Involvement of sympathetic nervous system and natriuretic peptides in the control of exercise-induced lipid mobilization was compared in overweight and lean men. Lipid mobilization was determined using local microdialysis during exercise. Subjects performed 35-min exercise bouts at 60% of their maximal oxygen consumption under placebo or after oral tertatolol [a beta-adrenergic receptor (AR) antagonist]. Under placebo, exercise increased dialysate glycerol concentration (DGC) in both groups. Phentolamine (alpha-AR antagonist) potentiated exercise-induced lipolysis in overweight but not in lean subjects; the alpha(2)-antilipolytic effect was only functional in overweight men. After tertatolol administration, the DGC increased similarly during exercise no matter which was used probe in both groups. Compared with the control probe under placebo, lipolysis was reduced in lean but not in overweight men treated with the beta-AR blocker. Tertatolol reduced plasma nonesterified fatty acids and insulin concentration in both groups at rest. Under placebo or tertatolol, the exercise-induced changes in plasma nonesterified fatty acids, glycerol, and insulin concentrations were similar in both groups. Exercise promoted a higher increase in catecholamine and ANP plasma levels after tertatolol administration. In conclusion, the major finding of our study is that in overweight men, in addition to an increased alpha(2)-antilipolytic effect, the lipid mobilization in subcutaneous adipose tissue that persists during exercise under beta-blockade is not dependent on catecholamine action. On the basis of correlation findings, it seems to be related to a concomitant exercise-induced rise in plasma ANP when exercise is performed under tertatolol intake and a decrease in plasma insulin.  相似文献

Hyperinsulinemia increases lactate release by various organs and tissues. Whereas it has been shown that aerobic glycolysis is linked to Na+-K+-ATPase activity, we hypothesized that stimulation by insulin of skeletal muscle Na+-K+-ATPase is responsible for increased muscle lactate production. To test this hypothesis, we assessed muscle lactate release in healthy volunteers from the [13C]lactate concentration in the effluent dialysates of microdialysis probes inserted into the tibialis anterior muscles on both sides and infused with solutions containing 5 mmol/l [U-13C]glucose. On one side, the microdialysis probe was intermittently infused with the same solution additioned with 2.10(-5) M ouabain. In the basal state, [13C]lactate concentration in the dialysate was not affected by ouabain. During a euglycemic-hyperinsulinemic clamp, [13C]lactate concentration increased by 135% in the dialysate without ouabain, and this stimulation was nearly entirely reversed by ouabain (56% inhibition compared with values in the dialysate collected from the contralateral probe). These data indicate that insulin stimulates muscle lactate release by activating Na+-K+-ATPase in healthy humans.  相似文献

Angiotensin II is synthesized locally in various tissues. However, the role of interstitial angiotensin II in the regulation of regional metabolism and tissue perfusion has not as yet been clearly defined. We characterized the effect of interstially applied angiotensin II in abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue of young, normal-weight, healthy men (n = 8) and women (n = 6) using the microdialysis technique. Adipose tissue was perfused with 0.01, 0.1, and 1 micro M angiotensin II. Dialysate concentrations of ethanol, glycerol, glucose, and lactate were measured to assess changes in blood flow (ethanol dilution technique), lipolysis, and glycolysis, respectively. Baseline ethanol ratio and dialysate lactate were both significantly higher, whereas dialysate glucose was significantly lower in men vs. women. In men, ethanol ratio and dialysate glucose, lactate and glycerol did not change significantly during perfusion with angiotensin II. In women, however, angiotensin II induced a significant increase in ethanol ratio and dialysate lactate and a decrease in dialysate glucose close to values found for men and this response was almost maximal at the lowest angiotensin II concentration used. Dialysate glycerol did not change significantly. We conclude that baseline blood flow and glucose supply and metabolism is significantly higher in women than in men. In men, interstitial Ang II has only a minimal effect on adipose tissue blood flow and metabolism. In women, however, a high physiological concentration of interstitial angiotensin II can reduce blood flow down to values found in men. This is associated with an impaired glucose supply and metabolism. Additionally, Ang II inhibits lipolysis.  相似文献

The purpose of our study was to evaluate the potential inhibition of adipose tissue mobilization by lactate. Eight male subjects (age, 26. 25 +/- 1.75 yr) in good physical condition (maximal oxygen uptake, 59.87 +/- 2.77 ml. kg-1. min-1; %body fat, 10.15 +/- 0.89%) participated in this study. For each subject, two microdialysis probes were inserted into abdominal subcutaneous tissue. Lactate (16 mM) was perfused via one of the probes while physiological saline only was perfused via the other, both at a flow rate of 2.5 microl/min. In both probes, ethanol was also perfused for adipose tissue blood flow estimation. Dialysates were collected every 10 min during rest (30 min), exercise at 50% maximal oxygen consumption (120 min), and recovery (30 min) for the measurement of glycerol concentration. During exercise, glycerol increased significantly in both probes. However, no differences in glycerol level and ethanol extraction were observed between the lactate and control probes. These findings suggest that lactate does not impair subcutaneous abdominal adipose tissue mobilization during exercise.  相似文献

8-Iso-prostaglandin F2alpha (8-iso-PGF2alpha) is a characteristic F2-isoprostane which is produced in humans via a free radical-catalysed lipid peroxidation mechanism of arachidonic acid, independent of the cycloxygenase pathway. The measurement of the plasma levels of 8-iso-PGF2alpha was shown to be the most reliable biochemical index of oxidant stress status in the human body. However, there is no reference in literature of local muscle interstitial 8-iso-PGF2alpha production during dynamic muscle contractions. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the response of 8-iso-PGF2alpha during intensive exercise with a cycle ergometer. Two microdialysis probes with CMA-60 microdialysis catheters were inserted into the vastus lateralis muscle of the right leg of six healthy male volunteers. After insertion, these microdialysis probes were attached to a perfusion pump that perfused ringer acetate solution at a rate of 0.3 microl/min. The dialysate fluid samples were collected: (a) during a 30 min rest period and (b) during a 30 min period of dynamic exercise with a cycle ergometer at 150 Watts. Our measurements showed that the levels of 8-iso-PGF2alpha in the interstitial fluid (IF) of the vastus lateralis muscle increase significantly during exercise (from 113.5 +/- 30.2 to 329.9 +/- 69.8 pg/ml, P = 0.05). In conclusion, dynamic muscle exercise produces a local increase of the IF levels of 8-iso-PGF2alpha due to local peroxidation injury of the contractive muscle. The microdialysis method is widely applied, easily repeated and it could contribute in evaluating the local lipid muscle peroxidation during intensive exercise.  相似文献

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of perfusion media with different glucose concentrations on dialysate levels of lactate, pyruvate, aspartate (Asp), and glutamate (Glu) under basal and hypoxic conditions in rat brain neocortex. Intracerebral microdialysis was performed with the rat under general anesthesia using bilateral probes (o.d. 0.3 mm; membrane length, 2 mm) perfused with artificial CSF containing 0.0 and 3.0 m M glucose, respectively. Basal dialysate levels were obtained 2 h after probe implantation in artificially ventilated animals. Dialysate levels of glucose were also measured for the two different perfusion fluids. The mean absolute extracellular concentration of glucose was estimated by a modification of the no-net-flux method to be 3.3 mmol/L, corresponding to an average in vivo recovery of 6% for glucose. Hypoxia was induced by lowering the inspired oxygen concentration to 3%. Hypoxia caused a disturbance of cortical electrical activity, evidenced by slower frequency and lower amplitudes on the electroencephalogram compared with prehypoxic conditions. This was associated with significant elevations of lactate, Asp, and Glu levels. There were no statistically significant differences in dialysate metabolite levels between the two perfusion fluids, during either normal or hypoxic conditions. We conclude that microdialysis with glucose-free perfusion fluid does not drain brain extracellular glucose in anesthetized rats to the extent that the dialysate lactate, pyruvate, Asp, and Glu levels during basal or hypoxic conditions are altered.  相似文献

To study whethersucrose administration acts on lipid mobilization during prolongedexercise, we used subcutaneous abdominal adipose tissue microdialysisin eight well-trained subjects submitted at random to two 100-minexercises (50% maximal aerobic power) on separate days. After 50 minof exercise, the subjects ingested either a sucrose solution (0.75 g/kgbody wt) or water. By using a microdialysis probe, dialysate wasobtained every 10 min from the subjects at rest, during exercise, andduring a 30-min recovery period. During exercise without sucrose, plasma and dialysate glycerol increased significantly. With sucrose, the response was significantly lower for dialysate glycerol(P < 0.05). Plasma free fatty acidlevel was lower after sucrose than after water ingestion(P < 0.05). With water ingestion, plasma catecholamines increased significantly, whereas insulin fell(P < 0.05). With sucrose ingestion, the epinephrine response was blunted, whereas the insulin level wassignificantly increased. In conclusion, the use of adipose tissuemicrodialysis directly supports a lower lipid mobilization duringexercise when sucrose is supplied, which confirms that the availabilityof carbohydrate influences lipid mobilization.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of substrate availability on fuel selection during exercise. Eight endurance-trained male cyclists performed 90-min exercise at 70 % of their maximal oxygen uptake in a cross-over design, either in rested condition (CON) or the day after 2-h exercise practised at 70 % of maximal oxygen uptake (EX). Subjects were given a sucrose load (0.75 g kg?1 body weight) 45 min after the beginning of the 90-min exercise test. Lipolysis was measured in subcutaneous abdominal adipose tissue (SCAT) by microdialysis and substrate oxidation by indirect calorimetry. Lipid oxidation increased during exercise and tended to decrease during sucrose ingestion in both conditions. Lipid oxidation was higher during the whole experimental period in the EX group (p?=?0.004). Interestingly, fuel selection, assessed by the change in respiratory exchange ratio (RER), was increased in the EX session (p?=?0.002). This was paralleled by a higher rate of SCAT lipolysis reflected by dialysate glycerol, plasma glycerol, and fatty acids (FA) levels (p?<?0.001). Of note, we observed a significant relationship between whole-body fat oxidation and dialysate glycerol in both sessions (r 2?=?0.33, p?=?0.02). In conclusion, this study highlights the limiting role of lipolysis and plasma FA availability to whole-body fat oxidation during exercise in endurance-trained subjects. This study shows that adipose tissue lipolysis is a determinant of fuel selection during exercise in healthy subjects.  相似文献

The purpose of the present study was to use the microdialysis technique to determine skeletal muscle interstitial glucose and lactate concentrations during dynamic incremental exercise in humans. Microdialysis probes were inserted into the vastus lateralis muscle, and subjects performed knee extensor exercise at workloads of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 W. The in vivo probe recoveries determined at rest by the internal reference method for glucose and lactate were 28.7 +/- 2.5 and 32.0 +/- 2.7%, respectively. As exercise intensity increased, probe recovery also increased, and at the highest workload probe recovery for glucose (61.0 +/- 3.9%) and lactate (66. 3 +/- 3.6%) had more than doubled. At rest the interstitial glucose concentration (3.5 +/- 0.2 mM) was lower than both the arterial (5.6 +/- 0.2 mM) and venous (5.3 +/- 0.3 mM) plasma water glucose levels. The interstitial glucose levels remained lower (P < 0.05) than the arterial and venous plasma water glucose concentrations during exercise at all intensities and at 10, 20, 30, and 50 W, respectively. At rest the interstitial lactate concentration (2.5 +/- 0.2 mM) was higher (P < 0.05) than both the arterial (0.9 +/- 0. 2 mM) and venous (1.1 +/- 0.2 mM) plasma water lactate levels. This relationship was maintained (P < 0.05) during exercise at workloads of 10, 20, and 30 W. These data suggest that interstitial glucose delivery at rest is flow limited and that during exercise changes in the interstitial concentrations of glucose and lactate mirror the changes observed in the venous plasma water compartments. Furthermore, skeletal muscle contraction results in an increase in the diffusion coefficient of glucose and lactate within the interstitial space as reflected by an elevation in probe recovery during exercise.  相似文献

As a result of the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial, there is increased emphasis on the importance of blood glucose concentration self-monitoring for people with diabetes. The current methods for this are not ideal, and there are many other possible techniques currently under investigation. One of these techniques is microdialysis, which can be used to analyse subcutaneous interstitial glucose concentrations. A system with high recovery has recently been used to monitor glucose concentrations with sampling over one- or two-hour periods. We have investigated whether this system can be used to monitor rapid changes in blood glucose concentration in healthy volunteers with collection intervals of only ten minutes. The results show that microdialysis can be used to monitor rapidly changing blood glucose concentration, but in some subjects, dialysate glucose lagged behind the whole blood and plasma glucose concentrations to a degree that would be clinically significant. It would therefore be necessary to assess the system, comparing dialysate with plasma glucose concentrations in each individual, prior to use in a clinical setting.  相似文献

The goal of the study was to examine whether lipid mobilization from adipose tissue undergoes changes during repeated bouts of prolonged aerobic exercise. Microdialysis of the subcutaneous adipose tissue was used for the assessment of lipolysis; glycerol concentration was measured in the dialysate leaving the adipose tissue. Seven male subjects performed two repeated bouts of 60-min exercise at 50% of their maximal aerobic power, separated by a 60-min recovery period. The exercise-induced increases in extracellular glycerol concentrations in adipose tissue and in plasma glycerol concentrations were significantly higher during the second exercise bout compared with the first (P < 0.05). The responses of plasma nonesterified fatty acids and plasma epinephrine were higher during the second exercise bout, whereas the response of norepinephrine was unchanged and that of growth hormone lower. Plasma insulin levels were lower during the second exercise bout. The results suggest that adipose tissue lipolysis during aerobic exercise of moderate intensity is enhanced when an exercise bout is preceded by exercise of the same intensity and duration performed 1 h before. This response pattern is associated with an increase in the exercise-induced rise of epinephrine and with lower plasma insulin values during the repeated exercise bout.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the involvement of the antilipolytic alpha(2)-adrenergic receptor pathway in the regulation of lipolysis during exercise in subcutaneous abdominal adipose tissue (SCAAT). Seven trained men and 15 untrained men were studied. With the use of microdialysis, the extracellular glycerol concentration was measured in SCAAT at rest and during 60 min of exercise at 50% of maximal oxygen consumption. One microdialysis probe was perfused with Ringer solution; the other was supplemented with phentolamine (alpha(2)-adrenergic receptor antagonist). No differences in baseline extracellular or plasma glycerol concentrations were found between the two groups. The exercise-induced extracellular and plasma glycerol increase was higher in trained compared with untrained subjects (P < 0.05). Addition of phentolamine to the perfusate enhanced the exercise-induced response of extracellular glycerol in untrained subjects but not in trained subjects. The exercise-induced increase in plasma norepinephrine and epinephrine concentrations and the decrease in plasma insulin were not different in the two groups. These in vivo findings demonstrate higher exercise-induced lipolysis in trained compared with untrained subjects and show that, in trained subjects, the alpha(2)-mediated antilipolytic action is not involved in the regulation of lipolysis in SCAAT during exercise.  相似文献

The pressor response to exercise is of great importance in both physiology and pathophysiology. Whether endogenous adenosine is a trigger for this reflex remains controversial. Muscle interstitial adenosine concentration can be determined by microdialysis. However, there are indications that local muscle cell damage by the microdialysis probe confounds these measurements in exercising muscle. Therefore, we used the nucleoside uptake inhibitor dipyridamole as pharmacological tool to bypass this confounding. We used microdialysis probes to measure endogenous adenosine in forearm skeletal muscle of healthy volunteers during two cycles of 15 min of intermittent isometric handgripping. During the second contraction, dipyridamole (12 microg.min(-1).dl forearm(-1)) was administered into the brachial artery. Dipyridamole potentiated the exercise-induced increase in dialysate adenosine from 0.30 +/- 0.08 to 0.48 +/- 0.10 micromol/l (n = 9, P < 0.05), but it did not potentiate the exercise-induced increase in blood pressure. A time-control study without dipyridamole revealed no difference in exercise-induced increase in adenosine between both contractions (n = 8). To exclude the possibility that the dipyridamole-induced increase in dialysate adenosine originates from extravasation of increased circulating adenosine, we simultaneously measured adenosine with microdialysis probes in forearm muscle and antecubital vein. In a separate group of nine volunteers, simultaneous intrabrachial infusion of 100 microg.min(-1).dl(-1) dipyridamole and 5 microg.min(-1).dl(-1) adenosine increased dialysate adenosine from the intravenous but not the interstitial probe, indicating preserved endothelial barrier function for adenosine. We conclude that dipyridamole significantly inhibits uptake of interstitial adenosine without affecting the pressor response to exercise, suggesting that interstitial adenosine is not involved in the pressor response to rhythmic isometric exercise.  相似文献

Subcutaneous adipose tissue lipolysis was studied in vivo by Fick's arteriovenous (a-v) principle using either calculated (microdialysis) or directly measured (catheterization) adipose tissue venous glycerol concentration. We compared results during steady-state (rest and prolonged continuous exercise), as well as during non-steady-state (onset of exercise and early exercise) experimental settings. Fourteen healthy women [age: 74 +/- 1 (SE) yr] were studied at rest and during 60-min continuous bicycling at 60% of peak O(2) uptake. Calculated and measured subcutaneous abdominal adipose tissue venous glycerol concentrations increased substantially from rest to exercise but were similar both at rest and during later stages of exercise. In contrast, during the initial approximately 40 min of exercise, calculated glycerol concentration was significantly lower (approximately 40%) than measured adipose tissue venous glycerol concentration. Despite several methodological limitations inherent to both techniques, the results strongly suggest that microdialysis and catheterization provide similar estimates of subcutaneous adipose tissue lipolysis in steady-state experimental settings like rest and continuous prolonged exercise. However, during shorter periods of exercise (<40 min), the results from the two techniques may differ quantitatively in the studied subjects. Caution should, therefore, be taken when lipolysis is evaluated, based on results obtained by the two techniques under non-steady-state conditions.  相似文献

Cyclic AMP (cAMP) appears extracellularly in a variety of tissues including brain, liver, and kidney; whether it appears in adipose tissue and responds to physiological perturbation is unknown. The purpose of this study was to examine adipose tissue extracellular cAMP appearance and metabolism in situ and in vitro in physiologically challenged animals. Littermate swine were either sedentary or exercise trained on a treadmill for 3 months and subjected to acute exercise on experiment day. In situ, microdialysis probes in subcutaneous back fat were perfused before, during, and after animals performed 20 mins of acute exercise, and dialysate was analyzed for cAMP and adenosine. In vitro, isolated adipocytes were hormonally stimulated to provoke cAMP synthesis and efflux, and plasma membrane phosphodiesterase and 5'-nucleotidase activities were measured. Extracellular cAMP and adenosine levels in adipose tissue of sedentary swine averaged 5.2 +/- 1.7 and 863 +/- 278 nM, respectively. Exercise training tended to increase extracellular cAMP (11.3 +/- 1.7 nM) and reduce extracellular adenosine (438 +/- 303 nM), although neither change was statistically significant. Acute exercise caused a significant 3-fold and 16-fold increase in extracellular cAMP and adenosine, respectively, compared to rest. These changes occurred despite a 2- to 3-fold increase in adipose tissue blood flow during acute exercise. In vitro, cAMP efflux from exercise-trained swine was 42% greater than that from adipocytes of sedentary swine, yet adipocyte plasma membranes from exercise-trained and sedentary swine did not differ in maximal phosphodiesterase and 5'-nucleotidase activities. We conclude that cAMP appears extracellularly in swine adipose tissue and that the levels of extracellular cAMP and adenosine in intact swine adipose tissue are influenced by both acute and chronic exercise. The subsequent impact of the changes in these biochemicals on local cellular metabolism and growth remains to be determined.  相似文献

Objectives

Metabolic flexibility is defined as ability to adjust fuel oxidation to fuel availability. Multiple sclerosis (MS) results in reduced muscle strength and exercise intolerance. We tested the hypothesis that altered metabolic flexibility contributes to exercise intolerance in MS patients.

Methods

We studied 16 patients (all on glatiramer) and 16 matched healthy controls. Energy expenditure (EE), and carbohydrate (COX) and lipid oxidation (LOX) rates were determined by calorimetry, before and after an oral glucose load. We made measurements either at rest (canopy device) or during 40 min low-grade (0.5 W/kg) exercise (metabolic chamber). We also obtained plasma, and adipose tissue and skeletal muscle dialysate samples by microdialysis to study tissue-level metabolism under resting conditions.

Results

At rest, fasting and postprandial plasma glucose, insulin, and free fatty acid levels did not differ between patients and controls. Fasting and postprandial COX was higher and LOX lower in patients. In adipose, fasting and postprandial dialysate glucose, lactate, and glycerol levels were higher in patients vs. controls. In muscle, fasting and postprandial dialysate metabolite levels did not differ significantly between the groups. During exercise, EE did not differ between the groups. However, COX increased sharply over 20 min in patients, without reaching a steady state, followed by an immediate decrease within the next 20 min and fell even below basal levels after exercise in patients, compared to controls.

Conclusions

Glucose tolerance is not impaired in MS patients. At rest, there is no indication for metabolic inflexibility or mitochondrial dysfunction in skeletal muscle. The increased adipose tissue lipolytic activity might result from glatiramer treatment. Autonomic dysfunction might cause dysregulation of postprandial thermogenesis at rest and lipid mobilization during exercise.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate the distribution of lactate in plasma, whole blood, erythrocytes, and capillary finger blood, before and during submaximal exercise. Ten healthy male subjects performed submaximal graded cycle ergometer exercise for 20-25 min. Venous blood samples and capillary finger blood samples were taken before exercise and every 5th min during exercise for lactate determination. The plasma lactate concentration was significantly higher (P less than 0.001, approximately 50%) than in the erythrocytes. This difference was not altered by the venous blood lactate concentration or exercise intensity. A significant difference (P less than 0.01) in lactate concentration was also found between capillary whole blood and venous whole blood. It was concluded that direct comparisons between lactate in capillary finger blood, venous whole blood and plasma could not be made.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine plasma and intraerythrocyte lactate concentrations during graded exercise in humans. Seven adult volunteers performed a maximum O2 uptake (VO2max) test on a cycle ergometer. Plasma and intraerythrocyte lactate concentrations (mmol . L-1 of plasma or cell water) were determined at rest, during exercise, and at 15-min post-exercise. The results show that plasma and intraerythrocyte lactate concentrations were not significantly different from each other at rest or moderate (less than or equal to 50% VO2max) exercise. However, the plasma concentrations were significantly increased over the intraerythrocyte levels at 75% and 100% VO2max. The plasma to red cell lactate gradient reached a mean (+/- SE) 1.7 +/- 0.4 mmol . L-1 of H2O at exhaustion, and was linearly (r = 0.84) related to the plasma lactate concentration during exercise. Interestingly, at 15-min post-exercise the direction of the lactate gradient was reversed, with the mean intraerythrocyte concentration now being significantly increased over that found in the plasma. These results suggest that the erythrocyte membrane provides a barrier to the flux of lactate between plasma and red cells during rapidly changing blood lactate levels. Furthermore, these data add to the growing body of research that indicates that lactate is not evenly distributed in the various water compartments of the body during non-steady state exercise.  相似文献

Effect of dichloroacetate on lactate concentration in exercising humans   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The precise mechanism responsible for the increase in plasma lactate concentration during exercise in humans is not known. We have used dichloroacetate to test the hypothesis that a limitation in pyruvate dehydrogenase activity is responsible for the rise in plasma lactate. Dichloroacetate stimulates the activity of pyruvate dehydrogenase, which is normally the regulatory enzyme in the oxidation of glucose when tissue oxygenation is adequate. Six subjects were studied twice according to a randomized, crossover protocol, involving one test with saline infusion and another with dichloroacetate infusion. Exercise load on a bicycle ergometer was increased progressively until exhaustion. Blood samples were drawn each minute throughout exercise and periodically throughout 120 min of recovery. Dichloroacetate significantly lowered the lactate concentration during exercise performed at less than 80% of the average maximal O2 consumption. The peak concentration of lactate at exhaustion was not affected by dichloroacetate treatment, but dichloroacetate did lower lactate concentration throughout recovery. These results suggest that a limitation in pyruvate dehydrogenase activity contributes to the increase in plasma lactate during submaximal exercise and recovery.  相似文献

These experiments for the first time examine simultaneous changes in glucose and lactate in unanaesthetised animals during moderate hypoxia. Unanaesthetised rats were exposed to moderate hypoxia for a period of 15 min by reducing inspired oxygen to 8%. Changes in glucose and lactate were monitored in rat cortex using microdialysis and a novel dual enzyme-based assay. Samples of dialysate collected at 3-min intervals were assayed for both glucose and lactate. There was an early rapid rise of lactate that reached a peak at the end of the period of hypoxia followed by a steep decline. Glucose showed a very much smaller delayed increase that started during the period of hypoxia and continued beyond it. The origin of the rise in glucose is discussed, using the temporal relationship between the lactate and glucose changes.  相似文献
