The karyotypes, sex chromosome systems, and male meiotic patterns in 13 species belonging to 10 genera of the family Tingidae were studied. Data on eleven species, one subgenus, and 5 genera are presented for the first time, and the chromosome formula of Acalypta parvula is revised. Karyotypes of all species included six pairs of autosomes. Most of the species displayed an XY sex chromosome system, in four species, belonging to genera of Acalypta and Kalama, the X0 system was found. Male meiosis is chiasmatic for autosomes. Sex chromosomes are achiasmatic and undergo pre-reductional meiosis. Using C-banding technique, for the first time constitutive heterochromatin was localized on chromosomes in all the species studied. The heterochromatin was found either in telomeres or in some species in interstitial locations, evidencing that a quite substantial redistribution of chromosome material within chromosomes might occur without fragmentations or fusions. In two species, a supernumerary (B) chromosome was found. In addition, the male reproductive system of four species was examined and the number of testicular follicles was determined as two per testis.  相似文献

C-banding was carried out on Belostoma elegans (2n=26+X1X2Y) (), B. micantulum (2n=14+XY) () and B. oxyurum (2n=6+XY) () (Belostomatidae, Heteroptera). The C-bands always have a telomeric localization and no interstitial bands were detected. An inverse relationship between chromosome size and chromosome number exists, and besides, an inverse relationship between chromosome size and the size of the C-bands was observed. The DNA content was determined in all three species. B. elegans has a C content of 1.55±0.06 pg, B. micantulum has 0.88±0.04 pg and B. oxyurum had 0.53±0.04 pg.Considering the male meiotic characteristics, the chromosome complement and the results of C-banding and DNA content, the karyotype of B. oxyurum probably originated through autosomal fusions. The karyotype of B. micantulum and B. elegans could have originated through autosomal fusions or fragmentations respectively; with the information available up to now it is not possible to discard any of the two pathways.  相似文献

The chromosomes of Australotettix montanus Richards and A. carraiensis Richards have been studied. Both species share the following characteristics: the chromosome number is 2n=45 ♂-46 ♀ the sex mechanism is of the XO ♂-XX ♀ type with the X submetacentric; the X chromosome as well as two bivalents (H1 and H2) are heterochromatic during first prophase.
The species differ in: (a) the pattern of distribution of heterochromatic blocks in H1; (b) the H1 pair consists of two metacentric autosomes in A. carraiensis while these chromosomes are acrocentric in A. montanus ; (c) a medium-sized pair of autosomes is formed by subacrocentric elements in A. carraiensis while they are acrocentric in A. montanus.
The karyotypes of both species do not differ basically from that which is typical for the Macropathinae.  相似文献

As an extension of the ongoing cytogenetic studies of the bug family Nabidae (Heteroptera: Cimicomorpha), the first evidence for the tribe Arachnocorini (the subfamily Nabinae), with reference to the Trinidad endemic, Arachnocoris trinitatus Bergroth, is provided. This is an attempt to gain a better insight into the evolution, systematics and within-family relationships of the family Nabidae. The studies were conducted using a number of cytogenetic techniques. The male karyotype (chromosome number and size; sex chromosome system; NOR location; C-heterochromatin amount, distribution and characterization in terms of the presence of AT-rich and GC-rich DNA), and male meiosis with particular emphasis on the behavior of the sex chromosomes in metaphase II are described. Also investigated are the male and female internal reproductive organs with special reference to the number of follicles in a testis and the number of ovarioles in an ovary. A. trinitatus was found to display a number of characters differentiating it from all hitherto studied nabid species placed in the tribe Nabini of the subfamily Nabinae, and in the tribe Prostemmatini of the subfamily Prostemmatinae. Among these characters are chromosome number 2n = 12 (10 + XY), the lowest within the family, nucleolus organizer regions (NORs) situated on the autosomes rather than on the sex chromosomes as is the case in other nabid species, and testes composed of 3 follicles but not of 7 as in other nabids. All the data obtained suggest many transformations during the evolution ofA. trinitatus.  相似文献

Cytotaxonomy of the triatominae (Reduviidae: Hemiptera)   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The chromosome number and meiotic cycle of 20 species of Triatominae have been investigated. In the male, there are five types of chromosome complement: 20+XY, 20+X1X2Y, 20+X1X2X3Y, 18+XY and 22+XY.The cytological data suggest that the type number for the subfamily is 22 (20+XY). In the hybrids: Triatoma barberi () and T. protracta (), anomalous behavior of certain chromosomes has been observed. Phylogenetic relationships based on chromosome evidence in the subfamily have been discussed. It is suggested that fragmentation is the major factor for chromosome evolution in the group.  相似文献

Chromosome numbers and sex chromosome systems of 154 previously unstudied Bembidion species are described. The genus is nearly uniform: males of 176 of 205 species are 2n=22+XY. Karyotypes are presented for 30 species. There is some variation among species in size of Y and size of autosomes. Within most species autosomes are subequal in size, and metacentric or submetacentric. Subterminal secondary constrictions and B chromosomes are reported from several species. The supertribe Trechitae (Zolini + Trechini + Pogonini + Bembidiini) is hypothesized to be primitively male 2n=22+X or 24+X, and the ancestral Bembidion stock 2n=22+XY. Conclusions are based on the most parsimonious hypothesis of ancestral state given an inferred phylogeny of the group, rather than the widespread-is-primitive arguments used previously. Evolution within Bembidion away from the presumably-primitive 2n=22+XY is discussed. Six lineages have lost Y chromosomes; seven have undergone changes in autosome number. It is not known why such changes are so scarce, nor what particular rearrangements led to the observed diversity. Nonetheless, the cytogenetic data can be used to infer a monophyletic origin of groups possessing derived chromosome numbers or sex chromosomes, and to help resolve species limits.  相似文献

Physidae, a world-wide family of freshwater snails with about 80 species, are reclassified by progressive characters of the penial complex (the terminal male reproductive system): form and composition of penial sheath and preputium, proportions and structure of penis, presence or absence of penial stylet, site of pore of penial canal, and number and insertions of penial retractor muscles. Observation of these characters, many not recognized previously, has been possible only by the technique used in anesthetizing, fixing, and preserving. These progressive characters are the principal basis of 23 genera, four grades and four clades within the family. The two established subfamilies are divided into seven new tribes including 11 new genera, with diagnoses and lists of species referred to each. Proposed as new are: in Aplexinae, Austrinautini, with Austrinauta g.n. and Caribnautu harryi g.n., nom.nov.; Aplexini; Amecanautini with Amecanauta jaliscoensis g.n., sp.n., Mexinauta g.n., and Mayabina g.n., with M. petenensis, polita, sanctijohannis, tempisquensis spp.nn., Tropinauta sinusdulcensis g.n., sp.n.; and Stenophysini, with Stenophysa spathidophallus sp.n.; in Physinae, Haitiini, with Haitia moreleti sp.n.; Physini, with Laurentiphysa chippevarum g.n., sp.n., Physa mirollii nom.nou.; and Physellini, with Chiapaphysa g.n., and C. grijalvae, C. pacifica spp.nn., Utahphysa g.n., Archiphysa g.n., with A. ashmuni, A. sonomae spp.nn., Physella hemphilli sp.n., and Ultraphysella sinaloae g.n., sp.n. The simplest reproductive system is found in Austrinauta of the Aplexinae; its penial complex approaches that in the related family Lymnaeidae. Within Physinae a close approximation is found in Haitia. By these two genera the two subfamilies are drawn close together. Four grades of progressive complexity are recognized: (I) penial sheath entirely muscular; (II) penial sheath with both glandular and muscular tissue; (III) penis with penial stylet or other specialization of the tip of the penis; and (IV) pore of penial canal lateral rather than terminal as in the lower grades. In both subfamilies there are clades with glandular tissue in the penial sheath, a penial sheath subdivided into two parts, and tip of penis specialized in various ways. These clades are formalized as new tribes. Of 23 genera of Physidae, 17 occur in Pacific drainages of North and Central America, eight of these restricted to the region. Concentration of primitive genera along the Pacific coast from Mexico to Costa Rica conforms to previous observations that primitive pulmonate families are concentrated within, or along the continental margins of, the Pacific Ocean. An ancestral origin of Physidae along an ancient eastern Pacific coast is probable. From this region the several lineages have spread north, south and east in the Americas, and through Siberia to Europe. Although Physinae have fewer genera than Aplexinae (11 v. 12), they have more species (47 v. 34). Greater land area in the temperate zone has provided more opportunity for speciation of Physinae, in contrast to the generally tropical and warm-temperate range of Aplexinae. Furthermore, 10 species of Physinae are localized in individual lakes, whereas Aplexinae are not lake-dwellers. Both well-developed egg strings and capsular strings are found in the spawn of Sibirenauta elongatus. These structures have been known in Lymnaeidae, but not hitherto in Physidae; they are a link with some marine groups, such as Siphonariidae. Spiral color bands and white streaks in the shell of Mexinauta recall those in Lancidae (Lymnaeacea), whereas the radula of Physidae is like that of Chilinidae. Physidae thus show affinities to various basal stocks of aquatic pulmonates; no clear-cut sister-group can be recognized. Most species have a restricted range; out of 55 with sufficiently detailed information for analysis, 25 are limited to a single 1 degrees x 1 degrees quadrangle. Only a few species are widespread, on one or even two continents. Accordingly, more species of Physidae are threatened by habitat destruction than in other families of Hygrophila with generally wider distributions. Other features are a key to genera; catalog of more than 430 names applied to living Physidae, with original reference, type locality, and location of type specimens; summary of museums with types; and glossary.  相似文献

Isthmosacanthus fitzroyensis n. g., n. sp. is described from two species of protandrous fish, Eleutheronema tetradactylum (Shaw) and Polydactylus macrochir (Günther), from the waters around the coast of northern Australian. The new species can be distinguished from all others by the following combination of characters: proboscis shape and armature (22 rows of 13-14 hooks), short neck, trunk spined anteriorly and having two swellings (one bulbous) with a narrow isthmus in between, long tubular lemnisci and six tubular cement glands. Although I. fitzroyensis has been confused with a species of Pomphorhynchus Monticelli, 1905 in the literature, it can be distinguished from all pomphorhynchids, including species of Longicollum Yamaguti, 1935 and Pyriproboscis Amin, Abdullah & Mhaisen, 2003, by the suite of characters listed above. The placement of the species of Pyriproboscis in the Pomphorhynchidae Yamaguti, 1939 is problematical, because it has a short neck, two distinct hook types comprising the proboscis armature and only two rather than six cement glands. A new family, the Isthmosacanthidae n. fam., is erected to contain Isthmosacanthus together with Gorgorhynchoides Cable & Linderoth, 1963 and Golvanorhynchus Noronha, Fabio & Pinto, 1978, genera having an elongate to clavate proboscis, anterior trunk spines, elongate lemnisci, and six tubular cement glands. The validity of this determination, based on the importance of cement gland number and phylogenetic analysis, is argued.  相似文献

Meiotic karyotypes were studied in males of Craspedolepta sonchi (Foerster, 1848), Diaphorina chobauti Puton, 1898, D. lamproptera Burckhardt, 1981, Psylla hartigii Flor, 1861, Cacopsylla palmeni (Loew, 1878), C. hippophaes (Foerster, 1848), C. melanoneura (Foerster, 1868), C. pyricola (Foerster 1848), C. moscovita (Andrianova, 1848), Bactericera salicivora (Reuter, 1876), Trioza abdominalis Flor, 1861, T. lauri = Lauritrioza alacris (Flor, 1861). Karyotypes were 2n = 25 (24 + XO) in all species except B. salicivora with 2n = 26 (24 + neo-XY). Testes consisted of two follicles each in all species but P. hartigii with four-follicular testes in males. The discussion covers the problems of chromosome numbers, sex-determining chromosome systems, B-chromosomes, patterns of C-banding, testis structure, and spermatid development in Psylloidea.  相似文献

Meiotic karyotypes in males of 16 species (assigned to 9 genera and 7 subfamilies) ofthe family Psyllidae and 3 species (assigned to 3 genera of the subfamily Triozinae) of the family Triozidae are described for the first time. The first data on the genus Ligustrinia are presented. All the species were shown to exhibit the modal karyotype for psyllids, 2n = 24 + X, except Bactericera nigricornis and Arytainilla spartiophila, in which 2n = 24 + XY and 2n = 22 + X were found, respectively. The karyotype of Ctenarytaina eucalypti (Psyllidae, Spondyliaspidinae) was reinvestigated, and the karyotype 2n = 10 + X, characteristic of Spondyliaspidinae, was revealed. The karyotypes ofStrophingia fallax, S. arborea, and Craspedolepta topicalis were studied using the C-banding technique.  相似文献

Two species of Sarcandra and nine of Chloranthus in the Chloranthaceae from China were investigated cytologically. The basic chromosome number of both genera is x=15. In Sarandra the two species studied are diploid, and in Chloranthus seven species are diploid, one tetraploid ( C. fortune;, 2n = 60) and one hexaploid (C. henryi, 2n = 90). Chromosomes are medium-small to small, ranging in length from c . 6.0 μm to 1.O μ m. The katyotype formulas are as follow: S. glabra 2 n= 10m+ 10sm + 8st + 2stc; & hainanensvs 2n = 8m+ 12sm + 8st+2stsat; C. spicatus 2n=12m+8sm + 6st + 4stsat; C. erectus 2n= 12m + 4sm+ 12st + 2stsat; C. serratus 2n=16m + 12sm + 2stsat; C. sessilifolius 2n= 14m + 8sm + 6st+2stsat; C. nervvosus 2n = 8m + 4sm + 6st + 2stsat; C. angustfolius 2n = 20m + 6sm + 2smsat+ 2stsat; C. japonicus 2n = 18m + 8sm + 4stsat; C. fortunei 2n= 48m+4sm + 4st + 4stsat. Karyotype asymmetries are of type 3B in C. erectus and C. nervosus and 2B in the other species. Based on these results, combined with the evidence from comparative morphology, anatomy, palynology and embryology, the relationship between Sarcandra and Chloranthus is discussed.  相似文献

We propose Tinamutrema as a new genus for Brachylaima centrodes (Braun, 1901) Dollfus, 1935 and for T. canoae, as a new species inhabiting tinamus in the Area de Conservación Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Specimens from Costa Rica resemble B. centrodes in having an elongate body, pretesticular genital pore and terminal genitalia, intercecal uterine loops occupying all available space between the anterior testis and the intestinal bifurcation, an oral sucker width:pharynx width ratio of approximately 1:0.55, an oral sucker:ventral sucker width ratio of approximately 1:1, and vitelline follicles extending into the forebody closer to the pharynx than to the anterior margin of the ventral sucker and by living in the cloaca. They differ from B. centrodes in having vitelline follicles that do not extend as far anteriorly as those in B. centrodes, which extend anteriorly to the level of the anteriormost extent of the cecal "shoulders," dense tegumental spination as opposed to sparse or no spination, relatively smaller cirrus with fewer spines, longer and more sinous pars prostatica, and forebody averaging 36% of total body length (TBL) as opposed to 42% TBL. Both species differ from other members of the Brachylaimidae in possessing a spinose cirrus and a cirrus sac containing both the cirrus and the pars prostatica. Preliminary phylogenetic assessment suggests that these traits are plesiomorphic, and thus the species are basal to the rest of the Brachylaimidae, whose diagnosis we emend accordingly.  相似文献

Cytogenetic investigations were carried out on seven species of bisexual weevils from five subfamilies. The following numbers of chromosomes were found in individual species: 2n = 22, n male = 10 + Xyp in Ptochus porcellus Boh. (Otiorhynchinae); 2n = 40, n male = 19 + Xyp in Larinodontes turbinatus Gyll. (Cleoninae); 2n = 26, n male = 12 + Xyp in Curculio pellitus (Boh.) (Curculioninae); 2n = 30, n male = 14 + Xyp in Acalles camelus (F.), Acalles echinatus (Germ.), Acalles hypocrita Boh. (Cryptorhynchinae), and 2n = 40, n male = 19 + Xyp in Cionus hortulanus (Foucr.) (Mecininae). The heterochromosomes of all the examined species form, in the first meiotic metaphase, a parachute bivalent. The chromosome number and sex determining system of six species and two genera are described for the first time.  相似文献

SYNOPSIS. Diophrys scutum , collected from four locations on the New Hampshire coast, ranged from 89–195 7mu; in length, 50–105 μ in width, and 68–88 μ in buccal cavity length. The end of the adoral zone of membranelles (AZM) extends 37–59 μ (average = 45.6 μ) posteriorly in a groove on the right side of the body. Dorsally are five rows of stiff cilia. The silverline system (Chatton-Llvoff technique) appears as a fine meshwork, entirely different from that found in Euplotes or Uronychia . There are two elongate macronuclei (Feulgen reaction) and several micronuclei. Diophrys peloetes n. sp., collected from one location in Alligator Harbor. Florida, ranged from 95–134 μ in length, 62–84 μ in width. and 60–80 μ in buccal cavity length. The terminal portion of the AZM extends posteriorly in a groove 30–44 7mu; (average = 36.8 μ) on the right side of the body. Dorsally are eight rows of stiff cilia. The details of the silverline system are similar to those of D. scutum .
There is insufficient difference in ranges of body length, width. and buccal cavity length to use these characters in separating the two species. However, a statistical analysis shows that the length of the portion of the AZM on the right side of the body in D. scutum is significantly different (longer) from that of D. peloetes. Furthermore, these two species differ not only in number of dorsal ciliary rows, but also in the number of cilia per row. The degree of difference in these two species is similar to that between closely related species in other hypotrich genera, and also to that between some varieties of Paramecium aurelia.  相似文献

C-banding and Ag staining were applied to Cacopsylla sorbi and C. mali. The aim was to discover some additional cytological markers to follow the pathways of the sex determination system transformation in the evolution of the species. Of three karyotype patterns so far described in the literature for these species--a type A (XO), B (neoXY) and C (neoX1X2Y), only the last two types (B and C) were found. All 6 studied Cacopsylla sorbi from Finland had a karyotype of type B (2n = 20 + XY), while C. mali had both types. Type B (2n = 22 + XY) was observed in 31 males, whereas type C (2n = 20 + neoX1X2Y) in the remaining four. The karyotype of C. sorbi was found to be characterized by a very small amount of C-positive material, localized in a telomere of the Y chromosome. The karyotype of C. mali was also characterized by a very small amount of C-banded material. Both the sex chromosomes and the autosomes displayed a marked polymorphism of C-positive bands within different individuals and even the same individual. In both species the nucleolus was located in the telomere of a middle sized autosomal till diplotene inclusive. The C-banding and Ag staining in the studied Cacopsylla species did not provide any additional cytological markers for an understanding of the pathways of sex determination system transformation in the evolution of the species.  相似文献

A review of cestodes currently attributed to Progamotaenia zschokkei (Janicki, 1905) (Cestoda: Anoplocephalidae) suggests that six additional species are present: Pr. tenuis n. sp. found in Thylogale stigmatica (Gould) and T. thetis (Lesson), Pr. lomatosoma n. sp.from Macropus agilis (Gould), Pr. petrogale n. sp. from Petrogale spp. and Macropus dorsalis(Grey), Pr. fimbriata n.s p. from Lagorchestes conspicillatus Gould and L. hirsutus Gould, Pr. obesa n. sp. from Onychogalea fraenata (Gould) and O. unguifera (Gould) in north-eastern Australia and Pr. kellerae n. sp. from O. unguifera in north-western Australia. The new species are differentiated by a combination of characters: prominence of scolex lobes, number of lobes in the fimbriated velum, testis number and distribution, size of the cirrus-sac, morphology of the uterus and presence or absence of a pyriform apparatus in eggs from terminal segments. The morphological differences found support earlier molecular studies, in that cestodes within each host genus are distinct, with the exception that considerable morphological variation exists within Pr. petrogale. Principal components analysis suggested that most of the cestodes from Petrogale spp. belonged to Pr. petrogale. The status of specimens from Pe. lateralis is unclear. More detailed molecular studies are required to determine the significance of the morphological variation within this taxon. A key is provided to species within the complex and the related species Pr. villosa (Lewis, 1914).  相似文献

The karyotype of three species of South American grasshoppers are studied in this paper. Leiotettix sanguineus has two chromosome races, one of them with 2n=23 and an XO sex mechanism and the other, as far as we know limited to the Cerro Chato population, with 2n=22 and an XY sex mechanism. Leiotettix politus has two kinds of individuals, one with 2n=14 and XY sex chromosomes and the other 2n=13 and an X1X2Y mechanism. Dichroplus dubius presents 2n=21 and an X1X2Y sex chromosomes. One of the three specimens studied shows aberrant behaviour in the meiotic process.  相似文献

Thysanotohaptor n. gen. (Neocalceostomatidae) is proposed to accommodate Thysanotohaptor rex n. sp. collected from the gills of the blackfin sea catfish Arius jella Day (Siluriformes: Ariidae) from off the coast of Visakhapatnam, Bay of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, India. Thysanotohaptor is differentiated from the other known neocalceostomatid genera by its species having multiple postgermarial testes (single testis in species of Neocalceostoma and Neocalceostomoides ), lacking a transverse bar associated with the ventral anchor pair (present in species of Neocalceostoma ), and possessing a disc-shaped haptor with a pleated marginal frill (frill absent in Neocalceostomoides spp.; Neocalceostoma spp. with delicate marginal membranes). The Neocalceostomatidae is considered valid within the Order Dactylogyridea based on its members having a haptor armed with 10 marginal and 4 ventral hooks and a germarium having a distal loop prior to uniting with the ootype; the family is not assigned to a suborder of Dactylogyridea because of uncertainty in part about the way in which the distribution of haptoral hooks evolved within the taxon.  相似文献
