To investigate the effect of different chromium (CrVI) treatments on seedlings of semi-aquatic plant Barringtonia acutangula, hydroponic experiments were conducted. Results revealed that B. acutangula could tolerate much higher CrVI concentration accumulated about 751–2,703 mg kg?1 dry weight in roots and 50–1,101 mg kg?1 dry weight in shoots, respectively, under 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 mM chromium treatments. CrVI exposure at 1.0–4.0 mM does not exhibit toxicity signs; however, up to 4.0 mM CrVI exposure causes significant decline in growth parameters. Content of macronutrients such as Ca and K decreased under different Cr treatments in roots and shoots, while Mg content of roots and shoots did not influence at the range of 1.0–4.0 mM Cr; however, significant decrease at 5.0 mM Cr, besides P content, significantly shows increasing trends, respectively. Interestingly, sulfur content of roots and shoots show increasing trends at 1.0–2.0 mM Cr; however, severe decrease of up to 3.0–5.0 mM is shown in CrVI treatments. Furthermore, micronutrients content were enhanced under CrVI treatments excluding Cu and Fe since they show significant reduction in shoots as well as in roots. Bioaccumulation factor were also calculated on the basis of results obtained which shows the value of >1 without viewing chromium toxicity symptoms. This study demonstrated that B. acutangula could tolerate CrVI concentrations up to 1.0–4.0 mM Cr which may be useful in chromium phytoremediation programs.  相似文献

Hexavalent chromium is a contaminant highly mobile in the environment that is toxic for plants at low concentrations. In this work, the physiological response of Convolvulus arvensis and Medicago truncatula plants to Cr(VI) treatments was compared. C. arvensis is a potential Cr hyperaccumulator well adapted to semiarid conditions that biotransform Cr(VI) to the less toxic Cr(III). M. truncatula is a model plant well adapted to semiarid conditions with a well studied genetic response to heavy metal stress. The results demonstrated that C. arvensis is more tolerant to Cr toxicity and has a higher Cr translocation to the leaves. The inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy results showed that C. arvensis plants treated with 10 mg Cr(VI) L–1 accumulated 1512, 210, and 131 mg Cr kg–1 in roots, stems, and leaves, respectively. While M. truncatula plants treated with the same Cr(VI) concentration accumulated 1081, 331, and 44 (mg Cr kg–1) in roots, stems, and leaves, respectively. Enzymatic assays demonstrated that Cr(VI) decreased ascorbate peroxidase activity and increased catalase activity in M. truncatula, while an opposite response was found in C. arvensis. The x-ray absorption spectroscopy studies showed that both plant species reduced Cr(VI) to the less toxic Cr(III).  相似文献

Reductants are often used to reduce Cr(VI) in chemical treatments, yet the effects of the reductants on Cr(VI) phytoremediation are not fully understood. This study investigates the effects of different reductants on Cr(VI) phytoremediation by Ipomoea aquatica in simulated solution with 3 mg L?1 of Cr(VI), pH0 of 6, and an incubation time of 5 days. Results indicate that the applications of S2O32?, Fe0, and Fe2+ at low doses notably increased root Cr concentrations, which were obviously higher than that those in the control (Cr6+ alone). However, high reductant concentrations decreased bioaccumulation of Cr in the roots and shoots of the plant.

Statistical results indicate that Cr concentrations were significantly and negatively correlated with Fe concentrations in the roots and shoots of the plant (p < 0.05). This suggest that Fe accumulation inhibited Cr accumulation in the plant. A Cr(VI) concentration of 3 mg L?1 caused short, brown lateral roots with tip necrosis, leaf chlorosis, and noticeable shoot wilting. The leaf necrosis and shoot wilting is caused by oxidative damage of lateral roots by Cr(VI) rather than by the reactive oxygen species generated by the oxidative stress. Addition of the reductants effectively reduced these plant injuries.  相似文献

High frequency multiple shoots have been induced from nodal segments of Rhinacanthus nasutus (L.) Kurz., a potent anticancerous ethnomedicinal plant. For initiation of cultures, nodal segments were cultured on MS medium supplemented with various concentrations (1.0–5.0 μM) of 6-benzyladenine or thidiazuron (TDZ) alone or in combination with α-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA 0.5–1.0 μM). The optimum frequency of response (85 %) and shoot number (3.3) was observed on MS medium supplemented with 4.0 μM TDZ and 0.8 μM NAA. The shoots developed on initiation media were excised and nodal segments were subcultured on MS medium supplemented with TDZ (4.0 μM) and NAA (0.5–1.0 μM). This subculturing process was repeated thrice, each with 45 days of duration and the multiple shoot formation was recorded at the end of every subculture stage. The highest frequency of response (100 %) and number of multiple shoots (24.1) per explant were recorded at the end of the third subculture passage on MS medium supplemented with 4.0 μM TDZ and 0.8 μM NAA. The optimum rooting of shoots was observed on ½ MS medium fortified with 3.0 μM indole-3-butyric acid. The rooted plants were successfully transplanted to soil. The estimation of rhinacanthin (RC) content in shoots and roots was carried out in 6-month-old ex vitro plants (i.e., plants regenerated via in vitro culture) and field grown natural plants by high performance liquid chromatography. Both shoots and roots of naturally grown plants showed slightly higher RC content than ex vitro grown plants. The highest RC content (4.6 mg/g DW RC-C, 0.14 mg/g DW RC-D and 0.10 mg/g DW RC-N) was recorded in roots of naturally grown plants.  相似文献

Coronopus didymus was examined in terms of its ability to remediate Pb-contaminated soils. Pot experiments were conducted for 4 and 6 weeks to compare the growth, biomass, photosynthetic efficiency, lead (Pb) uptake, and accumulation by C. didymus plants. The plants grew well having no visible toxic symptoms and 100% survivability, exposed to different Pb-spiked soils 100, 350, 1500, and 2500 mg kg?1, supplied as lead nitrate. After 4 weeks, root and shoot concentrations reached 1652 and 502 mg Pb kg?1 DW, while after 6 weeks they increased up to 3091 and 527 mg Pb kg?1 DW, respectively, at highest Pb concentration. As compared to the 4 week experiments, the plant growth and biomass yield were higher after 6 weeks of Pb exposure. However, the chlorophyll content of leaves decreased but only a slight decline in photosynthetic efficiency was observed on exposure to Pb at both 4 and 6 weeks. The Pb accumulation was higher in roots than in the shoots. The bioconcentration factor of Pb was > 1 in all the plant samples, but the translocation factor was < 1. This suggested C. didymus as a good candidate for phytoremediation of Pb-contaminated soils and can be used for future remediation purposes.  相似文献

Glutathione (GSH) plays a central role in the plant tolerance against the toxic effects of metals. It is a key antioxidant and acts as a cofactor for glutathione S-transferase (GST). The main objective of this study was to determine the Pb tolerance and bioaccumulation by Dodonaea viscosa (L.) Jacq. and their relation to GSH production and GST activity. The relationship between the Pb tolerance and bioaccumulation by D. viscosa and the effect of the exposure time on the GSH production or the GST activity was assessed in trials with perlite under different Pb treatments. D. viscosa showed a remarkable tolerance to Pb [half-inhibitory concentration (IC50) = 2,797 mg kg?1] and accumulated up to 11,428 mg Pb kg?1 in dry roots with a limited translocation to shoots without any signs of phytotoxicity after 105 days of exposure. The stress caused by the fast Pb uptake rate (489 mg kg?1 day?1) during the first 10 days of exposure was strongly correlated to increased GSH contents (~1.3-fold) and GST activities (~3.6-fold) in both shoots and roots. The results indicate that the Pb stress triggered a defense mechanism that involved increased contents of GSH and GST activities, suggesting that both variables are involved in the tolerance of D. viscosa against Pb toxicity.  相似文献

Acacia farnesiana is a shrub widely distributed in soils heavily polluted with arsenic in Mexico. However, the mechanisms by which this species tolerates the phytotoxic effects of arsenic are unknown. This study aimed to investigate the tolerance and bioaccumulation of As by A. farnesiana seedlings exposed to high doses of arsenate (AsV) and the role of peroxidases (POX) and glutathione S-transferases (GST) in alleviating As-stress. For that, long-period tests were performed in vitro under different AsV treatments. A. farnesiana showed a remarkable tolerance to AsV, achieving a half-inhibitory concentration (IC50) of about 2.8 mM. Bioaccumulation reached about 940 and 4380 mg As·kg?1 of dry weight in shoots and roots, respectively, exposed for 60 days to 0.58 mM AsV. Seedlings exposed to such conditions registered a growth delay during the first 15 days, when the fastest As uptake rate (117 mg kg?1 day?1) occurred, coinciding with both the highest rate of lipid peroxidation and the strongest up-regulation of enzyme activities. GST activity showed a strong correlation with the As bioaccumulated, suggesting its role in imparting AsV tolerance. This study demonstrated that besides tolerance to AsV, A. farnesiana bioaccumulates considerable amounts of As, suggesting that it may be useful for phytostabilization purposes.  相似文献

Alfalfa plants germinated and grown for 15 d in soil containing 80 mg Pb kg?1 were treated with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) at 0.8 mM and indole-3-acetic acid-kinetin (IAA-KN) at 100 μM. Fifteen days after the treatment application, the concentration of lead (Pb), macronutrients, and micronutrients was determined using inductively coupled plasma/optical emission spectroscopy. The chlorophyll content and plant growth were also measured. Roots of plants exposed to Pb alone, Pb–EDTA, and Pb–EDTA-IAA-KN had 160, 140, and 150 mg Pb kg?1 DW, respectively. Pb was not detected in the stems of plants exposed to Pb alone; however, stems of plants treated with EDTA and EDTA–IAA-KN had 78 and 142 mg Pb kg?1 DW, respectively. While the Pb concentration in leaves of plants treated with EDTA and EDTA–IAA-KN was 92 and 127 mg kg?1 DW, respectively. In addition, EDTA and EDTA–IAA-KN significantly increased the translocation of zinc and manganese to leaves. The x-ray absorption spectroscopic studies demonstrated that Pb(II) was transported from roots to leaves without a change in the oxidation state.  相似文献

In this study, a combination of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) was used to study the uptake and speciation of chromium in Parkinsonia aculeata, commonly known as Mexican Palo Verde. Plants were treated for 14 days in a modified Hoagland solution containing chromium(III) or chromium(VI) at several concentrations. The results showed that plants treated with 70 mg Cr(III) L(-1) and 30 mg Cr(VI) L(-1) had similar Cr concentrations in leaves (~200 mg kg(-1) dry weight, DW). The results also showed that neither Cr(III) nor Cr(VI) affected the uptake of phosphorus and sulfur. However, the concentration of calcium in the stems of plants treated with Cr(VI) at 40 mg L(-1) (about 6000 mg Ca kg(-1) DW) was significantly higher compared to the Ca concentration (about 3000 mg kg(-1) DW) found in the stems of plants treated with 150 mg Cr(III) L(-1). However, no differences were observed in potassium and magnesium concentrations. The iron concentration (about 1000 mg kg(-1) DW) in roots treated with 40 mg Cr(VI) L(-1) was similar to the iron concentration found in the roots of plants treated with 110 mg Cr(III) L(-1). The XAS data showed that Cr(VI) was reduced to Cr(III) in/on the plant roots and transported as Cr(III) to the stems and leaves. The XAS studies also showed that Cr(III) within plants was present as an octahedral complex.  相似文献

The aim of the study was the analysis of Cr distribution in shoots of the macrophyte Callitriche cophocarpa by means of two X-ray-based techniques: micro X-ray fluorescence (μXRF) and electron probe X-ray microanalysis (EPXMA). Plants were treated with 100 μM (5.2 mg l?1) chromium solutions for 7 days. Cr was introduced independently at two speciations as Cr(III) and Cr(VI), known for their diverse physicochemical properties and different influence on living organisms. A comparative analysis of Cr(III)-treated plants by EPXMA and μXRF demonstrated high deposition of Cr in epidermal glands/hairs localized on leaves and stems of the plant shoots. Cr in Cr(III)-treated plants was recorded solely in glands/hairs, and the element was not present in any other structures. On the other hand, Cr in Cr(VI)-treated group of plants was rather found in vascular bundles. Moreover, the concentration of Cr in Cr(VI)-treated plants was significantly lower than in plants incubated in Cr(III) solution. The results obtained in this work suggest differences in chromium uptake, transport and accumulation dependent on the oxidative state of the element.  相似文献

We investigated effect of farm yard manure (FYM) and compost applied to metal contaminated soil at rate of 1% (FYM-1, compost-1), 2% (FYM-2, compost-2), and 3% (FYM-3, compost-3). FYM significantly (P < 0.001) increased dry weights of shoots and roots while compost increased root dry weight compared to control. Amendments significantly increased nickel (Ni) in shoots and roots of maize except compost applied at 1%. FYM-3 and -1 caused maximum Ni in shoots (11.42 mg kg?1) and roots (80.92 mg kg?1), respectively while compost-2 caused maximum Ni (14.08 mg kg?1) and (163.87 mg kg?1) in shoots and roots, respectively. Plants grown in pots amended with FYM-2 and compost-1 contained minimum Cu (30.12 and 30.11 mg kg?1) in shoots, respectively. FYM-2 and compost-2 caused minimum zinc (Zn) (59.08 and 66.0 mg kg?1) in maize shoots, respectively. FYM-2 caused minimum Mn in maize shoots while compost increased Mn in shoots and roots compared to control. FYM and compost increased the ammonium bicarbonate diethylene triamine penta acetic acid (AB-DTPA) extractable Ni and Mn in the soil and decreased Cu and Zn. Lower remediation factors for all metals with compost indicated that compost was effective to stabilize the metals in soil compared to FYM.  相似文献

The reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) is a potential detoxification process. In this study, seven Pseudomonas spp. were isolated and screened for chromium reduction. Isolate P4 was able to grow in the presence of 8000 μM chromium, in spite of the fact that the isolate was not previously exposed to any metal stress. Isolate P4 was identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain SRD chr3 by 16S rDNA sequence analysis. Shake flask study showed 78% reduction of 1000 μM Cr(VI) after 6 h of incubation. The optimum pH for chromium reduction by the isolate was between 6 and 8. Isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa gave 50–80% Cr(VI) reduction even in the presence of 100 mM of Cu, Mn, Ni, and Zn and 300–800 mM NaCl in 24 h, compared with the absence of any of these metals. In a 5-L reactor, the isolate showed 84.85% reduction of Cr(VI) even at the 70th cycle, with a hydraulic retention time of 24 h from the effluent of a hard chrome plating (electroplating) industry, which contained 2100 mg L?1 hexavalent chromium. The chromate-amended soil inoculated with the isolate showed 2800 μM chromium removal from 4000 μM Cr(VI) kg?1 of soil, which corresponds to 70% removal. The isolate had the ability to degrade stimulated waste containing 10,000 μM chromium.  相似文献

To determine if the Ni-hyperaccumulator Alyssum corsicum can absorb Ni from the kinetically inert crystalline mineral NiO(s) (bunsenite). A. corsicum and A. montanum plants were grown for 30 days in a serpentine Hoagland solution. NiO was provided at 0 or 0.1 g L?1 (1.34 mmol L?1) as reagent grade NiO particles <1 μm diameter, continuously mixed by aeration. A. corsicum and A. montanum shoots contained 19.4 and 5.2 mg Ni kg?1 DW with NiO, and 3.0 and 1.1 mg Ni kg?1 DW shoots, respectively in the control treatment. A. corsicum normally absorbs over 12,000 mg Ni kg?1 shoots when supplied 300 μM soluble Ni. Roots were coated with the NiO particles and contained 3–5% Ni at harvest. Despite the small Ni accumulation in the NiO treatment above control, A. corsicum is not capable of dissolving and hyperaccumulating Ni from NiO.  相似文献

Two native bacterial strains, FY1 and WZ2, that showed high chromium(VI)-reducing ability were respectively isolated from electroplating and tannery effluent–contaminated sites and identified as Bacillus and Arthrobacter. The objective of the present study was to evaluate their potential for future application in soil bioremediation. The results showed that both Bacillus sp. FY1 and Arthrobacter sp. WZ2 were tolerant to 1000 mg L?1 Cr(VI) and capable of reducing 78–85% and 75–82% of Cr(VI) (100–200 mg L?1) within 24 h, respectively. The Cr(VI) reduction rate decreased with increasing levels of Cr(VI) concentration (200–1000 mg L?1). The optimum pH, temperature, and inoculum concentration for Cr(VI) reduction were found to be between pH 7.0 and 8.0; 30 and 35°C; and 1 × 108 cells ml?1, respectively. Further evidence for the bioremediation potential of Bacillus sp. FY1 and Arthrobacter sp. WZ2 was provided by the high capacity to reduce 100, 200, and 500 mg kg?1 Cr(VI) in contaminated soil by 83–91%, 78–85%, and 71–78% within 7 days, respectively. These findings demonstrated the high potential of Bacillus sp. FY1 and Arthrobacter sp. WZ2 for application in future soil bioremediation.  相似文献

A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the uptake of Zn from experimentally contaminated calcareous soil of low nutrient status by maize inoculated with the arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus Glomus caledonium. EDTA was applied to the soil to mobilize Zn and thus maximize plant Zn uptake. The highest plant dry matter (DM) yields were obtained with a moderate Zn addition level of 300 mg kg?1. Plant growth was enhanced by mycorrhizal colonization when no Zn was added and under the highest Zn addition level of 600 mg kg?1, while application of EDTA to the soil generally inhibited plant growth. EDTA application also increased plant Zn concentration, and Zn accumulation in the roots increased with increasing EDTA addition level. The effects of inoculation with Gcaledonium on plant Zn uptake varied with Zn addition level. When no Zn was added, Zn translocation from roots to shoots was enhanced by mycorrhizal colonization. In contrast, when Zn was added to the soil, mycorrhizal colonization resulted in lower shoot Zn concentrations in mycorrhizal plants. The P nutrition of the maize was greatly affected by AM inoculation, with mycorrhizal plants showing higher P concentrations and P uptake. The results indicate that application of EDTA mobilized soil Zn, leading to increased Zn accumulation by the roots and subsequent plant toxicity and growth inhibition. Mycorrhizal colonization alleviated both Zn deficiency and Zn contamination, and also increased host plant growth by influencing mineral nutrition. However, neither EDTA application nor arbuscular mycorrhiza stimulated Zn translocation from roots to shoots or metal phytoextraction under the experimental conditions. The results are discussed in relation to the environmental risk associated with chelate-enhanced phytoextraction and the potential role of arbuscular mycorrhiza in soil remediation.  相似文献

Drimia robusta is a threatened traditional medicinal plant extensively used in South Africa. Rapid in vitro mass propagation of the species was developed for commercial cultivation from leaf explants using various concentrations and combinations of plant growth regulators and organic elicitors. The highest number of regenerated shoots per explant (14.6 ± 0.54) was obtained on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with a combination of 2.27 μM thidiazuron (TDZ), 2.22 μM benzyladenine (BA) and 20 μM glutamine. Adventitious shoots were rooted and the plantlets were successfully acclimatized (100 %) in a vermiculite-soil mixture (1:1 v/v) in the greenhouse. Proscillaridin A (PsA) content and the antibacterial activity of in vitro and ex vitro regenerated plants were evaluated in different tissues in comparison to naturally-grown plants. The highest content of PsA (19.68 μg mg?1 DW) was recorded in roots of ex vitro plants which were grown on MS medium containing 2.27 μM TDZ, 2.22 μM BA and 100 mg l?1 casein hydrolysate. In vitro regenerated plants grown on MS medium containing 2.27 μM TDZ, 2.22 μM BA and 50.8 μM MBZ gave high antibacterial activity (MIC of 0.156 mg ml?1) against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Using this protocol the regenerated plants can be used in traditional medicine as an alternative to naturally collected plants.  相似文献

Salinity is one of the major constraints in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) production. One of the means to overcome this constraint is the use of plant growth regulators to induce plant tolerance. To study the plant response to salinity in combination with a growth regulator, 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), oilseed rape plants were grown hydroponically in greenhouse conditions under three levels of salinity (0, 100, and 200 mM NaCl) and foliar application of ALA (30 mg/l). Salinity depressed the growth of shoots and roots, and decreased leaf water potential and chlorophyll concentration. Addition of ALA partially improved the growth of shoots and roots, and increased the leaf chlorophyll concentrations of stressed plants. Foliar application of ALA also maintained leaf water potential of plants growing in 100 mM salinity at the same level as that of the control plants, and there was also an improvement in the water relations of ALA-treated plants growing in 200 mM. Net photosynthetic rate and gas exchange parameters were also reduced significantly with increasing salinity; these effects were partially reversed upon foliar application with ALA. Sodium accumulation increased with increasing NaCl concentration which induced a complex response in the macro-and micronutrients uptake and accumulation in both roots and leaves. Generally, analyses of macro- (N, P, K, S, Ca, and Mg) and micronutrients (Mn, Zn, Fe, and Cu) showed no increased accumulation of these ions in the leaves and roots (on dry weight basis) under increasing salinity except for zinc (Zn). Foliar application of ALA enhanced the concentrations of all nutrients other than Mn and Cu. These results suggest that under short-term salinity-induced stress (10 days), exogenous application of ALA helped the plants improve growth, photosynthetic gas exchange capacity, water potential, chlorophyll content, and mineral nutrition by manipulating the uptake of Na+.  相似文献

Bioreduction of the very toxic hexavalent chromium ion [Cr(VI)] to the non-toxic trivalent chromium ion [Cr(III)] is a key remediation process in chromium-contaminated sites. In this study, we investigated the bioreduction of Cr(VI) by Pseudomonas stutzeri L1 and Acinetobacter baumannii L2. The optimum pH (5–10), temperature (27, 37 and 60 °C) and initial chromium Cr(VI) concentration (100–1000 mg L?1) for Cr(VI) reduction by strains L1 and L2 were determined using the diphenylcarbazide method. In the presence of L1 and L2, the bioreduction rate of Cr(VI) was 40–97 and 84–99%, respectively. The bioreduction of Cr(VI) by L2 was higher, reaching up to 84%—than that by L1. The results showed that strain L2 was able to survive even if exposed to 1000 mg L?1 of Cr(VI) and that this tolerance to the effects of Cr(VI) was linked to the activity of soluble enzyme fractions. Overall, A. baumannii L2 would appear to be a potent Cr(VI)-tolerant candidate for the bioremediation of chromium (VI)-contaminated wastewater effluent.  相似文献

Alfalfa was cultivated in two potted soil series obtained from two sandy soils contaminated by Cu (SM) and metal(loids)/PAH (CD). Shoot production was monitored for 8 weeks. Then, larvae of Spodoptera exigua were reared on alfalfa of both soil series for eight days. A biotest (using Phaseolus vulgaris) was used to assess the soil phytotoxicity. Increasing soil contamination reduced P. vulgaris growth, but alfalfa growth was only reduced on the SM soil series. Exposure to the SM soil was mirrored by shoot Cu and Cr concentrations of alfalfa (respectively, in mg kg ?1 DW, Cu and Cr ranged from 11.9 and 0.4 in the CTRL soil to 98.5 and 1.2 in the SM one). Exposure to the CD soil series was mirrored by shoot Zn concentrations (i.e., 48–91.6 mg kg?1 DW). Internal metal(loid) concentrations of S. exigua remained generally steady across both soil series (respectively Cd 0.05–0.16, Cr 0.5–3.3, Cu 5.8–98.5, Ni 0.6–1.6, Pb 0.4–1.3, and Zn 57–337 mg kg?1 DW), and most of the associated transfer factors were lower than 1. Here, due to the excluder phenotype of alfalfa across our TE contamination gradients, S. exigua could cope with high total metal(loid) concentration in both contaminated soils.  相似文献

Abelmoschus manihot, an ornamental plant, was examined for phytoremediation purposes in accordance with the ability to accumulate cadmium and physiological mechanisms of cadmium tolerance. A net photosynthetic rate (A N) glasshouse experiment for 60 days was conducted to investigate the influence of different cadmium amounts (0–100 mg kg?1) on the growth, biomass, photosynthetic performance, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, antioxidative enzyme activities, Cd uptake and accumulation of A. manihot. Exposure to cadmium enhanced plant growth even at 100 mg kg?1, without showing symptoms of visible damage. The cadmium concentration of shoots (stems or leaves) and roots was more than the critical value of 100 mg kg?1 and reached 126.17, 185.26 and 210.24 mg kg?1, respectively. BCF values of A. manihot plants exceeded the reference value 1.0 for all the Cd treatments, and TF values were greater than 1 at 15–60 mg kg?1 Cd treatment. The results also showed that cadmium concentrations of 60 mg kg?1 or less induced a significant enhancement in plant net photosynthetic rate (A N), stomatal conductance (G s), transpiration rate (T r), photosynthetic pigments and F v/F m. These parameters were slightly decreased at the higher concentration (100 mg kg?1). The ROS production (O2 ?, H2O2) and antioxidative response including SOD, CAT and POD were significantly enhanced by increasing cadmium. These results suggest that A. manihot can be considered as a Cd-hyperaccumulator and the hormetic effects may be taken into consideration in remediation of Cd contamination soil.  相似文献
