报道了中国南海蛇鳗科1新纪录属Echelus Rafinesque,1810和1新纪录种Echelus uropterus(Temminck et Schlegel,1846).该属的特征为:尾鳍、胸鳍存在;背鳍起点在胸鳍后端之前;头部无额骨孔、眶后孔和上颞骨孔;鳃孔中等大;鳃膜骨条连于舌骨或上舌骨尖前.该种的特征:尾尖柔软;颌齿和犁骨齿颗粒状,带形;后鼻孔在上唇边缘外侧.  相似文献

A new chimaerid species closely related to Hydrolagus pallidus is described from 13 specimens captured on the Portuguese continental slope (north‐east Atlantic) by commercial longliners at depths of c . 1600 m. The new species is large‐bodied with a rose to light brown body colouration. Hydrolagus lusitanicus n.sp. presents a combination of external morphological characters that allow it to be clearly differentiated from its congeners, in particular, the ratios of pectoral fin length: pectoral fin width and pelvic fin length: pelvic fin width; in having a serrated posterior edge of the dorsal spine; a high number of ridges in the dental plates. Additionally in males, there are differences on the shape and number of hooks in the frontal tenacula, on the number of spines in the prepelvic tenacula and on the length of the pectoral fin margin.  相似文献

The osteology of Ilyophis blachei was described and shown to conform largely with that of its congeners, I. arx and I. brunneus . In detail, however, I. blachei revealed a new combination of features. It bears fused frontals, a rod-like pterygoid inserted on the almost vertical suspensorium, a third pair of posteriorly directed cartilaginous hypobranchials, a single pair of pharyngobranchials and a tube-like preoperculum. The new information was used to augment a preliminary diagnosis of this morphologically variable family with osteological characters.  相似文献

A new genus and species of deep-sea zoarcid fish, Pyrolycus manusanus, is described on the basis of eight specimens collected from a hydrothermal vent field in the Manus Basin, Papua New Guinea, at depths of 1623–1971 m. This genus is distinguished from other scaleless eelpout genera in the subfamily Lycodinae by the following combination of characters: six suborbital bones; six to seven suborbital pores; flesh gelatinous; gill slit large, extending ventrally beyond pectoral fin base; three postorbital pores; single occipital pore; two to three pelvic fin rays; palatopterygoid series weak; vomer and palatine teeth present; pseudobranch, scales, lateral line absent; pyloric caeca present; 16–17 pectoral fin rays; 22–23 + 56–59 = 78–81 vertebrae. Gazza squamiventralis sp. nov. is described as the fifth species of the genus, based on the holotype and eight paratypes, 42–96 mm in standard length, collected along the east coast of Africa, from Kenya to Mozambique. The species is similar to other congeners in general appearance, differing clearly from them in having the ventrolateral surface of the body scaled anterior to a line from the pectoral fin base to the pelvic fin origin (vs naked) and a smooth supraorbital ridge (vs finely serrated). Additionally, the species differs from G. dentex, G. rhombea, and G. achlamys in having the dorsolateral surface of the body scaled anterior to a vertical through the tip of the posterior branch of the supratemporal canal (vs corresponding region naked), and from G. minuta in having the first dorsal fin pterygiophore narrowly expanded anteriorly, with a concave margin (vs broadly expanded, with a convex or linear margin), and a short antrorse extension of the first anal fin pterygiophore (vs long). Five new species of the genus Poromitra (family Melamphaidae) belonging to the group of species P. crassiceps are described. An important specific feature of this group is the structure of praeoperculum in which bony crests of the anterior edge are at an acute angle to each other, and the posterior and lower edges are uniformly (without break) spinulated with small spinules. In P. decipiens sp. nova described from the Indian Ocean (from the East Indian Ridge), the insertion of ventral fins is located posteriorly the vertical of the posterior edge of pectoral fin insertion, which makes this species similar to P. crassiceps and P. rugosa. The remaining four species have the insertion of ventral fins anteriorly the vertical (or at its level) of the posterior edge of pectoral fin insertion (as in P. unicornis and P. coronata). P. curilensis sp. nova inhabits the northern part of the Pacific Ocean from the Kuril Islands and the Japanese Islands to the Gulf of Alaska; P. indooceanica sp. nova is described from several individuals from the subtropical part of the Indian Ocean; P. glochidiata sp. nova, from catch in the Great Australian Bight; and P. kukuevi sp. nova, from the individual from the western tropical part of the Atlantic Ocean.  相似文献

The role of the pectoral fin bud for outgrowth by fin axons was assessed by ablation of pectoral fin buds and by transplantation of fin buds to ectopic sites in the embryos of the Japanese medaka fish (Oryzias latipes). Normally nerves from segments 1-4 (S1-4) and less frequently the S5 nerve converged at the base of the fin bud by extending toward the fin bud on the ventral surface of the axial muscles (H. Okamoto and J. Y. Kuwada, 1991, Dev. Biol. 146). Following ablation of the fin bud before motor growth cones have begun to extend laterally, nerves in S1-5 followed a trajectory down the middle of each segment parallel to the borders of the metamerically arranged axial muscles rather than converging. This trajectory was similar to that of more posterior segmental nerves which do not converge toward the fin bud. When fin buds were transplanted to more posterior segments, nerves from S1-5 often changed their trajectories and extended to the base of ectopic buds. Furthermore, motor nerves from segments posterior to S5, which normally do not innervate the fin bud, also extended to the ectopic fin bud. When faced with both the host and ectopic fin bud, motor nerves extended to either fin bud or branched and extended to both fin buds. These results demonstrate that the early fin bud is necessary for correct outgrowth of fin nerves and suggest that the fin bud normally attracts fin nerves to its base. One possible mechanism for the attraction of motor growth cones by the fin bud is a long distance cue emitted by the fin bud.  相似文献

The cutthroat eel Dysomma alticorpus n. sp. is described based on a single specimen collected in a trammel net at a depth of 350 m off Eilat, Israel, Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea. The new species belongs to the Dysomma anguillare species complex, which comprises species possessing a well-developed pectoral fin, intermaxillary teeth, a uniserial row of 7–15 large compound teeth in the lower jaw (which may be followed by a few smaller teeth), and an anteriorly situated anus with the trunk shorter than the head length. It is characterised by a combination of the following characters: origin of the dorsal fin well anterior to the base of the pectoral fin, predorsal length 13.8% TL; preanal length 22.8% TL; three compound teeth on the vomer; head pores: IO 4, SO 3; M 6; POP 0; AD 1, F 0, ST 0; lateral-line pores: predorsal 4, prepectoral 8, preanal 14, total 57–58, the last at the posterior two-thirds of the total length; MVF 7–16–115; total vertebrae 115. Dysomma alticorpus n. sp. is compared with other species of the genus. A revised key to the species of the genera Dysomma and Dysommina is provided.  相似文献

Two anthiine fishes from the eastern tropical Atlantic are described as newHolanthias cyprinoides andAnthias helenensis. The former is distinguished from the other Atlantic species ofHolanthias in having the forked caudal fin with rounded lobes and from the Indo-Pacific species in having no elongated dorsal spines or soft rays. The latter is closely related toAnthias asperilinguis Günther (South America, Atlantic coast), but differs from it in having more pectoral fin rays and more gill rakers. The present investigation onAnthias suggests that AtlanticAnthias is a genus distinct fromPseudanthias of the Indo-Pacific.  相似文献

Neolumpenus unocellatus gen. et sp. nov., a stichaeid fish (subfamily Lumpeninae,sensu Makushok, 1958) is described on the basis of a single specimen found in the stomach of the Pacific cod,Gadus macrocephalus Tilesius, caught off Akkeshi, Hokkaido, Japan. The new genus and species is distinguished from all other lumpenines in having the following combination of characters: 1) 51 dorsal spines, 33 anal fin rays, 57 total vertebrae; 2) broad pelvic fin with deeply-branched soft rays; 3) lower rays of pectoral fin branched and not prolonged backward; 4) prevomerine and palatine teeth present; 5) pungent spines present in pelvic and anal fins; 6) upper lip fused to snout anteriorly; 7) gill openings not extending forward beyond a vertical through posterior margin of eye; 8) minimal (fifth) hypural present; 9) first interneural spine inserted between first and second neural spines; 10) extremely large cephalic sensory pores present; 11) high, steep snout; 12) ocellus on dorsal base of caudal fin.  相似文献

A new genus, Macrosmia , and species ( M. phalacra ) of benthopelagic macrourid fish is described from single male specimens caught in 1650–1699 m soundings in the northeastern Atlantic and south-eastern Indian Oceans. This elongate macrourine rattail, with 7 branchiostegal and 11–12 pelvic rays, is unique in its massive olfactory organ, the cavity of which almost equals the diameter of the orbit. This cavity is a reverse D-shape, with the posterior margin deforming the orbital rim into a D-shape. Macrosmia has a short deep snout, lacks prominent ridges on the head, has anteriorly placed plevic fins and a weakly serrated second spinuous ray in the first dorsal fin. The anus is contiguous with the anal fin. These characters, among others, show affinity with the Cetonurus group of genera. The distribution and diet of the species is briefly discussed and M. phalacra is shown to be at least partly dependent on benthic food which, from one example, is of crustacean origin.  相似文献

Comparative analysis was performed of morphological characters and coloration elements in goatfish of the genus Mullus from collections of the Zoological Museum (Moscow State University, Russian Academy of Sciences), on the basis of which individuals from Atlantic waters off the coasts of western Africa were identified as M. argentinae. Brief characteristics of all valid species of the genus are presented; the main diagnostic characters include: ratio between the length of the barbels and pectoral fins, number of pyloric caeca, and the presence of a dark spot (or stripe) in the upper part of dorsal fin. The Mediterranean populations of M. surmuletus are separated as a special subspecies M. surmuletus fuscatus, and M. argentinae from eastern Atlantic is described as a new subspecies M. argentinae africanus.  相似文献

A new species of the genus Sinocyclocheilus is described based on specimens collected from Zuojiang River drainage, Guangxi, China. The new species, named Sinocyclocheilus jinxiensis, is distinguished from all congeners by its vestigial eyes, short barbels, long pectoral fin, eight to nine branched dorsal-fin rays, last unbranched dorsal-fin ray soft with serrations on posterior edge of its lower part, and 38–41 lateral line scales.  相似文献

A new cave‐dwelling loach of the genus Triplophysa, T. xichouensis, is described from an outlet of a subterranean river in Xisa Town, Xichou County, Yunnan Province, China. It can be distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: dorsal‐fin rays iii, 8; anal‐fin rays ii, 6; pectoral‐fin rays i, 9 or 10; pelvic‐fin rays i, 5 or 6; branched caudal‐fin rays 16(8+8); eyes highly degenerated to a very tiny black dot; dorsal‐fin origin closer to snout tip than to caudal‐fin base and anterior to vertical line of pelvic‐fin origin; pectoral fin length about two‐thirds the distance between pectoral‐fin origin to pelvic‐fin origin; caudal peduncle slender, its length about three times its depth; caudal fin emarginate; body smooth and scaleless; lateral line complete and straight; anterior chamber of air bladder wrapped in dumbbell‐shaped bony capsule and the posterior one well developed, long, oval; intestine short, bending in zigzag shape behind stomach. Pelagic juvenile pipefishes, representing three genera previously unrecorded from the eastern Atlantic region, are reported from collections of the 1928–30 DANA expedition. Cosmocampus retropinnis sp. n., with dorsal-fin origin on tail and 6.75–8.0 subdorsal rings (S Morocco to Gambia), Minyichthys sentus sp. n., with patches of spinules on snout and 42 tail rings (W Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean off N Morocco and Canary Is.), and Amphelikturus sp. (off Sierra Leone) are described and figured. The subgenus Minyichthys Herald and Randall is rediagnosed as a genus characterized, in part, by an 8-rayed caudal fin. A key is provided to the nine genera of Syngnathidae known from the eastern Atlantic region.  相似文献

Two new species and a new record of Sinogastromyzon are described from Lixianjiang River of Yunnan province, China. Sinogastromyzon lixianjiangensis, new species, can be distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: pectoral fin with XIII–XIV, 15–17 rays; pelvic fin with X–XI, 10–12 rays; 60–65 lateral-line scales; no scales on the dorsum of paired fins or the region between axilla of pectoral fin and pelvic-fin origin; tip of pelvic fin close to anus; tip of anal fin close to caudal-fin base; anal-fin origin nearer to the caudal-fin base than to the posterior pelvic-fin base; anus nearer to anal-fin origin than to the posterior pelvic-fin base; dorsal side of the body with 9–11 black blotches. Sinogastromyzon macrostoma, new species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: pectoral fin with XII–XIV, 12–15 rays; pelvic fin with VII–IX, 11–13 rays; 48–56 lateral-line scales; mouth extremely big, slightly arched; no scales on the dorsum of paired fins or the region between axilla of pectoral fin and pelvic-fin origin; tip of pelvic fin far beyond anus; tip of anal fin far from caudal-fin base; anal-fin origin about midway between the posterior pelvic-fin base and caudal-fin base; anus nearer to posterior pelvic-fin base than to anal-fin origin; dorsal side of the body uniformly gray, without regular blotches in formalin preserved specimen. WithAcanthodes bourbonensis n.sp. another acanthodian from Lower Permian basins of Europe is described. The new species is similar toAcanthodes gracilis (Beyrich) from Silesia (Poland), but it differs from this and all other species of the genus in the development of the pectoral fins, dorsal fin, anal fin and caudal fin. In pectoral fins, dorsal and anal fin there are different ceratotrichia as supporting elements and pectoral fins are attaching along a row of oblonged large scales. A new shrimp-associated goby,Amblyeleotris melanocephala, is described on the basis of specimens from Okinoshima Island. Kochi Prefecture, and Okinawa Island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The species is distinguished from other members of the genus by the following combination of characters: head dark brown, a few yellow spots on pectoral fin base and opercular margin, 13 second dorsal and 13 anal fin soft rays, 20 pectoral fin rays, longitudinal scales 92–101, proportional length of interpelvic connecting membrane relative to longest pelvic fin ray (CM-value) 0.46–0.55, presence of a ventral frenum, midline of nape naked, sides scaled above midpoint between preopercle and opercle.  相似文献

In the fourth part of the revision of the genus Melamphaes (Melamphaidae) multi-raker species (20 and more rakers at the first gill arch, rarely 19??in M. ebelingi) with eight soft rays in the ventral fin are considered. In this species, temporal spine is absent, there are 15 rays in the pectoral fin, and there are 11 to 12 abdominal vertebrae. M. ebelingi inhabits tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean. A new catch of this rare species in the northeastern part of the ocean is reported. The new species M. occlusus is described from one specimen from the subtropical part of the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean. Still another new species, M. nikolayi, is described from one specimen from the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean (subtropical waters). A table for identification of 15 multi-raker species of the genus Melamphaes is provided.  相似文献
