Types of the daily course of transpiration rate were studied in two-year old seedlings ofPinus silvestris L.,Picea excelsa L.,Larix decidua L.,Tilia cordata Mill., andAlnus glu-tinosa (L.) Gaertn. The curves illustrating the daily development of transpiration rate (Figs. 3 - 8) may be grouped in two types, showing a midday maximum (one-peak curves) and a midday depression (two-peak curves). Unlike herbaceous plants, the seedlings ofPinus silvestris L. were found to show, during the night-time, lower but not negligible values for the rate of transpiration (see Figs. 3 and 8). The following times are considered most suitable in determining the rate of transpiration for both herbs and woody species during the daylight: 09.0, 12.0, 14.0, and 17.0 hours. For the forest species seedlings further times are suitable for the night-time, as follows: 23.0, 01.0, and 06.0 hours. The rate of transpiration in the seedlings of Pinus silvestris attained very low levels at 3 and between 6 and 8 a.m. and between 6 and 8 p.m. (see Figs 3 and 8).  相似文献

In consideration of their origin the adaptive strategies of the evergreen species of the Mediterranean maquis were analysed. Rosmarinus officinalis L., Erica arborea L., and Erica multiflora L. had the lowest net photosynthetic rate (PN) in the favourable period [7.8±0.6 μmol(CO2) m?2s?1, mean value], the highest PN decrease (on an average 86 % of the maximum) but the highest recovery capacity (>70 % of the maximum) at the first rainfall in September. Cistus incanus L. and Arbutus unedo L. had the highest PN during the favourable period [15.5±5.2 μmol(CO2) m?2s?1, mean value], 79 % decrease during drought, and a lower recovery capacity (on an average 54 %). Quercus ilex L., Phillyrea latifolia L., and Pistacia lentiscus L. had an intermediate PN in the favourable period [9.2±1.3 μmol(CO2) m?2s?1, mean value], a lower reduction during drought (on an average 63 %), and a range from 62 % (Q. ilex and P. latifolia) to 39 % (P. lentiscus) of recovery capacity. The Mediterranean species had higher decrease in PN and stomatal conductance during drought and a higher recovery capacity than the pre-Mediterranean species. Among the pre-Mediterranean species, P. latifoliahad the best adaptation to long drought periods also by its higher leaf mass per area (LMA) which lowered leaf temperature thus decreasing transpiration rate during drought. Moreover, its leaf longevity determined a more stable leaf biomass during the year. Among the Mediteranean species, R. officinalis was the best adapted species to short drought periods by its ability to rapidly recover. Nevertheless, R. officinalis had the lowest tolerance to high temperatures by its PN dropping below half its maximum value when leaf temperature was over 33.6°C. R. officinalismay be used as a bioindicator species of global change.  相似文献

This study measured copper and zinc concentrations in medicinal herbs and soil sampled from three agricultural fields with ponds from mid-June till the end of July 2014. Six herb species were tested: Potentilla anserina L., Mentha arvensis, Achillea millefolium L., Comarum palustre L., Lysimachia vulgaris L., and Lycopus europaeus L. Two of the ponds were in the borough of Jab?onna Lacka and one in the borough of Sabnie. The fields around each pond were divided into transects with three concentric soil moisture sections, each with different soil water contents. Soil and plant samples were taken from each transect to determine the concentrations of copper and zinc by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. Despite the use of fertilizers and pesticides in the fields, copper and zinc had not polluted the soil or the plants growing in the soil depressions. Out of the six plants tested, only C. palustre had an increased concentration of zinc. Different farming methods used on the fields affected the concentrations of copper and zinc in the soil of the different depressions. The highest concentrations of these metals were found in the soil of the periodically wet sections.  相似文献

An analysis of indicator values of four Saussurea DC. species, S. baicalensis (Adams) B. L. Rob., S. frolowii Ledeb., S. salicifolia (L.) DC., and S. schanginiana (Wydl.) Fisch. ex Serg., have been carried out by the method of indicator scales of soil moisture and nutrient availability and salinity in more than 1600 relevés. The size of their ecological ranges and the values of their competitiveness in phytocenoses are determined. As a result of a comparison of the locality of local populations within the ecological range and their occurrence, the vulnerability of S. baicalensis, S. frolowii, S. salicifolia, and S. schanginiana in the Kuznetsk Alatau is evaluated. The types of rarity for these species in the Kuznetsk Alatau are determined.  相似文献

Dual metabolite, i.e., ginsenoside and anthocyanin, co-accumulating cell suspensions of Panax sikkimensis were subjected to elicitation with culture filtrates of Serratia marcescens (SD 21), Bacillus subtilis (FL11), Trichoderma atroviridae (TA), and T. harzianum (TH) at 1.25% and 2.5% v/v for 1- and 3-week duration. The fungal-derived elicitors (TA and TH) did not significantly affect biomass accumulation; however, bacterial elicitors (SD 21 and FL11), especially SD 21, led to comparable loss in biomass growth. In terms of ginsenoside content, differential responses were observed. A maximum of 3.2-fold increase (222.2 mg/L) in total ginsenoside content was observed with the use of 2.5% v/v TH culture filtrate for 1 week. Similar ginsenoside accumulation was observed with the use of 1-week treatment with 2.5% v/v SD 21 culture filtrate (189.3 mg/L) with a 10-fold increase in intracellular Rg2 biosynthesis (31 mg/L). Real-time PCR analysis of key ginsenoside biosynthesis genes, i.e., FPS, SQS, DDS, PPDS, and PPTS, revealed prominent upregulation of particularly PPTS expression (20–23-fold), accounting for the observed enhancement in protopanaxatriol ginsenosides. However, none of the elicitors led to successful enhancement in in vitro anthocyanin accumulation as compared to control values.  相似文献

Extensive research has found that nighttime transpiration (E n) is positively correlated to the vapour pressure deficit (VPD), that suggested E n was highest during the night under high temperatures and low humidity along with high soil water availability, typically for the riparian forest in the extreme arid region of China. This study used the heat ratio method to measure sap velocity (V s) for mature and saplings Populus euphratica Oliv., and then E n was conservatively calculated as total nocturnal sap flow (F s, the product of V s and sapwood area A s) between 01:00 to 06:00. A gas exchange system was used to measure the leaf transpiration rate (T r) and stomatal conductance (g s) of saplings. For mature trees, nighttime V s was extensive and logarithmic correlated to VPD (similar to daytime). For saplings, g s and T r was extensive in different months, and also a strong logarithmic relationship was found between V s and VPD for both daytime and nighttime periods. Both of stem sap flow and leaf gas exchange suggusted the occurrence of E n, whether mature or sapling trees. E n contribution to daily transpiration (E d) was high just as expected for P. euphratica, which was confirmed by proportional E n to E d (E n/E d) means taken in 2012 (24.99%) and 2013 (34.08%). Compared to mature trees, E n/E d of saplings in 2013 was lower with means of 12.06%, that supported further by the shorter duration times and less T r,n (16.64%) and g s,n (26.45%) of leaf, suggesting that E n magnitude is associated to individual the tree size, that effect to stored water of individual trees, although this hypothesis requires further research.  相似文献

Data on habitats, food plants of larvae and adults, feeding, mating, oviposition, larval and pupal development, natural enemies, and distribution of seven weevil species (Lixus canescens F.-W., L. iridis Ol., L. myagri Ol., L. punctirostris Boh., L. subtilis Boh., L. incanescens Boh., and L. brevipes Bris.) are given. New host plants of L. canescens and L. iridis are revealed. Gall induction by L. brevipes is reported for the first time. Distribution of all the species in Ukraine and Russia (the latter based on the literature) are given in more detail. The pigment composition of phytoperiphyton algocenoses on stones and macrophytes (Potamogeton lucens L., P. perfoliatus L., P. gramineus L., P. pectinatus L., Mirophyllum spicatum, Petasites hybridus (L.) Gaertn., Mey. et Sxherb, Nuphar lutea L., and Alisma plantago-aquatica L.) in the submontane Sylva River (Middle Ural) is considered based on the surveys of 2000–2012. The wide variability in the content of plant pigments in phytoperiphyton depends on the season and type of substrate. The maximum values similar for all substrates are observed at the end of summer. The concentrations of Chl a increase during warm low-water years. Chlorophyll a prevails among green pigments in periphyton; the relative concentration of other pigments is lower. The concentration of plant carotenoids in epiphyton is slightly higher compared to epilithon and is comparable to the Chl a level. The trophic state index of the Sylva River may be determined as mesotrophic or weakly eutrophic when the Chl a concentration in phytoperiphyton is used as a marker.  相似文献

The composition of protein complexes in seeds was studied in plants of the subfamily Scilloideae. Seed protein contents were compared in 59 species of 12 genera: Scilla L., Hyacinthus L., Bellevalia Lapeyr., Chionodoxa Boiss, Puschkinia Adam., Muscari Mill., Ornithogalum L., Eucomis L’Herit, Galtonia Desne, Velthemia Gleditsch., Hyacinthoides Linn., and Hyacinthella Schur. The results confirmed the heterogeneity of the subfamily: its constituent genera proved to differ in the composition of protein complexes and in the coefficient of evolutionary advancement. The group of salt-soluble proteins dominated by albumins prevailed in seeds of all species studied.  相似文献

Tolerance to water deficit in diploid (2x) and doubled diploid (4x) ‘Carrizo citrange’ (Citrus sinensis [L.] Osbeck × Poncirus trifoliata [L.] Raf) was investigated. Water deficit was applied for 4 weeks. Physiological parameters, including stomatal conductance (g s), photosynthesis (A), transpiration (E), leaf and soil water potentials (Ψ leaf; Ψ soil), and pot water loss, were monitored throughout the stress. Moreover, ABA, H2O2 contents, and the expression of genes involved in ABA biosynthesis (NCED3), regulation of abscisic acid signaling (ABI1), and coding for a catalase enzyme (CAT2) known to favor H2O2 scavenging were monitored. During the experiment g s, A, and E values were most of the time higher in 2x compared to 4x. During the water deficit period, pot water loss decreased faster in 2x compared to 4x, leading to a faster decrease in all physiological parameters in 2x. The higher sensitivity of 2x compared to 4x was correlated with more numerous thinner roots, higher leaf ABA and H2O2 contents, and with the lower leaf water potential. ABI1 and NCED3 expression was not strictly correlated with the ABA content. However, the higher CAT2 expression in 4x was correlated with the lower leaf H2O2 contents. Therefore, the better tolerance observed in 4x ‘Carrizo citrange’ compared to 2x was associated with more limited water consumption and better and H2O2 scavenging.  相似文献

The numbers of microscopic fungi isolated from soil samples after anaerobic incubation varied from tens to several hundreds of CFU per one gram of soil; a total of 30 species was found. This group is composed primarily of mitotic fungi of the ascomycete affinity belonging to the orders Hypocreales (Fusarium solani, F. oxysporum, Fusarium sp., Clonostachys grammicospora, C. rosea, Acremonium sp., Gliocladium penicilloides, Trichoderma aureoviride, T. harzianum, T. polysporum, T. viride, T. koningii, Lecanicillum lecanii, and Tolypocladium inflatum) and Eurotiales (Aspergillus terreus, A. niger, and Paecilomyces lilacimus), as well as to the phylum Zygomycota, to the order Mucorales (Actinomucor elegans, Absidia glauca, Mucor circinelloides, M. hiemalis, M. racemosus, Mucor sp., Rhizopus oryzae, Zygorrhynchus moelleri, Z. heterogamus, and Umbelopsis isabellina) and the order Mortierellales (Mortierella sp.). As much as 10–30% of the total amount of fungal mycelium remains viable for a long time (one month) under anaerobic conditions.  相似文献

A detailed characteristic of the beetle fauna associated with Fomitopsis pinicola (Sw.: Fr.) Karst. (Basidiomycetes, Aphyllophorales) in the Urals and Transurals is given. Thirty species from 14 families have been revealed, the commonest species including Eridaulus jacquemarti Mel., Ennearthron laricinum (Mel.) (Ciidae), Dorcatoma dresdensis Hbst., D. lomnickii Rtt., D. punctulata Muls. (Anobiidae), Diaperis boleti (L.) (Tenebrionidae), Scaphisoma agaricinum (L.), S. inopinatum Löbl, S. subalpinum Rtt. (Scaphidiidae), Ostoma ferruginea (L.), and Peltis grossa (L.) (Peltidae). The main trends in the ecological and trophic specialization of mycetophilous beetles are discussed, and some regularities of formation of mycetophilous complexes at different stages of the trees fungi fruit body development are revealed.  相似文献

Vetiver grass [Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash] displays comprehensive abiotic stress tolerance closely related to fine maintenance of plant water relation mediated by plasma membrane intrinsic proteins (PIPs). Two open reading frame sequences of PIPs (867 and 873 bp) were cloned from vetiver grass and named as VzPIP1;1 and VzPIP2;1, respectively. Expression of green fluorescent protein revealed only subcellular localization of VzPIP2;1 in the plasma membrane. Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated transgenic (VzPIP2;1) soybean plants had a higher water content in above-ground parts under sufficient water supply through enhancing transpiration as compared to the non-transgenic plants but displayed a more severe drought injury because of a lower photosynthesis and a higher transpiration rate. However, A. rhizogenes mediated transgenic soybean plants kept a higher water content in above-ground parts by improving root water transport and kept a more effective photosynthesis under normal and drought conditions.  相似文献

Trees possess myriad adaptations for coping with drought stress, but the extent to which their drought responses are influenced by interactions with soil microbes is poorly understood. To explore the role of microbes in mediating tree responses to drought stress, we exposed saplings of three species (Acer saccharum, Liriodendron tulipifera, and Quercus alba) to a four week experimental drought in mesocosms. Half of the pots were inoculated with a live soil slurry (i.e., a microbial inoculum derived from soils beneath the canopies of mature A. saccharum, L. tulipifera or Q. alba stands), while the other half of the pots received a sterile soil slurry. Soil microbes ameliorated drought stress in L. tulipifera by minimizing reductions in leaf water potential and by reducing photosynthetic declines. In A. saccharum, soil microbes reduced drought stress by lessening declines in leaf water potential, though these changes did not buffer the trees from declining photosynthetic rates. In Q. alba, soil microbes had no effects on leaf physiological parameters during drought stress. In all species, microbes had no significant effects on dynamic C allocation during drought stress, suggesting that microbial effects on plant physiology were unrelated to source–sink dynamics. Collectively, our results suggest that soil microbes have the potential to alter key parameters that are used to diagnose drought sensitivity (i.e., isohydry or anisohydry). To the extent that our results reflect dynamics occurring in forests, a revised perspective on plant hydraulic strategies that considers root-microbe interactions may lead to improved predictions of forest vulnerability to drought.  相似文献

Four species of the heteropteran family Anthocoridae, Orius niger Wolff., O. majusculus Reut., O. minutus L., and Anthocoris confusus Reut., feeding on grass aphids on grains and bird cherry occur in the foreststeppe zone of Western Siberia. Orius niger and O. majusculus possess the greatest population numbers, with 98% of all the bugs collected in 1987 and 1988 belonging to these species. In 1998–2000, O. niger was predominant (97–100%). Data on the bionomics, seasonal abundance, feeding intensity, and role of anthocorids in the control of aphids are reported. Density of Orius bugs on wheat has been shown to be independent of the preceding culture. Permanent wheat is a preferable habitat of the predatory anthocorids. Mass reproduction of Orius bugs on pea-oat and alfalfa has been recorded.  相似文献

Bacterial community and diversity in a long-term petroleum-contaminated soil of an oilfield were characterized using 16S rRNA gene-based Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing. Results indicated that Proteobacteria (49.11%) and Actinobacteria (24.24%) were the most dominant phyla, and the most abundant genera were Pseudoxanthomonas (8.47%), Luteimonas (3.64%), Alkanindiges (9.76%), Acinetobacter (5.26%) and Agromyces (8.56%) in the soil. Meanwhile a series of cultivations were carried out for isolation of alkane degraders from petroleum-contaminated soil with gellan gum and agar as gelling agents. And the isolates were classified by their 16S rRNA genes. Nine of the isolates including Enterobacter, Pseudomonas,Acinetobacter, Rhizobium, Bacillus, Sphingomonas, Paenibacillus, Variovorax and Rhodococcus showed strong biodegradability of alkane mixture (C9–C30) in a wide range of chain-length, which could be potentially applied in enhancement of bioremediation.  相似文献
