臭椿沟眶象幼虫消化道柔软脆弱,尤其是1龄与2龄幼虫的消化道纤细易断,解剖难度较大。本文介绍了臭椿沟眶象幼虫消化道的具体解剖方法,根据不同龄期幼虫脂肪含量与消化道韧性差异,对1-2龄和3-7龄幼虫,分别使用纵切法和剥离法解剖。结果表明:臭椿沟眶象幼虫消化道分为前肠、中肠和后肠。前肠为窄而细的管状,没有明显的嗉囊和前胃。中肠分为2部分,前部膨大,后部为光滑的管状。后肠由回肠和直肠组成。马氏管6根。这两个方法提高了此幼虫消化道解剖的效率与成功率,希望能为具有体壁柔软、消化道脆弱易损等特点昆虫幼虫的消化道解剖提供借鉴与参考。  相似文献

Under the umbrella of the International Organisation of Biological Control (IOBC), an international working group of public sector scientists entitled on "Transgenic Organisms in Integrated Pest Management and Biological Control" has been organized. The group will develop scientific principles and detailed scientific guidelines for biosafety testing of transgenic crops. The key elements of this project are: (1) An international initiative including expert scientists from leading research institutions in developed and developing countries; (2) coordination of the development and implementation of the guidelines as a dynamic process, which will include scientific and technical capacity building and communication among scientists and between scientists and policy makers; (3) rapid serial publication of sections of the guidelines as they are completed; and (4) rapid and timely revision of previously published sections. The guidelines will be constructed on a case-by-case basis and will have no regulatory legitimacy themselves.  相似文献

Beginning in the early 1990s, the balsam fir sawfly (Neodiprion abietis) became a significant defoliating insect of precommercially thinned balsam fir (Abies balsamea (L.) Mill.) stands in western Newfoundland, Canada. In 1997, a nucleopolyhedrovirus (NeabNPV) was isolated from the balsam fir sawfly and, as no control measures were then available, NeabNPV was developed for the biological control of balsam fir sawfly. In order to register NeabNPV for operational use under the Canadian Pest Control Products Act, research was carried out in a number of areas including NeabNPV field efficacy, non-target organism toxicology, balsam fir sawfly ecology and impact on balsam fir trees, and NeabNPV genome sequencing and analysis. As part of the field efficacy trials, approximately 22 500 hectares of balsam fir sawfly-infested forest were aerially treated with NeabNPV between 2000 and 2005. NeabNPV was found to be safe, efficacious, and economical for the suppression of balsam fir sawfly outbreak populations. Conditional registration for the NeabNPV-based product, Abietiv?, was received from the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (Health Canada) in April 2006. In July 2006, Abietiv was applied by spray airplanes to 15 000 ha of balsam fir sawfly-infested forest in western Newfoundland in an operational control program.  相似文献

Wheat is an important food crop that provides over 40% of the per capita dietary supply of calories and proteins in many developing countries. Wheat production has a crucial role in food security and the global economy. With the world's population estimated to reach 9.6 billion by 2050, the demand for wheat is expected to increase 60%. Sunn Pest, Eurygaster integriceps Puton (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae), is one of the major constraints to wheat production in Central and West Asia, Eastern Europe and North Africa. The economic impact of Sunn Pest is around 42 million USD for the region and that is only the cost of the chemicals used for its management. Application of chemical insecticides has been the main strategy for management of Sunn Pest. However, emergence of resistance in Sunn Pest populations against most pesticides and increased awareness of their adverse impacts on the environment have prompted investigation of alternative approaches. This review provides information on the most current literatures on Sunn Pest management with emphasis on practices such as application of chemical insecticides, insect growth regulators (IGRs) and anti-juvenile hormones, use of Sunn Pest egg parasitoids, entomopathogenic nematodes, entomopathogenic fungi, use of digestive enzyme inhibitors and development of resistant wheat varieties.  相似文献

Illus. 1960.–Chlorogenic acid accumulation in cells adjacent to a wound occurs before suberization and wound-periderm formation. Suberization during wound healing was highly correlated with chlorogenic acid accumulation and with wound-periderm formation. The possible role of chlorogenic acid as a source of chemical units for suberization is suggested. Histochemical tests indicate that suberization during wound healing may be a form of lignification. Over 5 times as much lignin was found by chemical analysis in the tissues of healed surfaces as in controls.  相似文献

Pest damage to sugar beet, including that by birds, has been recorded since 1957. During that time damage by rooks has decreased almost to nil, but some other bird damage has greatly increased, most probably as a result of changing agronomic practices, especially the extensive use of herbicides, the introduction of monogerm seed, and the increasing practice of ‘planting-to-a-stand’. The most severe bird damage in the spring is grazing by several species, and in early summer localized felling of plants by pheasants. Observations in the mid–1960's of causes of seedling and plant losses suggested that birds were then of minor importance; the British Sugar Corporation currently consider that birds are the most serious pest of sugar beet. The distribution of the reported damage does not seem to follow any national pattern. In small-plot field trials possible repellent materials such as anthraquinone, methiocarb or thiram, applied to seed or foliage, did not decrease the extent of grazing.  相似文献

A series of investigations was carried out at ICARDA during April-June 2004 and May-June 2005 to investigate the use of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana to control Eurygaster integriceps and to determine aspects of the insect's biology that could be relevant to control with the fungus. Application in 2004 of an oil-based formulation of B. bassiana showed distribution of the spray decreasing from the top of the wheat to the bottom, although the proportion of tillers with coverage at the base was still 80%. Seventy percent of Sunn Pest had received direct hits, with the highest amount on the dorsal surface, followed by the ventral surface, then the legs and antennae. Mortality of field-treated, then laboratory-maintained insects, ranged from 47.6% for insects exposed only to the B. bassiana spray, 74.2% for unsprayed insects exposed to treated wheat and 86.4% for insects receiving direct spray and being exposed to treated wheat. Some field results demonstrated mortality. Mortality assessments following the 2005 treatments were conducted solely in the field, there was no apparent effect upon Sunn Pest numbers. The majority of studies on Sunn Pest biology were carried out on untreated insects outside the trial plots. Different assessment methods resulted in varying estimates of adults and juveniles in the field. The numbers of Sunn Pest found and the proportion of these at the top of the wheat crop, declined after early morning and increased again in the early evening, suggesting sheltering deeper in the crop or in the soil during the middle part of the day. Mobility and location of marked insects was followed in micro-plots and by mark and recapture studies, demonstrating a range of activities, from movement around the crop for a number of metres, including contact with numerous tillers to almost total immobility; Sunn Pest generally avoided movement on the soil. The potential for Sunn Pest control with a mycoinsecticide and how Sunn Pest behaviour is relevant to a mycoinsecticide application are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract: Mass-reared reduviid, Rhynocoris marginatus was released in large-sized cotton field cages against three cotton pests, Spodoptera litura, Mylabris pustulata and Dysdercus cingulatus . Pest species were introduced into separate cages in the absence of other pests, parasitoids and predators. Control experimental cages without R. marginatus were maintained for each prey set up during the evaluation period. R. marginatus greatly reduced the infestation of S. litura (57.5%), M. pustulata (52.3%) and D. cingulatus (45.8%). The leaves, flower and boll damages (32%, 35% and 28% by S. litura, M. pustulata and D. cingulatus , respectively) and seed-cotton yield loss (1.4, 1.6 and 1.25 times in S. litura, M. pustulata and D. cingulatus infested cages, respectively) were reduced by R. marginatus compared with such fields without R. marginatus . The field observations suggest this predator's pest suppression and damage reduction efficacy.  相似文献

Summary The antennal sensilla inI. typographus are almost exclusively confined to the flattened terminal flagellar segment. The sensillar types have distinct distribution patterns in the three areas where they are found. Judging from the ultrastructural characteristics the following functions can be assigned to the sensillar types: chemoreception, single-walled and double-walled sensilla; chemoreception/mechanoreception, terminal-pore sensillum. Moreover there are two types of mechanoreceptors, one of which is connected to a bristle, whereas the other terminates within the cuticle of the flagellar segment.This study was made within the Swedish project Odour Signals for Control of Pest Insects.  相似文献

The British Columbia Cervical Cytology Program is operated through the Central Laboratory at the Cancer Control Agency in Vancouver and processes all of the gynecologic Papanicolaou smears collected by 3,200 physicians throughout the province of British Columbia. The laboratory receives approximately 2,400 smears per day, and the program currently processes in excess of 500,000 smears annually. This article describes the methods that have been developed for ensuring that adequate quality control is present in the screening and interpretation of half a million smears per year, both at the cytotechnologist and at the cytopathologist level. The results of the quality control program, which was considerably modified in 1985, are also presented. The modified program shows a significant improvement in the number of undercalled and overcalled cases detected in two comparable six-month periods.  相似文献

The quality of the data recorded by the British Columbia Cancer Registry for 521 new cases of invasive cervical cancer was evaluated. The registry''s pathological diagnosis in all new registrations of invasive cervical cancer diagnosed in British Columbia between 1977 and 1979 was compared with a best estimate of the true diagnosis, which was determined from the results of the provincial cervical cytology screening program and the clinical charts at the Cancer Control Agency of British Columbia. The registry''s data overestimated the true incidence of invasive cervical cancer by approximately 55%, since 184 (35%) of the cases were incorrectly registered. Of the 184, 141 (77%) were cases of preinvasive cervical cancer, 26 (14%) did not meet the criteria for a true case (i.e., they were not newly diagnosed in British Columbia between 1977 and 1979) and 17 (9%) were cases of invasive cancer of another primary site. In addition, 28 cases of invasive cervical cancer diagnosed in the province during the study period had not been reported to the registry. Thus, both over-reporting and under-reporting occurred. There is a need for constant evaluation of registry data if cancer registries are to fulfil their potential contribution to cancer control programs and research.  相似文献

Sunn Pest, Eurygaster integriceps Puton (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae), is the most serious pest of wheat in West and Central Asia. Following harvest, the pest migrates from wheat fields to high elevations to escape high summer temperatures and, the following spring, moves back to the fields. In this work, Sunn Pest populations were monitored in 21 overwintering sites located in seven provinces (with 800–2500 m elevation) in Iran. Litter samples were taken twice in each site, once in July–November 2002 and again in March 2003. At each site 60 Artemesia sp. bushes were selected at random and litter from each bush was collected and the number of live male and female adult Sunn Pest counted. More Sunn Pests were collected in higher elevations in the first sampling. Golestan (893 m), Kermanshah (1583 m), and Qazvin (1675 m), located in valleys and surrounded by mountainous areas, had < 5 adults/bush. However Azarbayejan (1750 m), Markazi (1883 m), Kordestan (2067 m), and Esfahan (2141 m), located in mountainous areas and/or close to mountains, had 10–52 adults/bush. No noticeable changes in Sunn Pest populations were observed in 17 overwintering sites among 21 between the two sampling times. These results suggest that, after Sunn Pest moves to more highly elevated sites at aestivation time, most of them remain in these sites during overwintering before migration to wheat fields in the spring. Sunn Pest can be targeted for management in these areas during the fall and/or early spring as their movement is clearly limited.  相似文献

During an experiment carried out in 2009–2010 we observed different population densities of Typhlodromus pyri in three monitored pear cultivars in Organic Pest Management (OPM) as well as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) orchards. In both years the population density of T. pyri was the highest in the cultivar Conference (organic orchard). The lowest population density was found in 2009 on the cultivar Dicolor (IPM orchard) and in 2010 on the cultivar Bohemica. Factors involved are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

Pest problems involve people who value a resource affected by a pest that is managed by people, ideally the same as those who value the resource. Management that is not inclusive of pests, resources, people, and their interactions usually fails. Mammalian pests in New Zealand are of two sorts: those that are pests in their native land (usually r-strategists), and those that are not (usually K-strategists). The impact on New Zealand resources of r-strategists tends to be periodic and acute when their densities are high. Control works best against them when it is applied once densities become intolerable, or once such densities can be predicted. The impact of K-strategists is more stable but is chronic. Control operations against them need to be sustained and regular to retain the stability of the pest-resource interaction, but to drive it in favour of the resource. The basic strategies to deal with the impact of pests are: those for which a one-off management action has a permanent benefit (e.g., eradication); those that require ongoing action to gain a permanent benefit (e.g., sustained control); and those for which no management action is possible or justified. Idealist and cynical approaches to pest policies are discussed and rejected in favour of a pragmatic policy.  相似文献
