Two new species of the genus Eotmethis from China (Orthoptera: Acridioidea: Pamphagidae)

Two new species of the genus Eotmethis Bey-Bienko, 1948 are described in this paper, namely E. daqingshanensis sp. nov. and E. gansuensis sp. nov. from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Gansu Province, respectively. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, China.     

One new genus and three new species of wingless grasshoppers from Xizang,China(Orthoptera:Acridoidea)

One new genus and three new species of wingless grasshoppers,i.e.Pseudozubovskia gen.nov.,Pseudozubovskia xizangensis sp.nov.,Eokingdonella gongbugyanda sp.nov.,Dysanema magna sp.nov.are described.The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology,Shaanxi Normal University.     

A new species and a new combination of Arcypteridae from China (Orthoptera: Acridoidea)

A new species, Chorthippus(Altichorthippus) qixingtaiensis sp. nov. from China is described in this paper. The new species is similar to C.(A.) changtunensis Yin, 1984, but different by: prozona longer than metazoan, maximum width of medial area of tegmen about 2 times as maximum width of cubital area in male, base of hind femur without dark sloping stripe on inner side and length of interspace of mesosterum shorter than minimum width in female. A new combination Magaulacobothrus tianshanensis(Zheng, Ma Ren, 2009) comb. nov. is reported. The type specimens are deposited in the College of Plant Protection, Shandong Agricultural University, Taian, Shandong, China.     

福建省蝗虫二新种（直翅目：蝗总科）

本记述采自福建武夷山地区蝗虫二新种,即曲缘卵翅蝗Caryanaa curvbnargina sp．n．亚武夷山雏蝗Chorthip pus wuyishanensis sp．n．     

Major threats to a protected grasshopper, Prionotropis hystrix rhodanica (Orthoptera, Pamphagidae, Akicerinae), endemic to southern France

Prionotropis hystrix rhodanica Uvarov, 1923 is a protected grasshopper, endemic to the Crau plain area (a few thousand square kilometres), in southern France. It is restricted to a specific and very characteristic type of vegetation, locally called coussou.This biotope is currently being increasingly fragmented. This subspecies could disappear in a few years as a consequence of the increase in agricultural areas and of industrial parks. It is necessary to adopt measures rapidly for ameliorating the loss of this biotope. It is of prime importance to stop the increase of new agricultural or industrial areas, to create nature reserves for maintaining areas of natural coussou, particularly large fragments (more than 1000 ha) and to implement cultivated land remediation. Areas that are too small, too disturbed or too isolated will not be sufficient to ensure the survival of this brachypterous, highly sedentary and vulnerable grasshopper.     

Taxonomic study of the genus Deltonotus Hancock (Orthoptera: Cladonotidae) with description of a new species

The genus Deltonotus Hancock, 1904 was reviewed, including one new species, D. wuzhishanensis sp. nov. A key to species of the genus Deltonotus Hancock, 1904 is given. The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Shaanxi Normal University.     

The genus Batozonellus from China with description of a new species (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae)

The genus Batozonellus(Pompilidae: Pompilinae) from China is reviewed. A new species, B. flavithoracicus Li Li, sp. nov. from Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated. A key to the Chinese species of Batozonellus, modified from Tsuneki(1989), is provided.     

A new genus and four new species of Eriophyidae from China (Acari: Eriophyoidea)

One new genus and four new species of eriophyoid mites from Hainan, China are described and illustrated in this paper: Dicoxiseta Wang, Tan & Yang, gen. nov., D. litsea Wang, Tan & Yang, sp. nov. infesting Litsea monopetala(Roxb.) Pers.(Lauraceae), Eriophyes casearius Wang, Yang & Tan, sp. nov. infesting Casearia glomerata Roxb.(Flacourtiaceae), Phyllocoptruta alstonia Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov. infesting Alstonia scholaris(L.) R. Br.(Apocynaceae) and Aculus paederius Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov. infesting Paederia scandens(Lour.) Merr.(Rubiaceae). Tegolophus artocarpi Keifer, 1977 is newly recorded from China. E. casearius Wang, Yang & Tan, sp. nov. distorts severely new foliage of its host plant. Three species, P. alstonia Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov., A. paederius Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov. and T. artocarpi, cause rust on the undersurfaces of host plants, while D. litsea Wang, Tan & Yang, sp. nov. is a vagrant on the undersurface of host plant leaves, without visible symptom.     

贵州省波蚱属三新种记述（直翅目：短翼蚱科）

本文记述采自贵州省波蚱属三新种：即拟西藏波蚱Bolivaritettixparatibetanissp．nOV．、长跗波蚱Bolivaritettlxdolichotarsus sp．nov．及齿背波蚱Bolivaritettixdentanotasp．nOV．。模式标本保存于陕西师范大学动物研究所及河北大学博物馆。     

甘肃省蚱科--新种记述(直翅目:蚱总科)

记述了采自甘肃省蚱科一新种,即圆肩蚱（Tetrix tereeshumerus sp．nov．）。该新种近似于神农架蚱（Tetrix shenglonjiaensis Zheng,Li and Wei）,主要区别为：（1）头顶宽为1眼宽的2倍;（2）头顶前缘圆弧形,明显突出于眼前;（3）侧面观,颜面隆起在侧单眼前直;（4）前胸背板后突到达后足股节2／3处;（5）沟前区侧隆线平行;（6）肩角圆弧形;（7）肩部之间不具一对短纵隆线;（8）后翅到达后足股节中部;（9）中足股节明显大于前翅宽;（10）雌性下生殖板长大于宽。新种的模式标本保存于陕西师范大学动物研究所。     

无前恙螨属--新种记述(蜱螨目:恙螨科)

本描述了采自江苏马铁菊头蝠(Rhinolophus ferrum-eguinum)翅上的无前恙螨属一新种,即宜兴无前恙螨[Walchia(Walchia)neeshini Wang et Xia,sp．nov]。模式标本保存于复旦大学上海医学院寄生虫学教研室。     

中国印度茧蜂属Indiopius Fischer一新种(膜翅目:茧蜂科)

本文记述了茧蜂科Braconidae潜蝇茧蜂亚科Opiinae印度茧蜂属Indiopius的1个新种：Indiopius alutacius Weng et Chen sp.nov.。这是该属在中国分布的首次记录。建立了世界已知3种的分种检索表。本新种与矮茧蜂I.humillimus Fischer相似,但新种可以由下列特征予以区别：1.并胸腹节革质纹,后缘具短纵脊;2.第1腹节背板长为宽的1.2-1.3倍;3.腹板侧泡明显具齿。模式标本保存于福建农林大学益虫研究室。     

A new genus and two new species of aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae) from north-west India

A new aphid genus Raychaudhuriella and two new specices viz. Raychaudhuriella myzaphoides and Rhopalosiphoninus sensoriatus are described from Himachal Pradesh, north-west Himalaya. The affinity of Raychaudhuriella gen. nov. is drawn with Aspidophorodon Verma, Cavariela del Guercio, Myazphis van der Goot, Tricaudatus Narzikulov and Vesiculaphis del Guercio. Figures and biometrical data of the new species have been provided.     

Black-tie dress code: two new species of the genus Toxomerus (Diptera, Syrphidae)

Toxomerus hauseri Mengual sp. n. and Toxomerus picudus Mengual sp. n. are described from Peru and Ecuador respectively. Toxomerus circumcintus (Enderlein, 1938) is treated as a valid species and not considered synonym of Toxomerus marginatus, and Toxomerus ovatus (Hull, 1942) is considered junior synonym of Toxomerus nitidus (Schiner, 1868). An identification key for the Toxomerus species with dark abdomens is given along with diagnoses for each studied species.     

A new species and a new record of the genus Balanococcus Williams(Hemiptera:Coccoidea:Pseudococcidae) from China

A new species and a new record of the genus Balanococcus Williams are described from China.They are B.zhejiangensis sp.nov.and B.kwoni Pellizzari Danzig,2007.The new species,collected from Zhejiang,China under leaf sheath of Phyllostachys praecox,is similar to B.kwoni Pellizzari Danzig,but can be distinguished by its hind coxa inflated,and only small type of oral collar tubular ducts present on dorsal surface.A key to Chinese species of Balanococcus is given.All specimens examined are deposited in the Insect Collection of Beijing Forestry University.     

Two new species of the genus Teredorus Hancock, 1906 (Orthoptera,Tetrigidae) from China,with a key to the species of the genus

Taxonomy of a tetrigid genus Teredorus Hancock is reviewed. Two new species, Teredorus parvipulvillussp. n. and Teredorus hunanensissp. n. are described from China and an updated identification key to all known species of the genus is given, as well as brief comments on phylogenetic relationships, biology and ecology.     

Two new species of grasshopper from China (Orthoptera:Pyrgomorphidae)

The genus Chlorizeina Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893 is firstly recorded for China. Two new species, Chlorizeina yunnana sp. nov. and Tagasta nigritibia sp. nov. are reported from China. All specimens are deposited in the Biological Science Museum, Dali University(BMDU).     

A new genus and species of deepwater codfish (Pisces: Moridae) from New Zealand

Abstract

Momonatira globosus, a new monotypic genus and species of Moridae, is described from five specimens taken in 1153–1184 m from South Canterbury Bight, New Zealand. Spindle shaped otoliths indicate affinities with genera within the Physiculus group. Momonatira is distinctive in having broad fleshy bases to the dorsal and anal fins; a very large globular head; no light organ or barbel; 5–6 rays in the ventral fin; the lower jaw included and in other characters.
