为了阐明金钱豹(Panthera pardus)和猪獾(Arctonyx collaris)心冠状动脉的分支分布特征及血供情况,为心脏生物学及动物学研究提供结构基础资料,利用血管铸型和组织透明方法观察研究了金钱豹与猪獾心左、右冠状动脉的分支分布.结果表明,金钱豹和猪獾的心均由左右冠状动脉营养.金钱豹左冠状动脉分为室间隔支、前降支和旋支.前降支又分出左室上支、左室中支和左室下支.右冠状动脉沿途分出右室前支、右室后下支和右室后上支.猪獾左冠状动脉分为前降支和旋支.前降支又分出室间隔支和左室前支,旋支又分出左缘支和左室后支.其右冠状动脉沿途分出右室前支、右缘支和右室后支.金钱豹和猪獾心的室间隔均由发自左冠状动脉的独立的室间隔支营养,二者左右冠状动脉在膈壁的分布属于均衡型.  相似文献

A crayfish for cancer research Marmorkrebs (or marbled crayfish) is a triploid crayfish known since the mid‐1990s, which reproduces parthenogenetically. It originated from the North American decapod species Procambarus fallax and was distributed as a popular aquarium pet. Subsequent anthropogenic releases have resulted in the establishment of several stable populations in the wild that constitute a serious invasive threat. Interestingly, marbled crayfish use a parthenogenetic mode of reproduction that results in the generation of clones with minimal genetic variation. In addition, the animals can be easily bred and manipulated in the laboratory. These features establish marbled crayfish as a novel and innovative model organism for tumor biology, particularly for the analysis of clonal evolution and epigenetic adaptation of tumor genomes.  相似文献

The parthenogenetic marbled crayfish, Procambarus virginalis, is currently being discussed as a promising new candidate for aquaculture that could supply people in developing countries with high-quality protein and income. The main advantage of marbled crayfish is parthenogenetic reproduction. Comparison of growth between marbled crayfish and red swamp crayfish, Procambarus clarkii, the leading species in crayfish aquaculture revealed inferior body size and considerably slower growth in marbled crayfish. Only a very small proportion of the production would meet the size requirement of the international market and could serve as a cash crop. Aquaculture for local markets in extensive outdoor systems is probably economically feasible in developing countries, but the highly invasive and competitive marbled crayfish could easily escape from such sites, invade natural ecosystems and impair the autochthonous fauna and flora. Culture in closed indoor systems would be a safe alternative but this cost-intensive approach is economically not profitable. Because of small body size and slow growth, conservation concerns, and economic reasons, the marbled crayfish is considered unsuitable for aquaculture. It should not be spread around the globe for aquaculture and sustainable fisheries as was earlier done with the congeneric Procambarus clarkii, resulting in devastating ecological effects in numerous countries.

Recently, we briefly reported on the first case of parthenogenesis in the decapod Crustacea which was found in the Marmorkrebs or marbled crayfish, a cambarid species of unknown geographic origin and species identity. Curiously, this animal is known only from aquarium populations, where it explosively propagates. By means of light and electron microscopic techniques we have now investigated the reproductive components of this crayfish, using more than 100 specimens ranging from hatchling to repeatedly spawned adult. Additionally, we documented its principal life stages. Our results revealed that the external sexual characters and also the gonads of the marbled crayfish are purely female, making this fast-reproducing species a good model for investigating female reproductive features in crayfish. Testicular tissues, ovotestes, or male gonoducts, gonopores, or gonopods were never found, either in small juveniles or large adult specimens, confirming the parthenogenetic nature of this crayfish. Parthenogenesis may have arisen spontaneously or by interspecific hybridization since Wolbachia-like feminizing microorganisms were not found in the ovaries. The external sexual characters of the marbled crayfish are first recognized in Stage 4 juveniles and are structurally complete approximately 2 months after hatching in specimens of approximately 2 cm total length. In the same life stage the ovary is fully differentiated as well, although the oocytes are in previtellogenic and primary vitellogenic stages only. The architecture of the mature ovary and also the synchronous maturation of cohorts of primary vitellogenic oocytes by secondary vitellogenesis are in general agreement with data published on ovaries of bisexual crayfish. New results were obtained with respect to the muscular nature of the ovarian envelope and its extensive proliferation after the first spawning, the distribution of hemal sinuses in the ovarian envelope and in the interstitium around the oogenetic pouches, the high transport activity of the follicle cells, and the colonization of oogenetic pouches by previtellogenic oocytes that originate in the germaria. Investigation of the nuclei of oocytes in the germaria and oogenetic pouches revealed no signs of meiosis, as usually found in females of bisexual decapods, suggesting that parthenogenesis in the marbled crayfish might be an apomictic thelytoky. The detection of new rickettsial and coccidian infections in the ovary and further organs raises fears that the marbled crayfish might endanger native European species by transmission of pathogens once escaped into the wild.  相似文献

Although vertebrates appear bilaterally symmetric on the outside, various internal organs, including the heart, are asymmetric with respect to their position and/or their orientation based on the left/right (L/R) axis. The L/R axis is determined during embryo development. Determination of the L/R axis is fundamentally different from the determination of the anterior-posterior or the dorsal-ventral axis. In all vertebrates a ciliated organ has been described that induces a left-sided gene expression program, which includes Nodal expression in the left lateral plate mesoderm. To have a better understanding of organ laterality it is important to understand how L/R patterning induces cellular responses during organogenesis. In this review, we discuss the current understanding of the mechanisms of L/R patterning during zebrafish development and focus on how this affects cardiac morphogenesis. Several recent studies have provided unprecedented insights into the intimate link between L/R signaling and the cellular responses that drive morphogenesis of this organ.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Nervous systems are largely bilaterally symmetric on a morphological level but often display striking degrees of functional left/right (L/R) asymmetry. How L/R asymmetric functional features are superimposed onto an essentially bilaterally symmetric structure and how nervous-system laterality relates to the L/R asymmetry of internal organs are poorly understood. We address these questions here by using the establishment of L/R asymmetry in the ASE chemosensory neurons of C. elegans as a paradigm. This bilaterally symmetric neuron pair is functionally lateralized in that it senses a distinct class of chemosensory cues and expresses a putative chemoreceptor family in a L/R asymmetric manner. RESULTS: We show that the directionality of the asymmetry of the two postmitotic ASE neurons ASE left (ASEL) and ASE right (ASER) in adults is dependent on a L-/R-symmetry-breaking event at a very early embryonic stage, the six-cell stage, which also establishes the L/R asymmetric placement of internal organs. However, the L/R asymmetry of the ASE neurons per se is dependent on an even earlier anterior-posterior (A/P) Notch signal that specifies embryonic ABa/ABp blastomere identities at the four-cell stage. This Notch signal, which functions through two T box genes, acts genetically upstream of a miRNA-controlled bistable feedback loop that regulates the L/R asymmetric gene-expression program in the postmitotic ASE cells. CONCLUSIONS: Our results link adult neuronal laterality to the generation of the A/P axis at the two-cell stage and raise the possibility that neural asymmetries observed across the animal kingdom are similarly established by very early embryonic interactions.  相似文献

本文对50例健康的商品猪心脏的铸型标本进行了观察,结果如下:左冠状动脉旋枝与锥旁室间枝的夹角为74.4±2.07度。对角枝出现率为24%,并证明了对角枝出现率与其夹角大小呈正比关系。窦房结枝84%来自右冠状动脉。房室结枝98%来自右冠状动脉。左房旋枝出现率为8%。室间隔的供血由锥旁室间枝的分枝负担61%,约为3/5,窦下室间枝的分技负担39%,约为2/5。室上嵴技、Kugel动脉、室间隔中枝和室间隔背倒前枝的出现率分别为78%、20%、68%和28%。心尖区的血液由左、右冠状动脉共同供应。50例左、右冠状动脉始部外径之比为1.2∶1。左、右冠状动脉在心膈面的分布类型以右强型为主。本文还讨论了猪冠状动脉与狗、人冠状动脉的异同。  相似文献

Two cases of coronary arteriovenous fistulae are reported. In the first case, the right coronary artery (RCA) drained into the right ventricular outflow tract, and the distal RCA filled through a branch of the left anterior descending coronary artery. In the second case, the RCA drained into the right atrium and filled through a branch of the left circumflex artery. The fistulae were closed with subcoronary mattress sutures that preserved the continuity of the native circulation.  相似文献

Evidence is presented which indicates that blood leaving side branches of an internal mammary artery implanted into the anterior wall of the right ventricle flows from the tunnel in which it lies through myocardial sinusoidal spaces of the anterior right ventricular wall across the midline to fill corresponding spaces in the anterior wall of the left ventricle and thence is carried to the left coronary sinus. The myocardial sinusoidal spaces of right and left ventricles have been well outlined, using injections of polyvinyl acetate and the technique of digestion casts. We have been able to show that there is no barrier between the myocardial sinusoids of the right circulation and those related to the anterior descending branch of the left coronary artery. In structure, these myocardial sinusoidal spaces are quite different from the intramyocardial coronary arteriolar zones which, in 93% of human hearts, are separated from one another without collateral communication.The continuity of the right and left ventricular myocardial sinusoids explains why implantation of a right internal mammary artery into the anterior wall of the right ventricle combined with a corresponding left implant, epicardiectomy and free omental graft, has been so effective in our hands in the treatment of far-advanced human coronary artery insufficiency.  相似文献

Model organisms have contributed significantly to the understanding of basic biological phenomena. Suitable animal models are at hand for some research disciplines like genetics, development and cell biology but are still sought after for others like epigenetics. Research of the last years has revealed that the marbled crayfish (Marmorkrebs), which was discovered in the mid-1990s, meets researchers' demands for a vigorous, genetically identical and eurytopic laboratory model very well. Its most prominent advantages are production of high numbers of genetically identical offspring, stepwise alteration of the phenotype by moulting, complex morphology and behaviour and sequential generation of segments and limbs. This paper first reviews the discovery and research history of the marbled crayfish, its biology and culture and its special advantages. It then discusses, based on the published data, its suitability as a laboratory model for various research disciplines. The greatest potential of the marbled crayfish lies in epigenetics and environmental epigenomics and in stem cell research and regeneration. The marbled crayfish also appears to be suitable for the investigation of the role of stochastic developmental variation and epigenetic inheritance in evolution and to contribute to evo-devo and eco-devo. This unique crayfish is even of some value for applied biologists, for example as a toxicological test species.  相似文献

The late embryonic and early post‐embryonic life period of freshwater crayfish, which is the main time period of organogenesis, is poorly investigated because of the protective brooding behavior of crayfish mothers. A combination of in vitro culture, behavioral observations, and microscopic investigations of organs involved in hatching, attachment, exploration of the environment, and searching and processing of food yielded deeper insights in this important period of life. Experiments were performed with the robust parthenogenetic marbled crayfish. The following results were obtained: (1) Marbled crayfish can be raised in simple in vitro systems from 80% embryonic development to juvenile Stage 4 with up to 100% survival; (2) Hatching is prepared by chemical weakening of the egg shell and completed by levering actions of the hatchling's appendages; (3) The telson thread, a safety line that keeps the hatchling secured to the mother, is formed by secretions from the telson and the detaching inner layer of the egg case; (4) Molting Stage‐1 juveniles are secured by an anal thread that results from delayed molting of the hindgut; (5) Active attachment of the hatchlings to the maternal pleopods with their 1st pereiopods is achieved by an innate fixed action pattern; (6) In vitro, juveniles are motile from Stage 2 despite incomplete development of their balance controlling statocysts. Movement pattern and social behavior vary greatly among individuals; and (7) Feeding starts in Stage 3, when the mouthparts and the gastric mill are fully developed. Onset of feeding is innate and does not require maternal contributions. In vitro culture of the isogenic marbled crayfish is recommended for broader use in research because it enables not only time and stage‐specific sampling but also precisely timed experimental manipulations. 132 hearts obtained from cadavers were dissected in order to study anomalies in the course and branches of human coronary arteries. Only in 1 heart was a deviation of the circumflex branch of the left coronary artery taking a course inferior to the coronary sulcus observed. The right coronary artery travelled the entire length of the coronary sulcus on the back of the heart and gave both a posterior ventricular and a collateral branch. Circumflex branches of the right and left coronary arteries did not anastomose.  相似文献

A 62-year-old man was admitted to the coronary care unit due to anginal pain and palpitations--coronary angiography revealed three-vessel coronary artery disease. The unexpected finding was the presence of coronary to pulmonary artery fistulae bilaterally, from both the proximal RCA and the proximal LAD. Right heart catheterization revealed normal right ventricular and pulmonary artery pressure and absence of hemodynamically significant left to right shunt. The patient underwent a triple coronary bypass including the closure of bilateral fistulae, which were draining into the left sinus of the pulmonary valve. One month after the operation he was in good health and had no complaints. Bilateral coronary artery fistulae is a rare anomaly diagnosed in 0.002-0.0013% of adult coronary angiograms. We offer a comprehensive classification of coronary artery anomalies, together with angiographic examples of each entity. Minimal requirements for normality include the following criteria: (1) the dual aortic origin is from right and left coronary ostia; (2) the course of the right coronary artery follows the right atrioventricular groove; (3) the course of the left coronary artery follows the left atrioventricular groove and anterior interventricular groove; (4) the posterior descending branch originates from either the right or left coronary artery; (5) the major coronary branches flow epicardially; and (6) the coronary arteries terminate at the myocardial capillary level. This conception of "normal" coronary arteries has determined the classification of abnormalities presented here. Early and correct diagnosis of anomalies that may compromise the myocardial blood supply is stressed, and possible surgical solutions are offered. Selective coronary angiography is the technique of choice for precise visualization of the coronary artery system.  相似文献

Background

Studies of symmetric structures have made important contributions to evolutionary biology, for example, by using fluctuating asymmetry as a measure of developmental instability or for investigating the mechanisms of morphological integration. Most analyses of symmetry and asymmetry have focused on organisms or parts with bilateral symmetry. This is not the only type of symmetry in biological shapes, however, because a multitude of other types of symmetry exists in plants and animals. For instance, some organisms have two axes of reflection symmetry (biradial symmetry; e.g. many algae, corals and flowers) or rotational symmetry (e.g. sea urchins and many flowers). So far, there is no general method for the shape analysis of these types of symmetry.

Results

We generalize the morphometric methods currently used for the shape analysis of bilaterally symmetric objects so that they can be used for analyzing any type of symmetry. Our framework uses a mathematical definition of symmetry based on the theory of symmetry groups. This approach can be used to divide shape variation into a component of symmetric variation among individuals and one or more components of asymmetry. We illustrate this approach with data from a colonial coral that has ambiguous symmetry and thus can be analyzed in multiple ways. Our results demonstrate that asymmetric variation predominates in this dataset and that its amount depends on the type of symmetry considered in the analysis.

Conclusions

The framework for analyzing symmetry and asymmetry is suitable for studying structures with any type of symmetry in two or three dimensions. Studies of complex symmetries are promising for many contexts in evolutionary biology, such as fluctuating asymmetry, because these structures can potentially provide more information than structures with bilateral symmetry.  相似文献

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of an asymmetric sidepack carrying system on frontal plane joint moments of force in both lower extremities and in the L5/S1 joint during level walking. Ground reaction force data and frontal plane film records were obtained from five males performing three walking conditions: 0, 10 and 20% bodyweight loads in a sidepack supported by the left shoulder. Inverse dynamics were used to calculate the lower extremity moments during stance and a static model of the pelvis was used to calculate the L5/S1 moments during single support for each limb. Normal walking was characterized by symmetric kinetics between left and right limbs and around the L5/S1 joint. The asymmetric loads produced unbalanced lateral trunk muscle dominance between left and right limb stance phases, increased right hip and knee moments and decreased left hip and knee moments. During normal walking, the L5/S1 moment was dominant on the contralateral trunk side for both limbs. The asymmetric loads applied to the left side caused a shift in L5/S1 moment dominance to the right side during left and right single support phases.  相似文献

The 3rd coronary artery, whose anatomical significance is defined, is a normal variant of the conus branch of the right coronary artery. This study involved the stereoscopic comparative investigation of human fetal hearts from 13 to 40 weeks of age and human adult hearts from 18 to 88 a of age. The incidence of the 3rd coronary artery in human fetuses was 45 out of 218 or 20.6%. No clear sexual differences were observed. Anastomoses had already developed between the 3rd coronary and the branches of the left anterior descending artery during the fetal stage. The 3rd coronary artery orifices in human fetuses was located at 9 o'clock (+/- 0 degree) most frequent (48.9%), and at 8 o'clock (-30 degrees) most infrequent (22.2%). The incidence of the 3rd coronary artery in human adults was 36.8%. In the human adult's normal group, the orifice was located at 9 o'clock (+/- 0 degree) most frequent (59.0%), and at 8 o'clock (-30 degrees) most infrequent (14.8%), while on the other hand in the pathologic group, the orifice was located at 9 o'clock (+/- 0 degree) most frequent (54.9%) and at 10 o'clock (+30 degrees) most infrequent (11.5%). Further, multiple 3rd coronary artery orifices, which were not observed in human fetal hearts, were observed in the human adults' heart. Furthermore, the existence of multiple orifices and the fact that human adult hearts had a higher incidence than human fetal hearts suggests the possibility that the 3rd coronary artery develops after birth.  相似文献
