The inhibitor of alkaline RNase from different sources has been compared by gel electrophoresis. Independently of the tissue from which it was derived, this factor migrates with the same mobility. On the gels the RNase-inhibitor complex is slightly retarded behind the free inhibitor. The use of a semi-preparative gel electrophoretic procedure allows further fractionation of about 100 mg partially purified inhibitor material in a single run. 相似文献

The combination of opaque-2 with starch-modified or starch-deficient mutants produced a cumulative and synergistic effect, respectively, in regulating zein synthesis. The double mutant, brittle-2 opaque-2, which almost completely prevented the synthesis of Z1 and Z2, had high RNase activity. Many ribonucleases (RNases) are able to inhibit the reproduction of viruses in infected cell cultures and laboratory animals, but the molecular mechanisms of their antiviral activity remain unclear. The review discusses the well-known RNases that possess established antiviral effects, including both intracellular RNases (RNase L, MCPIP1 protein, and eosinophil-associated RNases) and exogenous RNases (RNase A, BS-RNase, onconase, binase, and synthetic RNases). Attention is paid to two important, but not always obligatory, aspects of molecules of RNases that have antiviral properties, i.e., catalytic activity and ability to dimerize. The hypothetic scheme of virus elimination by exogenous RNases that reflects possible types of interaction of viruses and RNases with a cell is proposed. The evidence for RNases as classical components of immune defense and thus perspective agents for the development of new antiviral therapeutics is proposed. 相似文献

Levels of immunoglobulins were determined in persons exposed to high altitude. The individuals studied included high altitude natives, sea level residents at high altitude for 2 years, and recent arrivals at high altitude. Increased IgG and IgA levels were found in high altitude natives and sea level residents at high altitude for 2 years when compared with sea level residents. In recent arrivals marked increase of IgG and IgG levels and slight rise in IgM was seen. Recent arrivals who suffered from high altitude pulmonary oedema showed marked elevation of IgG, IgM, and IgA. Immunoglobulin responses to both primary and secondary TAB inoculation were of a higher magnitude and more sustained at high altitude than at sea level. 相似文献

Highly purified feather keratin mRNA, prepared by dissociation of mRNP particles in Na dodecyl sulphate, was translated in a wheat embryo cell-free system with similar efficiency to rabbit globin mRNA and RNA purified from cucumber mosaic virus. The only detectable products of translation of the keratin mRNA were keratin chains, which were identical to native keratin chains as judged by several different criteria. These results support previous conclusions that the keratin mRNA can be obtained in a pure state. 相似文献
