Three novel ternary copper(II) complexes, [Cu2(phen)2(l-PDIAla)(H2O)2](ClO4)2·2.5H2O (1), [Cu4(phen)6(d,l-PDIAla)(H2O)2](ClO4)6·3H2O (2) and [Cu2(phen)2(d,l-PDIAla)(H2O)](ClO4)2·0.5H2O (3) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, H2PDIAla = N,N’-(p-xylylene)di-alanine acid) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography and other structural analysis. Spectrometric titrations, ethidium bromide displacement experiments, CD (circular dichroism) spectral analysis and viscosity measurements indicate that the three compounds, especially the complex 3, strongly bind to calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA). The intrinsic binding constants of the ternary copper(II) complexes with CT-DNA are 0.89 × 105, 1.14 × 105 and 1.72 × 105 M−1, for 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Comparative cytotoxic activities of the copper(II) complexes are also determined by acid phosphatase assay. The results show that the ternary copper(II) complexes have significant cytotoxic activity against the HeLa (Cervical cancer), HepG2 (hepatocarcinoma), HL-60 cells (myeloid leukemia), A-549 cells (pulmonary carcinoma) and L02 (liver cells). Investigations of antioxidation properties show that all the copper(II) complexes have strong scavenging effects for hydroxyl radicals and superoxide radicals.  相似文献

Four copper(II) complexes containing the reduced Schiff base ligands, namely, N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-glycinamide (Hsglym) and N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-l-alaninamide (Hsalam) have been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of [Cu2(sglym)2Cl2] (1), [Cu2(salam)2(NO3)2] · H2O (3), [Cu2(salam)2(NO3)(H2O)](NO3) · 1.5H2O (4), [Cu2(salam)2](ClO4)2 · 2H2O (5) show that the Cu(II) atoms are bridged by two phenolato oxygen atoms in the dimers. The sglym ligand bonded to Cu(II) in facial manner while salam ligand prefers to bind to Cu(II) in meridonal geometry. Variable temperature magnetic studies of 3 showed it is antiferromagnetic. These Cu(II) complexes and [Cu2(sglym)2(NO3)2] (2), exhibit very small catecholase activity as compared to the corresponding complexes containing acid functional groups.  相似文献

The synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of the new symmetric, ligand bis(salicylaldehyde)methyliminodiacetylhydrazone (H4MeImds) is reported. The reactions of H4 MeImds with copper(II) chloride, nitrate and sulfate give trinuclear metal complexes of formula Cu3(MeImds)Cl2 · CHCl3 · H2O, Cu3(MeImds)(NO3)2 · 2H2O and Cu3(MeImds)(SO4) · 8H2O; the trinuclear species are obtained in spite of the used metal:ligand molar ratio. The X-ray crystal structure of [Cu3(MeImds)(SO4)(H2O)3] · 5H2O is determined; it consists of linear units, with the nonadentate ligand bound to three copper ions. The trimetallic units are bridged via sulfate anions to give hexanuclear dimers with an imposed centre of symmetry. The magnetic properties of [Cu3(MeImds)(SO4)(H2O)3] · 5H2O are characterized by a significant antiferromagnetic coupling within the trimetallic units and by a weak antiferromagnetic coupling between them. The analogous trinuclear copper(II) complexes Cu3(HImds)Cl2 · H2O and Cu3(HImds)(SO4) · 4H2O (H5Imds, bis(salicylaldehyde)iminodiacetylhydrazone) were also prepared and spectroscopically characterized.  相似文献

The complexes [Cu2(o-NO2-C6H4COO)4(PNO)2] (1), [Cu2(C6H5COO)4(2,2′-BPNO)]n (2), [Cu2(C6H5COO)4(4,4′-BPNO)]n (3), [Cu(p-OH-C6H4COO)2(4,4′-BPNO)2·H2O]n (4), (where PNO = pyridine N-oxide, 2,2′-BPNO = 2,2′-bipyridyl-N,N′-dioxide, 4,4′-BPNO = 4,4′-bipyridyl-N,N′-dioxide) are prepared and characterized and their magnetic properties are studied as a function of temperature. Complex 1 is a discrete dinuclear complex while complexes 2-4 are polymeric of which 2 and 3 have paddle wheel repeating units. Magnetic susceptibility measurements from polycrystalline samples of 1-4 revealed strong antiferromagnetic interactions within the {Cu2}4+ paddle wheel units and no discernible interactions between the units. The complex 5, [Cu(NicoNO)2·2H2O]n·4nH2O, in which the bridging ligand to the adjacent copper(II) ions is nicotinate N-oxide (NicoNO) the transmitted interaction is very weakly antiferromagnetic.  相似文献

To compare the cytotoxicities and the DNA-binding properties in tetranuclear complexes with different bridging ligands, two tetracopper(II) complexes with formulae of [Cu4(oxbe)2Cl2(bpy)2]·4H2O (1) and [Cu4(oxbm)2Cl2(bpy)2]·2H2O (2) were synthesized, where H3oxbe and H3oxbm stand for N-benzoato-N′-(2-aminoethyl)oxamide and N-benzoato-N′-(1,2-propanediamine)oxamide, respectively, and bpy is 2,2′-bipyridine. Complex 1 was characterized by elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure reveals the presence of the circular tetranuclear copper(II) cations which are assembled by a pair of cis-oxamido-bridged dinuclear copper(II) units through carboxyl bridges. The crystal structure of complex 2 has been reported in our previous paper. However, the bioactivities were not studied. Cytotoxicities experiments reveal that both the two complexes exhibit cytotoxic effects against human hepatocellular carcinoma cell SMMC-7721 and human lung adenocarcinoma cell A549, and complex 1 has the better activities than those of complex 2. The results of the interactions between the two complexes and herring sperm DNA (HS-DNA) suggest that the two complexes interact with HS-DNA in the mode of intercalation with the intrinsic binding constants of 3.93 × 104 M−1 (1) and 2.48 × 104 M−1 (2). These results indicated that the bridging ligands may play an important role in the cytotoxicities and the DNA-binding properties of tetranuclear complexes.  相似文献

Substituted pyridines provide structural rigidity and thus permit the metal coordination geometry to guide the direction of propagation of the hydrogen-bonded links between building blocks. In this paper we present the crystal structures and spectroscopic properties of monomeric, dimeric and polymeric copper(II) chloroacetates with isonicotinamide (INA), N-methylnicotinamide (MNA) and N,N-diethylnicotinamide (DENA). The molecular structure of [Cu(ClCH2CO2)2(INA)2]2 (1) consists of a rather interesting dinuclear molecule with copper atoms bridged by anti, anti-O,O′ bridging oxygens of two chloroacetate anions. Each copper atom is octahedrally coordinated thus forming a CuN2O4 core with two nitrogens, originating from two different isonicotinamide molecules, in trans positions. This complex is one of a very few examples of this rare type of structure in which both carboxylate oxygen anions are coordinated to two copper metal ions. The crystal structure of 1 revealed an infinite 1-D linear hydrogen-bonded chain formed by discrete molecules [Cu(ClCH2CO2)2(INA)2]2 connected by strong hydrogen bonds between two amide groups. This structure is the first example, where two pairs of amide groups are involved in hydrogen bonding connecting two molecules. The X-ray structure of the complex [Cu(CCl3CO2)2(INA)2]n (3) revealed a tetragonal bipyramidal environment about the copper(II) atom. This structure represents the first example of copper(II) complex, where isonicotinamide acts as a bridging ligand. Strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds, N-H?O, create two eight-membered metallocycle rings which stabilizes the molecular structure. The crystal structure of 3 consists of 2-D sheets of a metal-organic framework. The coordination environment of the copper(II) atom in [Cu(CCl3CO2)2(MNA)2(H2O)2] · 2H2O (6 · 2H2O) is an elongated tetragonal bipyramid. Strong intramolecular hydrogen bond interactions involving an axial coordinated water molecule and a carboxylic oxygen atom stabilize the molecular structure. The crystal structure of [Cu2(ClCH2CO2)4(DENA)]n (7) shows that the complex is an extended zigzag coordination chain of alternating binuclear paddle-wheel units of the bridging tetracarboxylate type Cu2(ClCH2CO2)4 and N,N-diethylnicotinamide molecules. This complex represents the first example of copper(II) carboxylates where N,N-diethylnicotinamide molecule acts as a bidentate bridging ligand connecting binuclear paddle-wheel units. The variation in DENA coordination in the polymeric chain can be described by the following formula: -[Cu2(ClCH2CO2)4]-(DENA-N,O)- [Cu2(ClCH2CO2)4]-(DENA-O,N)-. All complexes were characterized by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and IR spectroscopy. The present study shows that the pyridine-carboxyamides are very suitable molecules that can be employed as ligands in the construction of extended arrays of transition metal-containing molecules linked via hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Combined pH-metric, UV-Vis, 1H NMR and EPR spectral investigations on the complex formation of M(II) ions (M=Co, Ni, Cu and Zn) with N-(2-benzimidazolyl)methyliminodiacetic acid (H2bzimida, hereafter H2L) in aqueous solution at a fixed ionic strength, I=10−1 mol dm−3, at 25 ± 1 °C indicate the formation of M(L), M(H−1L) and M2(H−1L)+ complexes. Proton-ligand and metal-ligand constants and the complex formation equilibria have been elucidated. Solid complexes, [M(L)(H2O)2] · nH2O (n=1 for M = Co and Zn, n=2 for M = Ni) and {Cu (μ-L) · 4H2O}n, have been isolated and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral, conductance and magnetic measurements and thermal studies. Structures of [Ni(L)(H2O)2] · 2H2O and {Cu(μ-L) · 4H2O}n have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The nickel(II) complex exists in a distorted octahedral environment in which the metal ion is coordinated by the two carboxylate O atoms, the amino-N atom of the iminodiacetate moiety and the pyridine type N-atom of the benzimidazole moiety. Two aqua O atoms function as fifth and sixth donor atoms. The copper(II) complex is made up of interpenetrating polymeric chains of antiferromagnetically coupled Cu(II) ions linked by carboxylato bridges in syn-anti (apical-equatorial) bonding mode and stabilized via interchain hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interactions.  相似文献

An asymmetric single EO azido bridged dinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu2(dmterpy)2(μ-1,1-N3)(N3)2] · NO3 · (H2O)21 [dmterpy = 5,5″-dimethyl-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine], and a double EO azido bridged dinuclear nickel(II) complex, [Ni2(pbdiim)4(μ-1,1-N3)2] · 2(N3) · 6(H2O) 2 [pbdiim = 2-(2′-pyridyl)benzo[1,2-d:4,5-d′]diimidazole], have been synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. Compound 1 consists of a single EO azido bridged CuII dimer in which each CuII ion is five-coordinated in the form of a distorted square-based pyramid. The N(μ−1,1) atom holds on the apical position of one CuII pyramid with an elongated bond length of 2.305 Å and on the basal plane of another distorted CuII pyramid with a bond length of 1.991 Å. The Cu-N(μ−1,1)-Cu angle is 117.4 (2)°. The copper(II) dimer forms a 1 D zig-zag chain via hydrogen bondings between azide ions, water molecules and the nitrate anion. Compound 2 consists of a double EO azido bridged NiII dimer with the Ni-N(μ−1,1)-Ni bond angle of 102.96 (13)°. The coordination geometry of NiII is octahedral. Their magnetic properties have been measured in the range from 300 to 2 K and correlated with the molecular structures. Compound 1 shows weak ferromagnetic interactions within the copper(II) dimer (J = 2.88 cm−1), despite the large EO azide bridge angle (117.4 (2)°). The intramolecular coupling between the NiII (S = 1) ions in compound 2 was found to be ferromagnetic (J = 27.87 cm−1).  相似文献

Reaction of 3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylic acid with copper salt under the hydrothermal condition affords a self-assembly tetranuclear copper(II) cluster based upon mixed ligands formulated as [Cu44-Pzdc)4(Im)4]·4Dma·9H2O (1) (H3Pzdc = 3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylic acid, Im = imidazole, Dma = dimethylamine), in which the four copper(II) atoms are connected into a novel Cu4N8 metallonitrogen U-like open core through eight pyrazoledicarboxylate N atoms, and the tetranuclear clusters were further interlinked through strong hydrogen bonding interactions, resulting in three-dimensional lattice supramolecular networks. The magnetic susceptibility investigation indicates that overall weak antiferro-magnetic coupling between Cu(II) cations occurs through the pyrazole-dicarboxylate bridge (J = −13.49 cm−1).  相似文献

Two tetranuclear copper(II) complexes with long rigid Schiff-base ligands [Cu4(bmsbd)2]·2DMF [H2bmsbd = N,N′-bis-(3-methoxy-salicylidene)benzene-1,4-diamine] (1) and [Cu4(besbd)2]·DMF·5H2O [H2besbd = N,N′-bis-(3-methoxy-salicylidene)benzene-1,4-diamine] (2) have been synthesised and characterized. Single X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that both complexes exhibit interesting [2 × 2] molecular grid-like configuration assembled by four organic ligands in a head-to-tail mode to bind four copper(II) ions. Magnetic property investigations reveal weak antiferromagnetic interaction viaσ-bond pathway of long rigid Schiff-base ligand between the neighboring copper(II) ions in both complexes.  相似文献

The hydrothermal reaction of Cu(NO3)2 · 3H2O, Cu(ClO4)2 · 6H2O, or CdSO4 · 8/3H2O with benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (H3btc) and 1,2-bis(1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)ethane (btre) produced the mixed-ligand coordination polymers and networks (MOFs) 1{[Cu(H2btc)2(μ-btre)]} (1), 3{[Cu45-btc)23-OH)24-btre)] · 2H2O} (2), and 3{[Cd36-btc)24-btre)] · H2O} (3). The centrosymmetric tetranuclear, chair-shaped or stepped-cubane Cu4O4 metal building unit in 2 has three different Cu contacts, each involving more than one bridging group. A quasi-butterfly magnetostructural model shows dominant antiferromagnetic interactions in this Cu4 unit with three different magnetic exchange pathways with 2J1 = 258, 2J2 = −416, and 2J3 = 484 cm−1 from the magnetic susceptibility measurement between 1.9 and 300 K. For this Cu4O4 unit the Eigenvalues associated with the zero field spin Hamiltonian were calculated by solving the 16 × 16 matrix in order to obtain here the numerical expression for the magnetic susceptibility. The cadmium-btre framework 3, with bridged Cd strands, shows a strong bluish fluorescence at 421 nm upon excitation at 317 nm (not seen in the free btre ligand).  相似文献

A new distorted square planar (two CuN2 planes making an angle of ∼43°) copper(II) complex [Cu(L4)] · 0.5EtOH · 0.5MeOH (1) of a deprotonated tetradentate pyridine amide ligand [H2L4 = N,N′-bis(2-pyridinecarboxamide)-2,2′-biphenyl] has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Absorption and EPR spectroscopic properties have also been studied. The E1/2 values (CuII/CuI redox process) of the title complex along with a selected group of structurally characterized CuN4 pyridine amide complexes with systematically varied structural, electronic/steric, and chelate-ring size effects, imposed by the coordinating ligands, have been determined and the observed trend has been rationalized.  相似文献

The reaction of aqueous solutions of the preformed 1:1 Cu(ClO4)2-polydentate amine with tetrasodium 1,2,4,5-benzene tetracarboxylate (Na4bta) afforded three different types of polynuclear compounds. These include the tetranuclear complexes: [Cu4(Medpt)44-bta)(ClO4)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2·2H2O (1), [Cu4(pmdien)44-bta)(H2O)4](ClO4)4 (2), [Cu4(Mepea)44-bta)(H2O)2](ClO4)4(3), [Cu4(TPA)44-bta)](ClO4)4·10H2O (4) and [Cu4(tepa)44-bta)](ClO4)4·2H2O (5), the di-nuclear: [Cu2(DPA)22-bta)(H2O)2]·4H2O (6), [Cu2(dppa)22-bta)(H2O)2]·4H2O (7) and [Cu2(pmea)22-bta)]·14H2O (8) and the trinuclear complex [Cu3(dppa)33-bta)(H2O)2.25](ClO4)2·6.5H2O (9) where Medpt = 3,3′-diamino-N-methyldipropylamine, pmedien = N,N,N′,N″,N″-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine, Mepea = [2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl]-(2-pyridylmethyl)methylamine, TPA = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine, tepa = tris[2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl)]amine, DPA = di(2-pyridymethyl)amine, dppa = N-propanamide-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine and pmea = bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-[2-(2-pyridylethyl)]amine. The complexes were structurally characterized by elemental analyses, spectroscopic techniques, and by X-ray crystallography for complexes 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 and 9. X-ray structure of the complexes reveal that bta4− is acting as a bridging ligand via its four deprotonated caboxylate groups in 1, 2 and 4, three carboxylate groups in 9 and via two trans-carboxylates in 6 and 7. The complexes exhibit extended supramolecular networks with different dimensionality: 1-D in 2 and 4 due to hydrogen bonds of the type O-H···O, 2-D in 1 and 7, and 3-D network in 6 as a result of hydrogen bonds of the types N-H···O and O-H···O. Magnetic susceptibility measurements showed very weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the CuII ions in 1-5, 7-9 (|J| = 0.02-0.87 cm−1) and weak ferromagnetic coupling for 6 (= 0.08 cm−1).  相似文献

The new mononuclear bis(oxamato) complex [n-Bu4N]2[Cu(obbo)] (1) (obbo=o-benzyl-bis(oxamato)) has been synthesized as a precursor for trinuclear oxamato-bridged transition metal complexes. Starting from 1 the homotrinuclear complexes [Cu3(obbo)(pmdta)2(NO3)](NO3)·CH2Cl2·H2O (2) and [Cu3(obbo)(tmeda)2(NO3)2(dmf)] (3) have been prepared, where pmdta = N,N,N′,N″,N″-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine, tmeda = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine and dmf = dimethylformamide. The crystal structures of 1-3 were solved. The magnetic properties of 2 and 3 were studied by susceptibility measurements versus temperature. For the intramolecular J parameter values of −111 cm−1 (2) and −363 cm−1 (3) were obtained.  相似文献

A trinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu3(2,5-pydc)2(Me5dien)2(BF4)2(H2O)2] · H2O 1, has been constructed from 2,5-pyridine-dicarboxylato bridges (2,5-pydc2−) and N,N,N′,N″,N″-pentamethyl-diethylenetriamine (Me5dien) acting as a blocking ligand. The copper ions, within the centrosymmetric trinuclear cations, are connected by two 2,5-pydc2− bridges, with an intramolecular Cu···Cu separation of 8.432 Å. The central copper ion exhibits an elongated octahedral geometry, with semicoordinated ions, while the terminal ones are pentacoordinated (distorted square-pyramidal geometry). The cryomagnetic investigation of 1 reveals an antiferromagnetic coupling of the copper(II) ions (J = −5.9 cm−1, H = −JSCu1SCu2 − JSCu2SCu1a).  相似文献

The title ligand, N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)methyl-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl)amine, was prepared via a condensation-reduction synthetic route. The compounds, CuCl(C19H19N3O) and [CuBr(C19H19N3O)]+Br · 3H2O, were readily synthesized from the reaction of CuCl or CuBr2 and the ligand in acetonitrile. The title copper(I) compound is an O-H ? Cl hydrogen-bonded linear chain of tetrahedrally coordinated copper centers, and the title copper(II) compound exists as two strongly tetragonally distorted dibromide bridged metal cations in a dimer with the phenol hydroxyl groups weakly bound in a trans-fashion to one of the bridging bromides. In the copper(I) complex the phenoxy group acts only as a hydrogen bond donor, whereas in the copper(II) complex it acts both as a ligand and a hydrogen bond donor.  相似文献

Two new copper(II) complexes of the ligand 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(1,4,7-triazacyclononan-1-ylmethyl)benzene (Ldur) have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray studies. The first, [Cu4Ldur2-OH)4]Cl2(PF6)2 · 8H2O (1), was isolated from a solution of Ldur and Cu2+ at pH 9. Under acidic conditions (pH 3), a polymeric complex, {[Cu4Ldur2-Cl)6](PF6)2 · 10H2O}n (2), crystallized from solution. In both complexes, each of the four triazacyclononane (tacn) rings of the Ldur ligand facially coordinate to separate metal centres. Pairs of Cu(II) centres are then doubly-bridged by hydroxo groups in 1, leading to tetranuclear complex cation units featuring pairs of isolated copper(II) dimers with Cu22-OH)2 cores folded at the O?O lines. Two forms of the tetranuclear units, featuring slightly different Cu22-OH)2 core geometries, are present in equal amounts within the crystal lattice. In complex 2, chloro bridging ligands link pairs of Cu(II) centres from neighbouring tetranuclear units, forming a 1D helical polymeric structure. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements suggest that the hydroxo-bridged copper(II) centres within one of the tetranuclear units in 1 are weakly antiferromagnetically coupled (J = −27 cm−1), whilst those in the other interact ferromagnetically (J = +19 cm−1). Similar measurements indicate weak ferromagnetic coupling (J = +16 cm−1) for the chloro-bridged copper(II) centres in 2.  相似文献

The reactions of Cu(hfac)2 with different N-donor ligands such as 2-ethynylpyridine and imidazole give copper complexes Cu(hfac)2(ethynylpyridine) (1) and Cu(hfac)2(ImH)2 (2), respectively. The reaction of Cu(hfac)2 · (ethynylpyridine) (1) and ethynylpyridine with oxygen in tmeda (tmeda = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine) in the presence of copper(I) chloride gives Cu(hfac)2(tmeda) (3). Finally, [Cu(hfac)2(H2O)]2(μ-TCNE) (4) was prepared by reaction of Cu2O on the free acid β-diketone in the presence of TCNE (TCNE = tetracyanoethylene) (ratio 1.5:1:1), under an atmosphere of oxygen-free Ar. The previously synthesized Cu(hfac)TCNE proceeded further reaction by disproportionation, yielding [Cu(hfac)2(H2O)]2(μ-TCNE). All new compounds have been structurally characterized and their thermal properties were examined by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).  相似文献

The reaction of the new bidirectional ligand 3-phenyl-5-(2-pyridyl)-4-(4-pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole (pyppt) with Cu(ClO4)2 · 6H2O in a 2:1 molar ratio in EtOH affords the complex [CuII(pyppt)2(ClO4)2] · H2O (1) as a microcrystalline turquoise solid. Recrystallisation of complex 1 from MeCN by vapour diffusion of Et2O gives blue crystals of the monomeric octahedral complex [CuII(pyppt)2(ClO4)2] · MeCN (2). In contrast, addition of EtOH to a solution of complex 1 in MeCN followed by slow evaporation yields blue crystals of the five-coordinate polymeric complex {[CuII(pyppt)2](ClO4)2 · EtOH} (3). The structures of both complexes have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献
