The Brachylaimidae of Australian native animals are revised. Brachylaima dasyuri (Johnston, 1913) is redescribed from Dasyurus viverrinus, Phascogale tapoatafa and Isoodon macrourus. B. simile (Johnston, 1913) is removed from synonymy with B. dasyuri, reinstated as a valid species and redescribed from Perameles nasuta, Isoodon obesulus and Antechinus stuartii. B. antechini Peisley & Howell, 1975 is reduced to synonymy with B. simile. B. brindabellensis n. sp. is described from Rattus fuscipes. B. walterae n. sp. is described from Antechinus swainsonii and A. stuartii. B. delecta n. sp. is described from Antechinus flavipes. B. sandarsae n. sp. is described from Antechinus godmani. B. pulchellum (Johnston, 1917) is redescribed from Leucosarcia melanoleuca. An unnamed Brachylaima species is described from Isoodon macrourus. New host records are Brachylaima dasyuri from Phascogale tapoatafa and B. simile from Perameles nasuta. Dasyurotrema mascomai n. g., n. sp. is described from Antechinus swainsonii. The new genus is placed in the Panopistinae. It differs from the existing genera by having a single loop of the uterus passing anterior to the ventral sucker and the genital pore posterior to the posterior testis but still distinctly ventral. A second species of Dasyurotrema is recorded, but not described, from Antechinus stuartii. Brachylaimid metacercariae are described from Rhytida capillacea, Helicarion virens, H. mastersi and Vercularion strangei. In no case was a host species found to harbour more than one species from any brachylaimid genus at a single geographical site.  相似文献

Seven new late Middle Cambrian (Cedaria-Crepicephalus zone) acrotretid species are described from the Great Basin, USA. The species belong to five genera of which Lensotreta is new. The following new species are described: Anabolotreta? glabra, Anabolotreta mogota, Canthylotreta crista, Dactylotreta elegantula, Lensotreta perplexa, Opisthotreta transversa, and Opisthotreta indistincta. The shell structure of Canthylotreta is described for the first time based on new material of the type species Canthylotreta marjumensis and of the new species C. crista. The shell of Canthylotreta includes two types of shell fabric, camerate and columnar. Moreover, parts of the shell show transitional textures, supporting the view that the camerate shell structure may has originated from a columnar fabric. Picnotreta lophocracenta Robson and Pratt, 2001, recently described from western Newfoundland, is also described from the new occurrence in the Great Basin.  相似文献

The skull of the small theropod dinosaurVelociraptor mongoliensis is described in detail, using the holotype from the Djadokhta Formation (Campanian) of Mongolia. A reconstruction of the skull is attempted.Velociraptor is closely related toDeinonychus andDromaeosaurus; however, it is distinguished from all other dromaeosaurids described by its relatively long, low skull and a depressed muzzle. The affinities ofVelociraptor are discussed and the taxonomic status of all other previously described East Asian dromaeosaurids is examined.  相似文献

New material of ducks and geese from Late Miocene-Early Pliocene localities of the Great Lakes Depression in western Mongolia is described and the previously described material is revised. This study confirms the presence of four goose species, four dabbling ducks, and three diving ducks. A large goose previously described as Heterochen vicinus is assigned to a separate genus, Heteroanser. Bonibernicla ponderosa is transferred to Anserinae, and North American Branta woolfendeni is regarded as a junior synonym of Bonibernicla ponderosa. The validity of two goose species, Anser devjatkini and A. liskunae, is confirmed and both are assigned here to the subgenus Chen. It is also shown that the holotype of Anas molesta actually belongs to a diving duck of the genus Aythya. The presence of Anas soporata in the Hyargas Nuur Formation is not confirmed.  相似文献

The Neotropical window fly genus Heteromphrale Kröber, 1937 is revised. Two previously described species (Heteromphrale chilensis (Kröber, 1937) and Heteromphrale cyanops (Edwards, 1932)) are redescribed while a new species (Heteromphrale blanca sp. n.) is described from Argentina. The male of Heteromphrale chilensis and female of Heteromphrale cyanops are described and figured for the first time, and a key to species is presented.  相似文献

The genus Balcha Walker (Eupelmidae) is recorded for the first time in South Korea, with one newly described species and one newly recorded species. Both sexes of Balcha opaca Fusu sp. n. are described, and the presumed male of B. dictyota Gibson is described for the first time. The newly described species is peculiar in having a comparatively darker and less shiny mesoscutum. In other species of the genus the mesoscutum has brilliant metallic colours that contrast with dorsal dark bands along areas of much finer sculpture.  相似文献

Obligate endoparasitic oomycetes are known to ubiquitously occur in marine and freshwater diatoms, but their diversity is still largely unexplored. Many of these parasitoids are members of the early-diverging oomycete lineages (Miracula, Diatomophthora), others are within the Leptomitales of the Saprolegniomycetes (Ectrogella, Lagenisma) and some have been described in the Peronosporomycetes (Aphanomycopsis, Lagenidium). Even though some species have been recently described and two new genera were introduced (Miracula and Diatomophthora), the phylogeny and taxonomy of most of these organisms remain unresolved. This is contrasted by the high number of sequences from unclassified species, as recently revealed from environmental sequencing, suggesting the presence of several undiscovered species. In this study, a new species of Miracula is reported from a marine centric diatom (Minidiscus sp.) isolated from Skagaströnd harbor in Northwest Iceland. The morphology and life cycle traits of this novel oomycete parasite are described herein, and its taxonomic placement within the genus Miracula is confirmed by molecular phylogeny. As it cannot be assigned to any previously described species, it is introduced as Miracula islandica in this study. The genus Miracula thus contains three described holocarpic species (M. helgolandica, M. islandica, M. moenusica) to which likely additional species will need to be added in the future, considering the presence of several lineages known only from environmental sequencing that clustered within the Miracula clade.  相似文献

A new genus of soft coral from the Republic of Congo is described, Complexum gen. n. Nine West African octocoral species previously described in the genus Alcyonium by Tixier-Durivault (1955) are referred to this new genus, and a new species is described and figured, Complexum pusillum sp. n. The new species is characterized by having encrusting growth form and abundant spiny clubs in the surface of the polyparium. It colonizes shallow calcareous rocky banks (5 to 20 m depth) existing in coastal water of the region of Pointe-Noire. Based on molecular phylogeny this new genus is well separated from Alcyonium species.  相似文献

The phylogeny and taxonomy of the brachiopod family Linoproductidae are revised. The change in the distributional pattern of spines and distinctive structure of the median lobe of the cardinal process are shown to be the main apomorphies in the family evolution. A new subfamily, Linispininae, and the included new genera, Linispinella and Linispinus, are described. In the nominotypical subfamily Linoproductinae, a new genus Linoproductoides and two new species included in this genus are described from the Vereiskian deposits of the Moscow Region. The new species Linispinus riparius (Trautschold), L. longus sp. nov., and L. staricensis (Ivanov) are described from the Kashirskian deposits. Another new species is tentatively described as “Linoproductus” kabanovi.  相似文献

Three of the five known species ofLepidopus occur in the eastern Pacific.Lepidopus manis sp. nov. is described from a single specimen from the Galápagos Islands. The holotype ofL. xantusi Goode et Bean, 1895, supposedly from Cape San Lucas, Lower California, is shown to be conspecific withL. caudatus (Euphrasen, 1788). The species heretofore reported under the nameL. xantusi is described, and namedL. fitchi sp. nov. It ranges from Oregon to the Gulf of California and occurs disjunctly in southern Ecuador and northern Peru. A key to the described species ofLepidopus is given and certain morphological features ofL. caudatus are described. Geographic variability ofL. caudatus andL. fitchi is discussed.  相似文献

The distribution of Acomopterella species in the Palaearctic region has been re-examined in this study, using recently collected material. The European species was found to be distributed in the eastern Palaearctic as well. A second Palaearctic species from Honshu (Japan) is herein described. The morphology of adult specimens was studied by light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The shape of functional specialized setae on mid tibiae in Acomopterella and seven further fungus gnat genera is described and the suitability of this character for systematic studies is discussed. Details of a “hind tibial organ” are described. The position of Acomopterella in the tribe Gnoristini is briefly discussed. Acomopterella is found to be more closely related to Speolepta Edwards, 1925, than to any other recent genus.  相似文献

Bryobrittonia pellucida was described by Williams in 1901 from a sterile specimen. He suggested a relationship with some members of the Pottiaceae. In 1953, Steere described the sporophyte ofB. pellucida and placed it in the Encalyptaceae. The type ofEncalypta longipes Mitten (1865), a fruiting specimen collected by Drummond in western Canada, is what is presently known asB. pellucida; therefore, the new combination,B. longipes, is made. The distinctive morphological and ecological features of the genusBryobrittonia are described in relation to those of the genusEncalypta. On the basis of both sporophytic and gametophytic characteristics,E. streptocarpa andE. procera are the species most closely related toB. longipes.  相似文献

The systematic position of Riccia fimbriata Nees, a species formerly known only in sterile condition and tentatively placed in the genus Exormotheca, is reexamined in the light of the recently discovered reproductive structures. The species proved to be a member of the genus Cronisia, identical to Cronisia mexicana Hicks, described in 1993. A key is provided to the two known species of Cronisia, C. fimbriata and C. weddellii, and they are described and illustrated.  相似文献

No Devonian disparid crinoids have been described from Uzbekistan, although parahexacrinid thecae and assorted columnals have been described in several papers in the past 50 years. Discovery of a cup of Pisocrinus and a thecae of Haplocrinites are the first of these genera known from Uzbekistan. The stratigraphic range of Haplocrinites is revised to be late Early Devonian (Emsian) to Early Carboniferous (Tournaisian) because Silurian species assigned to the genus are based on loose ossicles that morphologically do not belong to the genus. The paleogeographic ranges of Pisocrinus and Haplocrinites are extended into Uzbekistan. Haplocrinites uzbekistanensis n. sp. is described.  相似文献
