对德兴铜矿1号尾矿库库面纯尾砂立地植被恢复与重建进行了研究。结果表明:纯尾砂植被恢复与重建的主要是土壤因子,即土壤组成、结构、水分、养分和毒性。矿区自然植被的次生演替序列为:次生裸地→草丛→灌丛→针叶林→常绿与落叶阔叶混交林、针阔叶混交林→常绿阔叶林6个阶段。纯尾砂立地13种试验先锋草种的优劣热比较结果依次顺序为:水蜡烛1.06>假俭草1.05>苇状羊茅1.01>芒草1.00=弯叶画眉草1.00>狗牙根0.98=百喜草0.98=香根草0.98>象草0.87>荩草0.85>矮象草0.74>节节草0.73>苏丹草0.55。水蜡烛、假俭草、苇状羊茅、芒草、弯叶画眉草、狗牙根、百喜草、香根草、象草、荩草、矮象草、节节草被认为是纯尾砂植被恢复与重建的优良先锋草种。纯尾砂立地植被恢复与重建的途径主要包括植被恢复演替、土壤生物改良和客土复垦3种模式。  相似文献

植被重建是露天煤矿排土场生态恢复的关键措施,深入了解植被建设对土壤酶活性的影响,对于合理选择适宜于矿区生态恢复的人工植被和加速矿区土壤生态恢复具有重要意义。通过野外调查采样和室内分析,研究了黑岱沟露天煤矿排土场植被重建和恢复对浅层(0—20 cm)土壤酶活性(包括3种氧化还原酶:过氧化氢酶、多酚氧化酶、脱氢酶,4种水解酶:蔗糖酶、脲酶、磷酸酶、纤维素酶)的影响。结果表明:相比未进行植被建设的新排土场裸地,植被重建显著改善了土壤酶活性和理化性质,建植18a后土壤酶活性可恢复到天然植被区的65%—76%,水解酶恢复速率(平均为86.9%)快于氧化还原酶(平均为42.7%),其中土壤磷酸酶恢复速率最快(平均为天然植被区的154.7%),其次为蔗糖酶(74.3%)、纤维素酶(59.9%)、脲酶(58.5%)、过氧化氢酶(52.1%)和脱氢酶(38.1%),多酚氧化酶恢复最慢(为37.8%)。植被恢复进程中,建植10a期土壤酶活性年均恢复速率最快(平均为6.0%/a),15a变缓(4.8%/a),18a迅速降低(3.2%/a)。同时植被配置类型对土壤酶活性影响显著,土壤酶活性与土壤主要理化因子具有较高的相关性。上述结果反映了植被重建能显著改善矿区排土场的土壤酶活性,植被恢复进程中水解酶恢复速率快于氧化还原酶,恢复初期快于后期,但土壤酶活性的恢复需要一个漫长的过程。  相似文献

武汉莲花湖水生植被重建的实践与启示   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
通过截污、控制养鱼、控藻和科学种植等措施,2~3年内,在长江中游地区水质为劣Ⅴ类的重富营养湖泊武汉小莲花湖重建了以伊乐藻(Elodea nuttallii)为优势种的沉水植物先锋群落,2004和2005年春季的沉水植被盖度分别达到98%和95%,抑制了水华的发生,改善了水质。利用冬季水位低、透明度相对高的时机种植伊乐藻、菹草(Potamogeton crispu)等这些适合冬春季生长的沉水植物是建立沉水植物先锋群落的一个有效途径。由于以伊乐藻或菹草为优势种的先锋群落不稳定,必须配备丰富物种、优化结构、增加群落稳定性等后续措施。水生植被重建初期是最脆弱的时期,某些生态因子的较大波动很容易破坏植物群落,在这一时期要尽量保持关键因子的稳定,如禁止养鱼、防止污染负荷突然增加、稳定水位是必需的。  相似文献

对南亚热带鹤山恢复植被5种优势种湿地松(Pinus elliottii),马占相思(Acacia mangium),大叶相思(Acacia auriculaeformis),九节(Psychotria rubra)和南洋楹(Albizia falcata)进行了叶解剖学研究。结果显示,变化表现在表皮角质膜的厚度、细胞壁的厚度和形状,叶肉组织中海绵组织和栅栏组织的分化,内皮层维管束的构造等。为以后进一步探讨植被恢复过程中叶解剖结构的变化提供了实验基础。  相似文献

 自20世纪90年代以来,有关受损湿地植被恢复与重建的研究大量涌现。在大量文献调研的基础上,对湿地植被恢复的目的、优先原则、策略和途径、理论、技术、长期监测及评价作了回顾,对贫营养沼泽和富营养沼泽的恢复技术作了详细总结。湿地恢复的策略主要有修复和重建,指导理论主要有次生演替、自设计和入侵理论等。泥炭地植被受损后的恢复技术主要有播种法、泥炭藓片段散布法、营养体移植法、草皮移植法等。种子(繁殖体)库在植被恢复中的作用也不可忽视。恢复初期的抚育和管理必不可少。最后指出了湿地恢复研究中亟待解决的问题。  相似文献

A novel isolate belonging to the genus Streptomyces, strain SL-4T, was isolated from soil sample collected from a sanitary landfill, New Delhi, India. The taxonomic status of this isolate was studied by polyphasic approach including morphological, physiological and chemo-taxonomic characterization. Spore chains of SL-4T were open loops, hooks or extended spirals of wide diameter (retinaculiperti). The cell wall peptidoglycan of the isolate SL-4T contained L,L-diaminopimelic acid, suggesting that the strain has a cell wall of chemotype-I. The polar lipid profile of the isolate was of Type II, with phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylinositol mannosides. The 16SrRNA gene sequence similarity between SL-4T and its phylogenetic relatives Streptomyces atrovirens NRRLB 16357T (DQ026672), S. albogriseolus NRRLB 1305T (AJ494865), S viridodiastaticus NBRC 13106T (AB184317), S. caelestis NRRL 2418T (X80824), S. flavoviridis NBRC 12772T (AB184842), S. pilosus NBRC 12807T (AB184161) and S. longispororuber NBRC 13488T (AB184440) was 99.65, 99.65, 99.64, 99.23, 99.15, 99.14 and 99.13 % respectively. Subsequent DNA–DNA hybridization experiments with the test strain and its clade members showed 55.27, 44.27, 36.86, and 15.65 % relatedness between SL-4T and its relatives S. atrovirens,S. albogriseolus, S. viridodiastaticus and S. longispororuber respectively. The genotypic and phenotypic data was analyzed to verify possibility of the isolate SL-4T representing novel member of the genus Streptomyces, for which the name S. antibioticalis is being proposed. The type strain is SL-4T (=CCM 7434T=MTCC 8588T).  相似文献

Being opportunistic omnivores, wild pigs (Sus scrofa) readily feed on edible garbage. Given the presence of substantial volumes of edible food waste, large multi-county and regional municipal sanitary waste landfills constitute attractive forage resources for pigs, providing a year-round anthropogenic source of potentially high-quality forage. Our objective was to assess the effects that a large regional landfill has on the local pigs foraging in that facility's waste disposal cells. The landfill, located on the United States Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) in South Carolina, USA, became operational in 1998 and pigs began foraging there in 2001. By 2009 >100 pigs/night were observed foraging in the landfill, suggesting landfill establishment may have important consequences for population dynamics, public safety, and disease transmission. We evaluated changes in body mass, fetal litter size, numbers of pigs removed, and wild pig-vehicle collisions (WPVCs) before (1980–2000) and after (2001–2019) pigs began foraging in the landfill on SRS. Body mass during the after period increased to a greater extent for pigs in the vicinity of the landfill compared to pigs on the rest of SRS. Fetal litter size increased for pigs in the vicinity of the landfill, whereas it remained unchanged on the rest of SRS. Our density surrogate (number of pigs harvested) increased around the landfill during the after period by 2.9 times, whereas on the rest of the site it only increased by 53%. No WPVCs occurred adjacent to the landfill before 2001, but WPVCs increased along the 2 major roads bordering the landfill after 2001. Effects of sanitary waste landfills on wild pig populations scavenging there can present unique challenges to population management, control, public safety, and disease transmission. Potential approaches to address these challenges could be exclusion fencing to prevent access to the landfill's waste disposal cells or enhanced placement of waste cell covers to reduce access. © 2021 The Wildlife Society.  相似文献

Goal, Scope and Background

The aim of the present study is to evaluate, through LCA, the potential environmental impact associated to urban waste dumping in a sanitary landfill for four case studies and to compare different technologies for waste treatment and leachate or biogas management in the framework of the EPD® system. Specific data were collected on the four Italian landfills during a five-year campaign from 2000 to 2004. This work also analyses the comparability of EPD results for different products in the same product category. For this purpose, a critical review of PSR 2003:3, for preparing an EPD on ‘Collection, transfer and disposal service for urban waste in sanitary landfills', is performed.

Methods

PSR 2003:3 defines the requirements, based on environmental parameters, that should be considered in an LCA study for collecting and disposal service of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in a sanitary landfill. It defines functional unit, system boundaries towards nature, other technical systems and boundaries in time, cut-off rules, allocation rules and parameters to be declared in the EPD. This PSR is tested on four case studies representing the major landfills located from the farthest west to the farthest east side of the Ligurian Region. Those landfills are managed with different technologies as concerns waste pre-treatment and leachate or biogas treatment. For each landfill, a life cycle assessment study is performed.

Results and Discussion

The comparison of the LCA results is performed separately for the following phases: Transport, Landfill, Leachate and Biogas. The following parameters are considered: Resource use (Use of non-renewable resources with and without energy content, Use of renewable resources with and without energy content, Water consumption); Pollutant emissions expressed as potential environmental impact (Global Warming Potential from biological and fossil sources, Acidification, Ozone depletion, Photochemical oxidant formation, Eutrophication, Land use, Hazardous and other Waste production). The comparison of the LCA results obtained for alternative landfill and biogas management techniques in the case studies investigated shows that the best practicable option that benefits the environment as a whole must be identified and chosen in the LCA context. For example, a strong waste pre-treatment causes a high biological GWP in the Landfill phase, but a low GWP contribution in the Biogas phase, due to the consequent low biogas production, evaluated for 30 years since landfill closure.

Conclusion

The analysis of four case studies showed that, through the EPD tool, it is possible to make a comparison among different declarations for the same product category only with some modification and integration to existent PSR 2003:3. Results showed that different products have different performances for phases and impact categories. It is not possible to identify the \best product\ from an environmental point of view, but it is possible to identify the product (or service) with the lowest impact on the environment for each impact category and resource use.

Recommendation and Perspective

In consequences of the verification of the comprehensiveness of existent PSR 2003:3 for the comparability of EPD, some modifications and integration to existent rules are suggested.

Understanding the natural revegetation of forests disturbed by the dumping of mine wastes is vital for the success of reclamation strategies. The Gunnar gold mine tailings pond in southeast Manitoba has remained largely unvegetated since the mine was closed in 1942, with limited vegetation developed on one side of the pond. We examined the natural Picea mariana/Larix laricina forest that has developed on the pond to determine how the plant community develops and what changes in the tailings are associated with this development. Vegetation sampled along transects showed a consistent pattern of succession from Equisetum palustre to Salix spp., and Populus balsamifera, to Larix laricina and finally to P. mariana. Larix laricina and P. mariana are moving into the site at the rate of 1.5 m per year with L. laricina invading 4 years ahead of P. mariana. Both tree species show a similar pattern of annual growth, showing positive correlations with spring precipitation, a pattern also occurring on L. laricina growing on a nearby site. The establishment of E. palustre was accompanied by initially rapid decreases in compaction and conductivity of the tailings, and an increase in inorganic nitrogen. Surface organic matter depth, coarse organic matter mass, and soil organic carbon increased at a constant rate, whereas subsurface coarse organic matter had an initial rapid increase followed by a gradual increase. As fern allies (and specifically members of the Equisetaceae family) have a number of properties that facilitate succession on mine wastes, their use should be explored further.  相似文献

The goal of the present study was to assess a soil seed bank as an input seed source for revegetating lead/zinc (Pb/Zn) mine tailings. The seed bank source was abandoned farmland, whose top 10‐cm layer of topsoil contained 6,850 ± 377 seeds/m2 from 41 species. The seeds in the soil were principally distributed in the upper 0–2 cm, which held 75.8% of total seeds and 92.7% of species composition. The top 2‐cm layer of topsoil may be sufficient to serve the purpose of providing a seed source for revegetation on derelict lands, including mined lands. Four different thicknesses of topsoil (1, 2, 4, and 8 cm, redistributed from the total 0–10‐cm layer from the farmland) were field‐tested on the Pb/Zn mine tailings. There was no significant difference in seedling density among the 4 thickness treatments. Many seeds in the treatments with more than 1‐cm of topsoil were unable to emerge from the deeper layer. Seedlings in plots with topsoil of 1‐, 2‐ and 4‐cm failed to establish within 1 year due to the extremely high acidity (pH 2.39 to 2.76). A shallow layer of topsoil cannot neutralize the sulfuric acid generated from oxidation of pyrites in the tailings. For establishment of seedlings on metalliferous lands, an insulating layer such as subsoil, building rubble, or domestic refuse is necessary before covering with valuable topsoil. The woody legume Leucaena leucocephala grown on the tailings with a topsoil cover of 8‐cm was the most dominant species. Lead was accumulated in root, branch, stem bark, and xylem, which accounted for more than 80% of the total metal concentration in the plant. This portion of Pb will reside in the plant for a long period, while the smaller portion of Pb in the leaf (about 15%) could be returned to the environment as litter during growth. Woody plants may have an advantage in metal‐phyto‐remediation over herbaceous plants.  相似文献

Summary Methods for floodplain revegetation using native species were investigated, following clearance of the invasive shrub Mimosa pigra L. (Mimosaceae) in the Northern Territory of Australia. Prolific revegetation occurred naturally and several species were identified that have potential for revegetation at sites where natural regeneration is poor, namely: Spiny Mud Grass, Pseudoraphis spinescens, Awnless Barnyard Grass, Echinochloa colona, and an unidentified Panicum species. However, it may still be desirable to plant native perennial grasses, of which most species did not establish naturally. Stolons of the native floodplain grass Hymenachne acutigluma (Steud) Gilliland (Poaceae) established well when planted in wet mud and shallow water during the early dry season, as seasonal floodwaters subsided. Similar plantings during the early wet season were less successful. Sowing seed of several floodplain grasses and Eliocharis dulcis was unsuccessful in both seasons. Planting stolons of H. acutigluma as seasonal floodwaters subside may provide a reliable alternative to exotic floodplain grasses, Para Grass (Urochloa mutica), and Amity Aleman Grass (Echinochloa polystachya), which are also currently propagated vegetatively in Australia. However, planting H. acutigluma stolons had no tangible benefits in terms of suppressing Mimosa establishment, which was low in all treatments. Revegetation should not be considered an alternative to the diligent control of Mimosa seedlings; regenerating following control of Mimosa thickets.  相似文献

Intensive large-scale revegetation programs are a major activity in degraded landscapes. The collection and deployment of seed for revegetation is primarily based on local seed sources to preclude concerns associated with local adaptation as well as outbreeding depression in small remnant populations. For most species however, little is known about the levels of genetic diversity being sourced and deployed, or even of the levels of adaptively significant variation present across the species range. Acacia acinacea (Gold Dust wattle) is a key revegetation species widely distributed across south eastern Australia. Levels of variation in terms of morphology, fitness, ploidy level and AFLPs were assessed using seed lots from 35 populations across the Murray Darling Basin in south eastern Australia. Multivariate analysis indicated that three of the populations were misidentified while the remaining populations were differentiated into three groups. One of these groups (Bendigo) was highly geographically localised and tetraploid while the other two (Group1 and Group2) were both diploid with overlapping distributions. Fitness differences were also evident among these three groups while AFLPs indicated that they were genetically differentiated and that lower levels of diversity were captured from some populations. A major finding of this study was that no one technique was able to fully describe the variation present in A. acinacea and seed sourcing guidelines based on any single approach could have resulted in erroneous decisions being made. Information generated from this study has been used to refine seed sourcing guidelines.  相似文献

The wide use of municipal sanitary landfills has drawn attention to the leaching effluent generated, this may be problematic to the site's environment, whether by infiltration or other contaminating modes. Anaerobic digestion has been shown to be one of the most efficient systems with which to treat this type of effluent. This article reviews the techniques used by different authors for leachate characterization, specifically related to refractory and toxic components and their effect on anaerobic treatability. In addition, it covers the treatment of refractory organics, organic and inorganic toxic materials and the nutrient balance for adequate system operation. The main conclusions are that there is ample availability of methods by which to identify the different components present in leachates as well as for their toxicity assessment and that nutrients are in general available in sufficient amounts. Treatability studies are presented which are shown to be of general value and can be used in a straightforward manner.  相似文献
