A new phenoxo-bridged binuclear manganese(III) Schiff base complex, [Mn(L)(N3)]2 (1) where L = N,N′-bis(salicylidene)-1,2-propanediamine has been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, crystal structure analysis and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. The single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the structure is dimeric with each phenolate oxygen atom acting as a bridge between two symmetry equivalent Mn atoms. Low temperature magnetic study shows that the complex exhibits intra-dimer ferromagnetic exchange and single-molecule-magnet (SMM) behavior as well.  相似文献

A polydentate hydroxy-rich Schiff base ligand, derived from the condensation of 3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2-ethanolamine, namely 3,5-dibromo- salicylidene-2-ethanolamine (H2L), reacts with Mn(ClO4)2, NaO2CPiv and NaOCH3 to give a novel hexanuclear complex [NaIMnIII5(μ3-O2−)(μ4-O2−)L4(O2CPiv)3)(ClO4)]·1.5CH3OH·0.25H2O (1). The complex has been characterized by IR, elemental analyses, crystal structural analyses, and magnetic studies. The core in complex 1 features one μ3-O2− atom, one μ4-O2− atom, four L2− ligands, three PivCO2 groups together with a ClO4 ion bridging five MnIII atoms and a NaI atom to form a distorted cubane extended at one face by an incomplete adamantane unit, which is an unprecedented structural type in Mn chemistry. The variable-temperature solid-state dc magnetic susceptibility studies in the 2-300 K range for complex 1 reveal the presence of overall antiferromagnetic intracluster interactions.  相似文献

A series of carboxylate-bridged manganese(III) complexes derived from Schiff bases obtained by the condensation of salicylaldehyde or 5-bromo-salicylaldehyde and different types of diamine have been synthesized and characterized and, in the case of [Mn2(L1)2(μ-ClCH2COO)](ClO4) (1), the structure has been obtained by X-ray crystallography. The structure of 1 consists of two manganese atoms separated by 5.487(3) Å and bridged by a carboxylate anion. This dinuclear structural unit is linked by bridging phenoxy oxygens to adjacent dinuclear units to produce a one-dimensional chain. Cyclic voltammograms of all the compounds exhibit grossly similar features consisting of a reversible or quasi-reversible MnIII/MnII reduction and a MnIII/MnIV oxidation. It has been observed that bromo-substitution stabilizes the lower oxidation state in the MnIII/MnII couple and destabilizes the higher oxidation state in the MnIII/MnIV couple. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements of 1 show a weak antiferromagnetic interaction. The magnetic behavior is satisfactorily modeled by inclusion of zero-field splitting and an intermolecular interaction component.  相似文献

Preparation, crystal structures and magnetic properties of new heterodinuclear CuIIGdIII (1) and CuIITbIII (2) complexes [CuLn(L)(NO3)2(H2O)3MeOH]NO3·MeOH (where Ln = Gd, Tb) with the hexadentate Schiff-base compartmental ligand N,N′-bis(5-bromo-3-methoxysalicylidene)propylene-1,3-diamine (H2L = C19H20N2O4Br2) (0) have been described. Crystal structure analysis of 1 and 2 revealed that they are isostructural and form discrete dinuclear units with dihedral angle between the O1Cu1O2 and O1Gd1/Tb1O2 planes equal to 2.5(1)° and 2.6(1)°, respectively. The variable-temperature and variable-field magnetic measurements indicate that the metal centers in 1 and 2 are ferromagnetically coupled (J = 7.89 cm−1 for 1). Crystal and molecular structure of the Schiff base ligand (0) has been also reported. The complex formation changes the conformation of Schiff base ligand molecule.  相似文献

A new complex of zinc with a Schiff base, zinc(N,N′-bis(salicylidene)-3, 6-dioxa-1, 8-diaminooctane monohydrate) (ZnBSO · H2O), was synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analyses, IR spectra and DTA-TG. Its structure was determined by X-ray single crystal analysis. It was demonstrated that the zinc atom is coordinated by the two oxygen atoms in phenolate and two nitrogen atoms in imine of the ligand in a slightly distorted tetrahedral geometry, while the two oxygen atoms from the oxa-alkyl chain are not coordinated to Zn(II) atom. The energy levels of the HOMO, LUMO and the electrochemical band gap were determined by cyclic voltammeter. The electroluminescent devices with the complex as the emitter showed bright blue emission with a peak at 450 nm, which is same as the fluorescence of the complex in both solution and solid states.  相似文献

Five dissymmetric tridentate Schiff base ligands, containing a mixed donor set of ONN and ONO were prepared by the reaction of benzhydrazide with the appropriate salicylaldehyde and pyridine-2-carbaldehyde and characterized by FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR. The complexes of these ligands were synthesized by treating an ethanolic solution of the appropriate ligand and one equivalent Et3N with an equimolar amount of MnCl2 · 4H2O or alternatively by a more direct route in which an ethanolic solution of benzhydrazide was added to ethanolic solution of appropriate salicylaldehyde and MnCl2 · 4H2O solution to yield [MnCl(L1)(H2O)2], [Mn(L2)2(H2O)2], [MnCl(L3)], [MnCl(L4)] and [MnCl2(H2O)(L5)]. The hydrazone Schiff base ligands and their manganese complexes including HL1-4 and L5 (HL1 = benzoic acid (2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide, HL2 = benzoic acid (2,3-dihydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide, HL3 = benzoic acid (2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide, HL4 = benzoic acid (5-bromo-2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-hydrazide, L5 = benzoic acid pyridine-2-yl methylene-hydrazide) were characterized on the basis of their FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR, and molar conductivity. The crystal structures of HL1 and [MnCl2(H2O)L5] have been determined. The results suggest that the Schiff bases HL1, HL2, HL3, and HL4 coordinate as univalent anions with their tridentate O,N,O donors derived from the carbonyl and phenolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen. L5 is a neutral tridentate Schiff base with N,N,O donors. ESI-MS for the complexes Mn-L2,3,5 provided evidence for the presence of multinuclear complexes in solution. Catalytic ability of Mn-L1-5 complexes were examined and found that highly selective epoxidation (>95%) of cyclohexene was performed by iodosylbenzene in the presence of these complexes and imidazole in acetonitrile.  相似文献

The Schiff base ligands, N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyacetophenone)-1,2-diaminoethane (acphenH2) and N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyacetophenone)-1,3-diaminopropane (acphpnH2), prepared in situ were used to synthesise two new Mn(III) complexes which were characterised by crystallography and variable temperature magnetic measurements. [Mn(acphen)NCS]2 is a phenoxo-bridged dimeric compound with the thiocyanate coordinating in the usual bent mode (Mn-N-C angle, 152°) and is weakly antiferromagnetic. Since there are no significant inter-dimer contacts in the crystal, the low temperature magnetic behaviour is influenced by single ion zero-field splitting. Exact diagonalisation of the spin Hamiltonian was performed to derive the following parameters: J = −0.7 cm−1, D = −0.6 cm−1. Mn(acphpn)(H2O)NCS is monomeric with an unusual linearly coordinated thiocyanate (Mn-N-C angle, 178°). Two lattice water molecules link the Mn(III) complex molecules through hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional chains in the crystal. Magnetic exchange along the chain makes this compound also weakly antiferromagnetic with J ∼ -2 cm−1.  相似文献

A new tetranuclear Cu(II) compound [Cu4(HL)2(L)2(ClO4)2] (1) was synthesized from the reaction of Cu(ClO4)2 · 6H2O with Schiff base ligand (H2L) condensed from ethanolamine with 2-hydroxyacetophenone. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that 1 is formed from the self-assembly of two dinuclear units [Cu2(HL)(L)(ClO4)] through the doubly phenoxo bridging. The variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements were performed between 300 K and 2 K and show χMT value for 1 at 300 K is 1.395 cm3 mol−1 K and fall to 0.0459 cm3 mol−1 K at 2 K. These values are smaller than that expected for tetranuclear copper (II) units, indicating antiferromagnetic coupling present in the compound. This result is also confirmed from the DFT calculations.  相似文献

Two copper(II) complexes, [Cu(qsal)Cl](DMF) (1) and [Cu2(qsalBr)2Cl2](DMF) (2), with tridentate Schiff base ligands, 8-(salicylideneamino)quinoline (Hqsal) and 8-(5-bromo-salicylideneamino)quinoline (HqsalBr), respectively, were synthesised and structurally characterized. Each copper(II) ion in the two complexes is in a distorted square pyramidal N2OCl2 environment. Complex 1 exists as a polymeric species via equatorial-apical chloride bridges, whereas 2 is a di-chlorido-bridged dinuclear complex, where each bridging chloride simultaneously occupies an in-plane coordination site on one copper(II) ion and an apical site on the other copper(II) ion. Variable-temperature magnetical susceptibility measurements on the two complexes in the temperature range 2-300 K indicate the occurrence of intrachain ferromagnetic (J = +6.58 cm−1) and intramolecular antiferromagnetical (J = −6.91 cm−1) interactions.  相似文献

One new binuclear Co(II) complex of N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)-2-hydroxyl-1,3-diaminopropane (HL), [Co(2)L(mu(2)-Cl)](ClO(4))(2) x 3CH(3)CN x C(2)H(5)OC(2)H(5) (1), has been synthesized and its crystal structure and magnetic properties are shown. In 1, each Co(II) atom has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry with a N(3)OCl donor set. The central two Co(II) atoms are bridged by one alkoxo-O atom and one Cl atom with the Co1-Co2 separation of 3.239 A. Susceptibility data of 1 indicate strong intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling of the high-spin Co(II) atoms. In this paper, the interaction with calf thymus DNA was investigated by UV absorption and fluorescent spectroscopy. Results show the complex binds to ct-DNA with a intercalative mode. The interaction between complex 1 and pBR322 DNA has also been investigated by submarine gel electrophoresis, noticeably, the complex exhibits effective DNA cleavage activity in the absence of any external agents.  相似文献

A new one-dimensional manganese(III) Schiff-base complex [Mn(III)(salophen) (MeOTCNQ)] · CH3CN 1 (salophen = N,N′-bis(salicylidene)phenylenediamine) bridged by 7-methoxy-7,7,8,8-tetra-cyano-p-quinodimethane (MeOTCNQ), has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography and magnetic studies. Crystal structure study reveals that complex 1 has a 1D manganese(III) chain bridged by MeOTCNQ ligand which was obtained unexpectedly from tetracyano-p-quinodimethane (TCNQ) reacting with methanol. Noticeably, MeOTCNQ molecules in complex 1 adopt an unusual cis-syn coordination mode. The analysis of magnetic data indicates that a weak intrachain antiferromagnetic interaction exists in complex 1.  相似文献

The 1:1 condensation of 1,2-diaminopropane and 1-phenylbutane-1,3-dione at high dilution gives a mixture of two positional isomers of terdentate mono-condensed Schiff bases 6-amino-3-methyl-1-phenyl-4-aza-2-hepten-1-one (HAMPAH) and 6-amino-3,5-dimethyl-1-phenyl-4-aza-2-hexen-1-one (HADPAH). The mixture of the terdentate ligands has been used for further condensation with pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde or 2-acetylpyridine to obtain the unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base ligands. The tetradentate Schiff bases are then allowed to react with the methanol solution of copper(II) and nickel(II) perchlorate separately. The X-ray diffraction confirms the structures of two of the complexes and shows that the condensation site of the diamine with 1-phenylbutane-1,3-dione is the same.  相似文献

The synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of manganese(III) binuclear complexes [MnIII2(L-3Н)2(CH3ОH)4]·2CH3ОH (1) and [MnIII2(L-3Н)2(Py)4]·2Py (2) (L = 3-[(1E)-N-hydroxyethanimidoyl]-4-methyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid) are reported. The ligand contains two distinct donor compartments formed by the pyrazolate-N and the oxime or the carboxylic groups. The complexes were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, revealing that both 1 and 2 consist of dinuclear units in which the two metal ions are linked by double pyrazolate bridges with a planar {Mn2N4} core. Cryomagnetic measurements show antiferromagnetic interaction with g = 1.99, J = −3.6 cm−1, Θ = −2.02 K for 1 and g = 2.00, J = −3.7 cm−1, Θ = 1.43 K for 2.  相似文献

A mononuclear octahedral nickel(II) complex [Ni(HL1)2](SCN)2 (1) and an unusual penta-nuclear complex [{(NiL2)(μ-SCN)}4Ni(NCS)2]·2CH3CN (2) where HL1 = 3-(2-aminoethylimino)butan-2-one oxime and HL2 = 3-(hydroxyimino)butan-2-ylidene)amino)propylimino)butan-2-one oxime have been prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The mono-condensed ligand, HL1, was prepared by the 1:1 condensation of the 1,2-diaminoethane with diacetylmonoxime in methanol under high dilution. Complex 1 is found to be a mer isomer and the amine hydrogen atoms are involved in extensive hydrogen bonding with the thiocyanate anions. The dicondensed ligand, HL2, was prepared by the 1:2 condensation of the 1,3-diaminopropane with diacetylmonoxime in methanol. The central nickel(II) in 2 is coordinated by six nitrogen atoms of six thiocyanate groups, four of which utilize their sulphur atoms to connect four NiL2 moieties to form a penta-nuclear complex and it is unique in the sense that this is the first thiocyanato bridged penta-nuclear nickel(II) compound with Schiff base ligands.  相似文献

A new mononuclear Cu(II) complex, [CuL(ClO4)2] (1) has been derived from symmetrical tetradentate di-Schiff base, N,N′-bis-(1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylidene)-propane-1,3-diamine (L) and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The copper atom assumes a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry with two perchlorate oxygens coordinated very weakly in the axial positions.Reactions of 1 with sodium azide, ammonium thiocyanate or sodium nitrite solution yielded compounds [CuL(N3)]ClO4 (2), [CuL(SCN)]ClO4 (3) or [CuL(NO2)]ClO4 (4), respectively, all of which have been characterized by X-ray analysis. The geometries of the penta-coordinated copper(II) in complexes 2-4 are intermediate between square pyramid and trigonal bipyramid (tbp) having the Addition parameters (τ) 0.47, 0.45 and 0.58, respectively. In complex 4, the nitrite ion is coordinated as a chelating ligand and essentially both the O atoms of the nitrite occupy one axial site.Complex 1 shows distinct preference for the anion in the order in forming the complexes 2-4 when treated with a mixture. A series of new cobalt(III) complexes were prepared. They are [CoL1(py)3]·NO3 (1), [CoL2(bipy)(N3)]·CH3OH (2), [CoL3(HL3)(N3)]·NO3 (3), and [CoL4(MeOH)(N3)] (4), where L1, L2, L3 and L4 are the deprotonated form of N′-(2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzylidene)-3-methylbenzohydrazide, N′-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-3-hydroxylbenzohydrazide, 2-[(2-dimethylaminoethylimino)methyl]-4-methylphenol, and N,N′-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine, respectively, py is pyridine, and bipy is 2,2′-bipyridine. The complexes were characterized by infrared and UV–Vis spectra, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The Co atoms in the complexes are in octahedral coordination. Complexes 1 and 4 show effective urease inhibitory activities, with IC50 values of 4.27 and 0.35 μmol L−1, respectively. Complex 2 has medium activity against urease, with IC50 value of 68.7 μmol L−1. While complex 3 has no activity against urease. Molecular docking study of the complexes with Helicobacter pylori urease was performed.  相似文献

The preparation and variable temperature-magnetic investigation of three squarate-containing complexes of formula [Fe2(OH)2(C4O4)2(H2O)4]·2H2O (1) [Cr2(OH)2(C4O4)2(H2O)4]·2H2O (2) and [Co(C4O4)(H2O)4]n (3) [H2C4O4 = 3.4-dihydroxycyclobutene-1,2-dione (squaric acid)] together with the crystal structures of 1 and 3 are reported. Complex 1 contains discrete centrosymmetric [Fe2(OH)2(C4O4)2(H2O)4] diiron(II) units where the iron pairs are joined by a di-μ-hydroxo bridge and two squarate ligands acting as bridging groups through adjacent oxygen atoms. Two coordinated water molecules in cis position complete the octahedral environment at each iron atom in 1. The iron-iron distance with the dinuclear unit is 3.0722(6) Å and the angle at the hydroxo bridge is 99.99(7)°, values which compare well with the corresponding ones in the isostructural compound 2 (2.998 Å and 99.47°) whose structure was reported previously. The crystal structure of 3 contains neutral chains of squarato-O1,O3-bridged cobalt(II) ions where four coordinated water molecules complete the six-coordination at each cobalt atom. The cobalt-cobalt separation across the squarate bridge is 8.0595(4) Å. A relatively important intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling occurs in 1 whereas it is very weak in 2, the exchange pathway being the same [J = −14.4 (1) and −0.07 cm−1 (2), the spin Hamiltonian being defined as ]. A weak intrachain antiferromagnetic interaction between the high-spin cobalt(II) ions occurs in 3 (J = −0.30 cm−1). The magnitude and nature of these magnetic interactions are discussed in the light of their respective structures and they are compared with those reported for related systems.  相似文献

Two new binuclear copper complexes, [Cu2(oxpn)(bpy)(pic)(H2O)](pic) (1) and [Cu2(oxpn)(Me2bpy)(pic)](pic) (2) [H2oxpn = N,N′-bis(3-aminopropyl)oxamide; Hpic = 2,4,6-trinitrophenol; bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; Me2bpy = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, IR, UV-visible spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray analyses. Both complexes have similar molecular structures. In complex 1, the central two Cu(II) atoms are bridged by cis-oxpn2− with the Cu1-Cu2 separation of 5.221 Å and the polyhedron of each copper atom is a square-pyramid. Similarly, complex 2 is a cis-oxpn2−-bridged binuclear complex with the Cu1-Cu2 separation of 5.196 Å. Cu1(II) central atom situated in a tetrahedral geometry is four-coordinated and Cu(II) atom situated in a square-pyramidal geometry is five-coordinated. Hydrogen bonding interactions and π-π stacking interactions link the binuclear copper complex 1 or 2 into a 2D infinite network. The antibacterial assays indicate that the two complexes showed better activities than their ligands. The interactions of the two binuclear complexes with herring sperm DNA (HS-DNA) have been studied by UV absorption titration, fluorescence titration and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that the two binuclear complexes bind to HS-DNA via an intercalative mode.  相似文献

The compound 4 has a dimeric structure and the central tin atom is rendered seven-coordinate in a distorted pentagonal-bipyramid configuration. While the compound 8 is a monomer in which the tin atom adopts five-coordinated in distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry.  相似文献

The unusual dinucleating properties of a simple bidentate Schiff base (LH, 1) in the presence of weakly coordinating methanol solvent lead to the self-assembly of (2) (b and t refer to bridging and terminally bound ligands, respectively). Complex 2 is the first diiron(II) species in which the two metal centers are triply bridged by single atoms in an asymmetric fashion, involving both μ-OPh and μ-OHMe bridges. This binding mode produces an Fe?Fe distance of 3.139(1) Å. Dinucleation appears to be driven by a combination of ligand deficiency and solvent-mediated chemistry reminiscent of host-guest interactions. The presence of a μ-MeOH ligand is unprecedented in iron chemistry. Parallel-mode EPR spectra of complex 2 recorded at 4 K show an intense negative signal at g≈16, suggesting the dimeric form exists in solution.  相似文献
