The varieties of Bauhinia pottsii G. Don in Thailand (Leguminosae-Caesalpinioideae)

 Bauhinia pottsii G. Don, B. subsessilis Craib, B. velutina (Wall. ex Benth.) Baker, B. mollissima (Wall.) Prain, and B. decipiens Craib were recently recognized as five varieties of Bauhinia pottsii G. Don. They grow naturally in southern Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and the Malay Peninsula. Bauhinia pottsii var. decipiens (Craib) K. Larsen & S. S. Larsen is endemic to Thailand and known only from the type collection, so it was omitted from this study. Quantitative and qualitative morphological characters were examined in 200 specimens using multivariate and univariate analyses to determine the taxonomic relationship among the four. Some variation in qualitative characters was found between the varieties which separated them as previously defined in Flora of Thailand. Forty-three quantitative characters were subjected to cluster analysis to allow an objective classification into groups. The groups were subsequently evaluated by a canonical discriminant analysis. It was found that these characters collectively support the four varieties as defined by qualitative characters. However, the close relationship of varieties mollissima (Wall. ex Prain) K. Larsen & S. S. Larsen and velutina (Wall. ex Benth.) K. Larsen & S. S. Larsen is observed. The linear discriminant function has an overall rate of 98.5% correct classification and is useful for variety classification. Among quantitative characters, petal-claw length and ovarystalk length together with some qualitative characters are useful for key construction to separate the four varieties. 值得注意的中国南部植物

通过整理和研究华南植物园标本馆(IBSC)、中山大学植物标本馆(SYS)等馆藏标本,发现我国南部生长的而在《中国植物志》或“Flora of China”有未收载的物种及需处理1个新组合和2个新异名外,还有省级新记录等情况。现补充增加3个归化种白花假马鞭、毛苘麻和大花假番薯;广西2个新记录夜牵牛和红岩野桐(新组合);广东1个新记录粘毛苘麻,并处理本种的1个新异名;粗糠柴为西藏新记录。此外,处理隶于东南野桐的1个新异名;补充隶于草牵牛的1个异属名。     

广东楝科植物分类的初步研究

本文是对广东楝科植物种类的初步整理、研究,记载了16属33种7交种,包括本省产的13属27种7变种和外来引种的3属6种。其中有1个新变种(封开地黄连Munronia hainanensis How et T. Chen var. microphyllina X. M. Chen),3个新组合(曾椤Amoora tsangii (Merr.) X. M. Chen, 雷楝Reinwardtiodendron dubium (Merr.) X. M. Chen, 毛香椿Toona sinensis (A. Juss.) M. J. Roem. var. schensiana (C. DC.) X. M. Chen), 3个分布新记录[雷楝属Reinwardtiodendron (我国新记录),鹧鸪花Trichilia connaroides (W. et A.) Bentv. var. connaroides(广东新记录),海南(木坚)木Dysoxylvm hainanense Merr. var. hainanense(广东大陆新记录)].     

Studies in African Cyperaceae 27. Miscellaneous new taxa and combinations

One new form of Fuirena Rottb., one new subspecies of Schoenoplectus Palla and one new variety of Carex L. are described from East Africa, viz. Fuirena leptostachya Oliv. f. nudiflora Lye, Schoenoplectus lateriflorus (Gmel.) Lye ssp. laevinux Lye and Carex bequaertii De Wild. var. maxima Lye. 值得注意的中国植物

近年为研究中国的大戟科、檀香科等科的植物,对中山大学生物系植物标本馆（ＳＹＳ）、华南植物研究所标本馆（ＩＢＳＣ）等的标本予以重新鉴定．现将中国植物区系中一些属或种作必要的修订,增加《中国植物志》未收载的２个新记录种,处理１个新异名．     

Pollen Morphology of Thai species of Bauhinia (Caesalpiniaceae)

35 species of Bauhinia all occurring in Thailand have been studied by light and scanning electron microscopy. 15 pollen types based on sexine structure have been established. A correlation between pollen types and geographical distribution has been observed. On the basis of gross morphology there seems to be no reason for splitting up the genus into several smaller genera as proposed by some authors; however, raising the pollen types to taxonomic sections may be considered in a future revision.

One new combination and one new name have been established: B. bassacensis Pierre ex Gagnep. var. bakeri (de Wit) S. S. Larsen comb. nov. and B. bakeriana S S. Larsen nom. nov.     

大果滇新樟,广西新樟属一新变种

该文报道了我国樟科新樟属的一个新变种——大果滇新樟[Neocinnamomum caudatum(Nees)Merr.var.macrocarpum Wenbin Xu et B.S.Xia],该变种与原变种区别在于果实宽椭圆形,长近3 cm,宽达2cm,叶具明显离基三出脉(三出脉距叶基0.5 cm或更长),产自广西壮族自治区德保县东凌乡。     

Notulae de Gesneriaceie Sinensibus (IX)

Ten new species, three new varieties and a new section of the family Gesneriaceae are described from China in the present paper. They are Tremacron urceolatum K. Y. Notes on some species of Achasma (Zingiberaceae)

Six Indo–Chinese taxa of Achasma (Zingiberaceae) are discussed. Two new combinations are proposed: A. araneosum (Baker) K. Larsen and A. loroglossum (Gag–nep.) K. Larsen. Types have been selected for these and for A. pavieanum (Pierre ex Gagnep.) Loes.     

Micromorphological features of the seed surface of Schisandraceae and their systematic significance

Micromorphological features of the seed surface of the Schisandraceae are reported for the first time. One hundred and seventeen seed samples from 92 populations, representing 24 species, seven varieties and one form of the Schisandraceae, were examined and photographed under scanning electron microscope (SEM). Micromorphological features of seed surfaces of the Schisandraceae are little affected by the habitats in which plants grow, and are quite constant within species, therefore they can be used as reliable diagnostic characters to distinguish species. The following taxonomic treatments are not supported by micromorphological features observed: ( 1 ) To reduce Schisandra wilsoniana A. C. Smith to S. henryi Clarke; (2) To reduce S. neglecta A. C. He to S. elongata ( Bl. ) Baill.; (3) To reduce S. henryi var. longipes (Merr. & Chun) A. C. Smith, S. tomentella A. C. Smith and S. pubescens var. pubinervis (Rehd. & Wils.)A. C. Smith to S. pubescens Hemsl. & Wils.; (4) To reduce S. rubriflora(Franch.)Rehd. & Wils., S. flaccidiramosa C. R. Sun, S. incarnata Stapf, S. sphaerandra Stapf, S. sphaerandra f. pallida A. C. Smith and S. glaucescens Diels to S. grandiflora ( Wall. ) Hook. f. & Thoms.; (5) To reduce Schisandra wilsoniana to S. bicolor Cheng; (6) To reduce S. lancifolia var. polycarpa to S. neglecta; (7) To raise S. henryi var. longipes to S. longipes(Merr. & Chun)R. M. K. Saunders; (8) To reduce Kadsura polysperma Yang to K. heteroclita(Roxb. )Craib. The relationship between Schisan-dra Michx. and Kadsura Kaempf. ex Juss. revealed by the micromorphological features of seed surface is very similar to that revealed by pollen morphology, namely these two genera might have originated from a common ancestor and then evolved along two different routes. However the probability of a more complicated relationship between the two genera than we have known hitherto can not be excluded. The general evolutionary level of Kadsura seems to be higher than that of Schisandra. Therefore, the viewpoint that Kadsura is more primitive than Schisandra is not supported.     

Materials for Chinese Ainsliaea (Compositae)

The genus, Ainsliaea DC. from China is revised in this paper. Three species, A. nana Y. C. Tseng, A. pingbianensis Y. G. Tseng and A. trinervis Y. C. Tseng, are newly described; two species, A. chapaensis Merr. and A. angustifolia Hook. f. et Thoms. ex C. B. Clarke are new records for China and two new combinations, A. apteroides (Chang) Y. C. Tseng and A. macrocephala (Mattf.) Y. C. Tseng, are made. In addition, one species, A. hypoleuca Diels ex Limpr. and four varieties, A. bonatii Beauverd var. arachnoidea Beauverd, A. pteropoda DC. var. leiophylla Franch., A. elegans Hemsl. var. tomentosa Mattf. and A. glabra Hemsl. var. tenuiculis (Mattf.)Chang, are reduced to synonyms.     

安徽植物增补及地理新分布II

本文第二次增补《安徽植物志》未记入的植物22种5变种。其中20种3变种为安徽地理新分布, 3属(白屈菜属、离子芥属和石莲属)为安徽地理新分布属。本文所引用的植物标本,全部收藏于安微大学资源植物标本室。     

Studies in African Cyperaceae 21. New taxa and combinations in Kyllinga Rottb.

Eight new species, one new subspecies and one new variety of Kyllinga are described from tropical Africa, viz. Kyllinga brunneoalba Lye, K. afropumila Lye, K, albogracilis Lye, K. aureovillosa Lye, K. alba–purpurea Lye, K. rhizomafragilis Lye, K. microbracleata Lye, K. afro–occidentalis Lye, K. erecta Schumacher ssp. albescens Lye, and K. melanosperma Nees var. hexalata Lye. In addition nine new combinations are made, viz. Kyllinga peteri (Kükenthal) Lye, K. bigibbosa (Fosberg) Lye, K. odorata Vahl ssp. appendiculata (K. Schum.) Lye, K. alba Nees ssp. ascolepidioides (H. Cherm.) Lye, K. nervosa Steudel ssp.flava (C.B.C1.) Lye, K. melanosperma Nees ssp. elata (Steudel) Lye, K. brevifolia Rottb. ssp. lurida (Kükenthal) Lye, K. bre–vifolia Rottb. ssp. intricata (H. Nordic equiseticolous Pyrenomycetes

The Pyrenomycete flora on Equisetum has been studied, mainly on Nordic material. With regard to frequency and host specificity these fungi can be divided into three groups, viz. 1) true Equisetum fungi; 2) common species but not restricted to Equisetum; 3) accidental species. An annotated list is given of the two first categories which comprise the following taxa. 1: Didymosphaeria equiseti–hiemalis, Phaeosphaeria berlesei, P. equiseti, Mycosphaerella equiseti, M. equiseticola, Scirrhia castagnei, S. silvalica , and probably Didymella equisetina. 2: Phaeosphaeria eustoma, P. fuckelii, Mycosphaerella cf. aspidii.
Two new taxa and one new combination are published, viz. Phaeosphaeria equiseti (Karst.) L. & K. Holm comb, nov., P. equiseti var. lindii L. & K. Holm var. nov., Scirrhia silvalica L. & K. Holm sp. nov.

Nuovo elenco di muschi Cusiani (Piemonte)

Abstract

New list of mosses in the Cusian woods (Orta Lake. Piedmont). — The author draws up a list of new entities and new places in the Cusian region, in addition to the entities already listed in his previous works, about wood mosses in the region, mentioned in the bibliography. The distinctive characters with reference to the known species and formes are emphasized. The boundaries of the considered region, the different kinds of woods as well as some geomorphologic, geologic and climatic notes have been explained in the previous works, together with a short account about the previous bryological researches that have been carried out in the region, from DE NOTARIS (1805-1877) onwards. 海南产鳞始蕨属(鳞始蕨科)的分类学修订

澄清海南有鳞始蕨属Lindsaea Dryand.植物11种和1变种,其中碎叶鳞始蕨L. chingii C. Chr.为海南分布新记录。讨论了团叶鳞始蕨L. orbiculata (Lam.) Mett. ex Kuhn和钱氏鳞始蕨L. chienii Ching的形态变异。4个学名, 即L. annamensis K. U. Kramer、海南鳞始蕨L. hainanensis Ching、封开鳞始蕨L. fengkaiensis B. S. Wang &; S. H. Shi和海岛鳞始蕨L. orbiculata var. commixta (Tagawa) K. U. Kramer处理为异名。列出了分种检索表, 在每一分类群下列有文献引证、标本引证、生境及分布资料。     

国产黄杨科五种植物的考订

对国产黄杨科５ 种植物作了分类学修订或补充： 将雀舌黄杨归入匙叶黄杨, 中间黄杨归入黄杨, 多毛板凳果归入板凳果, 双蕊野扇花归入羽脉野扇花; 恢复黄杨和尖叶黄杨的原学名;报道宜昌黄杨在湖南的新记录。
