Abstract

The contamination of toxic heavy metals was a major issue of concern in the last century. A fast-growing metal-accumulating woody plant is a promising approach for the remediation of toxic heavy metal. In this study, the transportation of heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd) in Paulownia fortunei cultivated in lead-zinc slag amended with different mass ratios of peat (CK: 0; T1: 10%; T2: 20%; T3: 30%) was investigated, as well as the subcellular distribution of Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd in Paulownia fortunei. The results showed that the accumulation content of Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd in Paulownia fortunei were increased with peat amendment, which was in the range of 4.216?~?6.853, 20.905?~?23.017, 1.898?~?2.572, and 0.530?~?0.616?mg/pot, respectivly. The experimental group with 30% dose of peat showed the best performance on the accumulation content of Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd, with increase rates (compared to control) of 4.088, 10.573, 1.360, and 0.294?mg/pot, respectively. The bioconcentration, translocation and transfer quantity factor of Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd were less than 1. Fixation of cell wall and compartmentalization of vacuolar appeared to play an important role in reducing the toxicity of Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd.  相似文献

Risk element (As, Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) contamination in soils and in two edible vegetables (Solanum melongena L. and Capsicum annum L.) was investigated in the vicinity of Guixi Smelter, South China. Soil As concentrations averaged 23.9 mg/kg. Sites near the smelter tailings recorded the highest levels of As and heavy metals in soils. The concentration order of heavy metals in soils was Cd < Pb < Zn < Cu. Cu and Cd in soils were abundant in the exchangeable and bound to carbonate fraction, while Pb and Zn were in the residual fraction, limiting their potential toxicity as pollutants. The proportions of the metals in the mobile fraction followed the order Pb < Zn < Cu < Cd. In Solanum melongena L. and Capsicum annum L., Zn concentration was the highest, followed by Cu, Cd, and Pb, different from that in soils and in the mobile fraction. Concentrations of heavy metals in the labile fractions in soils and in vegetables presented significant correlation (p < 0.05). Both of the two vegetables are not the Cu and Zn accumulators. As for Cd and As, Capsicum annum L. poses a higher risk to animal and human health than Solanum melongena L., with soil-plant transfer coefficients more than three. Root-stem is the main barrier for most of the heavy metals and As in the two vegetables, resulting in higher metal concentrations in roots relative to other plant tissues. The low stem-fruit transfer coefficients for Zn in Solanum melongena L. and for Pb in Capsicum annum L. suggested that very few of them could reach the fruits.  相似文献

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can promote plant growth and reduce plant uptake of heavy metals. Phosphorus (P) fertilization can affect this relationship. We investigated maize (Zea mays L.) uptake of heavy metals after soil AMF inoculation and P fertilization. Maize biomass, glomaline and chlorophyll contents and uptake of Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Cd and Pb have been determined in a soil inoculated with AMF (Glomus aggregatum, or Glomus intraradices) and treated with 30 or 60 µg P-K2HPO4 g?1 soil. Consistent variations were found between the two mycorrhizal species with respect to the colonization and glomalin content. Shoot dry weight and chlorophyll content were higher with G. intraradices than with G. aggregatum inoculation. The biomass was highest with 30 µg P g?1 soil. Shoot concentrations of Cd, Pb and Zn decreased with G. aggregatum inoculation, but that of Cd and Pb increased with G. intraradices inoculation. Addition of P fertilizers decreased Cd and Zn concentrations in the shoot. AMF with P fertilization greatly reduced maize content of heavy metals. The results provide that native AMF with a moderate application rate of P fertilizers can be exploited in polluted soils to minimize the heavy metals uptake and to increase maize growth.  相似文献

Aims and methods

Concentrations of heavy metals such as Cd, As, Hg, Pb, Cr, Cu, Zn and Ni in different tissues (seeds, roots and shoots) of the mature canola (Brassica napus L.) plants and in the associated rhizosphere soils from Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region of China, were determined to evaluate the heavy metals’ pollution in the soils and the canola seeds, and to discuss their accumulation and translocation characteristics in canola plants. At the same time, the phytoextraction potential of the canola plant for the above heavy metals was theoretically calculated and discussed on the basis of above measured data.

Results

The results showed that the concentration ranges of Cd, As, Hg, Pb, Cr, Cu, Zn and Ni in the rhizosphere soils were 0.115–0.481, 3.40–20.5, 0.069–0.682, 9.92–27.4, 46.8–86.6, 17.7–253.3, 65.2–511.7 and 16.0–37.8?mg?kg?1, respectively. The concentrations of Cu, Zn and Hg at some sampling sites exceeded the 2nd grade threshods of Chinese national environmental quality standard for soils. The potential ecological risk of heavy metals in the canola rhizosphere soils decreased in the order of Zhejiang > Shanghai > Jiangsu provinces. The concentration ranges of above heavy metals in the canola seeds were 0.032–0.067, 0.002–0.005, 0.001–0.005, 0.053–0.165, 0.191–0.855, 3.01–13.20, 34.82–96.95 and 0.343–2.86?mg?kg?1, respectively, with Cu and Zn at some sampling sites exceeding the permissible concentrations in foods of China. Heavy metals’ concentrations in canola seeds didn’t increase with their increasing concentrations in the rhizosphere soils. The bioconcentration factors (BCFs) of most heavy metals in the canola seeds decreased with their increasing concentrations in the associated rhizosphere soils. The average BCFs of heavy metals decreased in the order of Zn (0.488)>Cd (0.241)>Cu (0.145)>Ni (0.038)>Hg (0.021)>Pb (0.005)=Cr (0.005)>As (0.000) in the canola seeds, Cd (1.550)>Cu (0.595)>Zn (0.422)>Hg (0.138)>Ni (0.085)>Pb (0.080)>As (0.035)>Cr (0.031) in the roots, and Cd (0.846)>Zn (0.242)>Cu (0.205)>Hg (0.159)>Ni (0.031)>Pb (0.025)>As (0.012)>Cr (0.007) in the shoots, respectively. The accumulation capacity for most of the above heavy metals in the mature canola tissues was root > shoot > seed, with the exceptions of seed > root > shoot for Zn and shoot > root > seed for Hg. Except Hg from root to shoot and Zn from root to seed, translocation factors (TFs) of above heavy metals were lower than 1.0.

Conclusions

The concentrations, BCFs and TFs of above heavy metals in the canola tissues indicated that the investigated canola plants did not meet the criteria of hyperaccumulators for the above heavy metals. The phytoextracton potential of the studied canola plants for the above heavy metals from the polluted soils was very limited. It would take 920, 3,170 and 3,762?years (assuming two crops per year) to reduce the initial soil Zn, Cu and Hg concentrations, respectively, from the most polluted soil concentrations to the 2nd grade thresholds of Chinese national environmental quality standard for soils.  相似文献

This study evaluates heavy metal removal associated with phytomass management in a Typic Hapludox after three applications of pig slurry. Like humic acids in pig slurry were characterized through physics and chemical spectroscopy technics. Heavy metal levels were determined in ration that was offered to pigs, anaerobically digested pig slurry, and plant tissues from pig slurry-fertilized black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.) and ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) intercrop. Soil contamination was evaluated by the pseudo-total heavy metal levels in six soil layers and the bioavailable levels in the top soil layer. Results indicate that the ration is the origin of heavy metals in the pig slurry. The approximate levels in the ration were as follows (mg kg?1): Cu 23.9, Zn 92.02, 153.15, Mn 30.98, Ni 0.23, Pb 10.75, Cr 0.34, Co 0.08, and Cd 0.05. The approximate levels of these metals in the pig slurry were as follows (mg kg?1): Cu 71.08, Zn 345.67, Fe 83.02, Mn 81.71, Ni 1.13, Pb 4.35, Co 0.28, and Cd 0.16. Like humic acids contained 55% aliphatic chains, 14% oxygenated aliphatic chains, and 15% carboxyls, demonstrating their high capacity for interaction with heavy metals by forming soluble complexes. Soil contamination was indicated by the accumulation of heavy metals in the six soil layers in relation to the applied pig slurry dose (ranged as follows (mg kg?1): Cu 110 to 150, Zn 50 to 120, Ni 20 to 40, and Pb 12 to 16) and as bioavailable forms (levels ranged as follows (mg kg?1): Cu < 1, Zn 1.0–1.5, Ni 0.1–1.5, and Pb 1.9–6.3). The positive correlation between heavy metal accumulation in the plants and soil bioavailable heavy metal levels and the lowest heavy metal levels under higher intensity of phytomass removal demonstrate the ability of phytomass management to reduce soil contamination.  相似文献

The effects of heavy metals on the growth, mineral composition (P, K, Fe and Mn) and metal accumulation of five populations of Cistus ladanifer subsp. ladanifer from NE Portugal were investigated in hydroponic experiments. Plants were exposed to increasing concentrations (0–2000 M) of one of eight heavy metals: Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb or Zn. Populations of C. ladanifer, whose origin was ultramafic soils (S and UB) or soils developed on basic rocks (B), showed a higher tolerance to the metals Cd, Co, Cr, and Mn, and a considerable degree of tolerance to Ni. In contrast, populations originating on acid-rock soils (M and SC) showed higher tolerance to the metals Cu and Zn. Populations showed different patterns of metal accumulation and distribution in the plant parts, suggesting different mechanisms of metal tolerance are used. The more Cd-, Co- and Mn-tolerant populations (S, UB, B and SC (Cd)) showed accumulation of these three metals in the shoots (shoot:root metal concentration ratios (S:R) > 1). Shoot concentrations of up to 309 g Cd g–1, 2667 g Co g–1 and 6214 g Mn g–1 were found in these populations. The populations, UB and M, showed considerable tolerance to Ni and Zn, respectively. These populations accumulated up to 4164 g Ni g–1 and 7695 g Zn g–1 in their shoot tissues, and these metals were efficiently transported from the roots to aerial parts (S:R > 3 (Ni), S:R > 1 (Zn)). In contrast, the S and SC populations maintained higher growth rates in the presence of Ni and Zn, respectively, but showed exclusion mechanisms of metal tolerance: reduced Ni and Zn transport to shoots (S:R < 1). Cistus ladanifer was not able to efficiently transport Cr, Cu or Pb from its roots to its aerial parts (S:R ranged from 0–0.4). The more Cu-tolerant populations, M and SC, showed a greater restriction of Cu transport to the shoots than the ultramafic- or basic-rock populations. Significant changes in the plant mineral composition were found, however, concentrations were generally above mineral deficiency levels. Based on these preliminary results the possible usefulness of this plant for phytoremediation technologies is discussed. However, further investigations are necessary to evaluate its growth and metal accumulation under soil and field conditions.  相似文献

The study of the concentrations of Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, Ni, and Cu in soils under different land uses in rural, semi-urban, and urban zones in the Niger Delta was carried out with a view to providing information on the effects of the different land uses on the concentrations of trace elements in soils. Our results indicate significant variability in concentrations of these metals in soils under different land uses in rural, semi-urban, and urban zones. The maximum concentrations of metals in the examined soil samples were 707.5 mg.kg?1, 161.0 mg.kg?1, 2.6 mg.kg?1, 59.6 mg.kg?1, 1061.3 mg.kg?1, and 189.2 mg.kg?1 for Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, Ni, and Cu, respectively. In the rural zone, the cassava processing mill is a potent source of Ni, Cr, Cu, and Zn while agricultural activities are a source of Cd, and automobile emissions and the use of lead oxide batteries constitute the major sources of Pb. In the urban zone, soils around the wood processing mill showed elevated concentrations of Cu, Cr, Zn, and Ni, while soils around automobile mechanic works and motor parks showed elevated levels of Pb. Elevated Cd concentrations were observed in soils under the following land uses: urban motor park, playground, welding and fabrication sheds, and metallic scrap dump. The contamination/pollution index of metals in the soil follows the order: Ni > Cd > Cr > Zn > Cu > Pb. The multiple pollution index of metals at different sites were greater than 1, indicating that these soils fit into “slight pollution” to “excessive pollution” ranges with significant contributions from Cr, Zn, Cd, Ni, and Cu.  相似文献

Remediation of soils is vital to mitigate the negative effects of heavy metals in ecosystems. There is little information available about the metals’ phytostabilization potential of old man saltbush plants [Atriplex nummularia]. A pot experiment in a randomized complete block design was conducted to study the accumulation of heavy metals by old man saltbush plants, as affected by the application of compost and biochar. The cultivation of A. nummularia is an effective tool in immobilizing metals in the contaminated soils. The cultivation of metal-contaminated soil with A. nummularia reduced the availability of Zn, Cu, Cd, and Pb by 20%, 4%, 21%, and 28%, respectively, in comparison to the non-cultivated soil. Zn, Cu, Cd, and Pb concentrations in the aboveground parts of old man saltbush plants were 70–100, 50–80, 4–5, and 50–90 mg/kg of dry biomass. The higher Zn, Cu, Cd, and Pb concentrations were accumulated in the roots, and the lower concentrations were transferred to the shoots of old man saltbush plants. Compost reduced the concentration of Zn, Cu, Cd, and Pb in the shoots by 10%, 19%, 20%, and 6%, respectively, compared to the control soil. Biochar reduced the concentrations of Zn, Cu, and Pb in the shoots by 30%, 38%, and 44%, respectively, compared to the control. Compost had a lower effect in reducing the metals uptake as biochar. Biochar reduced the uptake of Zn, Cu, and Pb in the shoots of the tested plant by 22%, 23%, and 41%, respectively, in comparison to compost. Based on the obtained results, old man saltbush has good characteristics to be a promising candidate for phytostabilization strategies of metal-contaminated soils. Moreover, biochar is a good tool to enhance metals’ phytostablization.  相似文献

The input of heavy metals by atmospheric deposition to forested watersheds substantially decreased during the last decades in many areas. The goal of our study was to identify the present sinks and sources of metals and factors influencing metal mobility at the catchment and soil profile scale. We determined concentrations and fluxes of Cd, Zn, Cu, Cr and Ni in precipitation, litterfall, soil solutions (Oi, Oe, Oa horizon percolates, 20 and 90?cm soil depth) and runoff in a forest ecosystem in NE-Bavaria, Germany for 1?year. The metal concentrations in solutions were mostly <10???g?l?1 beside Zn (<1200???g?l?1). The present total deposition was estimated at 1.0, 560, 30, 1.2 and 10.4?g?ha?1?year?1 for Cd, Zn, Cu, Cr and Ni, respectively. The mass balance (total deposition minus runoff) at the catchment scale indicated actual retention of Zn, Cu and Ni, but an almost balanced budget for Cr and Cd. Considering the soil profile scale, the Oi horizon still acted as a sink, whereas the Oe and Oa horizons were presently sources for all metals. The solid?Csolution partitioning coefficients indicated higher mobility of Cd and Zn than of Cu, Cr and Ni in forest soils. In the mineral soil horizons, Kd values derived from field measurements were substantially larger than those predicted with empirical regression equations from Sauv?? et al. (Environ Sci Technol 34:1125?C1131, 2000; Environ Sci Technol 37:5191?C5196, 2003). The mineral soil acted as a sink for all metals beside Cd. Dissolved organic C and pH influenced the metal mobility, as indicated by significant correlations to metal concentrations in Oa percolates and runoff. The solid?Csolution partitioning coefficients indicated higher mobility of Cd and Zn than of Cu, Cr and Ni in forest soils. Overall, the decreased deposition rates have obviously induced a source function of the Oe and Oa horizon for metals. Consequently, mobilization of metals from forest floor during heavy rain events and near surface flow conditions may lead to elevated concentrations in runoff.  相似文献

Phytostabilization of heavy metals in contaminated soils should be subject to two conditions, the first is the choice plant must be able to stabilize heavy metals in soil, the second is the plant material which produced from the phytostabilization process must be safe and useful to avoid overload on environmental system. A field experiment was conducted out to evaluate the phytostabilization potential of two halophytes species (Atriplex lentiformis and Atriplex undulata). Compost at rates of 0, 15 and 30 ton ha?1 was used to examine its role in plant growth and heavy metals uptake. The high rate of compost (30 ton ha?1) decreased zinc (Zn) concentrations in the leaves of A. lentiformis and A. undulata by 15.8 and 13.0%, while lead (Pb) in the leaves decreased by 37.6 and 35.2% respectively. Despite the extremely high total heavy metals concentrations in the studied soil, plants of Atriplex were able to grow and maintain shoots metals content below the toxic level and the produced plant materials had a high nutritive value compared to the conventional forage crops. Phosphorus (P) and chloride (Cl) in the roots of Atriplex plants play important function in heavy metals phytostabilization mechanism by the two halophytes plants.  相似文献

Systematic site survey for sample collection and analysis was conducted at a derelict copper (Cu) mine at Kapunda, South Australia. Cu concentrations in the soils at this former mine ranged from 65–10107 mg kg?1. The pH and EC varied widely in the 3.9–8.4 and 152–7311 µS ranges, respectively. Nine plant species growing over the copper mine site were selected to screen for metal uptake to determine their suitability for phytoremediation. The Australian native tree species Eucalyptus camaldulensis indicated enrichment factor (EF) of 2.17, 1.89, and 1.30 for Cu, Zn, and Pb, respectively, suggesting that this species of tree can accumulate these metals to some degree. The stress-resistant exotic olive, Olea europaea exhibited EF of ≤ 0.01 for Cu, Cd, and Pb, and 0.29 for Zn, which is characteristic of an excluder plant. Acacia pycnantha, the Australian pioneer legume species with EF 0.03, 0.80, 0.32, and 0.01 for Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb, respectively, emerged as another strong metal excluder and consequently as an ideal metal stabilizer.  相似文献

Dissolved organic matter in poultry litter could contribute organic ligands to form complexes with heavy metals in soil. The soluble complexes with heavy metals can be transported downward and possibly deteriorate groundwater quality. To better understand metal mobilization by soluble organic ligands in poultry litter, soil columns were employed to investigate the movement of zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd), and lead (Pb). Uncontaminated soil was amended with Zn, Cd, and Pb at rates of 400, 8, and 200 mg kg ? 1 soil, respectively. Glass tubes, 4.9-cm-diameter and 40-cm-long, were packed with either natural or metal-amended soil. The resulting 20-cm-long column of soils had bulk density of about 1.58 g cm ? 3 . Columns repacked with natural or amended soil were leached with distilled water, 0.01 M EDTA, 0.01 M CaCl 2 , or poultry litter extract (PLE) solutions. Low amounts of Zn, Cd, and Pb were leached from natural soil with the solutions. Leaching of Zn, Cd, or Pb was negligible with distilled water. In the metal-amended soil, EDTA solubilized more Zn, Cd, and Pb than CaCl 2 and PLE. The breakthrough curves of Zn and Pb in the PLE and CaCl 2 were similar, indicating they have similar ability to displace Zn and Pb from soils. Compared with Zn and Cd the PLE had a small ability to solubilize Pb from metal-amended soil. Thus, the application of poultry litter on metal-contaminated soils might enhance the mobility of Zn and Cd.  相似文献

The ligands iodide (I?) and thiocyanate (SCN?), alone or in admixture, in combination with a non-ionic surfactant, Triton X-100, were evaluated as washing agents for heavy metal desorption from a contaminated soil. After seven successive washings, selective sequential extraction (SSE) was performed to determine the heavy metal content that remained associated with each geo-chemical fraction of the soil. The surfactant with 0.336 mol L?1 of ligand I? removed 75% Cd and 23% Cu, whereas the mobilization of Zn and Pb were not significant after 7 washings. At a concentration of 0.286 mol L?1, the ligand SCN? in the presence of surfactant removed 36% Cd, 44% Cu and 77% Zn. Among the washing agents, the combination of I? and SCN? produced the highest desorption efficiencies 95% Cd, 48% Cu, and 3.1% Pb, but not for Zn. The SCN? ligand extracted the most Zn (77%). The SSE procedure indicated that the I? removed metals from the exchangeable, carbonate and oxide fractions whereas SCN? removed metals only from the exchangeable fraction. Both ligands, in the presence of surfactant, removed Cu from all fractions except the exchangeable sites, whereas only SCN? plus surfactant removed Zn from all fractions. The ligand mixture plus surfactant mobilized only limited quantities of Pb from the oxide and residual fractions.  相似文献

Three Cd and Zn hyperaccumulating plant species Noccaea caerulescens Noccaea praecox and Arabidopsis halleri (Brassicacceae) were cultivated in seven subsequent vegetation seasons in both pot and field conditions in soil highly contaminated with Cd, Pb, and Zn. The results confirmed the hyperaccumulation ability of both plant species, although A. halleri showed lower Cd uptake compared to N. caerulescens. Conversely, Pb phytoextraction was negligible for both species in this case. Because of the high variability in plant yield and element contents in the aboveground biomass of plants, great variation in Cd and Zn accumulation was observed during the experiment. The extraction ability in field conditions varied in the case of Cd from 0.2 to 2.9 kg ha?1 (N. caerulescens) and up to 0.15 kg ha?1 (A. halleri), and in the case of Zn from 0.2 to 6.4 kg ha?1 (N. caerulescens) and up to 13.8 kg.ha?1 (A. halleri). Taking into account the 20 cm root zone of the soil, the plants were able to extract up to 4.1% Cd and 0.2% Zn in one season. However, cropping measures should be optimized to improve and stabilize the long-term phytoextraction potential of these plants.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of the multiflora rose var. “Jatar” (Rosa multiflora Thunb. ex Murray) and the Virginia fanpetals (Sida hermaphrodita Rusby) to phytoextract heavy metals from municipal sewage sludge. The 6-year field experiment involved four levels of fertilization with sewage sludge at doses of 0, 10, 20, 40, and 60 Mg DM (Dry Mass) sludge ha?1. The increasing doses of sewage sludge were found to significantly increase the yield of multiflora rose and Virginia fanpetals biomass. They also significantly increased the content of heavy metals in these plants. The highest uptake of heavy metals by the multiflora rose and Virginia fanpetals crops was recorded at the fertilization dose of 60 Mg DM ? ha?1. Our investigations show that the Virginia fanpetals was more efficient in the phytoextraction of Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Cd from the sewage sludge than the multiflora rose, due to the greater yields and higher heavy metal uptake by the former plant. In turn, the multiflora rose phytoextracted greater amounts of Pb from the sewage sludge. The analyses indicate that the Virginia fanpetals can be used for phytoremediation (phytoextraction) of heavy metals contained in sewage sludge.  相似文献

Abstract

Hydroponic, greenhouse and field experiments were conducted to explore the potential of pokeweed (Phytolacca americana L.) to accumulate Zn and Cd from nutrient solutions and contaminated soils. The hydroponic results confirmed that this native species is a strong Zn and Cd bioaccumulator that does not experience severe phytotoxicity until quite high root and shoot concentrations, approaching 4000 and 1600?mg?kg?1 of Zn, and 1500 and 500?mg?kg?1 of Cd, respectively. These high Zn and Cd concentrations were accompanied by increased sulfur and lower manganese in both shoots and roots. However, in field and greenhouse trials with soils historically contaminated by a number of heavy metals including Zn and Cd, concentrations of Zn and Cd in shoots of P. americana reached concentrations less than 30% and 10%, respectively, of those achieved with hydroponics. The main constraint to phytoremediation of soils by P. americana was the low concentrations of Zn and Cd in soil solution. Pretreatment of the metal-contaminated soil by oxalic acid increased soluble Cd and Zn but failed to increase plant uptake of either metal, a possible result of higher solubility of competing metal ions (Cu, Mn) or low bioavailability of Cd and Zn-oxalate complexes.  相似文献

The main aim of this study was to examine the influence of soil properties on the leaching of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn following the application of polluted sewage sludge to contrasting topsoils. Seventy agricultural soil samples from different parts of Spain were amended with a single dose of sewage sludge (equivalent to 50 t dry weight ha?1) and a column study was performed under controlled conditions. After two, four, and six months of incubation, 283 ml of distilled water (equivalent to a rainfall event of 25 l m?2) was applied. The leachates were then collected and analyzed for metals. For all of the soils considered, the pH was the most important parameter for the control of mobility metals (except for Cu, determined by the sand and soil organic carbon and only to a lesser extent by the soil pH r2 = 0.604, p < 0.001) and was negatively related to all of the studied metals. For Pb and Zn, soil pH was the single soil property explaining their mobility (r2 = 0.411, p < 0.001 for Pb; r2 = 0.713, p < 0.001 for Zn) while for Cd, Cr and Ni, EC, sand and silt also appeared in the statistical models (r2 = 0.753, p < 0.001 for Cd; r2 = 0.366, p < 0.001 for Cr; r2 = 0.784, p < 0.001 for Ni). In the basic soils, soil texture was the most important soil property controlling the mobility of metals (except for that of Pb, which it only weakly predicted). For the acidic-neutral soils, the soil pH was the most important soil property controlling metal mobility (except for that of Cr, which was mainly determined by the pseudo-total Cr content).  相似文献

This study was conducted to investigate heavy metal contamination in agricultural soils and their transfer in a soil-potato system. A total of 59 pairs of potato and soil samples, representing different locations were collected from Hamedan, western Iran and subjected to heavy metals analysis. Average concentrations of Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn were 1.2, 13.1, 161.4, 13.2, 3.2, 19.5, and 41.5 mg kg?1 dry weight in potato tubers, respectively. A sequence of decreasing plant transfer factors values: Cd > Pb > Cu > Zn > Ni ≥ Mn > Fe was obtained. Furthermore, the health risk index (HRI) values were within the safe limit (<1) except for Cd and Pb. HRI values for Cd and Pb were higher than 1, indicating potential health risk, especially for children. The results indicated that daily intakes of Cd and Pb in potato in the study area may present a future hazard.  相似文献
