种子产量对鼠类扩散栓皮栎坚果的影响 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
为了解林木种子产量对鼠类种子扩散行为的影响,于2008 年和2009 年,在国有济源市愚公林场调查了栓皮栎的种子雨;在每年的种子雨结束后,选择次生林生境,研究了鼠类对人工释放栓皮栎坚果的扩散,旨在探讨种子产量与种子扩散间的关系。结果表明:1)取食栓皮栎坚果的鼠类主要有大林姬鼠、社鼠和岩松鼠,2008 年的鼠类捕获率(2% )低于2009 年(10%),其差异并未达到显著性水平;2)栓皮栎的种子雨构成和产量存在年际差异,2008 年以完好种子为主且产量高于2009 年,而2009 年以败育种子为主;3)2008 年人工释放栓皮栎坚果的中位存留时间显著高于2009 年;4)2008 年鼠类对栓皮栎坚果的平均扩散距离显著低于2009 年,且两年的搬运距离几乎都集中在9 m 以内;5)2008 年鼠类对栓皮栎坚果的埋藏比例显著高于2009 年。结果提示,在种子高产年份,可能有较多的种子逃脱动物的取食,从而增加种子萌发和幼苗建成的机会,最终促进植物的更新。 相似文献

旅游活动对景观格局的影响是旅游干扰的重要体现,景观指数则是反映景观格局变化的定量指标.为评价旅游干扰,本文选取景观指数,综合旅游利用幅度和旅游利用强度两方面,构建旅游干扰度指标,并将该指标用于九寨沟旅游区旅游干扰的评价.评价过程中,首先选取旅游区QuickBird遥感影像,并运用3S技术实施影像解译和分区(1~5区),5个分区海拔递增且垂直距离相等,然后计算各分区的旅游干扰度.结果表明:从1区到5区,旅游利用幅度相同,旅游利用强度总体呈递减趋势,因此,旅游干扰度总体呈递减趋势.具体来说,2区最大,其次为1区和3区,4区和5区较小.各分区旅游干扰度和平均斑块分维数之间无显著相关性,说明旅游干扰在改变土地利用形态方面作用不显著. 相似文献

Based on the animal dispersal hypothesis and the predator satiation hypothesis, we examined the effects of seed abundance at both population (i.e., mast seeding) and community levels on seed predation and dispersal of Castanopsis fargesii (Fagaceae), a rodent-dispersed mast species in Eastern Asia. In a subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest in the Dujiangyan region of Sichuan Province, China, individual seeds with coded tin tags were tracked in two contrasting stands (seed-poor and seed-rich) over two years (2000, a low-seed year; 2001, a high-seed year). Our results showed that: (1) small rodents did not harvest the tagged seeds of C. fargesii more rapid in the high-seed year than in the low-seed year in either stand. But, seed harvest was significantly faster in the seed-rich stand than in the seed-poor stand. (2) The removal proportion was significantly lower in the high-seed year than in the low-seed year for either stand, but the removal proportion was slightly higher in the seed-poor stand than in the seed-poor stand. This indicates that high seed abundance decreases seed removal (predator satiation hypothesis). (3) There were only small differences about seed caching, seed survival and seedling establishment of C. fargesii between years and stands. During the survey, no cached seeds survived to geminate in the spring for both stands and years. (4) Mean dispersal distances of the cached seeds are much shorter in the high-seed year (3.1 m) than in the low-seed year (8.1 m) in the seed-rich stand, though similar trend is not examined in the seed-poor stand. Our results indicate that seed predation and dispersal of C. fargesii are influenced by both mast seeding and community-level seed abundance, which is not completely consistent with either the animal dispersal hypothesis or the predator satiation hypothesis, but seems more related to the predator satiation hypothesis. 相似文献

Summary We experimentally examined factors limiting seed production in two populations of the perennial woodland herb Geranium maculatum in central Illinois, USA. To test the pollinator-limitation hypothesis, we compared the seed production of plants whose flowers were supplementarily pollinated with outcross pollen to that of control plants receiving natural pollination only. To test if fruit production by early flowers suppresses fruit and seed formation by late flowers, a third group of plants was prevented from producing seed from the first 50% of the flowers to open (stigmas were excised at flower opening). Finally, to test if seed maturation and flower initiation are correlated with photosynthetic capacity, we performed a defoliation experiment in which either the stem leaves within the inflorescence, the stem leaves below the inflorescence, or the rosette leaves were removed during late flowering. Plants that reccived supplemental pollination produced 1.5–1.6 times more seeds than control plants. We found no difference between hand-pollinated plants and controls in mortality, flowering frequency or number of flowers produced in the year following the experiment. In both control and hand-pollinated plants, the fruit set and total seed production of early flowers were more than twice as high as those of late flowers. In one of the two populations, plants whose early flowers were prevented from setting seed produced significantly more seeds from their late flowers than did control plants. Seed predation was low and did not differ between early and late flowers. Leaf removal did not affect seed number or size in the year of defoliation, nor did it reduce survival or flower production in the subsequent year. This suggests that the plants were able to compensate for a partial defoliation by using stored resources or by increasing photosynthetic rates in the remaining leaves. Taken together, the results demonstrate that both pollinator activity and resource levels influence patterns of seed production in G. maculatum. While seed production was pollinatorlimited in both populations, a seasonal decline in resource availability was apparently responsible for the low seed production by late flowers. 相似文献

Relatively few studies conducted in natural plants populations focus on the relationship between seed size and their germination
ability and seedling establishment. Maianthemum bifolium is a perennial herb that spreads vegetatively through rhizomatous growth and reproduces through seeds. However, this species
is characterized as seed and microsite limited, and under undisturbed conditions seedlings are not noted. The studies were
conducted in two populations of M. bifolium in six subsequent seasons. The mean seed mass was negatively correlated both per ramet as well as in the fruit with the number
of seeds, and positively with its height and the number of flowers. The long-term mean annual production of seeds in the populations
was 37 and 56 seeds per m2. The seeds from both populations had similarly high germination abilities that were approximately 90% under laboratory conditions,
60% in garden, and 55% in the natural habitat. Seeds from four size classes were sown and a positive correlation was noted
between seedling establishment and the mass of the seeds from which they grew (rS = 0.64). Seedling survival was also significantly correlated with seed mass. 相似文献

Selected life-history characteristics of Mesembryanthema species occurring on and off mima-like mounds (heuweltjies) were compared at Tierberg in the southern Succulent Karoo, South Africa. Seed production, the number of seeds retained in seed capsules and germination behaviour were measured in fourteen species of Mesembryanthema which were representatives of two sub-families: the Ruschioideae and the Mesembryanthemoideae. Species occurring onheuweltjies had low overall germination and high seed retention compared with those species occurring offheuweltjies. A strong negative correlation was found between the degree of seed retention and maximum germination. It was proposed that rapid germination and low seed dormancy in species occurring on the flats would be a viable strategy where competition for safe recruitment sites is strong. Species occurring on the flats are long-lived woody shrubs, thus the resulting high levels of seedling mortality probably do not have a major impact on population dynamics.Heuweltjies are sites of intense disturbance. Plant species that occur onheuweltjies can also occur offheuweltjies in disturbed vegetation. Opportunistic life-history characteristics allow these species to colonise disturbed areas.Heuweltjie species thus act as pioneers in a successional process which results ultimately in the re-colonisation of the long-lived flats species. Phylogenetic factors may also determine the species distributions. Members of the Mesembryanthemoideae did not occur offheuweltjies in undisturbed areas. Most Ruschioideae were found on the flats but the few species that occurred onheuweltjies shared similar characteristics with the Mesembryanthemoideae. The primitive life-history characteristics exhibited by the Mesembryanthemoideae enable them to exploit disturbed conditions. 相似文献

继1989年以后,1991年大兴安岭林区兴安落叶松又出现一次结实,结实率平均为63.8%,且结实的林木多出现在过火的林地上。胸径28cm以上的林木结实率可达到80%以上,而且结实量多的林木绝大部分(85%以上)是树冠稀疏的。球果多集中于树冠的中部。短枝年龄结构格局对结实具有重要影响。短枝的数量以1、2年生最多,但结实的短枝主要属于3—7年生的短枝,一次种子丰收年,需要消耗大量的短枝数量,花芽中大部分为雄花,直接用于形成球果的雌花,一般尚不足20%。开花结实成熟年龄短枝的存蓄率愈高,其结实的潜力也愈大,出现种子年的可能性也愈大。 相似文献

对药用植物桃儿七5个不同种群种子产量的研究表明:各种群中每花平均胚珠数、每果实平均种子数及种群平均结实率与种群所在的海拔高度呈正相关;不同种群个体平均胚珠数的变异范围为58.97-87.97,平均种子数变异范围为40.02-80.58,平均结籽率变异范围为61.29%-91.60%;果料内单粒种子平均干重与种群分布海拔呈明显负相关,与果实内种子数呈弱负相关;同一种群在不同年份间平均各上子产量差异不大;种子产量除主要受个体营养状况影响外,还受海拔及其它因素的影响;果实内种子数与果实大小及重量呈正相关,但单粒种子平均重量与果实大小及果实内种子总重量无显著相关。 相似文献

We monitored the reproductive status of all trees with diameters at breast height (dbh) >30 cm in a 40-ha plot at Pasoh, west Malaysia, and investigated the individual fecundity of 15 Shorea acuminata Dyer (Dipterocarpaceae) trees using seed-trapping methods during two consecutive general flowering periods in 2001 (GF2001) and 2002 (GF2002). The proportion of flowering trees was higher, and not dependent on size, in GF2002 (84.2%), than in GF2001 (54.5%), when flowering mainly occurred in trees with a dbh ≤70 cm. Fecundity parameters of individual trees per event varied widely (221,000–35,200,000 flowers, 0–139,000 mature seeds, and 1.04–177 kg total dry matter mass of fruit (TDM) per tree). Monotonic increases with increasing tree size were observed for flower production and TDM amongst trees up to 90 cm in dbh, but not for mature seed production or for any of these parameters amongst larger trees. The pattern of reproductive investment during the two consecutive reproductive events clearly differed between medium-sized and large trees; the former concentrated their reproductive investment in one of the reproductive events whereas the latter allocated their investment more evenly to both reproductive events. Our results suggest size-related differences in the resource allocation pattern for reproduction. 为了解榕树果实的资源分配和种子萌发特征,对西双版纳地区的垂叶榕(Ficus benjamina)、高山榕(F.altissima)、聚果榕(F.racemosa)和无柄雅榕(F.concinna)的果实营养、繁殖资源分配,以及种子萌发特性进行了研究。结果表明,4种榕果的营养分配存在差异,榕果重的种类果肉亦多,榕果大者果腔较大,且种子数量较多,但雄花和榕小蜂数量不一定多。榕果分配给雌性功能及雄性功能繁殖的小花比例也不相同,聚果榕在雌性功能上的分配显著大于雄性功能,其它3种榕果则分配于雄性功能的资源比雌性功能的多,但程度不同。此外,4种榕树的种子大小及重量存在显著的种间差异,以至于影响到种子的萌发率及根茎生长,果实最大的聚果榕种子最多,萌发率高,但由于种子最小,其根茎生长缓慢且短;果实适中的垂叶榕和高山榕种子较大,不但萌发率较高,其根茎生长也较快;果实和种子都小的无柄雅榕,种子萌发率低,根茎生长慢。生长在水热环境好的榕树比生长在相对贫瘠环境的榕树,由于极少面临水热光照等限制,更容易进化出较小的种子,萌发能力和速度也相对较差。这说明不同生境中榕树进化出了不同的繁殖分配机制及资源利用策略来适应环境变化。 相似文献

Mast seeding is a common phenomenon, and has important effects on seed dispersal and hoarding by animals. At population level,
the predator satiation hypothesis proposes that the satiating effect of a large amount of seeds on a relatively small number
of predators benefits seed survival in mast-seeding years. However, the effect of mast seeding on the scatter-hoarding of
rodents at the individual level is largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the effects of seed abundance (by simulating
mast seeding and non-mast seeding) on the removal, consumption and scatter-hoarding of seeds of Camellia oleifera (Theaceae) by Edward’s rat Leopoldamys edwardsi (Muridae) in seminatural enclosures in southwest China. We wanted to test the masting-enhanced hoarding hypothesis, which
suggests that rodents tend to scatter-hoard more seeds in mast-seeding years in order to occupy more food resources. Our results
indicate that L. edwardsi tended to disperse and scatter-hoard more seeds of C. oleifera per night with increasing seed abundance, and to eat less seeds per night when there was a high level of seed abundance in
the enclosure experiments. These results support the masting-enhanced hoarding hypothesis. This capacity of rodents may be
an evolutionary adaptation to the mast-seeding phenomenon. Our results suggest that mast seeding benefits forest regeneration
not only through the predator satiation effect at the population level, but also through increased hoarding by animals at
the individual level.

Effects of self-pollination and maternal resources on reproduction and offspring performance in the wild lupine, Lupinus perennis (Fabaceae) 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We examined the effects of self-pollination and resource addition to maternal plants of Wild Lupine on seed production in
the field, and on offspring performance in the greenhouse. Although 24% of flowers set fruits when open-pollinated, only 11%
of flowers set fruits when self-pollinated. Self-pollination significantly reduced fruit and seed production per inflorescence
and increased aborted seeds per fruit. Resource addition to maternal plants significantly increased fruit and seed number
in the field. Moreover, selfed plants exhibited greater variability in seed production in the absence of resource addition
to the maternal plant. We planted a total of 1,306 of the seeds from this experiment in the greenhouse. While self-pollination
did not affect the proportion of seeds emerging, it slowed seedling emergence by 5–10%, and reduced offspring biomass by 25–35%.
Interestingly, resource addition to the maternal plants significantly decreased proportion of seedlings surviving after 5 months.
Moreover, offspring from maternal plants with resource addition expressed more inbreeding depression in the seedling stage
compared to offspring from maternal plants without resource addition, for which more inbreeding depression occurred during
seed maturation and emergence. These results indicate that conservation efforts using benign environments to increase number
of seeds or offspring may face compensating reductions in survivorship at other life stages. 相似文献

Summary Over three years of study, small plants of Cynoglossum officinale consistently produced more flowers per unit of dry weight than large plants. In contrast to earlier results, weight of all seeds tended to increase more than proportional to size. As a result a positive correlation existed between seed set per flower and plant size. The correlation between the mean number of pollinator visits per flower and size was positive but not significant. In a field experiment we found that resources rather than pollen were limiting seed set. Thus, it is unlikely that enhanced pollination of the largest plants causes the size-dependency of seed set per flower. 本文报道了国产优良牧草——羊草,在不同人为干扰的环境条件下,种群种子生产数量性状变化的若干规律。种群密度是成穗率的限制因素之一,在平均为604.7株/m2中等密度的数年割草场上,成穗率随密度增加呈幂函数y=dx-b形式下降,而在平均为1604.9株/m2高密度的长期连续割草场上,成穗率随密度增加呈直线y=a-bx形式下降。种子发芽率与千粒重呈显著正相关(r=0.9768**)。放牧对成穗有不良影响,但对籽粒的干物质积累过程有一定的促进作用。长期连续割草对种群生殖生长的整个过程均不利,停刈后,自然恢复的速度缓慢。 相似文献

Abstract. Seed heteromorphism in annual Geigeria alata in the Namib Desert was investigated in relation to environmental conditions. Geigeria alata shows heteromorphism in seed dispersal distance depending on the position of the seeds on the parent plant. Seeds produced in capitula on branches (aerial) travel long distances, while seeds produced at the base of the plant remain in the vicinity of the parent plant. The ratio of aerial to basal seed production was investigated under different environmental conditions following an aridity gradient. Although there were significant differences in seed and capitula production between seasons and between different positions on the plant, no overall trend was found with increasing aridity. 相似文献
