We provide information about the morphology and new findings of 15 rare fish species from the families Bathyclupeidae, Callionymidae, Champsodontidae, Cottidae, Gobiidae, Lophichthyidae, Melanostomiidae, Moridae, Oneirodidae, Paralepididae, Pegasidae, Platycephalidae, and Uranoscopidae. Two new species are described: Thysanophrys haploblepharis sp. n. (Platycephalidae) from the Western Indian Ocean and Vanderhorstia stegauchenia sp. n. (Gobiidae) from the South China Sea. The new synonymy is established: Cottus dybowskii Hilgendorf, 1879 = Myoxocephalus brandtii. 相似文献

The Oriental neotenic net-winged beetles attracted attention of biologists due to conspicuous large-bodied females; nevertheless phylogenetic relationships remain contentious and only a few species are known in both the fully metamorphosed males and neotenic females. The phylogenetic analyses and morphology of larvae and adults provide data for investigation of relationships and species delineation. Platrilus Kazantsev, 2009, Platerodriloplesius Wittmer, 1944, and Falsocalochromus Pic, 1942 are synonymized to Platerodrilus Pic, 1921. Platrilus hirtus (Wittmer, 1938) and Pl. crassicornis (Pic, 1923) are transferred to Platerodrilus Pic, 1921. Platerodrilus hoiseni Wong, 1996 is proposed as a junior subjective synonym of Falsocalochromus ruficollis Pic, 1942. Platerodrilus is divided in three species-groups: P. paradoxus, P. major, and P. sinuatus groups defined based on the shape of genitalia and molecular phylogeny. The following species are described: Platerodrilus foliaceus
sp. n., P. wongi
sp. n. (P. paradoxus group); P. ngi
sp. n., P. wittmeri (P. major group), P. ijenensis
sp. n., P. luteus
sp. n., P. maninjauensis
sp. n., P. montanus
sp. n., P. palawanensis
sp. n., P. ranauensis
sp. n., P. sibayakensis
sp. n., P. sinabungensis
sp. n., P. talamauensis
sp. n., and P. tujuhensis
sp. n. (P. sinuatus group). P. korinchiana robinsoni Blair, 1928 is elevated to the species rank as P. robinsoni Blair, 1928, stat. n. The conspecific semaphoronts are identified using molecular phylogeny for P. foliaceus
sp. n., P. tujuhensis
sp. n., P. montanus

The Western Hemisphere genus Pseudomorpha Kirby 1825 was last revised by Notman in 1925 based on only a few known species (22) and paltry few specimens (73); other authors have added an additional six species represented by 53 additional specimens since 1925. Baehr (1997) assigned three species from Australia to this genus, albeit in a new subgenus, Austropseudomorpha Baehr 1997. A recent study of collections from throughout the Americas (1757 specimens) has revealed numerous new species that can be arrayed across 19 species groups based on a suite of attributes, some used by Notman and others newly discovered. A taxonomic revision of the species contained in one of these species groups, santarita, is provided herein, as well as a distributional synopsis of the remaining 18 species groups. New species described herein are as follows, each with its type locality: Pseudomorpha huachineras
p. n., Arroyo El Cocono, Sierra Huachinera, Sonora, México; P. patagonia
sp. n., Madera Canyon, Santa Rita Mountains, Arizona; P.penablanca
sp. n., Peña Blanca Lake, Arizona; P. pima
sp. n., Madera Canyon (lower), Santa Rita Mountains, Arizona; P. santacruz
sp. n., Madera Canyon, Santa Rita Mountains, Arizona; and P. santarita
sp. n., Santa Rita Ranch, Santa Rita Mountains, Arizona. 相似文献

A taxonomic revision of cestodes of the genus Paracaryophyllaeus Kulakowskaja, 1961, parasites of cobitid fishes, has been performed. Three species (Paracaryophyllaeus gotoi (Motomura, 1927), P. kulakowskae sp. n., and P. misgurni sp. n.) are considered valid species; two are described as new species. P. dubininorum Kulakowskaja, 1961 is a young synonym of P. gotoi. The taxonomic status for P. gotoi sensu Scholz, 1989, P. gotoi sensu Scholz et al., 2001, and Paracaryophyllaeus sp. 1 and Paracaryophyllaeus sp. 2 (described in present work) needs specification. 相似文献

Two new species of oribatid mites of the genus Pergalumna (Oribatida, Galumnidae), P. elongatiporosa
sp. n. and P. striatiprodorsum
sp. n., are described from leaf litter of a secondary forest in Costa Rica. Pergalumna elongatiporosa
sp. n. is most similar morphologically to P. horvathorum P. Balogh, 1997 and P. sura P. Balogh, 1997, however, it differs from both by the body size, body surface ornamentation and morphology of notogastral porose areas A1 and A3. Pergalumna striatiprodorsum
sp. n. is most similar morphologically to P. hawaiiensis hawaiiensis (Jacot, 1934) and P. strigulata Mahunka, 1978, however, it differs from P. hawaiiensis by the length of interlamellar setae and surface ornamentation of the prodorsum; from P. strigulata by the surface of ornamentation of the notogaster, length of interlamellar setae and morphology of bothridial setae. An identification key to known species of Pergalumna from the Neotropical region is given. 相似文献
