concentric isokinetic muscle actions of the forearm flexors and extensors at a velocity of 180 degrees x s(-1). The subjects in the CTL group were also tested for strength but did not perform any training. Surface EMG signals were detected from the biceps brachii and triceps brachii muscles during the strength testing. The results indicated that there were no significant (p > 0.05) pre- to post-test changes in forearm flexion and extension torque or EMG amplitude for the agonist and antagonist muscles. Thus, unlike previous studies of the quadriceps femoris muscles, these findings for the forearm flexors and extensors suggested that 2 days of isokinetic training may not be sufficient to elicit significant increases in strength. These results may have implications for the number of visits that are required for rehabilitation after injury, surgery, or both.  相似文献

A large number of team sports require athletes to repeatedly produce maximal or near maximal sprint efforts of short duration interspersed with longer recovery periods of submaximal intensity. This type of team sport activity can be characterized as prolonged, high-intensity, intermittent running (PHIIR). The primary purpose of the present study was to determine the physiological factors that best relate to a generic PHIIR simulation that reflects team sport running activity. The second purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between common performance tests and the generic PHIIR simulation. Following a familiarization session, 16 moderately trained (VO2max = 40.0 +/- 4.3 ml x kg(-1) x min(-1)) women team sport athletes performed various physiological, anthropometrical, and performance tests and a 30-minute PHIIR sport simulation on a nonmotorized treadmill. The mean heart rate and blood lactate concentration during the PHIIR sport simulation were 164 +/- 6 b x min(-1) and 8.2 +/- 3.3 mmol x L(-1), respectively. Linear regression demonstrated significant relationships between the PHIIR sport simulation distance and running velocity attained at a blood lactate concentration of 4 mmol x L(-1) (LT) (r = 0.77, p < 0.05), 5 x 6-second repeated cycle sprint work (r = 0.56, p < 0.05), 30-second Wingate test (r = 0.61, p < 0.05), peak aerobic running velocity (Vmax) (r = 0.69, p < 0.05), and Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test (Yo-Yo IR1) distance (r = 0.50, p < 0.05), respectively. These results indicate that an increased LT is associated with improved PHIIR performance and that PHIIR performance may be monitored by determining Yo-Yo IR1 performance, 5 x 6-second repeated sprint cycle test work, 30-second Wingate test performance, Vmax, or LT. We suggest that training programs should focus on improving both LT and Vmax for increasing PHIIR performance in moderately trained women. This study examined the impact of short-term (7-day), high-dose (0.35 g.kg(-1).d(-1)) oral creatine monohydrate supplementation (CrS) on single sprint running performance (40 m, <6 seconds) and on intermittent sprint performance in highly trained sprinters. Nine subjects completed the double-blind cross-over design with 2 supplementation periods (placebo and creatine) and a 7-week wash-out period. A test protocol consisting of 40-m sprint runs was performed, and running velocity was continuously recorded over the total distance. The maximal sprint performance, the relative degree of fatigue at the end of intermittent sprint exercise (6 x 40 m, 30-second rest interval), as well as the degree of recovery (120-second passive rest) remained unchanged following CrS. There were no significant changes related to CrS in absolute running velocity at any distance between start and finish (40 m). It was concluded that no ergogenic effect on single or repeated 40-m sprint times with varying rest periods was observed in highly trained athletes.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to examine the effects of a moderate intensity strength training on changes in critical velocity (CV), anaerobic running distance (D''), sprint performance and Yo-Yo intermittent running test (Yo-Yo IR1) performances. Methods: two recreational soccer teams were divided in a soccer training only group (SO; n = 13) and a strength and soccer training group (ST; n = 13). Both groups were tested for values of CV, D'', Yo-Yo IR1 distance and 30-m sprint time on two separate occasions (pre and post intervention). The ST group performed a concurrent 6-week upper and lower body strength and soccer training, whilst the SO group performed a soccer only training. Results: after the re-test of all variables, the ST demonstrated significant improvements for both, YoYo IR1 distance (p = 0.002) and CV values (p<0.001) with no significant changes in the SO group. 30-m sprint performance were slightly improved in the ST group with significantly decreased performance times identified in the SO group (p<0.001). Values for D'' were slightly reduced in both groups (ST -44.5 m, 95% CI = -90.6 to 1.6; SO -42.6 m, 95% CI = -88.7 to 3.5). Conclusions: combining a 6-week moderate strength training with soccer training significantly improves CV, Yo-Yo IR1 whilst moderately improving 30-m sprint performances in non-previously resistance trained male soccer players. Critical Velocity can be recommended to coaches as an additional valid testing tool in soccer.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to compare the effects of dry-land strength training vs. an electrical stimulation program on swimmers. Twenty-four national-level swimmers were randomly assigned to 3 groups: the dry-land strength training program (S), the electrical stimulation training program (ES), and the control (C) group. The training program lasted 4 weeks. The subjects were evaluated before the training, at the end of the training program, and 4 weeks later. The outcome values ascertained were peak torque during arm extension at different velocities (from -60 to 180°·s(-1)) using an isokinetic dynamometer and performance, stroke rate, and stroke length during a 50-m front crawl. A significant increase in swimming velocity and peak torque was observed for both S and ES at the end of the training and 4 weeks later. Stroke length increased in the S group but not in the ES group. However, no significant differences in swimming velocity between S and ES groups were observed. No significant changes occurred in the C group. Programs combining swimming training with dry-land strength or electrical stimulation programs led to a similar gain in sprint performance and were more efficient than swimming alone.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: Lockie, RG, Murphy, AJ, Scott, BR, and Janse de Jonge, XAK. Quantifying session ratings of perceived exertion for field-based speed training methods in team sport athletes. J Strength Cond Res 26(10): 2721-2728, 2012-Session ratings of perceived exertion (session RPE) are commonly used to assess global training intensity for team sports. However, there is little research quantifying the intensity of field-based training protocols for speed development. The study's aim was to determine the session RPE of popular training protocols (free sprint [FST], resisted sprint [RST], and plyometrics [PT]) designed to improve sprint acceleration over 10 m in team sport athletes. Twenty-seven men (age = 23.3 ± 4.7 years; mass = 84.5 ± 8.9 kg; height = 1.83 ± 0.07 m) were divided into 3 groups according to 10-m velocity. Training consisted of an incremental program featuring two 1-hour sessions per week for 6 weeks. Subjects recorded session RPE 30 minutes post training using the Borg category-ratio 10 scale. Repeated measures analysis of variance found significant (p < 0.05) changes in sprint velocity and session RPE over 6 weeks. All groups significantly increased 0- to 5-m velocity and 0- to 10-m velocity by 4-7%, with no differences between groups. There were no significant differences in session RPE between the groups, suggesting that protocols were matched for intensity. Session RPE significantly increased over the 6 weeks for all groups, ranging from 3.75 to 5.50. This equated to intensities of somewhat hard to hard. Post hoc testing revealed few significant weekly increases, suggesting that session RPE may not be sensitive to weekly load increases in sprint and plyometric training programs. Another explanation, however, could be that the weekly load increments used were not great enough to increase perceived exertion. Nonetheless, the progressive overload of each program was sufficient to improve 10-m sprint performance. The session RPE values from the present study could be used to assess workload for speed training periodization within a team sports conditioning program.  相似文献
