This study examined absorption properties of 2-styrylpyridine, trans-2-(m-cyanostyryl)pyridine, trans-2-[3-methyl-(m-cyanostyryl)]pyridine, and trans-4-(m-cyanostyryl)pyridine compounds based on theoretical UV/Vis spectra, with comparisons between time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) using B3LYP, PBE0, and LC-ωPBE functionals. Basis sets 6–31G(d), 6–31G(d,p), 6–31+G(d,p), and 6–311+G(d,p) were tested to compare molecular orbital energy values, gap energies, and maxima absorption wavelengths. UV/Vis spectra were calculated from fully optimized geometry in B3LYP/6–311+G(d,p) in gas phase and using the IEFPCM model. B3LYP/6–311+G(d,p) provided the most stable form, a planar structure with parameters close to 2-styrylpyridine X-ray data. Isomeric structures were evaluated by full geometry optimization using the same theory level. Similar energetic values were found: ~4.5 kJ?mol?1 for 2-styrylpyridine and ~1 kJ?mol?1 for derivative compound isomers. The 2-styrylpyridine isomeric structure differed at the pyridine group N-atom position; structures considered for the other compounds had the cyano group attached to the phenyl ring m-position equivalent. The energy difference was almost negligible between m-cyano-substituted molecules, but high energy barriers existed for cyano-substituted phenyl ring torsion. TD-DFT appeared to be robust and accurate approach. The B3LYP functional with the 6–31G(d) basis set produced the most reliable λmax values, with mean errors of 0.5 and 12 nm respect to experimental values, in gas and solution, respectively. The present data describes effects on the λmax changes in the UV/Vis absorption spectra of the electron acceptor cyano substituent on the phenyl ring, the electron donor methyl substituent, and the N-atom position on the electron acceptor pyridine ring, causing slight changes respect to the 2-styrylpyridine title compound.  相似文献

The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrum of 6-chloro-8-thia-1,4-epoxybicyclo[4.3.0]non-2-ene has been recorded in the region 4000–525 cm? 1. The optimised geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of the title compound have been calculated using the ab initio Hartree–Fock and the density functional theory method with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311G(d,p) basis set levels. The harmonic vibrational frequencies were calculated and the scaled values have been compared with experimental FT-IR spectrum. The observed and the calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The theoretical vibrational spectrum of the title compound were interpreted by means of potential energy distributions using VEDA 4 program.  相似文献

Different nitro azole isomers based on five membered heterocyclics were designed and investigated using computational techniques in order to find out the comprehensive relationships between structure and performances of these high nitrogen compounds. Electronic structure of the molecules have been calculated using density functional theory (DFT) and the heat of formation has been calculated using the isodesmic reaction approach at B3LYP/6-31G* level. All designed compounds show high positive heat of formation due to the high nitrogen content and energetic nitro groups. The crystal densities of these energetic azoles have been predicted with different force fields. All the energetic azoles show densities higher than 1.87 g/cm3. Detonation properties of energetic azoles are evaluated by using Kamlet-Jacobs equation based on the calculated densities and heat of formations. It is found that energetic azoles show detonation velocity about 9.0 km/s, and detonation pressure of 40GPa. Stability of the designed compounds has been predicted by evaluating the bond dissociation energy of the weakest C-NO2 bond. The aromaticity using nucleus independent chemical shift (NICS) is also explored to predict the stability via delocalization of the π-electrons. Charge on the nitro group is used to assess the impact sensitivity in the present study. Overall, the study implies that all energetic azoles are found to be stable and expected to be the novel candidates of high energy density materials (HEDMs).  相似文献

This study deals with the identification of glutamic acid by means of quantum chemical approach. FT-IR, FT-Raman and UV–vis spectra were recorded in the region 4000–400, 4000–50 cm? 1 and 200–600 nm, respectively. CAM-B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and B2PLYP/6-31G(d,p) calculations were performed to obtain the optimised molecular structures, vibrational frequencies and corresponding vibrational assignment, thermodynamic properties and natural bonding orbital (NBO) analysis. The results show that the obtained optimised geometric parameters (bond lengths, bond angles and bond dihedrals) and vibrational frequencies were found to be in good agreement with the experimental results. The calculations of the electronic spectra were compared with the experimental ones. Furthermore, highest occupied molecular orbital and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital analyses and UV–vis spectral analysis were also performed to determine the energy band gaps and transition states. NBO analysis, calculated using density functional theory methods (CAM-B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and B2PLYP/6-31G(d,p)), was induced to find inter-molecular atoms. 13C and 1H NMR isotropic chemical shifts were calculated and the assignments made were compared with the ChemDraw Ultra values.  相似文献

Trinitromethyl-substituted aminotetrazoles with –NH2, –NO2, –N3, and –NHC(NO2)3 groups were investigated at the B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of density functional theory. Their sublimation enthalpies, thermodynamic properties, and heats of formation were calculated. The thermodynamic properties of these compounds increase with temperature as well as with the number of nitro groups attached to the tetrazole ring. In addition, the detonation velocities and detonation pressures of these compounds were successfully predicted using the Kamlet–Jacobs equations. It was found that these compounds exhibit good detonation properties, and that compound G (D = 9.2 km/s, P = 38.8 GPa) has the most powerful detonation properties, which are similar to those of the well-known explosive HMX (1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine). Finally, the electronic structures and bond dissociation energies of these compounds were calculated. The BDEs of their C–NO2 bonds were found to range from 101.9 to 125.8 kJ/mol-1. All of these results should provide useful fundamental information for the design of novel HEDMs.  相似文献

The pyrazole-pyridine derivatives were optimized to obtain their molecular geometries and electronic structures at the DFT-B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and DFT-B3P86/6-31G(d,p) levels. Molecular mechanics (MM) calculations were performed for the title compounds. Heats of formation (HOFs) were predicted through designed isodesmic reactions. Detonation performance was evaluated by using the Kamlet-Jacobs equations based on the calculated densities and heats of formation. The thermal stability of the title compounds was investigated via the bond dissociation energies (BDEs). The simulation results reveal that the compound with one pyrazole ring that is fully nitro-substituted performs similarly to the famous explosive HMX, and the compound with two pyrazole rings that are fully nitro-substituted outperforms HMX. According to the quantitative standard of energetics and stability as high energy density materials (HEDMs), the compound with two pyrazole rings that are fully nitro-substituted essentially satisfies this requirement.  相似文献

A set of supramolecular cage-structures—spherophanes—was studied at the density functional B3LYP level. Full geometrical structure optimisations were made with 6–31G and 6–31G(d) basis sets followed by frequency calculations, and electronic energies were evaluated at B3LYP/6–31++G(d,p). Three different symmetries were considered: C1, Ci, and Oh. It was found that the bonds between the benzene rings are very long to allow π-electron delocalisation between them. These spherophanes show portal openings of 2.596 Å in Spher1, 4.000 Å in Meth2, 3.659 Å in Oxa3, and 4.412 Å in Thia4. From the point of view of potential host–guest interaction studies, it should also be noted that the atoms nearest to the centre of the cavities are carbons bonded to X groups. These supramolecules seem to exhibit relatively large gap HOMO?LUMO: 2.89 eV(Spher1), 5.26 eV(Meth2), 5.73 eV(Oxa3), and 4.82 eV(Thia4). The calculated ΔH°f (298.15 K) values at B3LYP/6–31G(d) are (in kcal mol?1) 750.98, 229.78, ?10.97, and 482.49 for Spher1, Meth2, Oxa3, and Thia4, respectively. Using homodesmotic reactions, relative to Spher1, the spherophanes Meth2, Oxa3, and Thia4 are less strained by ?399.13 kcal mol?1, ?390.40 kcal mol?1, and ?411.38 kcal mol?1, respectively. Their infrared and 13C NMR calculated spectra are reported.  相似文献

Two new nitramine compounds containing pyridine, 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-8-(nitromethyl) -4-imidazolino[4,5-b]4-imidazolino-[4,5-e]pyridine and its N-oxide 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-8- (nitromethyl)-4-imidazolino[4,5-b]4-imidazolino-[4,5-e]pyridine-4-ol were proposed. Density functional theory (DFT) has been employed to study the molecular geometries, electronic structures, infrared spectra, and thermodynamic properties at the B3LYP/6-31G* level. Their detonation performances evaluated using the Kamlet-Jacobs equations with the calculated densities and heats of formation are superior to those of HMX. The predicted densities of them were ca. 2 g*cm-3, detonation velocities were over 9 km*s-1, and detonation pressures were about 40 GPa, showing that they may be potential candidates of high energy density materials (HEDMs). The natural bond orbital analysis indicated that N-NO2 bond is the trigger bond during thermolysis process. The stability of the title compounds is slightly lower than that of 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12- hexaazaisowurtzitane (CL-20). The results of this study may provide basic information for the molecular design of new HEDMs.  相似文献

The density functional theory (DFT) was employed to calculate the energetic properties of several aminopolynitroazoles. The calculations were performed to study the effect of amino and nitro substituents on the heats of formation, densities, detonation performances, thermal stabilities, and sensitivity characteristics of azoles. DFT-B3LYP, DFT-B3PW91, and MP2 methods utilizing the basis sets 6-31 G* and 6-311 G (2df, 3p) were adopted to predict HOFs via designed isodesmic reactions. All of the designed aminopolynitroazoles had heats of formation of >220 kJ mol(-1). The crystal densities of the aminopolynitroazoles were predicted with the cvff force field. All of the energetic azoles had densities of >1.83 g/cm(3). The detonation velocities and pressures were evaluated using the Kamlet-Jacobs equations, utilizing the predicted densities and heats of formation. It was found that aminopolynitroazoles have a detonation velocity of about 9.1 km/s and detonation pressure of 36 GPa. The bond dissociation energies for the C-NO(2) and N-NO(2) bonds were analyzed to investigate the stabilities of the designed molecules. The charge on the nitro group was used to assess impact sensitivity in the present study. The results obtained imply that the designed molecules are stable and are expected to be candidates for high-energy materials (HEMs).  相似文献

The Schiff base compound, N-n-Decyl-2-oxo-5-nitro-1-benzylidene-methylamine, has been -synthesized and characterized by IR, electronic spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal determination. Molecular geometry from X-ray experiment of the title compound in the ground state have been compared using the Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional method (B3LYP) with 6-31G(d) basis set. Calculated results show that density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6-31G(d) level can well reproduce the structure of the title compound. To investigate the solvent effect for the atomic charge distributions of the title compound, self-consistent reaction field theory with Onsager reaction field model was used. In addition, DFT calculations of the title compound, molecular electrostatic potential and thermodynamic properties were performed at B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of theory.  相似文献

We describe an improved force field parameter set for the generalized AMBER force field (GAFF) for urea. Quantum chemical computations were used to obtain geometrical and energetic parameters of urea dimers and larger oligomers using AM1 semiempirical MO theory, density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level, MP2 and CCSD ab initio calculations with the 6-311++G(d,p), aug-cc-pVDZ, aug-cc-pVTZ, and aug-cc-pVQZ basis sets, and with the CBS-QB3 and CBS-APNO complete basis set methods. Seven different urea dimer structures were optimized at the MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ level to obtain accurate interaction energies. Atomic partial charges were calculated at the MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ level with the restrained electrostatic potential (RESP) fitting approach. The interaction energies computed with these new RESP charges in the force field are consistent with those obtained from CCSD and MP2 calculations. The linear dimer structure calculated using the force field with modified geometrical parameters and the new RESP charge set agrees well with available experimental data.  相似文献

The VCD spectrum of the monoterpene (−)-myrtenal (1) was compared with theoretical spectra using ab initio density functional theory (DFT) calculations at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p), B3LYP/6-31G+(d,p), B3LYP/6-311G+(d,p), B3LYP/DGDZVP, and B3PW91/DGTZVP levels of theory. Conformational analysis of 1 indicated that the lowest energy conformer was s-trans-C2-C10, which contributes more than 98.5% to the total conformational population regardless of the employed level of theory. The use of a recently developed confidence level algorithm demonstrated that VCD spectra calculated for the main conformer, using the indicated hybrid functionals and basis set, gave no significant changes, from where it follows that B3LYP/DGDZVP calculations provide a superior balance between computer cost and VCD spectral accuracy. The DGDZVP basis set demanded around a quarter the time than the 6-311G+(d,p) basis set while providing similar results. The spectral comparison also provided evidence that the levorotatory enantiomer of myrtenal has the 1R absolute configuration.  相似文献

A study of the effects of counterpoise (CP) corrections in polyatomic cation-water interactions is added to the systematic analysis performed in the past of the basis set superposition error (BSSE) in neutral and anionic adducts. The interaction with water of the ammonium cation and its methyl and -CHO derivatives is considered due to the need to model accurately this functional group, which is common in biological molecules. The basis sets employed are the STO-3G and MINI-1 minimal basis sets and the 3-21G, 4-31G and 6-31G** extended ones. In addition, the 6-311++G (2d,p) and 6-311++G (3d, 2p) basis sets have been used for the smallest system, at the SCF and MP2 levels, both without and with CP correction. These basis sets give an equilibrium distance slightly larger and an interaction energy less favourable than the 6-31G** basis set at the corresponding level, while the inclusion of correlation corrections produces a stronger H-bond at a shorter distance. The results confirm the previous hint of a lower incidence of BSSEs in medium size cationic systems, at a different extent for the various basis sets. While the STO-3G basis set is sharply affected by BSSEs in both the equilibrium distance and the interaction energy, the MINI-1 basis set shows a small BSSE, though its trend is not completely satisfactory because the charge transfer component has an anomalous behaviour with respect to our reference basis set. The 4-31G basis set is the only one able to hold comparison with the 6-31G**, even though the interaction energy produced is slightly overestimated. The 3-21G basis set, when corrected, almost parallels the 4-31G one in this set of compounds. The reliability of the CPED correction is checked and discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we theoretically studied the geometries, stabilities, and the electronic and thermodynamic properties of 4H-cyclopenta[2,1-b,3;4-b']dithiopene S-oxide derivatives (BTO-X, with X = BH(2), SiH(2), S, S=O, or O) using semi-empirical methods, ab initio methods, and density functional theory. The geometries and thermodynamic parameters calculated by PM3 were in good agreement with those calculated with B3LYP/6-31 G*. The band gap calculated using B3LYP/6-31 G* ranged from 3.94 eV (BTO-O) to 3.16 eV (BTO-B). The absorption λ(max) calculated using B3LYP/6-31 G* was shifted to longer wavelengths when X = BH(2), SiH(2), or S=O (due to their electron-withdrawing effects) and to shorter wavelengths for BTO-S and BTO-O as compared to the λ(max) for the thiophene S-oxide (2TO) dimer. The changes in ΔH°, ΔS°, and ΔG° calculated using both semi-empirical and DFT methods were quite similar.  相似文献

The B3LYP/6-31G (d) method of density functional theory (DFT) was used to study molecular geometry, electronic structure, infrared spectrum (IR) and thermodynamic properties. The heat of formation (HOF) and calculated density were estimated to evaluate the detonation properties using Kamlet–Jacobs equations. Thermal stability of 3,5,7,10,12,14,15,16-octanitro- 3,5,7,10,12,14,15,16-octaaza-heptacyclo[7.5.1.12,8.01,11.02,6.04,13.06,11]hexadecane (cage-tetranitrotetraazabicyclooctane) was investigated by calculating the bond dissociation energy (BDE) at unrestricted B3LYP/6-31G (d) level. The calculated results show that the N–NO2 bond is a trigger bond during thermolysis initiation process. The crystal structure obtained by molecular mechanics (MM) methods belongs to Pna21 space group, with cell parameters a?=?12.840 Å, b?=?9.129 Å, c?=?14.346 Å, Z?=?6 and ρ?=?2.292 g·cm?3. Both the detonation velocity of 9.96 km·s?1 and the detonation pressure of 47.47 GPa are better than those of CL-20. According to the quantitative standard of energetics and stability, as a high energy density compound (HEDC), cage-tetranitrotetraazabicyclooctane essentially satisfies this requirement.  相似文献

The calculation of optimized molecular structure and molecular hyperpolarizability of four new acridine-benzothiazolylamine chromophores (1–4) [2-nitro-6-(piperid-1-yl) acridine (1), 6-(benzothiazol-2-yl-amino)-2-nitro-acridine (2), 6-(6-ethylcarboxylate-benzothiazol-2-yl-amino)-2-nitroacridine (3), 6-(6-(β-hydroxyethyl-benzothiazol-2-yl-amino)-2-nitroacridine (4)] have been investigated using ab initio methods. Ab initio optimization were performed at the Hartree–Fock level using STO-3G basis set. The first hyperpolarizabilities have been calculated at the Hartree–Fock method with 6–31G and 6–311G basis sets using Gaussian 98W. In general, the first hyperpolarizability is dependent on the choice of method and basis set. To understand this phenomenon in the context of molecular orbital picture, we examined the frontier molecular orbital energies of all the molecules by using HF/6–31G, 6–311G levels. The polarizability, anisotropy of polarizability and ground state dipole moment of all the molecules have also been calculated. These acridine-benzothiazolylamine chromophores display significant second–order molecular nonlinearity, β (60.2–137.0 × 10−30 esu) and provide the basis for future design of efficient nonlinear optical materials having the acridine-benzothiazolylamine core.  相似文献

In order to gain deeper insight into structure, charge distribution, and energies of A-T base pairs, we have performed quantum chemical ab initio and density functional calculations at the HF (Hartree-Fock) and B3LYP levels with 3-21G*, 6-31G*, 6-31G**, and 6-31++G** basis sets. The calculated donor-acceptor atom distances in the Watson-Crick A-T base pair are in good agreement with the experimental mean values obtained from an analysis of 21 high resolution DNA structures. In addition, for further correction of interaction energies between adenine and thymine, the basis set superposition error (BSSE) associated with the hydrogen bond energy has been computed via the counterpoise method using the individual bases as fragments. In the Watson-Crick A-T base pair there is a good agreement between theory and experimental results. The distances for (N2...H23-N19), (N8-H13...O24), and (C1...O18) are 2.84, 2.94, and 3.63 A, respectively, at B3LYP/6-31G** level, which is in good agreement with experimental results (2.82, 2.98, and 3.52 A). Interaction energy of the Watson-Crick A-T base pair is -13.90 and -10.24 kcal/mol at B3LYP/6-31G** and HF/6-31G** levels, respectively. The interaction energy of model (9) A-T base pair is larger than others, -18.28 and -17.26 kcal/mol, and for model (2) is the smallest value, -13.53 and -13.03 kcal/mol, at B3LYP/6-31G** and B3LYP/6-31++G** levels, respectively. The computed B3LYP/6-31G** bond enthalpies for Watson-Crick A-T pairs of -14.4 kcal/mol agree well with the experimental results of -12.1 kcal/mol deviating by as little as -2.3 kcal/mol. The BSSE of some cases is large (9.85 kcal/mol) and some is quite small (0.6 kcal/mol).  相似文献

First-principles methods using the TPSS density functional level of theory with the basis set 6-31G** were applied to study (5-cyanotetrazolato-N(2)) pentaammine cobalt (III) perchlorate (CP) and Ni, Fe and Zn analogues in the gas phase. The optimized lowest-energy geometry of CP was calculated from reported experimental structural data using the TPSS method. The calculated values are in good agreement with those measured by X-ray diffraction. Ni, Fe and Zn analogues were constructed and calculated on the same basis. NBO results showed that the metal-ligand interactions have covalent character. Donor-acceptor analyses predicted that the delocalization energy E(2) decreases from Co to Zn, so the covalent nature of the complexes increases in the order Co>Fe>Ni>Zn. In addition, HOMO-LUMO composition was investigated to determine the stability of the title compounds.  相似文献

Calculations using different quantum mechanical methods including semiempirical (MNDO,AM1 and PM3), ab initio (RHF and MP2 calculations using the 6-311G and 6-311++G** basis sets), and density functional theory (LSDA, BP, MIXBP and B3LYP, i.e., B3LYP/6-311+G**//B3LYP/6-31G*) have been performed on the thermal fragmentation of cyclopropanone to ethylene and carbon monoxide. All RHF calculations predict a concerted single step mechanism for this conversion. The estimated activation energies vary from 34.4 to 54.6 kcal·mol-1, mainly localized around 37±2 kcal·mol-1, depending on the method. Whereas the calculated RHF reaction energies also varied from 14.5 to -33.3 kcal·mol-1, the B3LYP/6-311+G**//B3LYP/6-31G* method predicts the experimental value (-17.7 kcal·mol-1) within experimental uncertainties. Remarkably, semiempirical AM1 and PM3 methods and simple DFT calculations, LSDA, predict comparable results to the more advanced methods. UHF ab initio calculations predict the same single step mechanism, whereas a multistep biradical mechanism with an unrealistically low activation energy is favored by the semiempirical methods. Structures of the activated complex of the single step mechanism, estimated by different methods, are very similar and consistent with a nonlinear cheletropic [2s + 2a] reaction, as predicted by the orbital symmetry rules and earlier EHT calculations.Electronic Supplementary Material available.  相似文献

The Schiff base compound, 2-[(4-Fluorophenylimino)methyl]-3,5-dimethoxyphenol, has been synthesized and characterized by IR, electronic spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal determination. Molecular geometry from X-ray experiment of the title compound in the ground state have been compared using the Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional method (B3LYP) with 6–31G(d) basis set. Calculated results show that density functional theory (DFT) and HF can well reproduce the structure of the title compound. The energetic behavior of the title compound in solvent media has been examined using B3LYP method with the 6–31G(d) basis set by applying the polarizable continuum model (PCM). The total energy of the title compound decrease with the increasing polarity of the solvent. By using TD-DFT and TD-HF methods, electronic absorption spectra of the title compound have been predicted and a good agreement with the TD-DFT method and the experimental ones is determined. In addition, DFT calculations of the title compound, molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), natural bond orbital (NBO), and thermodynamic properties were performed at B3LYP/6–31G(d) level of theory.  相似文献
