Cardamine calliphaea sp. nov. (Brassicaceae) from southwestern Greece

Cardamine calliphaea Kit Tan, G. Vold & Giannopoulos sp. nov. (Brassicaceae) is illustrated and described as a new species endemic to Greece. It occurs in the prefectures of Ilia in western Peloponnese and Etolias‐Akarnanias in western Sterea Ellas and bears some resemblance to C. graeca, differing by its dense greyish–white indumentum and by the absence of leaf auricles. Affinities lie with C. glauca and C. plumieri from which it differs conspicuously, among other characters, by its imparipinnate leaves with the terminal leaflet smaller or equal in size to the lateral pairs.     

Draba longiciliata sp. nov. (Brassicaceae) from Ecuador

Draba longiciliata Al‐Shehbaz & Sklená?, a new species from the Ecuadorian páramo, is described and illustrated. It is readily distinguished from the remaining South American species by a combination of linear leaves, glabrous on both surfaces and long‐ciliate along the entire margin and apex, and by the slender, many‐branched, slightly woody lower stems, densely covered with persistent leaf bases.     

Erysimum damirliense sp. nov. (Brassicaceae) from Iran

Erysimum damirliense, a new species of Brassicaceae from Zanjan and Ardebil provinces (northwest Iran) is described and illustrated. The new species resembles E. uncinatifolium and E. elbrusense, but is easily recognized by its life form, basal leaf margin, indumentum of cauline leaves, number of flowers in the main raceme, fruit width and style length. Phylogenetic analysis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) DNA sequences confirm that the new species is distinct from morphologically similar species.     

Schiedeella jean-mulleri sp. nov. and S. esquintlensis sp. nov. (Orchidaceae, Stenorrhynchidinae) from Guatemala

Two new species of the genus Schiedeella Schltr. (Orchidaceae), S. jean-mulleri Szlach., Rutk. & Mytnik and S. esquintlensis Szlach., Rutk. & Mytnik, are described and illustrated. Their taxonomic position is briefly discussed.     

Alyssum kaynakiae sp. nov. (sect. Gamosepalum,Brassicaceae) from southwest Anatolia,Turkey

A new species, Alyssum kaynakiae Y?lmaz, is described from southwest Anatolia, Turkey. The new species belongs to Alyssum sect. Gamosepalum (Hausskn.) T. R. Dudley. Alyssum kaynakiae is closely related to A. niveum T. R. Dudley, but differs by its biennial life form, longer ascendent stems, not imbricated linear cauline leaves and equally inflated fruits.     

Rhus neoglutinosa sp. nov. (Anacardiaceae) and Teclea borenensis sp. nov. (Rutaceae) from Ethiopia.

Two new species, Rhus neoglutinosa M. Gilbert (Anacardiaceae) and Teclea borenensis M. Gilbert (Rutaceae) are described in preparation for the forthcoming Flora of Ethiopia.     

Diospyros korupensis sp. nov. and Diospyros onanae sp. nov. (Ebenaceae) from Cameroon

Diospyros korupensis Gosline is described as a new species endemic to the Korup National Park in Cameroon and neighbouring areas on the slopes of Mt Cameroon. Diospyros onanae Gosline is described as a new species from the South and Southwest Regions of Cameroon allied to the poorly known D. soyauxii Gürke & K. Schum. ex. Gürke.     

Coffeatoshii sp. nov. (Rubiaceae) from Madagascar

A new species of Coffea from southern central Madagascar, C. toshii, is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to C. buxifolia but differs due to its short, broad spreading habit (vs narrow habit), conspicuous domatia (vs inconspicuous), consistently red fruit (vs reddish purple to dull purple or red), longer fruiting pedicel (vs shorter), presence of bracts (vs absence) and occurrence at lower elevations (vs high elevation).     

Zingiberanamalayanum sp. nov. (Zingiberaceae) from India

Zingiber anamalayanum (Zingiberaceae), a new species from the southern western Ghats, India is described and illustrated. A phenetic analyses to assess the similarity indices and the uniqueness of the new species have been performed. A diagnostic key to Zingiber spp. in south India is provided.     

Echidnopsis globosa sp. nov. (Asclepiadaceae-Stapelieae) from Yemen

The new species Echidnopsis globosa from rocky hillsides on limestone in the Hadramaut Region in Yemen is described and illustrated. It belongs to a group of species including E. squamulata from Yemen and E. ericiflora from Kenya, but is unique in the genus by its almost perfectly globose flowers.     

Brachymenium deceptivum sp. nov. (Bryaceae) from Ethiopia

Brachymenium deceptivum, known only from the type specimen, is described from Ethiopia. It is immediately distinguished from all other species of the genus by its complete lack of an exostome.     

Jasione sphaerocephala sp.nov. (Campanulaceae) from Italy

Jasione sphaerocephala Brullo, Marcend et Pavone sp.nov. is described from Calabria, S Italy. It grows in rocky places and has some resemblance to J. laevis and J. montana. The chromosome number is 2n = 14.     

Rheum neyshabourense sp. nov. (Polygonaceae) from Iran

Rheum neyshabourense Baradaran & Jafari from northeastern Iran (Khorassan Razavi Province) is newly described. It is similar to R. ribes but differs in the number of prominent leaf veins, the position of the joint on the pedicle, fruit shape, epidermal cell shape and the type of stele in the inflorescence axis. A key to Rheum species in Iran is also provided.     

Selaginella lakkidiana sp. nov. (Selaginellaceae) from India

Selaginella lakkidiana Nisha, Nampy & Joby sp. nov. from Lakkidi, the Western Ghats of India is described and illustrated. The new species is closely allied to S. chrysorrhizos Spring, but differs by a serrate and smaller sporophyll, smooth megaspores, and reddish brown and pitted microspores.     

Parietaria taiwania sp. nov. (Urticaceae) from Taiwan

A new species of Urticaceae, Parietaria taiwania C. L. Yeh & C. S. Leou is described and illustrated. The new species is related to P. micrantha Ledebour, but can be distinguished from it by being a perennial herb with climbing or pendulous stems, leaves that are sparsely pubescent on the adaxial side, unisexual flowers, male flowers without bracts and female flowers with a bract. This is the first record of a species of Parietaria in Taiwan.     

Typhonium muaklekense sp. nov. (Araceae) from Thailand

Typhonium muaklekense D. Sookchaloem & S. Maneeanakekul is described and illustrated. This new species resembles T. roxburghii Schott and T. varians Hett. & Sookch. in the spathe. Drawings, photographs and a table comparing diagnostic features of T. muaklekense, T. roxburghii and T. varians are provided.
