Summary A new species ofArthroderma, A. tuberculatum, is described and illustrated. This new species is represented by two strains isolated from feathers of a robin and from an owl pellet. AlthoughA. tuberculatum is similar to the only other known species of the genus,A. curreyi, with regard to the characteristics of the perfect stage, the two species may easily be distinguished by virtue of the accessory spore forms.Arthroderma curreyi forms small aleuriospores whileA. tuberculatum produces large, tuberculate aleuriospores. The morphological development of the ascocarp is presented along with other diagnostic characteristics. Asci are formed through the intervention of croziers.  相似文献

Summary A new genus,Pectinotrichum llanense, was isolated from Venezuelan soils. The generic determination is based upon the morphological characteristics of the ascocarp.1. Well developed pectinate structures arise from the peripheral elements of the ascocarp.2. Large tuberculations are present over the appendages and peridial elements.3. Elongate appendages are branched and septate.4. Short and elongate appendages are present as in the related generaMyxotrichum, Gymnoascus andAuxarthron.  相似文献

Daltonia fenestrellata Griffin was collected by A. M. Cleef in the Andes of Colombia in 1973. It is characterized by the cuspidate, incurved or recurved leaf tips, the elongated juxtacostal cells and the apically scabrous seta. It seems most closely allied toD. gomezii Crosby of Costa Rica.  相似文献

A new species of Festuca (Festuca rivas-martinezii de la Fuente & Ortúñez) is described from the Sierra de Ayllón, Sierra de Guadarrama, Sierra de Gredos and associated chains (northcentral Spain: provinces of Avila, Guadalajara, Madrid and Segovia. Some morphological, anatomical and cytological characters of the taxon are presented.  相似文献

Cortinarius laccarioides sp. nov., found in deciduous forests, is described and illustrated. It is characterized by its small hygrophanous pileus, greyish red or greyish violet lamellae and stipe, and globose to subglobose basidiospores. The differences betweenC. laccarioides and similar species are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Cortinarius prunicola sp. nov., found in orchards and plantations ofPrunus mume, is described and illustrated. It is characterized by its dry and violet-white carpophores, unpleasant odor, and its close association withP. mume in spring and early summer. The differences betweenC. prunicola and similar species are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Two isolated trunk vertebrae from the ?uppermost Albian–lower Cenomanian Kem Kem beds of Morocco are described and assigned to Lapparentophis, an early snake genus known from coeval deposits in Algeria. The Moroccan specimens represent a new species, Lapparentophis ragei, which can be distinguished from the type and only known species, Lapparentophis defrennei, by its smaller size, its more elongate vertebrae, the presence of parazygosphenal foramina, and paradiapophyses extending anteroventrally closer to the cotyle. The discovery of Lapparentophis in the Kem Kem beds adds to the relatively diverse snake assemblage previously reported from this formation and extends the geographical range of the genus. The distribution of Lapparentophis and lapparentophiid-grade (?lapparentophiid) snakes is discussed. This poorly known family of terrestrial snakes seems to be restricted to the latest Albian–early Cenomanian of North Africa, with the exception of Pouitella from the early–middle Cenomanian of France. As for many other vertebrate taxa of this period, this distribution is consistent with a dispersal event from Africa to the western part of the European archipelago.  相似文献

A recently erected species of Saxifraga (section Porphyrion ) endemic to the Picos de Europa (Cordillera Cantábrica) is described and illustrated. S. felineri P. Vargas resembles S. aretioides and S. ferdinandi-coburgi , although the habit and leaf shape are the main characters which support its identity. The taxonomic relationships of the three species are discussed, as well as aspects of the distribution and ecology of S. felineri.  相似文献

Acrostichum intertrappeum sp. nov., a permineralized aerial stem with helically arranged petioles and roots in organic connection, is described from the Deccan Intertrappean beds of Nawargaon, District Wardha, Maharashtra, India and forms the first and the oldest record of its kind. The stem is covered with a thick ramentum of large multicellular scales and is characterized by a three angled dictyostele enclosing a few medullary bundles. The petioles are helically arranged and the vascular morphology is distinct with abaxial horseshoe-shaped ring, adaxial linear row and central dorso-ventrally elongated ring. The roots have hexarch steles and aerenchymatous cortex with large air cavities in rings. Occurrence of Acrostichum along with coastal palms, mangroves and marsh plants described earlier from this region and nearby locations suggests the north-western shore of the Deccan was linked to the equatorial ocean (South Western Tethys Sea) probably through the Narmada Valley during the deposition of Intertrappean sediments. Morphological features and anatomical characters of the fossil reveal that Acrostichum grew in marsh swamp environment or on mud flats of back water areas of the coastal environment prevailing a tropical humid climate when the Deccan region was almost at an equatorial position during the Late Cretaceous period. This new record further adds to a growing body of data on the diversification of polypodiaceous ferns that point to a much earlier crown group radiation of the group than previously thought.  相似文献

A new species ofConiochaetidium isolated from soil of Iraq is described. The speciesC. nuciforme differs fromC. savoryi in the shape and size of the ascospores. A key to differentiate the accepted species of the genus is reported.  相似文献

A new species ofScopularoipsis described from soil is characterized by the conidiophores, branches, and sporogenous cells being distinctly swollen. The conidia have a well-marked germ slit running more or less longitudinally down the spore. TheScopulariopsis state ofMicroascus doguetii is re-examined and evidence is presented which indicates that the striations on the walls of the spores are germ slits.  相似文献

Myxobolus galaxii sp. nov. from the spinal cord of Galaxias olidus in northeast Victoria induced little pathologicaf change even when present in lare numbers. Myxobolus gadopsii sp. nov. was found in the meninx and other connective tissues of Gadopsis marmoratus popufations within all three mainland Victorian enotypes as well as in G. bispinosus. Myxobolus gadopsii also appeared to be harmless to its hosts. Kudoa sp. from the brain of Lates calcarifer in north Queensland was associated with abnormal swimming behaviour in juveniles but not in adults. A further Kudoa species, probably K. nova or K. clupeidae, was examined in Thunnus maccoyii from Western Australia, where it was found that most, if not all, of the infections developed in peripheral nerves.  相似文献
