A new species from Argentina, Sogatella unidentatasp. nov. (Hemiptera: Delphacidae), is described and illustrated as belonging to the Sogatella furcifera group. The main distinctive characteristics are tegmen coloration, shape of aedeagus and number and dispositions of its teeth, and shape of parameres in males; length of the ovipositor, and shape of the gonapophysis IX in females. A key is included to facilitate the comparison of the new species with the closely allied. Furthermore, information on host plants and geographical distribution is provided. This is the southernmost record in the distribution of the S. furcifera group.

I. elegans n.sp. from the Parana River, northeastern Argentina is proposed and its morphological features are compared with those of the apparently related I. agilis. Its outstanding characteristics are the long 2rd to 5th setae of ventral margin of the valves, the rudimentary nature of defensive setae, the low number of spines in the preanal lobe of postabdomen and the unequality of the length of the setae in the outer distal lobe of first trunk limbs.Finding of this new species suggests that I. agilis would be a complex of species and its records should be revised.

Morella chevalieri is described as new and is illustrated; it grows in the Andes in northern Argentina and southern and central Bolivia. A key that differentiates this new species from the monoeciousMyrica pubescens is presented. The dioecious Morella chevalieri is characterized by the following: leaf blade elliptic to narrowly elliptic, margin serrate (at least in the distal 2/3); staminate flowers with one or no secondary bracts (if present, linear or band-shaped) and secondary bracts in the pistillate flower 2–3 (seldom 4).

The seasonal and annual fluctuations in a population of the delphacid, Stenocranus minutus (Fab. ) on Dactylis glomerata L. were studied from March 1968 to September 1970. The study involved the comparison of several sampling methods to estimate the egg, nymphal and adult numbers and an investigation into causes of mortality within each stage. A population budget was made for the years 1969 and 1970.

The paper deals with a new leafhopper species from Southern China, Japanagallia confusasp. nov., previously misidentified as J. hamataZhang and Li, 1999 by Viraktamath et al., 2012. The species is described and figured and compared to the similar J. hamata and J. neohamata Li et al. 2014.www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:6BABEE67-3F22-4A47-A2C0-27112C6835FA

A new cicada genus and species, Minilomia triquetra, gen. and sp. nov., is described from Borneo. The new genus Minilomia is closely allied to Platylomia Stål and is placed in the subtribe Dundubiina of the tribe Cicadini. Another new cicada species, Pomponia brevicaudata, sp. nov. (subtribe Psithyristriina), is described from Java and Sumatra. The new species belongs to the Pomponia linearis species group and the P. linearis species complex but is distinguished from its congeners by the unusually short male abdomen.

A new species of leafhopper Paradorydium kirkaldyi sp. nov. (from Himachal Pradesh: Kinnaur: Powri) from India, is described. Detailed photographic illustration, annotated checklist and modified key to the species of India is also provided. This species closely resembles P. khasianum Viraktamath but differs in male genitalia characters and molecular analysis using COI gene confirmed the difference and also the taxonomic positon of species in the tribe is established with Histone H3 gene.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:066F6658-ABB4-4585-A4DF-D8735A0230B5  相似文献

Life tables of the planthopper Nilaparvata lugens (St?l) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) on two wild rice species, Oryza officinalis Wall, ex Watt. and Oryza rufipogon Griff., and on 'Taichung Native 1' (O. sativa indica TN1) were studied at 27 degrees C in the laboratory. The raw data were analyzed based on the age-stage, two-sex life table to take both sexes and the variable developmental rate among individuals and between sexes into consideration. The intrinsic rate of increase (r), the finite rate (lamda), the net reproduction rate (R0) and the mean generation time (T) of N. lugens on O. officinalis were -0.0616 d(-1), 0.9402 d(-1), 0.10 offspring, and 36.7 d, respectively, showing that the species is resistant to N. lugens. The resistance of O. officinalis is expressed in the long developmental time from first to fifth instar of N. lugens, the reduced preadult survival rate, the short adult longevity, and low fecundity. However, the population parameters of the N. lugens on O. rufipogon and TN1 were 0.1096 d(-1), 1.1158 d(-1), 67.82 offspring, and 38.6 d and 0.1340 d(-1), 1.1434 d(-1), 144.77 offspring, and 37.2 d, respectively. These population parameters showed that N. lugens can successfully survive and reproduce on both O. rufipogon and TN1.

Eight species of Syphacia (Nematoda: Oxyuridae) have been reported from South America in rodents of the Sigmodontinae, only 1 of which has been recorded in Argentina. Syphacia (Syphacia) carlitosi n. sp. is described from the ceca of Akodon azarae bibianae and Akodon azarae hunteri (Sigmodontinae: Akodontini) captured in 3 provinces in the northeast region of Argentina. The new species is differentiated principally by the shape of the cephalic plate; distribution of submedian papillae and amphids; presence, extent, and shape of cervical alae in females; absence of lateral alae; absence of deirids; spicular and gubernaculum length; shape and structure of accessory hook of gubernaculum; and distance of mamelons, excretory pore, and vulva from the anterior extremity. This is the second record of Syphacia parasitizing rodents of the tribe Akodontini.

Capillaria (Procapillaria) navoneae n. sp. is described from the congrid fish Conger orbignianus from waters off Mar del Plata, Argentina (38 degrees 08'S, 57 degrees 32'W) (prevalence 29.17%, mean intensity +/- SD 6.07 +/- 6.59). The new species is assigned to the subgenus Procapillaria Moravec, 1987, despite the absence of vulvar appendages in gravid females. Of the 3 species so far known in the subgenus, the new one most closely resembles C. (P.) margolisi, from which it is distinguished by lacking a medial expansion in the spicule and a slightly elevated anterior lip of vulva, and by having a shorter esophagus, a larger number of stichocytes, and a shorter tail.
