The sun coral Tubastraea coccinea Lesson, 1829 (Dendrophylliidae) is a widely distributed shallow‐water scleractinian that has extended its range to non‐native habitats in recent decades. With its rapid spread, this coral is now one of the main invasive species in Brazil. Its high invasive capability is related to opportunistic characteristics, including several reproductive strategies that have allowed it to disperse rapidly and widely. To better understand the reproductive biology of T. coccinea and aid in developing management strategies for invaded areas, we investigated aspects of its reproductive performance and life cycle, including the effects of colony size, seawater temperature and salinity, and lunar periodicity on offspring production and larval metamorphosis competence. A total of 18,139 offspring were released in different developmental stages, mainly from the larger colonies, which also produced larvae with longer competence periods. The main reproductive peak occurred during the First Quarter and New Moon phases and was highest in water temperatures around 26°C. Together, these results help to explain the rapid expansion of T. coccinea into non‐native habitats such as the Caribbean and southwestern Atlantic, and will inform actions of the recent Brazilian National Plan for the prevention, eradication, control, and monitoring of sun corals.  相似文献

Tubastraea tagusensis, a coral native to the Galapagos Archipelago, has successfully established and invaded the Brazilian coast where it modifies native tropical rocky shore and coral reef communities. In order to understand the processes underlying the establishment of T. tagusensis, we tested whether Maxent, a tool for species distribution modeling, based on the native range of T. tagusensis correctly forecasted the invasion range of this species in Brazil. The Maxent algorithm was unable to predict the Brazilian coast as a suitable environment for the establishment of T. tagusensis. A comparison between these models and a principal component analysis (PCA) allowed us to examine the environmental dissimilarity between the two occupied regions (native and invaded) and to assess the species' occupied niche breadth. According to the PCA results, lower levels of chlorophyll‐a and nitrate on the Atlantic coast segregate the Brazilian and Galapagos environments, implying that T. tagusensis may have expanded its realized niche during the invasion process. We tested the possible realized niche expansion in T. tagusensis by assuming that Tubastraea spp. have similar fundamental niches, which was supported by exploring the environmental space of T. coccinea, a tropical‐cosmopolitan congener of T. tagusensis. We believe that the usage of Maxent should be treated with caution, especially when applied to biological invasion (or climate change) scenarios where the target species has a highly localized native (original) distribution, which may represent only a small portion of its fundamental niche, and therefore a violation of a SDM assumption.  相似文献

Sublethal effects of Thymus vulgaris were investigated on life-table parameters of Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) in the laboratory conditions at 25?±?1?°C, 70?±?10% RH and a 14:10?h (L:D) photoperiod. Bioassay was conducted to assess the effect of different concentrations of T. vulgaris essential oil on two-spotted spider mite. LC50 and LC20 of T. vulgaris on T. urticae were calculated as 18.86 and 6.24?μl/litre air for 24?h after treatment. In the sublethal effects, after 24?h exposure to LC50 concentration, mortality, fecundity and longevity of the females that survived from treatment were determined. Results showed that T. vulgaris caused significant reductions in fecundity and longevity of adults. Life-table assay indicated that the intrinsic rate of increase (r m), net reproductive rate (R 0), finite rate of increase (λ), mean generation time (T), significantly reduced in treated females compared to control. These results suggest that T. vulgaris could be incorporated in integrated pest management programmes of T. urticae.  相似文献

Two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, is one of the most important pests of agricultural products that have a global distribution. Now, the control is dependent on the use of chemical pesticides. The effects of the sublethal concentrations (LC10 and LC25) of the essential oil of Cinnamomum zeylanicum were evaluated on some parameters of the life table of the pest, at the constant temperature of 30?°C, relative humidity of 40?±?5% and photoperiod of 16L: 8D. Our results showed that the essential oil of cinnamon is effective on female adult stage. Lethal concentration at which 50% mortality (LC50) for the essential oils is from C. zeylanicum on female adult mite was 23.39?μl/L air. Sublethal concentrations of the essential oil of C. zeylanicum also impair the natural biology of the mite. Concentrations of sublethal of essential oil decreased age-specific fertility (mx) of T. urticae compared with the control. Sublethal concentrations (LC10 and LC25) have reduced the life expectancy (ex) in egg stage. Sublethal effects of the essential oil of C. zeylanicum and its impact on T. urticae management are discussed.  相似文献

Considering the invasion to food commodities by insects and harmful effect of chemical pesticides, essential oils are among the best known substances tested against stored product pests. These compounds may act as fumigants, contact insecticides, repellents or anti-feedants. In present study, fumigant toxicity of essential oils from Laurus nobilis L. and Myrtus communis L. was assessed on larvae and adults of Tribolium castaneum Herbst at 27?±?2?°C, 60?±?5% RH in darkness. Each essential oil was tested in five concentrations with three replicates. The LC50 values of L. nobilis and M. communis against adults of beetle were calculated 243.78 and 56.11?μl/l and LC95 values for them were 685.85 and 144.01?μl/l, respectively. For the larvae of T. castaneum, the LC50 values for L. nobilis and M. communis were 211.64 and 69.63 and LC95 values were 656.84 and 183.65?μl/l, respectively. Results showed that these essential oils may have potential as botanical control agents against larvae and adults of T. castaneum.  相似文献

The prawn Macrobrachium sintangense is likely to be subjected to occasional exposure to combined metal and saline stressors in its natural environment. This research evaluated the acute toxicity (96?h LC50) of cadmium (Cd) on the prawn M. sintangense, with respect to the osmoregulatory capacity (OC) of prawns and to document histological changes in the gills after exposure to sublethal Cd concentrations at different salinities. The 96?h LC50 of Cd to M. sintangense decreased with increasing salinity. The 96?h LC50 values were 89.12 (72.53–109.50), 681.26 (554.20–837.46) and 825.37 (676.99–1006.27) μg CdL?1 at 0, 10 and 20 ppt, respectively. The OC of prawns exposed to 30?μg?CdL?1 at 0 ppt and to 300?μg?CdL?1 at10 ppt decreased significantly compared with that of control prawns exposed to 0 and 10 ppt respectively. Swelling, hyperplasia and necrosis of gill lamellae resulting in the loss of marginal canals were observed in the gills of prawns exposed to 30?μg?CdL?1 at 0 ppt and to 300?μg?CdL?1 at 10 ppt for 7?days.  相似文献

Tubastraea coccinea is an azooxanthellate coral species recorded in the Indian and Atlantic oceans and is presently widespread in the southwestern Atlantic with an alien status for Brazil. T. coccinea outcompete other native coral species by using a varied repertoire of biological traits. For example, T. coccinea has evolved potent venom capable of immobilizing and digesting zooplankton prey. Diversification and modification of venom toxins can provide potential adaptive benefits to individual fitness, yet acquired alteration of venom composition in cnidarians is poorly understood as the adaptive flexibility affecting toxin composition in these ancient lineages has been largely ignored. We used quantitative high‐throughput proteomics to detect changes in toxin expression in clonal fragments of specimens collected and interchanged from two environmentally distinct and geographically separate study sites. Unexpectedly, despite global changes in protein expression, there were no changes in the composition and abundance of toxins from coral fragments recovered from either site, and following clonal transplantation between sites. There were also no apparent changes to the cnidome (cnidae) and gross skeletal or soft tissue morphologies of the specimens. These results suggest that the conserved toxin complexity of T. coccinea co‐evolved with innovation of the venom delivery system, and its morphological development and phenotypic expression are not modulated by habitat pressures over short periods of time. The adaptive response of the venom trait to specific predatory regimes, however, necessitates further consideration.  相似文献

Genetically engineered crops simultaneously produce defensive allelochemicals and Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) toxin proteins to kill some of the world's most devastating insect pests. How the two types of toxins, when ingested sequentially or simultaneously, interact at both lethal and sublethal doses in these pests remains underexplored. Here, we examined the toxicological interactions between the Bt toxin Cry1Ac and the flavonoid allelochemical flavone in Helicoverpa armigera. Simultaneous exposure of H. armigera neonates to lethal doses (LC25) of Cry1Ac and flavone caused a mortality significantly higher than that of either toxin alone and their expected additive mortality. Preexposure for 24 h to a sublethal dose (LC10) of Cry1Ac followed by 6-d simultaneous exposure to the same dose of Cry1Ac plus a lethal dose (1.6 mg/g diets, LC50) of flavone resulted in a mortality significantly higher than that of the LC50 dose of flavone alone and the expected additive mortality of the LC50 dose of flavone plus the LC10 dose of Cry1Ac. One-day preexposure to the sublethal dose (LC10) of flavone followed by 6-d simultaneous exposure to the LC50 dose (6 ng/cm2) of Cry1Ac plus the LC10 dose of flavone yielded a mortality significantly higher than that of the LC50 dose of Cry1Ac but similar to the expected additive mortality of the LC50 dose of Cry1Ac plus the LC10 dose of flavone. The results suggest that Cry1Ac induces and synergizes the toxicity of flavone against H. armigera larvae.  相似文献

Summary

Reductions in salinity can have adverse effects on larval development and larval survival in some invertebrate taxa but not others. Salinity tolerance of larvae may be particularly important in echinoderms because they are both poor ion regulators and stenohaline. I examined the effect of six levels of salinity (15, 18, 21, 24, 27 and 33 PSU) on survival and rate of development of larvae in the subtropical sea urchin Echinometra lucunter. In the short-term, mortality rate was significantly lower in 33 PSU than in all other salinities except 27 PSU, and it was significantly greater in 15 and 18 PSU than in all higher salinities. In the long-term, daily and cumulative mortality were significantly greater in 15 PSU than in most other salinities over 11 days of development (except for cumulative mortality in 18 PSU). They were significantly greater in 18 PSU than in 21 PSU or 33 PSU over a period of 13 days. Furthermore, daily mortality was significantly greater in 18 PSU than in 24 PSU or 27 PSU at 13 d after fertilization. Daily and cumulative mortality were significantly lower in 33 PSU than in 21, 24 or 27 PSU over a period of 17 days. Although in the control (33 PSU) 75% of larvae completed development to the 8-arm stage at 35 d, no larvae developed further than the 4-arm stage in 18, 21, 24 or 27 PSU; in 15 PSU, ~60% of larvae did not develop further than swimming blastulae. Since prolonged exposure to salinities as high as 27 PSU (frequently recorded in the adult habitat) can result in great larval losses, adaptive behaviours that prevent larvae from entering water layers of low salinity will enhance their chance for survival.  相似文献

This study evaluated the acute toxicity of lead in different life stages of the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii, determined the effect of sublethal Pb concentrations on osmoregulatory capacity (OC), measured the Pb level in gills, and investigated the effect of Pb on the structure of the gills of adult prawns. The 24-, 48-, and 96-h LC50 values for Pb to M. rosenbergii increased progressively with increasing life stage, from post-larvae (PL), juvenile to adult. The 24- and 48-h LC50 values for post-larvae ranged from 0.01- to 0.09-mg Pb/L. The 24-, 48-, and 96-h LC50 values for Pb were lower at 12 ppt than those at 0 ppt for either the juveniles or the adults. At 12 ppt, the 96-h LC50 values in PL11, juvenile and adult were 0.47-, 0.58-, and 2.03-mg Pb/L, respectively. Meanwhile, at 12 ppt, the 96-h LC50 values in PL11, juvenile and adult were 0.63-, 4.44-, and 7.98-mg Pb/L, respectively. In adults, the OC values of controls and prawns exposed to 2- and 4-mg Pb/L at 0 ppt were not significantly different. The OC of prawns exposed to and 2-mg Pb/L at 12 ppt increased by 72 and 109% from the OC of the control prawns. At media 12 ppt, the OC value of prawns exposed to 1-mg Pb/L was significantly different from that of prawns exposed to 2-mg Pb/L. The concentrations of Pb in gill tissues increased significantly in Pb exposed prawns both at 0 and 12 ppt. The level of Pb in gills of prawns exposed to 2-mg Pb/L at 12 ppt was not significantly different from those exposed at 0 ppt. The severe toxic actions of Pb were noted in gills of prawns exposed in media 12 ppt. Hyperplasia and necrosis were observed in gill lamellae, resulting in abnormal gill tips after Pb exposure at media 12 ppt. Since the effect of Pb is more pronounced in higher salinity (12 ppt) than in freshwater (0 ppt) it is clear that aquaculture of M. rosenbergii should be conducted in freshwater ponds.  相似文献

Response to selection and evolvability of invasive populations   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Lee CE  Remfert JL  Chang YM 《Genetica》2007,129(2):179-192
While natural selection might in some cases facilitate invasions into novel habitats, few direct measurements of selection response exist for invasive populations. This study examined selection response to changes in salinity using the copepod Eurytemora affinis. This copepod has invaded fresh water from saline habitats multiple times independently throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Selection response to a constant intermediate salinity (5 PSU) was measured in the laboratory for saline source and freshwater invading populations from the St. Lawrence drainage (North America). These populations were reared under three conditions: (1) native salinities (0 or 15 PSU) for at least two generations, (2) 5 PSU for two generations, and (3) 5 PSU for six generations. Full-sib clutches taken from populations reared under these three conditions were split across four salinities (0, 5, 15, and 25 PSU) to determine reaction norms for survival and development time. Contrasts in survival and development time across the three rearing conditions were treated as the selection response. Selection at 5 PSU resulted in a significant decline in freshwater (0 PSU) tolerance for both the saline and freshwater populations. Yet, evolutionary differences in freshwater tolerance persisted between the saline and freshwater populations. The saline and freshwater populations converged in their high-salinity (25 PSU) tolerance, with an increase in the freshwater population and decline in the saline population. Development time did not shift greatly in response to selection at 5 PSU. For all three rearing conditions, the freshwater population exhibited retarded larval development and accelerated juvenile development relative to the saline population. Results from this study indicate that both the saline and freshwater populations exhibit significant responses to selection for a fitness-related trait critical for invasions into a novel habitat. The effect of rising salinity levels on freshwater ecosystems is of concern in many parts of the world, including Australia and southern Africa. Most studies on the salinity tolerance of freshwater macroinvertebrates only consider older life-stages, which are suspected of being more tolerant than early life-stages, such as eggs and hatchlings. The salinity tolerances of ten taxa from south-east Australia and two taxa from South Africa, to the artificial seawater, Ocean Nature, were investigated. From the Barwon River in south-west Victoria, the following taxa were tested Amarinus lacustris (Hymenosomatidae), Paratya australiensis (Atyidae) Physa acuta (Physidae), Lymnaeidae, Plectrocnemia sp. (Polycentropodidae), Anisocentropus sp. (Calamoceratidae), Hydrobiosidae, unidentified Polycentropodidae and Dinotoperla thwaitesi (Gripopterygidae). Chironomus tepperi (Chironomidae) from a laboratory colony stocked from central New South Wales was also investigated. The South African limpets Burnupia stenochorias (Ancylidae) were collected in the Eastern Cape and shrimps Caridina nilotica (Atyidae) from a colony stocked from Kwazulu-Natal were studied. The salinity tolerances of the eggs and hatchlings ranged from 0.8 to >47 mS cm?1 with a mean of 17 mS cm?1. Where reliable estimates are available, the eggs or hatchlings had a salinity tolerance between 5% and 100% of the 72-hour LC50 of older stages, although for insects this was <50%. This study has thus confirmed that salinity tolerances of young stages can be less than the acute tolerances of older stages.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine the seasonal water use patterns of dominant macrophytes coexisting in the coastal Everglades ecotone. We measured the stable isotope signatures in plant xylem water of Rhizophora mangle, Cladium jamaicense, and Sesuvium portulacastrum during the dry (DS) and wet (WS) seasons in the estuarine ecotone along Taylor River in Everglades National Park, FL, USA. Shallow soilwater and deeper groundwater salinity was also measured to extrapolate the salinity encountered by plants at their rooting zone. Average soil water oxygen isotope ratios (δ 18O) was enriched (4.8 ± 0.2‰) in the DS relative to the WS (0.0 ± 0.1‰), but groundwater δ 18O remained constant between seasons (DS: 2.2 ± 0.4‰; WS: 2.1 ± 0.1‰). There was an inversion in interstitial salinity patterns across the soil profile between seasons. In the DS, shallow water was euhaline [i.e., 43 practical salinity units (PSU)] while groundwater was less saline (18 PSU). In the WS, however, shallow water was fresh (i.e., 0 PSU) but groundwater remained brackish (14 PSU). All plants utilized 100% (shallow) freshwater during the WS, but in the DS R. mangle switched to a soil–groundwater mix (δ 55% groundwater) while C. jamaicense and S. portulacastrum continued to use euhaline shallow water. In the DS, based on δ 18O data, the roots of R. mangle roots were exposed to salinities of 25.4 ± 1.4 PSU, less saline than either C. jamaicense (39.1 ± 2.2 PSU) or S. portulacastrum (38.6 ± 2.5 PSU). Although the salinity tolerance of C. jamaicense is not known, it is unlikely that long-term exposure to high salinity is conducive to the persistence of this freshwater marsh sedge. This study increases our ecological understanding of how water uptake patterns of individual plants can contribute to ecosystem levels changes, not only in the southeast saline Everglades, but also in estuaries in general in response to global sea level rise and human-induced changes in freshwater flows.  相似文献

Salinity intrusion in the coastal freshwater rivers due to climate change and construction of the dam in the upstream rivers are alarming in aquaculture. Hence, an experiment was conducted to know the effects of salinity on growth performance, hemato‐biochemical parameters and erythrocytes structure in a commercially cultivable catfish species, striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). Firstly, median lethal concentration (LC50) of salinity for striped catfish was determined and then the fish were exposed to three salinity conditions (4, 8 and 12‰) and a control (0‰). Fish were sacrificed at day 7, 14, 28 and 56 after the start of salinity exposure. The 96 hr LC50 value was found to be 14.87‰. Salinity levels from freshwater to 8‰ showed optimal conditions with high survival rate and good growth performances of fish in terms of weight gain and specific growth rate (SGR). Interestingly, the lowest food conversion ratio (FCR) was found in 4‰ group. The hemoglobin (Hb) level and number of red blood cells (RBCs) were found to be decreased significantly in 8 and 12‰ compared to 0 and 4‰ at the initial days of exposure, while number of white blood cells (WBCs) and glucose level showed opposite scenario. Frequencies of ENA (erythrocytic nuclear abnormalities) and ECA (erythrocytic cellular abnormalities) were significantly increased with increasing salinities in the initial days of exposure. Overall, findings of the present study revealed that striped catfish might be suitable fish species for culture in the brackish water containing salinity up to 10‰.  相似文献

Toxicity of the azo dyes Procion Red MX-5B (PR), Procion Yellow HE-4R (PY), and Congo Red (CR) on the freshwater cladoceran Moina macrocopa was studied. The 4-day LC50 values for PR, PY, and CR were 59.0, 9.50, and 0.16 mg/L, respectively. Reproduction was a more sensitive endpoint than mortality. The onset of reproduction was delayed at azo dye concentrations ≥ 0.01 mg/L. The total number of young produced over 7 days was reduced by 49.8% in PR, 44.5% in PY, and 69.0% in CR. No reproduction was recorded at PY concentrations ≥ 100 mg/L and CR concentrations ≥ 1.0 mg/L. A significant decrease in oxygen consumption rate was observed after 4 days of exposure to azo dyes at concentration equivalent to 25% of the 4-day LC50. The effect of CR on oxygen consumption rate was observed after 4 days of exposure to a concentration equivalent to 10% of the 4-day LC50. Filtration rate was a more sensitive endpoint than oxygen consumption rate. For all three dyes, filtration rate was reduced after 4 days of exposure to concentrations equivalent to 10% of the 4-day LC50. Based on mortality, reproduction, oxygen consumption, and filtration, the order of toxicity was CR > PY > PR.  相似文献

Abstract

The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch is one of the most common pests of agricultural crops. The use of sublethal doses can reduce the need of pesticides and prevent pests’ resistance, which is an important step in integrated pest management and safely controlling this pest. The sublethal effects (LC5, LC15 and LC35) of spirodiclofen on demographic parameters of T. urticae based on the age-stage, two-sex life table theory were investigated under laboratory conditions [25?±?2?°C, 60?±?5% RH and 16:8 (L:D) h]. The longevity, total life span, oviposition period and total fecundity reduced after exposure to LC15 and LC35. Oviposition period ranged from 5.64 to 10.92?days. The gross reproduction rate (GRR), net reproductive rate (R0) and the finite rate of increase (λ) of the mites treated with LC15 and LC35 were inferior to the results when treated with LC5, and control. The values of intrinsic rate of increase (r) was 0.2209?day?1 in the control and this was reduced to 0.1714?day?1 in LC35. Based on these results, considering the negative impact of spirodiclofen on the population growth of T. urticae, this acaricide can be helpful to achieve an efficient control for T. urticae in frame of integrated pest management.  相似文献

The essential oil of Tanacetum balsamita L. was tested against Callosobruchus maculatus F. at the rates of 5.12, 7.23, 10.19, 14.36 and 20.24?μl/l?air for adults and 5.3, 8.5, 10.8, 13.7 and 17.4?μl/l?air for eggs. All experiments were conducted at 27?±?1?°C and 65?±?5% relative humidity. Mortality was counted after 24, 48 and 72?h of exposure and all adults (dead and alive) were taken out of the vials and the vials were left at the same conditions for further 35?days to assess progeny production. For mortality of eggs, unhatched eggs were counted after 7?days. The adults treated with oil were more susceptible than eggs. At highest dose (20.24?μl/l?air) mortality of adults after 72?h, received 75.2%, but this amount for egg at 17.4?μl/l?air after 72?h was 49.06%. The lowest LC50 value on 72?h was observed in adults (1.96?μl/l?air). Also, the lowest LC95 value on 72?h was observed in adults (42.86?μl/l?air). The percentage of reduced progeny on 72?h was 50.92% at 20.24?μl/l?air. Our results suggest that T. balsamita can be used as an alternative to synthetic insecticides but higher dose may be needed.  相似文献

The brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens, is one of the most harmful insect pests of rice crops in Asian countries. To find an effective biological control agent against this pest, we investigated the bacterial flora of field N. lugens collected from Jiangsu Province, China, in 2012 and tested its insecticidal activity. A novel bacterium strain, S-JS1, was isolated from N. lugens nymphs and adults and showed a high level of insecticidal activity. Based on its phenotypic, physiological and biochemical properties, and its 16S rRNA gene phylogeny, the isolate was assigned to Serratia marcescens; the name S. marcescens S-JS1 is proposed. The pathogenicity of S-JS1 against the third-instar nymphs, and the macropterous and the brachypterous adults of N. lugens were compared. The median lethal concentration (LC50) values of S-JS1 against the brachypterous adult were the lowest (LC50, 1.53?×?108 colony forming units (cfu)/ml), followed against the macropterous adult (LC50, 1.65?×?109?cfu/ml) and third-instar nymphs (LC50, 1.86?×?109?cfu/ml) at 5 days post-infection. The median lethal time values of 8?×?108?cfu/ml S. marcescens S-JS1 against the brachypterous adult, macropterous adult, and third-instar nymph were 4.5, 5.5, and 5.7 days, respectively. These results indicate that the S-JS1 isolate appears to be a promising S. marcescens strain with strong biocontrol potential against N. lugens.  相似文献

The chickpea pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) is one of the most destructive pests of India and most of the countries. In this experiment, sub-lethal effects of cypermethrin were evaluated against sixth instar larvae of this pest that had ingested insecticide-treated chickpea pods. The LC50, LC30 and LC10 values of cypermethrin were 80.38, 26.65 and 5.41?mg a.i.?L?1, respectively, against sixth instar. The sub-lethal effects on fitness, eggs, larvae, pupae, adult longevity and reproduction were observed in H. armigera population that survived exposure to the sub-lethal doses of LC50, LC30 and LC10 of cypermethrin. Survivorship was reduced to 36?days if H. armigera exposed to the sub-lethal dose of LC50, whereas it was 42?days in unexposed groups. Larvae treated with LC50 dose exhibit lowest intrinsic rate of increase (rm) (0.0413 females/female/day) and highest (0.0517) with the unexposed group. Time taken by H. armigera to complete one generation (Tc) was 40.09?days, while this time significantly lowered to 32.85?days when exposed to the sub-lethal dose of LC30. Hatching eggs were greatly reduced in the larvae exposed to cypermethrin at all the sub-lethal doses. About 430 eggs/female/generation were recorded after treatment with 80.38?mg/L as compared with untreated females (1390). Larvae that were exposed to sub-lethal concentrations of cypermethrin exhibited lower pupal weight and prolonged pupal developmental times compared control larvae. The overall fitness performance was better in the unexposed population as compared to the population exposed to sub-lethal doses.  相似文献
