跳甲属Altica Geoffroy为一世界广布属,全世界记载300余种.本文研究了中国的种类,包括分布于新疆的1新种,中国共记载了28种.文中提供了新种的形态描述、整体图、形态特征图及雌雄外生殖器图,同时给出了中国分布种类的名录、分布和寄主植物记录.新种模式标本保存于中国科学院动物研究所.  相似文献

潜跳甲属Podagricomela Heikertinger是芸香科植物害虫,成虫食叶,幼虫潜食叶片、叶柄、花、及花柄等,我国已知7种(陈世骧、谢蕴贞,1966)。其中桔潜跳甲P.nigricollis Chen和枸桔潜跳甲P.weisei Heikertinger在我国江南柑桔产区,花椒潜跳甲P.shirahatai(Chujo)在山西及河南花椒栽培区,均造成严重危害。本文记述2新种,均为害花椒;产于陕西西部、甘肃南部和四川北部,在甘肃陇南地区这两种混合发生,为害很严重。新种模式标本保存在中国科学院动物研究所。  相似文献

跳甲属昆虫广布全世界,已知300多种,体色近似,外形差异不大,分类鉴定十分困难。但其中许多种类具特殊的食性特征,其寄主植物常是分类鉴定的向导和重要参考。作者分析了已知有寄主记录的59种跳甲的寄主,并根据其寄主范围划分为5种类型:取食多科、2科、1科多属、1科2属及1科1属,而以1科1属型为最多,占67.8%。至目前所知,其寄主范围限于双子叶植物,跳甲和寄主植物之间的对应关系是跳甲的“种”对植物的“属”。值得特别关注的是寄主植物的“种”与跳甲“亚种”之间的分化关系。成虫的取食范围大于幼虫,幼虫保持原始的取食特征。跳甲的同域物种分化可能通过食性转化而进行,食性转化可能先从成虫开始。成幼食性观察是研究寄主转移的关键。  相似文献

It is generally assumed that specialist insect herbivores utilize plant odours to find their particular host plants and that visual cues are of minor importance in the host‐finding process. We performed Y‐tube olfactometer bioassays and small‐scale field experiments to determine whether, under laboratory and field conditions, the monophagous herbivore Altica engstroemi J. Sahlberg (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Alticinae) is guided to its host plant Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim. (Rosaceae) by visual or olfactory cues. The olfactometer tests showed that A. engstroemi was never attracted to odours, either from undamaged or from damaged plants. Even starvation for 24 h did not change this behaviour. However, the field experiment showed that visual cues alone were sufficient to attract a significant number of starved beetles when offered a choice between bagged host plants and bagged green plastic control ‘plants’. Our findings contrast with the general view that plant odours constitute the major cue in the host‐finding process among specialized phytophagous insects. A review of the literature for the period 1986–2006 inclusive, relating to host‐plant finding in Chrysomelidae, identified studies of 19 chrysomelid species, all of which were guided by olfactory cues. No species were guided to their host by visual cues. Although some studies demonstrated that chrysomelids may exhibit orientation responses to colour or contrast, our study on A. engstroemi is the only one demonstrating that visual cues affect host‐plant selection in a chrysomelid species. We suggest that the use of visual cues in host‐finding may evolve among chrysomelids with limited dispersal ability in persistent habitats and may be found among species monophagous on abundant host plants that dominate the structure of the plant community, that is, where the host plant's presence is predictable in time and space.  相似文献

Ludwigia adscendens (L.) Hara, Ludwigia parviflora Roxb., and Ludwigia octovalvis (Jacq.) Raven (Onagraceae) are abundant weeds in rice fields in India. These weeds compete with rice for resources in fields and this results in reduction of grain yield. Altica cyanea (Weber) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is a biocontrol agent of the three rice-field weeds. Hence, it is relevant to study host preference of A. cyanea using volatile cues of these three weeds. Therefore, we attempted to identify volatiles from leaves of the three Ludwigia species attracting A. cyanea, which could be used as an attractant during early emergence of the weeds in rice fields. In Y-tube olfactometer assays, A. cyanea females were more attracted to natural volatiles of plants after 48 h of feeding by adults than to volatiles of undamaged plants. The volatile organic compounds from undamaged plants, and plants after 6 and 48 h of feeding by A. cyanea were identified and quantified by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC–MS) and GC-flame ionization detection (FID), respectively. In total, 25, 29, and 29 volatile compounds were detected in headspaces of undamaged L. adscendens, L. parviflora, and L. octovalvis, respectively, whereas 32, 35, and 34 compounds, respectively, were detected after 48 h of feeding by A. cyanea. Methyl jasmonate predominated among the volatile compounds in all treatments, but this compound was not attractive to A. cyanea. Females were attracted by synthetic blends of 3-hexanol, α-pinene, linalool oxide, and phytol in amounts mimicking those in each of the three Ludwigia species after 48 h of feeding by A. cyanea. The blends mimicking L. adscendens and L. parviflora included geraniol, whereas the blend mimicking L. parviflora also included 1-tridecanol. These synthetic blends may be helpful to monitor A. cyanea in biocontrol programmes.  相似文献

This is a preliminary study of the diversity of the Flea Beetles (Alticinae) of the Mexican state of Oaxaca based on fieldwork by the author in 1991, 1997, and 2010, the literature, and specimens in several institutional collections. The number of genera and species for Mexico as well as for Oaxaca increased significantly from previous studies. There are now 625 species in 90 genera recorded from Mexico with 275 species in 68 genera recorded from Oaxaca. There are 113 species known only from the state of Oaxaca and another 38 species known only from Oaxaca and the surrounding states. Oaxaca has a relatively high diversity as well as a high percentage of endemism. This study also demonstrates the effects of how even a small amount of fieldwork together with extracting specimen data from institutional collections can significantly increase the total faunistic and diversity knowledge of an area. A complete list of the genera and species known from Oaxaca is included.  相似文献

Altica carduorum Guer. (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) populations aggregate on vigorously growing stands of its host, the thistle Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop. (Asteraceae). The beetle needs contact to recognize a Cirsium species and biting to distinguish its host C. arvense. Feeding or mechanical damage on C. arvense, but not other Cirsium species, aggregates the beetles. Also feces from feeding on C. arvense, but not other Cirsium species, aggregates the opposite sex. Adults also aggregate on larval feces. We suggest that initial host location in the spring depends on random encounter by beetles overwintering in a stand of C. arvense. The beetles commonly make short flights after feeding and either land on another C. arvense plant, which establishes a secondary aggregation centre, or return to the original one. In this manner beetles released on a stand of C. arvense in China spread a radius of 600 m in a year, but those released 35 m away from their host failed to find it. Altica carduorum will develop on any Cirsium species to which it is confined, but is monophagous in the field because host finding is dependent on aggregation to wound and feces substances that are specific to C. arvense.  相似文献

The potential impact of the larval feeding by Alagoasa extrema Jacoby (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Alticinae) on potted plants of its host Lantana camara L. (Verbenaceae), a weed of major importance in South Africa, was examined. Under quarantine laboratory conditions, 2-month old plants of L. camara variety 029 White Pink were exposed to different larval feeding densities for a period of 18 days (completion of the larval stage). The above-ground dry mass of plants was significantly reduced following attack by larvae at densities of 5 larvae per plant (20% reduction) and 10 larvae per plant (28% reduction), when compared to unattacked plants. Attack by larvae over this short period had no significant impact on root growth. This demonstrates that A. extrema, once established in climatically favourable areas, could well augment other established agents in defoliating L. camara stands, reducing the accumulation of reserves and the competitiveness of the weed.  相似文献

The possible preference that the leaf-feeding flea-beetle, Alagoasa extrema Jacoby (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Alticinae), might have for different South African naturalized varieties of its host plant, Lantana camara L. (Verbenaceae), was studied under quarantine laboratory conditions. Studies included adult choice trials, larval no-choice trials and multi-generation no-choice trials using five L. camara varieties. Results indicated that A. extrema exhibited a degree of varietal preference under laboratory conditions. Variety 029 White Pink proved to be the most suitable host, although the other four tested varieties were able to support viable populations of A. extrema for three consecutive generations. Should A. extrema be released as biocontrol agent for L. camara in South Africa, all five of the tested varieties should be able to support viable populations of A. extrema in the field.  相似文献
