The jumping plant-lice or psyllids belonging to the subfamily Liviinae are reviewed. Nineteen species are recognized in a single genus Lima Latreille. Three new species, craivfordi sp. nov., lobata sp. nov. and manitobensis sp. nov., are described. The identities of the existing species have been widely confused and full lists of synonymies are given where appropriate. It is re-emphasized that the type species of Livia, Psylla juncorum Latreille, is a synonym of Chermes junci Schrank, a point made by Laing (1951) but ignored by subsequent authors. The latter name has priority. A taxonomic key for the identification of the species is given and each species is described, diagnosed and illustrated. Supporting information is given on geographical distribution, host-plant association and general biology. Evolutionary relationships within Livia are discussed.  相似文献

Meiotic karyotypes in males of 16 species (assigned to 9 genera and 7 subfamilies) ofthe family Psyllidae and 3 species (assigned to 3 genera of the subfamily Triozinae) of the family Triozidae are described for the first time. The first data on the genus Ligustrinia are presented. All the species were shown to exhibit the modal karyotype for psyllids, 2n = 24 + X, except Bactericera nigricornis and Arytainilla spartiophila, in which 2n = 24 + XY and 2n = 22 + X were found, respectively. The karyotype of Ctenarytaina eucalypti (Psyllidae, Spondyliaspidinae) was reinvestigated, and the karyotype 2n = 10 + X, characteristic of Spondyliaspidinae, was revealed. The karyotypes ofStrophingia fallax, S. arborea, and Craspedolepta topicalis were studied using the C-banding technique.  相似文献

The mulberry psyllid Anomoneura mori Schwarz is reported for the first time from Taiwan. This species is associated with the mulberry tree and is a pest of sericulture. Adults and larvae are described and illustrated for identification. The topic of invasive species is further discussed.  相似文献

This paper describes a new species of Arctorthezia Cockerell (Hemiptera: Coccoidea: Ortheziidae) from the Palaearctic region. The specimens were extracted from forest litter in the collections of Muséum d’histoire Naturelle de Genève, Switzerland, using Berlese funnels. Three further species, Arctorthezia cataphracta (Olafsen), Arctorthezia occidentalis (Douglas) and Arctorthezia pseudoccidentalis Morrison, are redescribed and re-illustrated. The genus Arctorthezia now contains five species. An identification key, diagnostic illustrations, photographs of unmounted females and new locality records of the Arctorthezia species currently known are provided.  相似文献

Ehrendorferiana and its two included new species, E. austrocedri (the type species) and E. fitzroyae, are diagnosed. The new genus is a member of the predominantly temperate Neotropical subfamily Aphalaroidinae (Psyllidae). Based on the absence of metabasitarsal spurs it forms a likely monophyletic group with Baccharopelma, Panisopelma and Russelliana. The absence or paucity of long dorsal or marginal setae on the wing pads and caudal plate suggests a probable sister-taxon relationship with Russelliana. Apart from two species of Triozidae from New Zealand on Podocarpaceae, Ehrendorferiana is unique within Psylloidea in its host association with conifers, viz. Austrocedrus and Fitzroya (both Cupressaceae).

The first record of the genus Semia Matsumura (Cicadidae: Cicadinae, Cicadini) from Vietnam is presented. One new species, Semia spinosasp. n., is described from southern Vietnam. Photos of the adult, illustrations of the male genitalia, a distribution map and biological data are provided. A key to the species of Semia based on the male adults is also given.  相似文献

Summary

The “Borneo endemic” genus Chinemesa Wygodzinsky, 1966 is recorded from the mainland of Asia for the first time. A new species, Chinemesa chinensis n. sp., is described and illustrated. An updated key to species of Chinemesa is provided. Relationship between Chinemesa and Ocelliemesina Wang, Wang, Cao & Cai, 2015 is discussed, and diagnostic characters of Chinemesa are revised. Distribution of Chinemesa is briefly discussed.  相似文献

The wing articulation sclerites, as well as wing base environment, of phylogenetically distant Psylloidea taxa were examined by optical and electron microscopy in order to estimate the phylogenetic significance of observed morphological patterns. The basiradial bridge is strongly developed and links the fused humeral plate, basisubcostale, basiradiale and second axillary sclerite to the fused veins R + M + Cu. The proximal median plate has a vertical orientation, which may have a role in moving the wing forward and backward. The weak sclerotization posteriad of the second axillary sclerite and anteriad to the third axillary sclerite facilitates the backward movement of the wing. The horizontal hinge (= basal hinge), the vertical hinge and the torsional hinge are the most important fold- and flexion-lines for the mobility of the wing, whereas humeral folds and the anterior axillary fold-line play a minor role. The basalare presents two horns or processes that are autapomorphic traits for the superfamily Psylloidea. The monophyly of Psylloidea is also supported by the absence of the subalare, of the median notal wing process and of the anterior arm of the third axillary sclerite (lacking articulation with second axillary sclerite). Major interspecific variations are observed in tegula, first axillary sclerite and basalare shape and size. The second distal median plate is absent in Homotoma ficus (Homotomidae) and Glycaspis brimblecombei (Spondyliaspidinae), whereas it is present in Calophya schini (Calophyidae) and Psylla buxi (Psyllinae/Arytaininae); the presence of this sclerite could be a synapomorphy linking Calophyidae and the “psyllid assemblage”.  相似文献

A new species of Egidemia China, 1927, Egidemia impudica, is described and illustrated from the Department of Magdalena (Colombia). The male genitalia of the new species have a very peculiar, diagnostic feature: the pygofer is considerably reduced and truncate posteriorly, so that part of the aedeagus is exposed. A key to males of all known Egidemia species is provided. Notes comparing Egidemia impudica with the other nine known species of the genus are also given.  相似文献

Two new species of Acizzia Heslop-Harrison (Hemiptera: Psyllidae) from the plant family Solanaceae in eastern Australia are described. Acizzia solanicola sp. n. can damage eggplant, Solanum melongena (Solanaceae), in commercial crops and gardens in eastern Australia. It is a new, potentially serious commercial pest species, of which the nymphs induce malformation of leaves, produce copious amounts of viscous waste and cause leaf wilting, premature leaf senescence and crop loss. These psyllids have a unique and characteristic method of disposing of honeydew and this is illustrated for the first time. Acizzia alternata sp. n. is recorded from the weed, wild tobacco bush, Solanum mauritianum , but appears to cause little damage. These comprise the first record of a pest psyllid on eggplant and the first record of Acizzia from the Solanaceae. The parasitoid, Psyllaephagus sp. (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae), is recorded parasitising nymphs of A. solanicola sp. n., and is here proposed as a potential biological control agent against it.  相似文献
