The present study was undertaken to identify the aluminum (Al) tolerant cultivar of Brassica juncea. We examined the changes in antioxidant enzymes, proline level, chlorophyll a fluorescence and psb A gene expression at vegetative and reproductive growth stages of B. juncea cultivars (Bio-902, CS-14, Pusa-Tarak and Laxmi). The selected cultivars were exposed to soil (pH 5.2) supplemented with Al (0, 50, 100 and 150?mg?kg?1). We observed the lowest decline in photosynthetic efficiency (ΔF/Fm′), ETR, PPFD values and psb A expression to Al stress in the cultivar Bio-902 (tolerant cultivar) followed by CS-14 and Pusa-Tarak whereas the highest decline was observed in the cultivar Laxmi (sensitive cultivar). The improved performance of the cultivar Bio-902 under Al stress was accompanied by an increase in proline level, CAT and APX activities but without any increase in SOD activity. However, significant increase in SOD activity was observed in Laxmi.  相似文献

In present study, the effects of combined Aluminium and Fluoride (AlF) stress on chlorophyll a fluorescence, photosynthetic pigments, antioxidant system and psb A gene expression are first time reported in four Brassica juncea cultivars (CS-14, Pusa-Tarak, Bio-902 and Laxmi). Each cultivar was exposed to soil supplemented with AlF (0, 50?+?25, 100?+?50 and 150?+?75?mgkg?1). Lowest decline in the chlorophyll content, saturating photosynthetically active photon flux density, maximum apparent electron transport rate and effective quantum yield (PSII) under AlF was observed in Pusa-Tarak followed by CS-14, Bio-902 and Laxmi. The improved performance of the cultivar Pusa-Tarak under AlF stress was accompanied by an increase in proline level and enzymes activity of catalase and ascorbate peroxidase. However, significant increase in superoxide dismutase activity was observed in cultivar Laxmi. We also observed that AlF inhibits psb A gene expression to a lesser extent in tolerant cultivar Pusa-Tarak in comparison to susceptible cultivar Laxmi.  相似文献

Biochar is an organic amendment used for soil remediation, there are only a few studies documenting the effects of nitrogen on the role of biochar in contaminated soils. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the impacts of biochar (0%, 1%, and 2.5%, w/w) and nitrogen (0, 100, and 200 mg N kg?1) on plant growth, nutrient and cadmium (Cd) uptake of Cichorium intybus. N, P, Ca, Mg, and Cd concentrations increased with N level in 0% and 1% biochar treatments. In plants treated with 2.5% biochar, 200 mg N kg?1 addition caused significant reductions of N, P, Ca, Mg, and Cd concentrations in comparison to 100 mg N kg?1 treatments. Nitrogen promoted shoot biomass at all biochar treatments, while biochar had no effect on shoot biomass in 0 and 200 mg N kg?1 addition treatments. Nitrogen also significantly increased N, P, K, Ca, Mg, and Cd contents in the 0% and 1.5% biochar addition treatments. Although soil DTPA-extractable Cd concentration showed the lowest values in 1% biochar in combination with 100 and 200 mg N kg?1 addition treatments, lowest shoot Cd concentration, and relatively high shoot biomass occurred in the 2.5% biochar + 200 mg N kg?1 treatment. Based on these results, biochar application at its highest rate (2.5%) in combination with high N supply (200 mg N kg?1) contributed to both crop yield and agricultural product safety. N input alone might increase the risk of human health, and the optimum N dose should be determined during phytostabilization process.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess EDTA-assisted Pb and Cd phytoextraction potential of locally grown Pelargonium hortorum and Pelargonium zonale. Plants were exposed to different levels of Pb (0–1500?mg kg?1) and Cd (0–150?mg kg?1) in the absence or presence of EDTA (0–5?mmol kg?1). P. hortorum and P. zonale accumulated 50.9% and 42.2% higher amount of Pb in shoots at 1500?mg kg?1 Pb upon addition of 5?mmol kg?1 EDTA. Plant dry biomass decreased 46.8% and 64.3% for P. hortorum and P. zonale, respectively at the combination of 1500?mg kg?1 Pb and 5?mmol kg?1 EDTA. In Cd and EDTA-treated groups, P. hortorum and P. zonale accumulated 2.7 and 1.6-folds more Cd in shoots at 4 and 2?mmol kg?1 EDTA, respectively, in 150?mg Cd kg?1 treatment. Plant dry biomass of P. hortorum and P. zonale was reduced by 46.3% and 71.3%, respectively, in soil having 150?mg Cd kg?1 combined with 5?mmol kg?1 EDTA. Translocation factor and enrichment factor of both plant cultivars at all treatment levels were >1. Overall, the performance of P. hortorum was better than that of P. zonale for EDTA-assisted phytoextraction of Pb and Cd.  相似文献

In the present study, field micro-plot experiments were conducted to investigate the basal and foliar application of a tested organic fertilizer amendment (OFA) for decreasing the risk of Cd accumulating in rice. The results showed that applications of OFA significantly increased rice yields in Cd-polluted soil and reduced the level of Cd in rice plants, especially in rice grain. In addition, three application methods of OFA were investigated (single basal application (B1, B2, and B3), combined basal application (+LM, +D, and +Z), and foliar application (F1, F2)). Treat B, F, +LM, +D were all higher than control on rice yield with 25.03, 28.05, 30.61, 22.50 g pot?1 on average, respectively. Among which, rice cadmium depress to 0.33 mg kg?1 in foliar application is considered to be a more efficient and economical method of heavy metal remediation. The mechanism of foliar application to alleviate the accumulation of Cd in brown rice may be related to the probable Cd sequestration in the leaves and straws. And the doses of the foliar application were 2.25–3.75 kg hm?2, approximately 1.0–2.5% of the basal application amount yet with more effect (0.10 mg kg?1 more than single basal; 0.23 mg kg?1 more than combined basal) on Cd reduction.  相似文献

Abstract

Poplar plants were exposed during 61 days to a soil added with heavy metals so as to contain 300 mg Zn2+.kg?1 soil dry weight (SDW) (Zinc) or 50 mg Cd2+.kg?1 SDW (Cadmium). The Cd treatment induced a delayed growth of poplar, whereas Zn induced no change in physiological parameters. Both treatments resulted in a significant metal accumulation in plants. Zn2+ and Cd2+ exhibited contrasting distribution within tissues, indicating dissimilar handling by the plant. The main difference was the efficient compartmentalisation of Zn2+ in specific organ parts: old leaves and bark, while Cd2+ did not exhibit such a compartmentalisation. Results were also compared with a previous work where plants were exposed to 360 mg Cd2+.kg?1 SDW.  相似文献

Objetive: Arsenic (As) and fluoride (F) are found in groundwater and soils around the world, causing different problems to crops. Because these elements compete against phosphorus (P) in soils and plants, their relationship is complex. The aim of this work was to study the oxidative stress of soybean plants subjected to different concentrations of As and F, and the effect of P.

Methods: The following 10 treatments were carried out in each of two soils with different P content: three As levels (low 10?mg?As?kg-1, medium 50?mg?As?kg?1 and high 100?mg As kg?1), three F levels (low 160?mg?F?kg?1, medium 250?mg?F?kg?1 and high 500?mg?F?kg?1) and three As?+?F levels (same concentrations), and the control treatment (soil with the background As and F concentrations) Lipid peroxidation, chlorophyll, gluthatione contents and antioxidant enzymes activities were determination.

Results: Increased lipid peroxidation and alterations in glutathione content, catalase, superoxide dismutase and peroxidase activities as well as in chlorophyll content revealed that As causes higher oxidative stress in plants grown in soils with low P content.

Conclusion: Stress parameters in F treatments were less affected. Plants grown in soils enriched with P revealed a decrease in the toxic effects caused by As and F.  相似文献

A pot experiment with acid yellow–brown soil was conducted to investigate the interactive effects of molybdenum (Mo) and phosphorus (P) fertilizers on the photosynthetic characteristics of seedlings and grain yield of Brassica napus which is sensitive to soil P and Mo deficiency. Both Mo and P fertilizers were applied at three levels (0 mg Mo kg?1, 0.15 mg Mo kg?1, 0.30 mg Mo kg?1 soil; 0 mg P kg?1, 80 mg P kg?1, 160 mg P kg?1 soil). The results showed that P fertilizer application increased grain yield, soluble sugar concentrations of seedling leaves, DM and P accumulation of seedling shoots of Brassica napus in the absence or presence of Mo fertilizer. In contrast, Mo fertilizer increased these parameters only in the presence of P fertilizer. Mo accumulation in shoots, chlorophyll concentrations and net photosynthesis rate (P n) of seedling leaves were increased by both Mo and P fertilizers, particularly with the combination of the two fertilizers. The results also showed that the Mo and P fertilizers increased photosynthetic rate through two different mechanisms, with Mo increasing photosynthetic activity of mesophyll cells, and P increasing stomatal conductance. The results demonstrate that there was a synergetic effect on photosynthesis and grain yield between Mo and P fertilizers and it is conducive for Brassica napus growth to co-apply the two fertilizers.  相似文献

Four plant species were found naturally growing at an acid mine drainage (AMD)-impacted site contaminated with 9430 mg kg?1Al, 76,000 Fe mg kg?1, ~150 mg kg?1Mn, and 420 mg kg?1 Mg: soybeans (Glycine max), cattails (Typha latifolia), goldenrods (Solidago sp.), and reed grass (Phragmites australis). The metal uptake selectivity was Fe?Mg~Mn>Al for cattails, Mg>Mn>Fe>Al for goldenrods, and Fe?Al>Mg>Mn for reeds. When metal translocation factors, shoot concentrations, and toxicity of the contaminants were correlated, cattails and reeds were more effective at the site than the soybeans or goldenrods. Cattails had a translocation factor of 3.71 for Al, 3.3 for Mg, 1.98 for Mn, and only 0.2 for Fe. The translocation factors for reeds were much higher for Fe (8.64) and Al (7.3). Cattails (1.11 mg Al g?1 shoot) and reeds (3.4 mg g?1 g shoot) were both able to hyperaccumulate Al. Additional research is warranted to ascertain if the uptake efficiencies can be enhanced by the use of chelators.  相似文献

Salinity stress affects many metabolic facets of plants and induces anatomical and morphological changes resulting in reduced growth and productivity. To overcome the damaging effects of salinity, different strategies of the application of nutrients with plant hormones are being adopted. The present study was carried out with an aim to find out whether application of calcium chloride (CaCl2) and gibberellic acid (GA3) could alleviate the detrimental effects of salinity stress on plant metabolism. Fifteen days old plants were supplied with (1) 0 mM NaCl + 0 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 0 M GA3 (control, T0); (2) 0 mM NaCl + 10 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 0 M GA3 (T1); (3) 0 mM NaCl + 0 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 10?6 M GA3 (T2); (4) 150 mM NaCl + 0 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 0 M GA3 (T3); (5) 150 mM NaCl + 10 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 0 M GA3 (T4); (6) 150 mM NaCl + 0 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 10?6 M GA3 (T5); (7) 150 mM NaCl + 10 mg CaCl2 kg?1 sand + 10?6 M GA3 (T6). To assess the response of the crop to NaCl, CaCl2 and GA3, plants were uprooted randomly at 60 days after sowing. The presence of NaCl in the growth medium decreased all the growth and physio-biochemical parameters, except electrolyte leakage, proline (Pro) and glycine betaine (GB) content, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), H2O2 content, activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) and leaf Na content, which exhibited an increase of 37.6, 29.3, 366.9, 107.5, 59.1, 17.1, 28.4 and 255.2%, respectively, compared to the control plants. However, application of CaCl2 in combination with GA3 appears to confer greater osmoprotection by the additive role with NaCl in Pro and GB accumulation. Although the activities of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT and POX) were increased by salt stress, the combined application of CaCl2 and GA3 to salt-stressed plants further enhanced the activities of these enzymes by 25.1, 6.7 and 47.8%, respectively, compared to plants grown with NaCl alone. The present study showed that application of CaCl2 and GA3 alone as well as in combination mitigated the adverse effect of salinity, but combined application of these treatments proved more effective in alleviating the adverse effects of NaCl stress.  相似文献

A soil culture experiment was conducted to determine whether a plant hormone, indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), could influence fluoranthene (Flu) removal from soil. Four treatments were utilized: (i) unplanted soil (CK), (ii) soil planted with ryegrass (P), (iii) soil planted with ryegrass and treated with 0.24 mg kg?1 IAA (P+0.24), (iv) soil planted with ryegrass and treated with 2.4 mg kg?1 IAA (P+2.4). The Flu initial concentration was 200 mg kg?1. After 3 months, the percentage of Flu removal and plant root biomass were significantly increased under the P+2.4 and the removal rate was 35.68%. The total Flu content in plants was higher than that in the other treatments. The Flu concentration was significantly increased in the shoots, but not significantly altered in the roots. The highest translocation factor was observed in the P+2.4. Increase in number of bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi were observed in the planted treatments, and the amount of fungi was significantly increased in P+2.4. Flu removal was related to the Flu in ryegrass, and was insignificantly correlated with the stimulation of soil microflora, which suggesting that IAA may work mainly on improving plant growth, the Flu uptake, and eventually leading to enhanced remediation of Flu polluted soil.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to assess the influence of dietary zinc nanoparticles (size 50 nm) on the growth, biochemical constituents, enzymatic antioxidant levels and the nonspecific immune response of the freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii post larvae (PL). The concentrations of dietary supplement zinc nanoparticles (ZnNPs) were 0, 10, 20, 40, 60 and 80 mg kg?1 with the basal diet, and the level of Zn in ZnNP-supplemented diets were 0.71, 10.61, 20.73, 40.73, 60.61 and 80.60 mg kg?1, respectively. ZnNP-incorporated diets were fed to M. rosenbergii PL (initial body weight, 0.18?±?0.02 g) in a triplicate experimental setup for a period of 90 days. ZnNP supplemented feed fed PL up to 60 mg kg?1 showed significantly (P?<?0.05) improved performance in survival, growth and activities of digestive enzymes (protease, amylase and lipase). The concentrations of biochemical constituents (total protein, total amino acid, total carbohydrate and total lipid), total haemocyte count and differential haemocyte count were elevated in 10–60 mg kg?1 ZnNP supplemented feed fed PL. However, the PL fed with 80 mg ZnNPs kg?1 showed negative results. Activities of enzymatic antioxidants [superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT)], metabolic enzymes [glutamate–oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) and glutamate–pyruvate transaminase (GPT)] and the process of lipid peroxidation (LPO) in the hepatopancreas and muscle showed no significant alterations in 10–60 mg kg?1 ZnNP supplemented feed fed PL. Whereas, 80 mg ZnNPs kg?1 supplemented feed fed PL showed significant elevations in SOD, CAT, LPO, GOT and GPT. Therefore, 80 mg ZnNPs kg?1 was found to be toxic to M. rosenbergii PL. Thus, the study suggests that up to 60 mg ZnNPs kg?1 can be supplemented for regulating survival, growth and immunity of M. rosenbergii.  相似文献

The potential for cadmium (Cd) removal from contaminated soil by two species—marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) and Guinea grass (Panicum maximum)—was investigated in pot culture experiments in a greenhouse in triplicate. The concentration of Cd was varied from 50 to 200 mg kg?1 and the pH was varied from 5.0 to 7.5 to investigate the effect of pH on Cd uptake. The results showed that total biomass of Guinea grass was around nine and seven times higher than that of marigold for Cd treatments of 50 and 100 mg kg?1 at pH 5.0, respectively. Total cadmium uptake at Cd treatments of 50 and 100 mg kg?1 at pH 5.0 by Guinea grass was 19.28 ± 3.14 and 36.06 ± 4.28 mg kg?1, respectively, and for marigold was 15.66 ± 4.17 and 20.38 ± 3.24 mg kg?1, respectively. The total Cd uptake by Guinea grass was 1.23 and 1.77 higher than that of marigold at Cd treatments of 50 and 100 mg kg?1, respectively, at pH 5.0 due to higher biomass. The maximum Cd uptake by marigold and Guinea grass occurred at pH 5.0 at Cd treatment of 100 mg kg?1. The results clearly show that the two species behave very differently for Cd uptake. Guinea grass is easy to grow, drought tolerant and, due to its higher biomass, it can be used for remediation of Cd-contaminated soil.  相似文献

The role of same amendment on phytoremediating different level contaminated soils is seldom known. Soil pot culture experiment was used to compare the strengthening roles of cysteine (CY), EDTA, salicylic acid (Sa), and Tween 80 (TW) on hyperaccumulator Solanum nigrum L. phytoremediating higher level of single cadmium (Cd) or Benzo(a)pyrene (BAP) and their co-contaminated soils. Results showed that the Cd capacities (ug pot?1) in shoots of S. nigrum in the combined treatment T0.1EDTA+0.9CY were the highest for the 5 and 15 mg kg?1 Cd contaminated soils. When S. nigrum remediating co-contaminated soils with higher levels of Cd and BAP, that is, 5 mg kg?1 Cd + 1 mg kg?1 BAP and 15 mg kg?1 Cd + 2 mg kg?1 BAP, the treatment T0.9CY+0.9Sa+0.3TW showed the best enhancing remediation role. This results were different with co-contaminated soil with 0.771 mg kg?1 Cd + 0.024 mg kg?1 BAP. These results may tell us that the combine used of CY, SA, and TW were more useful for the contaminated soils with higher level of Cd and/or BAP. In the combined treatments of Sa+TW, CY was better than EDTA.  相似文献

The variations of Cd accumulation in three rootstalk crop species (radish, carrot and potato) were investigated by using twelve cultivars grown in acidic Ferralsols and neutral Cambisols under two Cd treatments (0.3 and 0.6 mg kg?1) in a pot experiment. The result showed that the total Cd uptake was significantly affected by genotype, soil type and interaction between them, suggesting the importance of selecting proper cultivars for phytoextraction in a given soil type. Among the cultivars tested, potato cultivar Luyin No.1 in Ferralsols and radish cultivar Zhedachang in Cambisols exhibited the highest Cd phytoextraction efficiency in aerial parts (4.45% and 0.59%, respectively) under 0.6 mg kg?1Cd treatment. Furthermore, the Cd concentrations in their edible parts were below the National Food Hygiene Standard of China (0.1 mg kg?1, fresh weight). Therefore, phytomanagement of slightly Cd-contaminated soils using rootstalk crops for safe food production combined with long-term phytoextraction was feasible, and potato cultivar Luyin No.1 for Ferralsols and radish cultivar Zhedachang for Cambisols were promising candidates for this approach.  相似文献

The ethanolic leaf extract (TZP) of Zuccagnia punctata, its ethereal fraction (Eet), 2′,4′‐dihydroxychalcone (DC), 2′,4′‐dihydroxy‐3′‐methoxychalcone (DMC) and 7‐hydroxy‐3′,4′‐dimethoxyflavone (HF) were evaluated as fungicide seed protectants on corn. Microdilution assays on a set of Fusarium strains showed minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of 400–800 μg mL?1 (TZP), 50–100 μg mL?1 (Eet), 25–50 μg mL?1 (DC), 50–100 μg mL?1 (DMC) and 200–400 μg mL?1 (HF), with minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC)/MIC = 1. Suspensions of TZP, Eet, DC and DMC at MIC × 20 incorporated to the grains at rates of 1920, 240, 120 and 240 mg dry matter kg?1 of grain, respectively, increased the elongation of the primary roots (24–44%) and the number of seminal roots (44–50%). TZP also increased the number of secondary roots. HF was phytotoxic. Suspensions of TZP, Eet, DC and DMC suppressed the endogenous grain mycoflora at levels similar to those recorded for a thiram + carbendazim‐based fungicide. Grains treated with TZP (1920 mg kg?1), Eet (240 mg kg?1), DC (120 mg kg?1) and DMC (240 mg kg?1) stimulated the growth of the seedling root system both because of fungal suppression and hormetic effects in greenhouse curative and preventive assays against Fusarium verticillioides on a sand/soil substrate. Eet and its chalcones also reduced the severity of seedling blight more than the thiram + carbendazim‐based fungicide in preventive assays and led to the same disease severity observed for the fungicide treatment in the curative assays. Our results show that Eet and its chalcones not only were effective seed protectants against F. verticillioides and other seedborne fungi, but also improved the early performance of maize seedlings.  相似文献

Due to the severe hazardous influences of lead (Pb2+) on iron-related diseases, the effects of Pb2+ on serum parameters associated with iron metabolism have been studied in this project. Male Wistar rats weighing 200–250 g were treated with Pb2+ for the short and long period of times. The animals received daily intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg Pb2+ kg?1 body weight (BW) for 5 days and 4 mg?kg?1 BW of Pb2+ for 30 and 45 days, respectively. The results show that when animals were treated with both low and high concentrations of Pb2+, serum iron concentration decreased markedly, by 23.2, 32.8, and 39.9 %, while the sera TIBC and transferrin concentrations increased significantly (p?<?0.05). Following short- and long-term exposures to Pb2+, the percentage of serum transferrin saturation was also decreased in comparison with the untreated control group (p?<?0.05). Concentrations of serum copper and ceruloplasmin following Pb2+ treatments also reduced significantly (p?<?0.05). The percentage of hematocrit and hemoglobin levels was reduced (p?<?0.05) in all Pb2+-treated animals in comparison with the controls. These results suggest that Pb2+ changes the serum parameters related to iron metabolism, which may play an important role in producing iron-related diseases.  相似文献

Phytoextraction of Risk Elements by Willow and Poplar Trees   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
To characterize the phytoextraction efficiency of two clones of willow trees (Salix x smithiana Willd., Salix rubens) and two clones of poplar trees (Populus nigra x maximowiczii, Populus nigra Wolterson) were planted in contaminated soil (0.4–2.0 mg Cd.kg?1, 78–313 mg Zn.kg?1, 21.3–118 mg Cu.kg?1). Field experiment was carried out in Czech Republic. The study investigated their ability to accumulate heavy metals (Cd, Zn, and Cu) in harvestable plant parts. The poplars produced higher amount of biomass than willows. Both Salix clones accumulated higher amount of Cd, Zn and Cu in their biomass (maximum 6.8 mg Cd.kg?1, 909 mg Zn.kg?1, and 17.7 mg Cu.kg?1) compared to Populus clones (maximum 2.06 mg Cd.kg?1, 463 mg Zn.kg?1, and 11.8 mg Cu.kg?1). There were no significant differences between clones of individual species. BCs for Cd and Zn were greater than 1 (the highest in willow leaves). BCs values of Cu were very low. These results indicate that Salix is more suitable plant for phytoextraction of Cd and Zn than Populus. The Cu phytoextraction potential of Salix and Populus trees was not confirmed in this experiment due to low soil availability of this element.  相似文献

The effects of arsenate, Fe2+, and phosphate on amount and composition of Fe-oxide plaque at the rice-root surface and on the yield and arsenic accumulation in rice (cv. BRRI dhan33) were studied in a replicated pot-culture experiment. Arsenic in the form of Na2HAsO4 was applied at concentrations of 0, 15 and 30 mg kg?1 in combination with P and/or Fe at 0 and 50 mg kg?1, from KH2PO4 and FeSO4, respectively. Root, grain and straw yields and their As, Fe and P concentrations were determined. The Fe-oxide plaque was extracted from the plant roots using dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate (DCB) and NH4-oxalate extractions. The addition of Fe2+ reduced the toxic effect of As in flooded-rice culture and resulted in reduced grain-As accumulation and increased grain yields. The effect of applied phosphate was the opposite, in that it resulted in higher As concentrations in both grain and straw and lower grain yields. The effects of both Fe and P can be explained based on their impacts on adsorption of As onto soil and rice-plaque Fe-oxides and the subsequent As solubility and availability for uptake by rice. These reactions have important implications to rice-crop management and the natural variability in soils and irrigation-water characteristics that might impact As uptake by rice.  相似文献

Response of soil chemistry to forest dieback after bark beetle infestation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We evaluated changes in the chemistry of the uppermost soil horizons in an unmanaged spruce forest (National Park Bohemian Forest, Czech Republic) for 3 years after dieback caused by a bark beetle infestation, and compared these changes with a similar undisturbed forest area. The soils below the disturbed forest received 2–6 times more elements via litter fall compared to the unaffected plot. The subsequent decomposition of litter and reduced nutrient uptake by trees resulted in a steep increase in soil concentrations of soluble N (NH4-N, organic-bound N) and P forms in the disturbed plot. The average concentrations of NH4-N and soluble reactive P increased from 0.8 to 4.4 mmol kg?1 and from 0.04 to 0.9 mmol kg?1, respectively, in the uppermost soil horizon. Decomposition of litter at the disturbed plot elevated soil concentrations of Ca2+, Mg2+ and K+, which replaced Al3+ and H+ ions from the soil sorption complex. Consequently, soil concentrations of exchangeable base cations increased from 120 to 200 meq kg?1, while exchangeable Al3+ and H+ decreased 66 and 50 %, respectively, and soil base saturation increased from 40 to 70 %. The Al3+ liberation did not elevate concentrations of ionic Al in the soil solution, because most of the liberated Al3+ was rapidly complexed by dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and transformed to DOC–Al complexes. The chemical parameters investigated at the unaffected plot remained stable during the study.  相似文献
