The early stages of a repopulation process of HeLa cells under the action of irradiation 5 Gy dose and an influence of a preliminary 0.1 Gy dose irradiation at that process were investigated. As it was shown the fraction of cells with a great proliferation potential appeared in one day after lethal 5 Gy dose irradiation of the resting HeLa cells. If the other irradiation regime was used: 0.1 Gy dose plus 4.9 Gy dose in 3 min after the first action, the part of cells with a great proliferation potential became considerably less.  相似文献

用~(60)Co-γ射线对3个豇豆品种(天畅9号、詹豇215、早生王)干种子进行200 Gy、400 Gy、~(60)0 Gy、800 Gy和1 000 Gy辐照处理,研究不同剂量对豇豆M1代生长发育的影响。结果表明:低剂量下效应不明显,高剂量对生育进程有延后和抑制作用,发芽势、发芽率、出苗率、生长速率及叶绿素含量下降,叶片变小,分枝数、有效花梗数、结荚数减少;豇豆不同品种对γ射线敏感性不同,天畅9号、詹豇215、早生王的半致死剂量分别为234 Gy、490 Gy、553 Gy。  相似文献

Early preimplantation bovine embryos at 8- or 16-cell stage were analysed by [5-3H]uridine autoradiography for distribution of newly synthesized RNA after 60Co irradiation with a single dose of 1 Gy, 2 Gy or 4 Gy gamma rays, respectively. Embryos irradiated with a single dose of 1 Gy showed equally decreased synthesis of RNA in nucleoplasma as well as in nucleolus. In embryos irradiated with a single dose of 2 Gy or 4 Gy, RNA synthesis was decreased and localized mostly on the periphery of the nucleus; in both cases of irradiation, the nucleus center being without labelling. In most of embryos irradiated with a dose of 4 Gy, the nucleoli were not labelled, and an increasing occurrence appeared of various nucleus chromatin segregation forms, mainly as its marginalization.  相似文献

The frequency of reciprocal translocations (RT) in mouse spermatogonia induced by gamma-rays at doses of 1.5 to 4.5 Gy and dose rates of 2.7 X 10(-6), 5.8 X 10(-6), 9.4 X 10(-5) and 4.5 Gy/min was studied. A linear increase was observed in the RT frequency with increasing the dose, at all dose rates. At 9.4 X 10(-5) Gy/min the RT frequency was, on average, 10 times lower, as compared to that for a single acute dose rate of 4.5 Gy/min. Further reduction of the dose rate did not result in a decrease of the RT yield, and at the lowest dose rate of 2.7 X 10(-6) Gy/min (the dose being 3.0 Gy) the RT frequency was higher than using the same dose at dose rates of 5.8 X 10(-6) and 9.4 X 10(-5) Gy/min. Possible reasons for an increase in the RT frequency at low dose rates are considered. A study of the frequency of abnormal sperm heads (ASH) has shown that at the dose rate of 9.4 X 10(-5) Gy/min it is independent of an accumulated dose and is equal to the value obtained when exposing to an acute dose of 3.0 Gy. At dose rates of 2.7 X 10(-6) and 5.8 X 10(-6) Gy/min ASH frequencies were only slightly increased at all doses, as compared to the control level.  相似文献

Although the importance of radiation-induced adaptive response has been recognized in human health, risk assessment and clinical application, the phenomenon has not been understood well in terms of survival of animals. To examine this aspect Swiss albino mice were irradiated with different doses (2–10 Gy) at 0015 Gy/s dose rate and observed on a regular basis for 30 days. Since almost 50% lethality was seen with 8 Gy, it was selected as the challenging dose for further studies. Irradiation of mice with conditioning doses (0.25 or 0.5 Gy) and subsequent exposure to 8 Gy caused significant increase in the survival of mice compared to irradiated control. The splitting of challenging dose did not influence the efficiency of conditioning doses (0.25 Gy and 0.5 Gy) to induce an adaptive response. However conditioning doses given in fractions (0.25 Gy + 0.25 Gy) or (0.5 Gy + 0.5 Gy) were able to modulate the response of challenging dose of 8 Gy. These results clearly showed the occurrence of adaptive response in terms of survival of animals. The conditioning dose given in small fractions seemed to be more effective. The findings have been discussed from a mechanistic point of view. The possible biological implications, potential medical benefits, uncertainties and controversies related to adaptive response have also been addressed  相似文献

The animals were irradiated within adaptive dose of 0.1 Gy and 5 hours later with a challenge dose of 2 Gy. The adaptive dose reduced the effects induced by the challenge dose of 2 Gy: the increased content of the products of lipid peroxidation reactive to thiobarbituric acid in blood serum, and the increased number of breaks in thymus DNA of irradiated mice.  相似文献

Mammary tumour development was followed in two experiments involving a total of 2229 female Sprague-Dawley rats exposed to various doses of X or gamma rays at different dose rates. The data for another 462 rats exposed to tritiated water in one of these experiments were also analyzed. The incidence of adenocarcinomas and fibroadenomas at a given time after exposure increased linearly in proportion to total radiation dose for most groups. However, no significant increase in adenocarcinomas was observed with chronic gamma exposures up to 1.1 Gy, and the increase in fibroadenomas observed with chronic gamma exposures at a dose rate of 0.0076 Gy h-1 up to an accumulated dose of 3.3 Gy was small compared to that observed after acute exposures. The incidence of all mammary tumors increased almost linearly with the log of dose rate in the range 0.0076 to 26.3 Gy h-1 for 3 Gy total dose of gamma rays. The effects of X rays appeared to be less influenced by dose rate than were the effects of gamma rays.  相似文献

On mice lines BALB/c and CBA/lac was performed the study of molecular-genetics effects in mice progeny after the chronic (dose rate -0.0017 Gy/day, total dose -0.36 Gy) and acute (dose range 1-3 Gy) exposure of y-radiation on the parents. For variability analysis was used technique of amplification DNA with series of random primers (RAPD-assay). Random primers were used as single primer and in mixture of ones. In this work were held the comparative analysis of the genetic radiosensitivity for stem spermatogonia and spermatides. After the acute exposure the dose dependence for levels of polymorphism of RAPD-markers were obtained. After the chronic irradiation, significant differences from control group were obtained only by use primers mixture M1. Comparative analysis of the genetic radiosensitivity of different stages of mice spermatogenesis are display is similar sensitivity of stem spermatogonia and spermatides after doses of irradiation 1 Gy and 3 Gy. Indicated that after irradiation by dose 2 Gy, spermatogonia are more sensitivity than spermatides.  相似文献

Abstract: Effects of gamma radiation on the fifth instar codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.), larvae were examined. Mature larvae were exposed to a series of gamma radiation doses ranging from 50 to 250 Gy and survival to pupae and adults was examined. The results showed that pupation and adult emergence decreased with increasing radiation dose. The results also showed that diapausing larvae were more sensitive to irradiation treatment than non-diapausing larvae, and females were more sensitive than males. A dose of 150 Gy reduced adult emergence to less than 2% in non-diapausing larvae, while a dose of 200 Gy completely prevented it. Furthermore, none of the emerging moths exposed to a dose of 150 Gy were females; at 100 Gy dose, the percentage of females was less than 14%. Irradiating larvae in apple fruit in a small-scale laboratory experiment produced similar results. Tests in which >100 000 larvae (in the fifth instar) were irradiated in an artificial rearing medium with a dose of 200 Gy resulted in no adult emergence. Similar results were also obtained when >32 000 larvae in the same stage were exposed in apple fruit to the same dose. The results indicate that the use of ionizing radiation as a quarantine treatment for codling moth infested fruits is feasible and requires a relatively low dose.  相似文献

BackgroundThe dosimetric characterization of volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT)-based total-body irradiation (TBI) in pediatric patients is evaluated.Materials and methodsTwenty-two patients between the ages of 2 and 12 years were enrolled for VMAT-based TBI from 2018 to 2020. Three isocenters were irradiated over three overlapping arcs. While prescribing 90% of the TBI dose to the planning treatment volume (PTV), two fractions (2 Gy each) were delivered each day; hence 12 Gy was delivered in six fractions. During treatment optimization, the mean lung and kidney doses were set not to exceed 7 Gy and 7.5 Gy, respectively. The maximum lens dose was also set to less than 4 Gy. Patient quality assurance was carried out by comparing treatment planning system doses to the 3-dimensional measured doses by the ArcCHECK® detector. The electronic portal imaging device (EPID) gamma indices were also obtained.ResultsThe average mean lung dose was 7.75 ± 0.18 Gy, mean kidney dose 7.63 ± 0.26 Gy, maximum lens dose 4.41 ± 0.39 Gy, and the mean PTV dose 12.69 ± 0.16 Gy. The average PTV heterogeneity index was 1.15 ± 0.03. Average differences in mean kidney dose, mean lung dose, and mean target dose were 2.79% ± 0.88, 0.84% ± 0.45 and 0.93% ± 0.47, respectively; when comparing planned and ArcCHECK® measured doses. Only grade 1–2 radiation toxicities were recorded, based on CTCAE v5.0 scoring criteria.ConclusionsVMAT-TBI was characterized with good PTV coverage, homogeneous dose distribution, planned and measured dose agreement, and low toxicity.  相似文献

The incidence of and mortality from cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) have been studied in a cohort of 12,210 workers first employed at one of the main plants of the Mayak nuclear facility during 1948-1958 and followed up to 31 December 2000. Information on external γ-ray doses is available for virtually all of these workers (99.9%); the mean total γ-ray dose (± SD) was 0.91 ± 0.95 Gy (99th percentile 3.9 Gy) for men and 0.65 ± 0.75 Gy (99th percentile 2.99 Gy) for women. In contrast, plutonium body burden was measured only for 30.0% of workers; among those monitored, the mean cumulative liver dose from plutonium α-particle exposure (± SD) was 0.40 ± 1.15 Gy (99th percentile 5.88 Gy) for men and 0.81 ± 4.60 Gy (99th percentile 15.95 Gy) for women. A total of 4418 cases of CVD, including 665 cases of stroke, and 753 deaths from CVD, including 404 deaths from stroke, were identified in the study cohort. Having adjusted for non-radiation factors, there were statistically significant increasing trends in CVD incidence but not mortality with both total external γ-ray dose and internal liver dose. Much of the evidence for increased incidence in relation to external dose arose for workers with cumulative doses above 1 Gy. Although the dose response is consistent with linearity, the statistical power to detect non-linearity at external doses below 1 Gy was low. CVD incidence was statistically significantly higher among workers with a plutonium liver dose above 0.1 Gy. There was a statistically significant increasing trend in incidence with increasing internal dose, even after adjusting for external dose, although the trend estimates differed between workers at different plants. The risk estimates for external radiation are generally compatible with those from other large occupational studies, although the incidence data point to higher risk estimates compared to those from the Japanese A-bomb survivors.  相似文献

Recent evidence argues against a high threshold dose for vision-impairing radiation-induced cataractogenesis. We conducted logistic regression analysis to estimate the dose response and used a likelihood profile procedure to determine the best-fitting threshold model among 3761 A-bomb survivors who underwent medical examinations during 2000-2002 for whom radiation dose estimates were available, including 479 postoperative cataract cases. The analyses indicated a statistically significant dose-response increase in the prevalence of postoperative cataracts [odds ratio (OR), 1.39; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.24-1.55] at 1 Gy, with no indication of upward curvature in the dose response. The dose response was suggestive when the restricted dose range of 0 to 1 Gy was examined. A nonsignificant dose threshold of 0.1 Gy (95% CI, <0-0.8) was found. The prevalence of postoperative cataracts in A-bomb survivors increased significantly with A-bomb radiation dose. The estimate (0.1 Gy) and upper bound (0.8 Gy) of the dose threshold for operative cataract prevalence was much lower than the threshold of 2-5 Gy usually assumed by the radiation protection community and was statistically compatible with no threshold at all.  相似文献

为探讨NSCLC脑部转移瘤调强放疗与适形放疗的剂量特点,本研究选取57例非小细胞肺癌脑转移瘤患者,其中单个脑转移灶患者5例,多个脑转移灶患者52例,分别设计全脑放疗+适形放疗与调强放疗计划,用均匀指数(HI)和适形指数(CI)评价靶区剂量,危及器官(OAR)剂量用近似最大剂量D2%(串联)和中位剂量D50%(并联)进行评价。研究发现,单个脑转移灶IMRT与WBRT+CRT比较中,CI为(PTV,(0.80±0.15) cGy,(0.34±0.19) cGy, p=0.00),HI为(PTV,(0.52±0.03) c Gy,(0.71±0.12) cGy, p=0.24),两者OARs剂量比较:脑干为((4 348±236) cGy,(4 593±149) cGy, p=0.01),脑垂体为((4 258±166) cGy,(4 581±123) cGy, p=0.02);在多个脑转移灶中,IMRT与WBRT+CRT比,较CI为(PTV,(0.59±0.33) cGy,(0.49±0.27) cGy, p=0.03),HI为(PTV,(0.93±0.01) cGy,(0.58±0.03) cGy, p=0.19),两者OARs剂量比较:脑干为((4 946±132) cGy,(4 843±196) cGy, p=0.51),脑垂体为((4 597±180) cGy,(4 705±149) cGy, p=0.70)。本研究的结果说明,单个脑转移灶患者,IMRT较WBRT+CRT有更好的靶区适形性、稍差的靶区异质性,脑干和垂体的IMRT剂量低于WBRT+CRT,而眼球、晶体的剂量两者差别不明显。多个脑转移灶患者,IMRT较WBRT+CRT有更好的靶区适形性、稍差的靶区异质性,而OARs剂量,IMRT较WBRT+CRT差异不明显。在临床实践过程中,应当根据患者不同的病灶情况选择合适的放疗方案,以获取更优的临床治疗效果。  相似文献

IntroductionThe stereotactic irradiation is a new approach for low-risk prostate cancer. The aim of the present study was to evaluate a schema of stereotactic irradiation of the prostate with an integrated-boost into the tumor.Material and methodsThe prostate and the tumor were delineated by a radiologist on CT/MRI fusion. A 9-coplanar fields IMRT plan was optimized with three different dose levels: 1) 5 × 6.5 Gy to the PTV1 (plan 1), 2) 5 × 8 Gy to the PTV1 (plan 2) and 3) 5 × 6.5 Gy on the PTV1 with 5 × 8 Gy on the PTV2 (plan 3). The maximum dose (MaxD), mean dose (MD) and doses received by 2% (D2), 5% (D5), 10% (D10) and 25% (D25) of the rectum and bladder walls were used to compare the 3 IMRT plans.ResultsA dose escalation to entire prostate from 6.5 Gy to 8 Gy increased the rectum MD, MaxD, D2, D5, D10 and D25 by 3.75 Gy, 8.42 Gy, 7.88 Gy, 7.36 Gy, 6.67 Gy and 5.54 Gy. Similar results were observed for the bladder with 1.72 Gy, 8.28 Gy, 7.01 Gy, 5.69 Gy, 4.36 Gy and 2.42 Gy for the same dosimetric parameters. An integrated SBRT boost only to PTV2 reduced by about 50% the dose difference for rectum and bladder compared to a homogenous prostate dose escalation. Thereby, the MD, D2, D5, D10 and D25 for rectum were increased by 1.51 Gy, 4.24 Gy, 3.08 Gy, 2.84 Gy and 2.37 Gy in plan 3 compared to plan 1.ConclusionsThe present planning study of an integrated SBRT boost limits the doses received by the rectum and bladder if compared to a whole prostate dose escalation for SBRT approach.  相似文献

The effects of irradiation on egg, larval, and pupal development, and adult reproduction in Mexican leafroller, Amorbia emigratella Busck (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), were examined. Eggs, neonates, early instars, late instars, early pupae, and late pupae were irradiated at target doses of 60, 90, 120, or 150 Gy, or they were left untreated as controls in replicated factorial experiments. Survival to the adult stage was recorded. Tolerance to radiation increased with increasing age and developmental stage. A radiation dose of 90 Gy applied to neonates and early instars prevented adult emergence. A dose of 150 Gy was not sufficient to prevent adult emergence in late instars or pupae. The effect of irradiation on sterility was examined in late pupae and adult moths. For progeny produced by insects treated as late pupae, a total of three out of 3,130 eggs hatched at 90 Gy, 0 out of 2,900 eggs hatched at 120 Gy, and 0 out of 1,700 eggs hatched at 150 Gy. From regression analysis, the dose predicted to prevent egg hatch from the progeny of irradiated late pupae was 120 Gy, with a 95% confidence interval of 101-149 Gy. The late pupa is the most radiotolerant stage likely to occur with exported commodities; therefore, a minimum absorbed radiation dose of 149 Gy (nominally 150 Gy) has potential as a quarantine treatment. Reciprocal crosses between irradiated and unirradiated moths demonstrated that males were more radiotolerant than females. Irradiation of female moths at a target dose of 90 Gy before pairing and mating with irradiated or unirradiated males resulted in no viable eggs, whereas irradiated males paired with unirradiated females produced viable eggs at 90 and 150 Gy.  相似文献

To investigate the effects of ionizing radiation on an isolated neuronal network without complicating systemic factors, slices of hippocampus from the guinea pig were isolated and studied in vitro. Slices were irradiated with a 60Co source and compared to paired, sham-irradiated controls. Electrophysiological activity in the CA 1 population of pyramidal cells was evoked by stimulation of the stratum radiatum. Analysis of the somatic and dendritic responses suggested sites of radiation damage. Orthodromically evoked activity was significantly decreased in slices receiving greater than 75 Gy gamma radiation. The effects were dose and dose-rate dependent. At 20 Gy/min, doses of 50 Gy and greater produced synaptic impairment while doses of 75 Gy and greater also produced postsynaptic damage (i.e., the ability of the synaptic response to generate an action potential). A lower dose rate, 5 Gy/min, reduced the sensitivity of synaptic damage to radiation exposure; synaptic impairment required a dose of 100 Gy or greater at the lower dose rate. In contrast, postsynaptic damage was not sensitive to dose rate. This study demonstrates that ionizing radiation can directly affect the integrated functional activity of neurons.  相似文献

Studies were undertaken to determine whether irradiation treatment at 250 Gy, an accepted treatment for disinfestation of fruit flies in spindaceous fruits from Hawaii, would also disinfest fruit of two species of Cryptophlebia. Cryptophlebia illepida (Butler) was determined to be more tolerant of irradiation than Cryptophlebia ombrodelta (Lower); therefore, C. illepida was the focus for detailed tests. Using the criterion of success in developing to the adult stage, the pattern of tolerance to irradiation in C. illepida was generally eggs < early instars < late instars < pupae. The most tolerant stage potentially occurring in harvested fruits was late (fourth and fifth) instars. Development to adult was reduced slightly in late instars receiving an irradiation dose of 62.5 Gy, whereas development to adult was dramatically reduced in late instars receiving irradiation doses > or = 125 Gy. No C. illepida larvae receiving an irradiation dose > or = 125 Gy emerged as adults and produced viable eggs, indicating sterility can be achieved at doses well below 250 Gy. In large scale tests, when 11,256 late instars were irradiated with a target dose of 250 Gy, 951 pupated (8.4%) and none eclosed as adults. Within the pupal stage, tolerance increased with age; 7- to 8-d-old pupae (the oldest pupae tested) treated with an irradiation dose of 125 Gy produced viable offspring, whereas those treated with a dose of 250 Gy produced no viable offspring. Irradiation of adults with a target dose of 250 Gy before pairing and mating resulted in no viable eggs. Irradiation of actively ovipositing adult females resulted in no subsequent viable eggs. Therefore, the irradiation quarantine treatment of a minimum absorbed dose of 250 Gy approved for Hawaii's fruits will effectively disinfest fruits of any Cryptophlebia in addition to fruit flies.  相似文献

The adaptive response is an important phenomenon in radiobiology. A study of the conditions essential for the induction of an adaptive response is of critical importance to understanding the novel biological defense mechanisms against the hazardous effects of radiation. In our previous studies, the specific dose and timing of radiation for induction of an adaptive response were studied in ICR mouse fetuses. We found that exposure of the fetuses on embryonic day 11 to a priming dose of 0.3 Gy significantly suppressed prenatal death and malformation induced by a challenging dose of radiation on embryonic day 12. Since a significant dose-rate effect has been observed in a variety of radiobiological phenomena, the effect of dose rate on the effectiveness of induction of an adaptive response by a priming dose of 0.3 Gy administered to fetuses on embryonic day 11 was investigated over the range from 0.06 to 5.0 Gy/min. The occurrence of apoptosis in limb buds, incidences of prenatal death and digital defects, and postnatal mortality induced by a challenging dose of 3.5 Gy given at 1.8 Gy/min to the fetuses on embryonic day 12 were the biological end points examined. Unexpectedly, effective induction of an adaptive response was observed within two dose-rate ranges for the same dose of priming radiation, from 0.18 to 0.98 Gy/ min and from 3.5 to 4.6 Gy/min, for reduction of the detrimental effect induced by a challenging dose of 3.5 Gy. In contrast, when the priming irradiation was delivered at a dose rate outside these two ranges, no protective effect was observed, and at some dose rates elevation of detrimental effects was observed. In general, neither a normal nor a reverse dose- rate effect was found in the dose-rate range tested. These results clearly indicated that the dose rate at which the priming irradiation was delivered played a crucial role in the induction of an adaptive response. This paper provides the first evidence for the existence of two dose-rate ranges for the same dose of priming radiation to successfully induce an adaptive response in mouse fetuses.  相似文献

Electron beam irradiation has been evaluated for the survival and reproduction of Liposcelis paeta Pearman (Psocoptera: Liposcelididae). All effects increased with increasing doses from 50 to 1000 Gy when the electron energy was 2 MeV. Eggs were unable to develop into adults following a dose of 100 Gy. Complete (100%) mortality was achieved about 5 weeks after adult emergence from nymphs irradiated at 300 Gy, whereas 100% mortality of adults was achieved 9 weeks after irradiation at 300 Gy. The fecundity was greatly reduced to 1.82% of that of control when L. paeta adults were irradiated at 250 Gy. A dose of 300 Gy caused complete reproductive sterility in adults. These results suggest that the most susceptible stage was the egg stage, then nymph and adult stages. A dose of 300 Gy is suggested for quarantine treatment of commodities infested by L. paeta.  相似文献
