The diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella (L.), is a globally destructive pest of cruciferous vegetables. Excessive use of synthetic pesticides to control this species results in negative effects on the environment, human health, and nontargeted organisms. The essential oils (EOs) derived from plants may be developed as effective alternatives to conventional pesticides. In this study, thirteen EOs were extracted by hydrodistillation, respectively. Their chemical compositions were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Furthermore, the biological activities of EOs such as toxicity, antifeedant activity, and growth inhibition effect, toward DBM larvae were investigated. Against DBM second-instar larvae, the most toxic EO was Pelargonium graveolens (LC50 = 0.36 μg/μl) after 72 hr of exposure, followed by Polygonum hydropiper (LC50 = 0.53 μg/μl). The Ocimum basilicum EO exhibited the highest antifeedant effect to third-instar larvae at at all set concentrations. At 15 μg/μl, the EOs of Acorus calamus, O. basilicum, and P. graveolens completely inhibited the feeding activities of larvae (100%). The Ruta graveolens EO showed the lowest relative growth rate and the highest growth inhibition rate towards third-instar larvae at diverse concentrations. And the EOs of P. hydropiper, A. calamus, and O. basilicum showed promising growth inhibition activities. Overall, the five EOs (P. graveolens, O. basilicum, R. graveolens, P. hydropiper, and A. calamus) showed moderate to high bioactivity, whereas eight EOs were found to be less active against DBM larvae. These results indicate that the five tested EOs are promising to be developed as novel botanical insecticides to control DBM population. 相似文献

目的 体外评价甘草提取物对牙龈卟啉单胞菌、中间普氏菌、具核梭杆菌和伴放线放线杆菌四种牙周常见致病菌的抑制效果。方法 以牙龈卟啉单胞菌、中间普氏菌、具核梭杆菌和伴放线放线杆菌四种牙周常见致病菌作为供试菌,采用液体稀释法,考察甘草提取物对这四种细菌的最小抑菌浓度(MIC)和最小杀菌浓度(MBC);并采用不同浓度的甘草提取物溶液,绘制甘草提取物对四种牙周致病菌的时间‒杀菌曲线。结果 甘草提取物对牙龈卟啉单胞菌、中间普氏菌、具核梭杆菌和伴放线放线杆菌的MIC值分别为1.50、1.50、0.75和1.50 mg/mL,MBC值分别为6、3、3和3 mg/mL。当甘草提取物达到对四种细菌的MBC值时,对于牙龈卟啉单胞菌、中间普氏菌、伴放线放线杆菌可在2 h后可达到杀菌效果,对于具核梭杆菌可在4 h后达到杀菌效果。结论 甘草提取物对以上四种牙周常见致病菌具有良好的抑菌及杀菌作用。 相似文献

The oil obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of Artemisia incana (L.) Druce from Turkey was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Sixty‐three compounds were characterized, representing 97.2% of the total components detected, and camphor (19.0%), borneol (18.9%), 1,8‐cineole (14.5%), bornyl acetate (7.8%), camphene (4.9%), and α‐thujone (4.8%) were identified as predominant components. The essential oil was also tested for its antimicrobial activity against 44 different foodborne microorganisms, including 26 bacteria, 15 fungi, and 3 yeast species. The essential oil of A. incana exhibited considerable inhibitory effects against all bacteria, fungi, and yeast species tested. However, the oil showed lower inhibitory activity against the tested bacteria than the reference antibiotics. 相似文献

目的:了解我院5年来耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)对万古霉素敏感性的变化,为临床治疗和控制该类感染提供依据方法:采用以肉汤稀释法测定近5年耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)临床分离株对万古霉素的最低抑菌浓度(MIC),按NC-CLS/CLSI2010年标准判定结果,WHONET5.5软件进行数据分析。结果:MRSA检出率从2005年的19.23%上升到2009年的42.14%,万古霉素的M IC几何均数从0.54μg/ml上升到1.21μg/ml,未检出万古霉素、替考拉宁耐药株,但2007年有2株,2008年、2009年各有1株菌株对替考拉宁呈中介,抑菌圈直径依次为12 mm、12 mm、13 mm、12 mm,MIC值均为16.0μg/ml。结论:MRSA检出率逐年上升,MRSA对万古霉素MIC值有升高的趋势,加强金黄色葡萄球菌对万古霉素敏感性的监测非常必要。 相似文献

红谷霉素是链霉菌702发酵后所产的一种生物活性物质,具有较强抗细菌活性。研究表明,红谷霉素对大肠杆菌的最低抑菌浓度为40mg/L,对枯草芽胞杆菌的最低抑菌浓度为0.08mg/L。红谷霉素在微生物生长迟滞期添加比在其它生长阶段添加抑菌效果更好,红谷霉素对热和紫外比较稳定。通过与其他防腐剂的抑菌效果比较表明,红谷霉素对细菌的抑菌效果优于比较的防腐剂。 相似文献

Natural additives are in demand for the control of microbial growth in foods. Several natural compounds including essential oils (EOs) are being explored for food uses. In the present investigation, the antifungal activity of cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, peppermint and clove EOs and their combinations was evaluated against 12 species of Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium and Rhizopus in in vitro and tomato fruit system (in-vivo). The EOs were able to inhibit complete growth of tested fungi at or below 0.6% level and 80?μL of EOs (except peppermint oil) in in vitro condition and tomato system, respectively. The fractional inhibitory studies showed either additive or indifferent effect by combining eugenol and peppermint, and indifferent or antagonist effect by combining the cinnamaldehyde and clove in both in vitro and in vivo studies. The findings may be useful for application of these EOs in foods, but their effects on organoleptic quality of foods need to be investigated. 相似文献

Essential oil (EO) properties of six L. angustifolia (LA) and two L. x intermedia (LI) cultivars were evaluated during summer harvest periods of 2017 and 2018, The cultivars were grown in Dörgicse, Hungary. According to our results, the essential oil (EO) content was highly dependent on the varieties in both experimental years (2017: p < 0.0001 and 2018: p < 0.0001). In 2017, the EO content values of LI accessions were all higher than those of the LA cultivars. However, in 2018, the mean EO content value of ‘Budakalászi’ (LA) (8.2 mL/100g) exceeded that of ‘Grosso’ (LI) (7.7 mL/100g). The EO of ‘Mailette’ (LA) and ‘Budakalászi’ (LA) contained the highest linalool proportions (52.9% and 47.0%) while ‘Beate’ (LA) showed the lowest (18.1%); and this latter variety was richest in linalyl-acetate (58.9%). LI varieties produced lower linalyl acetate and total ester ratios in comparison to the LA cultivars. Concerning EO composition, only the UK varieties ‘Hidcote Blue’ (LA) and ‘Munstead’ (LA) met the requirements of the Ph. Eur.This study provided evidence that the effect of growth year on the EO content was significant only in two varieties out of the eight. However, in the more rainy year 2018, the accumulation of linalool and linalyl acetate was significantly affected in several cases, where linalool proportions decreased and linalyl acetate ratios increased. 相似文献

The designer proline-rich antimicrobial peptide A3-APO and its Chex1-Arg20 single chain in vivo metabolite were studied for their ability to induce bacterial resistance upon repeated incubation of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae strains in sublethal concentrations. While no resistant E. coli phenotype emerged to either peptides, after 10 passages the K. pneumoniae strain became resistant to the monomer but not the dimer. The major microbiological difference between A3-APO and Chex1-Arg20 is the improved membrane-disintegrating ability of the dimeric prodrug. Thus, in agreement with earlier studies, the induced resistance likely resides in some membrane component rather than the intracellular target protein DnaK. In support, no genetic alteration in the DnaK multihelical lid region could be observed in any of the sensitive or resistant bacterial strains. 相似文献

应用倍比稀释法检测18份千里光(Senecio scandens Buch-Ham)水煎剂对7种细菌的抗菌效果。最低抑菌浓度(minimal inhibitory concentration,MIC)检测结果表明,千里光对金黄色葡萄球菌的抗菌作用最强,对铜绿假单胞菌的抗菌效果最差。比较不同细菌的MIC值发现,温和气单胞菌共检测出4个不同的MIC值,金黄色葡萄球菌、铜绿假单胞菌、大肠埃希菌、甲型副伤寒杆菌、福氏痢疾杆菌和迟钝爱德华菌的MIC值为5个,迟钝爱德华菌的MIC值最多,表现出6个MIC梯度值。本研究结果提示千里光个体有效抗菌组分的多样性,也意味着千里光抗菌药理学性状为多基因控制的数量性状。 相似文献

Abstract The content of 4-amino-4-deoxy- l -arabinopyranose ( l -Arap4N) and the phosphate substitution pattern of the LPS of various strains from Salmonella minnesota, Yersinia enterocolitica and Proteus mirabilis was determined by GC/MS, HPLC and 31 P-NMR. These data allowed us to examine the possible role of these components for the polymyxin B-binding capacity of LPS and for the minimal inhibiting concentration (MIC) and the minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of polymyxins B and E towards the respective R-mutants. Contrary to other investigated Re-, Rd- and Rc-mutants of S. minnesota , strain R595 (Re-mutant) showed about a 90% substitution of the ester-linked phosphate-group with l -Arap4N, whereas the l -Arap4N content of the other S. minnesota strains amounted to 17–25%. Neither the binding capacity of LPS to polymyxin B, determined by a bioassay, nor the MIC- and MBC-values of the R-mutants were significantly affected by this alteration. Similar results were obtained after using the temperature-dependent changes in the l -Ara p4N-content and phosphate substitution pattern of Y. enterocolitica 75R . In order to explore the relevant polymyxin B binding site, lipid A samples with or without substitution of their ester-linked phosphate group were prepared and subjected to the polymyxin-binding assay. The results obtained so far indicated that the inner core bound l -Arap4N, detected in all resistant strains investigated, may play a decisive role in the decreased binding of polymyxin B, responsible for the bacterial resistance towards polymyxin(s). 相似文献

Antimicrobial properties of oxidized cellulose and its salts in linters (-L) and microsphere (-M) form (OKCEL H-L, OKCEL Zn-M, OKCEL ZnNa-L, OKCEL ZnNa-M and OKCEL Ag-L) were tested by a dilution method against a spectrum of microbial strains: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus licheniformis, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium chrysogenum, Rhizopus oryzae, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis. OKCEL Ag-L exhibited antimicrobial activity in the range 0.1-3.5% w/v against all the bacteria and fungi involved in this study. Strong inhibition by OKCEL ZnNa-M was observed for Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus licheniformis, Rhizopus oryzae, Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis in the range 0.5-2.0% w/v. Antimicrobial effects of oxidized cellulose and its salts in textile form were investigated by a diffusion and dilution method against the spectrum of above-cited microbial strains extended by Clostridium perfringens. Generally, OKCEL Ag-T, OKCEL Zn-T and OKCEL H-T showed high antimicrobial activity against populations of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus licheniformis and Staphylococcus epidermidis. 目的了解3种氟喹诺酮类(FQS)体外诱导肺炎克雷伯菌(Klebsiella pneumoniae,Kpn)耐药性的差异,研究肺炎克雷伯菌DNA旋转酶A亚单位(GyrA)和拓扑异构酶ⅣC亚基(ParC)的变异与其耐喹诺酮类药物的关系。方法采用环丙沙星(CW)、左氧氟沙星(LEX)和加替沙星(GAT)对从临床分离8株Kpn进行体外分步诱导,采用琼脂平板二倍稀释法测定CIP、LVF及GAT对Kpn诱导前、后的最低抑菌浓度(MIC),并对诱导成功的17株Kpn的GyrA的基因(gyrA)和ParC的基因(parC)进行PCR扩增,选取其中8株KpnDNA测序并进行序列分析比较。结果8株耐FQS菌株都存在GyrA变异,同FQS耐药性相关的变异有Ser83(TCC)→Phe(TTC)、Ile(ATC)和Tyr(TAC),Asp87(GAC)→Ala(GCC)、ma(GCC)和Glu(GAA),5株Kpn同时存在ParC的变异:丝氨酸Ser80(AGC)→Ile(ATC)。结论本研究体外实验证实了Kpn可在长期低剂量的接触抗菌药物后形成耐药菌株。在高度耐FQS的Kpn中同时存在GyrA和ParC变异。 相似文献

It requires no post-autoclaving supplementation with vitamins, supports good growth of all common aerobic and anaerobic pathogens and may be used as a broth or agar gel on which the swarming of Proteus spp. is virtually eliminated. The broth as a superior buffering capacity to most complex media and an osmolality and pH close to those of human serum. Santolina corsica Jord. & Fourr. Corsican-Sardinian is an endemism almost present all around Corsica; in Sardinia, it can only be found in Monte Albo (calcareous substratum and poor in nutrients). The aim of our study is to investigate the chemical composition of S. corsica essential oils from plants growing in three different stations located at different altitudes and evaluate the biological activity using anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial test. The composition of the essential oils was determined by gas chromatography and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The essential oils of the Sardinian-Corsican endemism S. corsica, growing in Monte Albo, showed a great variability, probably due to genetic characters different from the Corsican type. We found three different chemotypes: artemisia ketone-β-fellendrene; myrcene and β-fellandrene-myrcene. Standard microbiological assays demonstrated that the essential oils collected in the selected stations, compared with oil and compound with demonstrated antibacterial activity, don’t have any antibacterial activity. DPPH test carried out on the tree samples, compared with chatechin, demonstrated that the oils don’t have antioxidant activity.Regarding anti-inflammatory activity the study demonstrated that the essential oils have a good anti-inflammatory activity on the bronchial tract.The addition of essential oil make easy the exocytose and the histiocytes can expel the anthracotic pigment into the culture medium, purifying its cytoplasm and restoring its ability to phagocytize more material. With a higher concentration of granulocytes in the sample, the incubation of cells shows a non-specific inflammatory pattern in which the addition of the essential oils has a positive impact on the decrease of granulocytes.More experiments are requested to confirm the data, but on the basis of these first results S. corsica essential oil showed potential activity against respiratory infections. 相似文献

Preventive measures based in the control of insect vectors are considered as the best choice to decrease the incidence of insect-borne diseases. Herein we report on the volatile content of the leaf essential oils from Marina neglecta, a medicinal plant distributed in the tropical regions of southern Mexico. In order to investigate the chemical variation of the essential oils, a volatile screening was performed during the four seasons of the years 2016–2019. Simultaneously, their biological activity was tested on distinct life stages of Meccus pallidipennis, M. bassolsae, Aedes aegypti and A. albopictus. Essential oils were mainly constituted of β-pinene (>30%) β-caryophyllene (>25%) and germacrene D (>13%). Dorsal-abdomen application of essential oils on triatomines, revealed an efficient LC50 for nymphs of the stages I to III (4 µg/insect), nymphs of the stages IV to V (5–6 µg/insect), and adults (7–8 µg/insect). The LT50 for the stages I to III was between 6 and 8 h, whereas that for the stages IV to V and adults oscillated between 12 and 16 h and 22 to 26 h, respectively. Fumigation experiments performed on nymph V, demonstrated that 300 µg L?1 air produced 100% mortality after 72 h post-treatment. Among tested volatiles, β-pinene and β-caryophyllene produced a comparable mortality rate (p < 0.01) than that of essential oils in the stages assayed. Essential oils showed strong larvicidal (LC50, 24–36 µg mL?1) and adulticidal (35–48 µg mL?1) activities in mosquito species with an LT50 of 4.5 h and 25–35 min, respectively. The evaluation of β-pinene produced a significant mortality rate (p < 0.01) in larvae whereas germacrene D was the most effective volatile (p < 0.01) against adults of both mosquito species. According to our results, β-pinene was the most effective volatile against the four insect species evaluated and its effect was comparable to that of the essential oil. 相似文献

In this work we analysed the essential oils (EO) obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of five Artemisia species (A. arborescens L., A. campestris L., A. lobelii All., A. annua L. and A. absinthium L.) originated from Serbia, Montenegro, and Libya, by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. In total, 126 compounds were detected, and 120 were identified. Even though a high number of compounds were detected, each individual sample had only 25 to 50, attesting to a great diversity of compounds between taxa. Depending on the species and the locality (geographical origin), EO was dominated by either monoterpenes or sesquiterpenes, with β-pinene, chamazulene, germacrene D, camphor, pinocarvone and thuja-2,4(10)-diene being the dominant compounds. The chemophenetic value of the EO compositions was discussed in relation to the results of the multivariate statistical test, including the detailed survey of the available literature data. 相似文献

The yeast Pichia anomala J121 prevents mold spoilage and enhances preservation of moist grain in malfunctioning storage systems. Development of P. anomala J121 as a biocontrol agent requires in-depth knowledge about its physiology. P. anomala J121 grew under strictly anaerobic conditions, at temperatures between 3 degrees C and 37 degrees C, at pH values between 2.0 and 12.4, and at a water activity of 0.92 (NaCl) and 0.85 (glycerol). It could assimilate a wide range of C- and N-sources and produce killer toxin. A selective medium containing starch, nitrate, acetic acid, and chloramphenicol was developed for P. anomala. P. anomala was equally sensitive as Candida albicans to common antifungal compounds. Growth ability at a range of environmental conditions contributes to the competitive ability of the biocontrol yeast P. anomala J121. 相似文献

Although they act as biocontrol agents, Tachinid parasitoids attack economically beneficial insects, inviting the adoption of control measures against them. The uzi fly, Exorista sorbillans, infests silkworms incurring heavy loss. It is difficult to control such parasitoids as the larval stage is endoparasitic, and insecticides cannot reach them without subjecting the silkworms to potential risks. We selected the leaves of Ocimum gratissimum L. for testing their toxicity potential against E. sorboillans because of its low selective toxicity to Antheraea assamensis Helfer larvae. Assay for adulticidal efficacy of the leaf extracts showed the petroleum ether extract to be the most effective. But the essential oil (LC50 of 0.42%) was even more effective. GC–MS analysis of the oil revealed the presence of twenty-seven compounds with a high percentage of thymol (26.17%), indicating the plant oil as thymol rich chemotype. Thymol was the dominant constituent in the active fraction. The oil and constituents caused rapid death on topical application, indicating a higher penetration rate. We propose the exploration of the essential oil and its constituents as a sustainable solution for controlling E. sorbillans infestation of silkworms in the future. 相似文献
