Seedlings of alfalfa (Medicago saliva L.) cv. Ranger and cv.Hairy Peruvian were grown under conditions of long day and hightemperatures or short day and low temperatures. Under long daysand high temperatures, both varieties developed an elongatedshoot and exhibited relatively low cold-resistance, as measuredby the extent of leakage of cellular substances, after beingexposed to sub-zero temperature. Under short days and low temperatures,Ranger seedlings developed a rosette growth and exhibited animproved response to sub-zero temperature. In contrast, HairyPeruvian seedlings developed an elongated shoot and did notacquire cold-resistance. Hairy Peruvian grown in a nutrientsolution containing abscisic acid, however, developed a rosetteand acquired an improved response to sub-zero temperature, likecv. Ranger under short days and low temperatures. Addition ofgibberellic acid to Ranger seedlings grown under these conditionsnullified the environmental effects, since they developed anelongated shoot and did not acquire cold-resistance. It is concludedthat abscisic acid and gibberellic acid are involved in theinterrelationship between morphogenesis and cold-resistancein the seedlings of the two alfalfa cultivars. 相似文献

采用营养液水培,研究了根际低氧胁迫下外源亚精胺对两个抗低氧能力不同的黄瓜(Cucumis sativus)品种(‘中农8号’和‘绿霸春4号’)根系中多胺含量和超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化物酶(POD)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)活性的影响。结果表明,外源亚精胺能显著提高低氧胁迫下黄瓜幼苗根系中亚精胺和精胺含量,降低腐胺含量,同时,根系中SOD、POD、CAT活性也相应提高,使得幼苗鲜重和干重明显增加;单纯低氧处理及外源亚精胺的加入,抗低氧能力较强的品种‘绿霸春4号’较抗低氧能力较弱的品种‘中农8号’根系中抗氧化酶活性高。黄瓜幼苗根系中较高的亚精胺、精胺含量和较低的腐胺含量可能有利于提高抗氧化酶活性,增强幼苗的低氧逆境适应能力。 相似文献

EFFECT OF GIBBERELLIC ACID ON ELONGATION AND NUCLEIC ACID SYNTHESIS IN ETIOLATED ALASKA PEA EPICOTYL

The following results were obtained using etiolated Alaska pea epicotyls. Gibberellic acid (GA) had the remarkable effect on the elongation in part I (elongating region) of epicotyls, whereas it had little effect on that in part II (mature region) of epicotyls. In cortex of part I and II of epicotyls, the cell number in longitudinal direction was hardly affected by GA. On the increase in width of epicotyls, GA was hardly effective in any parts of epicotyls. In both part I and II GA enhanced the incorporation of 32P into all nucleic acid fractions prepared by methylated albumin kieselguhr (MAK) columns, i.e. sRNA, DNA and rRNA + mRNA. In part I the net increase in DNA and RNA content during the incubation period was slightly promoted by GA, whereas in part II the net decrease in both nucleic acids content was slightly promoted by GA. The relationship between GA-induced growth and nucleic acid synthesis is discussed. 相似文献

THE EFFECT OF GIBBERELLIC ACID ON LEAF AREA AND DRY-MATTER PRODUCTION IN MAJESTIC POTATO 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
When gibberellic acid (50 p.p.m. in aqueous solution) was sprayed twice or six times at weekly intervals on potato plants (var. Majestic) with a low or high nitrogen supply it did not affect rate of leaf production on the main axis, but caused earlier senescence of leaves, especially with the more frequent spraying, and inhibited leaf production and growth on laterals of the high-nitrogen plants at nodes 10 and 11 but not at other nodes. This central region of the stem appears to have a low growth potential, probably because it lies midway between two zones of active growth, viz. the basal branches and the younger leaves on the main stem. Competition between these is increased by gibberellic acid. Gibberellic acid increased leaf area even when lack of nitrogen was restricting growth but this did not produce extra dry matter. Tuber weight was increased more in high-nitrogen plants by two sprayings than by six sprayings. The net assimilation rate of low-nitrogen plants was halved by spraying but was not changed in high-nitrogen plants where the value was similar to that of low-nitrogen control plants. The high-nitrogen plants had absorbed nearly all the available nitrogen between the second and third harvests, but plants treated with gibberellic acid, nevertheless, had more total dry weight and tuber dry weight than the controls. The nitrogen content of the leaves expressed on an area basis was lower in sprayed plants and, with continued spraying, fell at the third harvest to equal that of low-nitrogen plants. Evidently, the effect of gibberellic acid depended on the interaction between the rate of application and the nitrogen supply, but further work is necessary to define the conditions that give the maximal effect on dry-matter production. 相似文献

Plants of Lemna minor L. were grown in axenic culture in order to investigate the direct effect of abscisic acid (ABA) on individual fronds and roots. Both frond and root growth rates were inhibited by 60%, and total growth of both organs was reduced by 30% with ABA concentrations of 2 mg/l. Abscisic acid inhibited frond reproduction, and treated fronds tended to remain attached to parents. Reduction of root elongation and frond expansion occurred within 1–4 hr. Prolonged exposure to ABA inhibited both cell enlargement and cell division in the roots. The results are discussed in the light of current views on the control of growth with endogenous levels of promoter and inhibitor hormones. 相似文献

The effects of water stress, abscisic acid (ABA), and gibberellic acid (GA3) on flower production and differentiation by Collomia grandiflora were investigated. An untreated plant typically produced both small, closed cleistogamous (CL) and large, open chasmogamous (CH) flowers. The larger corolla of CH flowers was due to a greater cell number and size. When plants were water-stressed or sprayed with ABA, both the percentage of CH flowers and the total number of flowers were reduced significantly. The corolla dimensions and epidermal cell numbers and sizes of CL flowers produced by water-stressed and ABA-sprayed plants did not differ from those of CL flowers produced by control plants. Application of GA3 to both well-watered and water-stressed plants significantly increased the percentage of CH flowers formed compared to well-watered controls. In the absence of GA3, water-stressed plants produced almost entirely CL flowers. GA3-sprayed plants produced CH flowers whose corolla dimensions were intermediate between those of CL and CH flowers formed by control plants. Epidermal cells of these intermediate corollas were reduced only in number and not in size when compared to control CH flowers. Endogenous levels of ABA and gibberellins may control the type of flower produced by C. grandiflora and may mediate some of the observable effects of water stress on flowering. 相似文献

水稻(Oryza sativa L.)和黄瓜(Cucum ism elo L.)幼苗在昼夜温度为15 ℃/10 ℃、白天光照12 h,光强为250 μm ol·m - 2·s- 1的条件下锻炼3 d,明显地提高幼苗叶片中膜保护酶——超氧物歧化酶(SOD)、谷胱甘肽还原酶(GR)活性和内源抗氧化剂——还原型谷胱甘肽(GSH)、抗坏血酸(AsA)的含量。经冷锻炼和未锻炼的幼苗移置4 ℃、光强为250 μm ol·m - 2·s- 1下胁迫处理2 d,未锻炼苗叶片中SOD、GR 活性和GSH、AsA 含量明显下降,而经冷锻炼的苗则相对比较稳定。从脂质过氧化产物——丙二醛(MDA)含量及幼苗的存活率亦看出:冷锻炼苗具有较低的脂质过氧化水平和较高的幼苗存活率。由此认为:冷锻炼能提高水稻和黄瓜幼苗细胞膜的稳定性,从而增强了耐低温光胁迫的能力 相似文献

高压静电场(HVEF)对苜蓿叶片愈伤组织诱导的影响 总被引:13,自引:3,他引:13
用一定强度的负高压静电场处理苜蓿叶片外值体,可显著促进外植体愈伤组织的发生和形成。处理组叶片愈伤化进程比对照组提前二天,愈伤组织诱导率平均提高了36%,愈伤组织鲜重增长率提高了33%,而且形成的愈伤组织质量较高。生理生化分析显示:静电场处理使愈伤组织诱导过程中培养物的可溶性蛋白质含量较对照高,且峰值来临较早;过氧化物酶(POD),淀粉酶(Amylase简称AML),超氧物歧化酶(SOD)活性和峰值也较对照组有不同程度的提高和提前,与观察结果一致。本文对其作用机理做了初步探讨。 相似文献

The kinetics of extension induced by GA31 in the hypocotyl ofintact seedlings of Lactuca sativa are similar in the dark andin the light, and differs fundamentally from the kinetics ofelongation in the dark without GA3. Both in continuous lightand in the dark, GA3-induced promotion starts 24 h after incubation.In the dark, even low concentrations of GA3, which do not affectthe length measured after 6 d when the extension of hypocotylalmost ceases, remove the lag period of 48 h which precedesextension, and prolong the high rate of elongation. FollowingGA3 supply the hypocotyl length in the dark and in the lightdoes not differ until 48 h; thereafter the rate of elongationin the light is less, so that the final length of the hypocotylis 40 per cent shorter than that of the dark-grown seedlingswithout GA3. IAA supplied apically to light-grown seedlings induces a weakpromotion at a concentration of 1 mg l1 only. With anincreasing concentration of GA3 supplied simultaneously, theconcentration of IAA inducing a significant promotion decreases.A combined supply of both these regulators, however, does notrestore the light-mediated inhibition of hypocotyl elongationcompletely. The maximum decrease in hypocotyl length induced by the growthretardants AMO-1618, CCC, and B-9 supplied from the beginningin the dark does not exceed 70 per cent. Saturating doses ofGA3 supplied in combination with any one of the retardants compensateonly a fraction of the decrease.
