Two new species of parasitic Copepoda (Crustacea) are described and illustrated. Paeon australis n. sp. (Sphyriidae) is the first member of its genus discovered in Australian waters. It is parasitic on Rhinobates batillum, an elasmobranch fish. The other species, Lateracanthus curtus n. sp., is a parasite of an unspecified Macrourus, a deep-water teleost, taken in the northwestern Atlantic. The systematics of the genus Lateracanthus are discussed. Lateracanthus macrurus is relegated to the status of a species inquirenda. 相似文献

Two new species ofHalicyclops are described from plankton samples taken in two localities in the Amazon River mouth area, State of Pará, Brazil.Halicyclops lindbergi sp.n. resemblesH. hurlberti andH. clarkei from which it differs by a combination of characters in leg 5, the anal pseudoperculum and the caudal rami. The other new species,H. dussarti, is most morphologically similar toH. pilosus, but they are separated by differences in legs 1 and 5 as well as in the ornamentation of the middle caudal setae. 相似文献

Paracyclops longispina n. sp. and Paracyclops altissimus n. sp. are described. New characters derived from detailed examination
of body and limb ornamentation are used to differentiate them from other Paracyclops species. Paracyclops longispina n. sp.
resembles Paracyclops fimbriatus (Fischer, 1853) and Paracyclops imminutus Kiefer, 1929. It differs from the former by the
presence of a well-developed spinular row near the base of the inner setae on the antennal coxobasis in both sexes, and from
the latter in the structure of the seminal receptacle and the position of the mid-distal spinular row on the posterior surface
of the coxa of leg 1. Paracyclops altissimus n. sp. can be distinguished from other members of genus mainly by the structure
of the seminal receptacle and leg 5.

Two new species of benthopelagic copepods of the genus Stephos T. Scott, 1892, belonging to the family Stephidae G.O. Sars, 1902, are described based on specimens collected in the stagnant water flooding the burrows excavated by ocypodid crabs in two intertidal mud-flats, and from near-bottom shallow waters in Korea, respectively. They can be easily diagnosed based on the ornamentation of both the female genital double-somite and genital operculum; the morphology of the distal segment of the male right P5; the presence/absence of a tiny pointed process on the distomedial angle of second segment of female P5; and the condition (seta or spine) of the lateral armature element on the distal segment of female fifth legs, among other features. This is one of the few cases reported of calanoid copepods living as commensals of other invertebrates, and raises to six the number of members of the genus reported from Asia. This is also the first record of the family Stephidae in Korea. 相似文献

Two species of Drepanopus Brady (Copepoda Calanoida) with discrete ranges in the Southern Hemisphere
Morphological features, distributional records and developmentalstages of Drepanopus pectinatus Brady and D. forcipatus Giesbrechtindicate their close relationship but also corroborate the validityof their states as separate species with discrete ranges. D.pectinatus lives in inshore waters of the Crozet, Kerguelenand Heard Islands, south of the Antarctic Convergence. D. forcipatusoccurs along both the Pacific and thc Atlantic coasts of southernSouth America and around South Georgia. The distribution ofthe species in the former region, which includes the FalklandIslands, appears to be related to the extent of the continentalshelf and of the sub-Antarctic water; South Georgia lies southof the Antarctic Convergence. Significant morphometric differencesbetween both populations of D. forcipatus were found. 相似文献

Four new asterocherid copepods are reported from the sponge Dysidea at Pulau Gomumu, south of Obi, in the Moluccas. The copepods include: Asterocheres dysideae n. sp. (with a pointed postero-ventral process and a ventral setule on the caudal ramus); Parasterocheres cristatus, n. g., n. sp. (with a ridge on the free segment of leg 5 and ventral folds bearing spinules on the cephalosome); Phyllocheres petalus n. g., n. sp. (with a broad flattened leaf-like prosome, the second segment of the endopod of legs 1–4 with 2,2,2,2, and the third segment of the exopod of leg 1 with III,I,3); and Gomumucheres angularis n. g., n. sp. (with the second segment of the endopods of legs 1–4 with 2,2,1,1). 相似文献

Two species of cyclopoid copepods, Ochridacyclops kenyaensis sp. nov. and O. nepalensis sp. nov. are described as the first records of this genus from Kenya and Nepal, respectively. Ochridacyclops kenyaensis can easily be distinguished from its congeners by having a rounded and blunt distal end of the outer terminal seta (IV) on the caudal rami, and by the inner terminal spine being about equal in length to the outer terminal spine on the endopod of leg 4. Ochridacyclops nepalensis can easily be distinguished from other members of the genus by having two spines on exopodal segment 3 of leg 1, and by the proportions of the caudal rami, which are 3.4 times longer than wide. 相似文献

A new species of the genus Clausia associated with the polychaete Arenicola brasilliensis Nonata is described from intertidal sands in Korea. The new species, as a primitive member of the genus, has a large, non-transformed body and fully segmented rami on legs 1–4. This is the second record of Clausiidae in the Far Eastern seas. The genus Doviella Rocha, originally placed in the Clausidiidae, is synonymized with the genus Clausia in the Clausiidae. 相似文献

Mesocyclops ferjemurami sp. nov. is described from Central Vietnam, North India and Sri Lanka. It differs from all congeners in having a unique spinule ornamentation on the caudal surface of the antennary basipodite: the `leuckarti-type' spinule pattern is supplemented with a group of spinules at the height of implantation of the medial setae, and proximal to this group a triangular spinule field occurs, the longest side of which runs more or less parallel to the oblique row of tiny spinules starting at distal half of the medial rim. It is suggested that Mesocyclops ferjemurami is closely related to Mesocyclops pehpeiensis Hu, 1943 and Mesocyclops papuensis Van de Velde, 1987. 相似文献
