A total of 490 eight-week-old female Hybrid Converter turkeys (body weight 4.11 ± 0.03 kg) were divided into 5 groups with 7 replicates of 14 birds each. For 8 weeks, basal diets were supplemented with methionine (Met) at following levels (weeks 9–12/weeks 13–16 of age): Group 1 – 0.34/0.29%, Group 2 – 0.39/0.34%, Groups 3 and 4 – 0.45/0.38% and 0.51/0.41%, respectively, Group 5 – 0.58/0.47%. Only in the first feeding phase the body weight gain (BWG) was affected by Met levels with the significantly highest BWG in Group 3. No treatment effects were found for feed conversion ratio, carcass yield, carcass composition and meat colour. The blood superoxide dismutase activity was significantly highest in Groups 2 and 3. The concentrations of reduced glutathione in the liver were linearly increased (p = 0.018), whereas the ratio of reduced glutathione to oxidised glutathione was highest in Group 3 (quadratic contrast, p = 0.004). It can be concluded that turkeys from Group 3 (Met levels age depending 15% and 10% above recommendations by NRC) were characterised by a well-balanced physiological response. Attention should be paid to the immune response of birds to higher dietary Met levels: plasma IgA concentrations decreased, whereas IL-6 and TNF-α levels increased in turkeys fed diets with the highest Met content.  相似文献

Lake Erie supplies drinking water to more than 11 million consumers, processes millions of gallons of wastewater, provides important species habitat and supports a substantial industrial sector, with >$50 billion annual income to tourism, recreational boating, shipping, fisheries, and other industries. These and other key ecosystem services are currently threatened by an excess supply of nutrients, manifested in particular by increases in the magnitude and extent of harmful planktonic and benthic algal blooms (HABs) and hypoxia. Widespread concern for this important international waterbody has been manifested in a strong focus of scientific and public material on the subject, and commitments for Canada-US remedial actions in recent agreements among Federal, Provincial and State agencies. This review provides a retrospective synthesis of past and current nutrient inputs, impairments by planktonic and benthic HABs and hypoxia, modelling and Best Management Practices in the Lake Erie basin. The results demonstrate that phosphorus reduction is of primary importance, but the effects of climate, nitrogen and other factors should also be considered in the context of adaptive management. Actions to reduce nutrient levels by targeted Best Management Practices will likely need to be tailored for soil types, topography, and farming practices.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of live yeast supplementation on performance, nutrient digestibility, enteric microbial populations and volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration of weanling pigs, receiving diets supplemented with aureomycin and elevated doses of CuSO4. In experiment 1, 90 crossbred pigs (7.20 +/- 0.44 kg, 28 d of age) were randomly allotted to one of five dietary treatments containing either 0, 4.0 x 10(6), 9.0 x 10(6), 2.6 x 10(7), or 5.1 x 10(7) cfu Saccharomyces cerevisiae per gram with six replicate pens per treatment and three pigs per pen. BWG and feed intake increased quadratically during days 1-14 and days 1-28 as live yeast levels increased (p < 0.01). Pigs fed the diet containing 2.6 x 10(7) cfu yeast per gram had the highest BWG and feed intake among the treatments. In experiment 2, 48 crossbred pigs (7.64 +/- 0.72 kg, 28 d of age) were fed diets containing live yeast at 0 or 3.2 x 10(7) cfu of S. cerevisiae per g with six replicate pens per treatment and four pigs per pen. The yeast supplementation improved BWG and feed intake during days 1-14 (p < 0.01) and days 1-28 (p < 0.05). Treatment differences were not observed in any of the bacterial populations, yeast numbers or VFA concentrations, at any of the sites of the gastrointestinal tract tested. Total tract nutrient digestibility was also not different between treatments. Overall, dietary supplementation of live yeast had a positive effect on BWG and feed intake of weanling pigs, receiving diets supplemented with aureomycin and elevated doses of CuSO4. The improvement in BWG appears to be partly related to an increase in feed intake. The mechanism of yeast improving feed intake of piglets needs to be explored.  相似文献

Lowering protein level in diets for piglets urge to have knowledge on the piglet’s requirements for essential amino acids (AA) and their interactions. The present studies aimed to determine the interaction between the dietary level of valine (Val) and tryptophan (Trp) and the effect of AA imbalance at two levels of dietary Val on the growth performance of post-weaning piglets. In Experiment 1 (duration 4 weeks), the effects of supplementation of free l-Val (1.0 g/kg) and/or l-Trp (0.5 g/kg) in a low-CP diet (CP 17.7%), marginal in Trp and Val, was studied in a 2×2 factorial design and using an additional reference treatment (CP 19.5%). In Experiment 2 (duration 5 weeks), the influence of a stepwise increase in excess supply of isoleucine (Ile), histidine (His) and leucine (Leu), up to 10, 10% and 30% relative to their requirement values respectively, was evaluated at 60% or 70% standardized ileal digestible (SID) Val relative to SID lysine, using a 3×2 factorial design. In Experiment 1, over the whole experimental period, feed intake (FI) was affected by dietary Trp level (P<0.05) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) by both the level of Trp and Val in the diet (both P<0.05). Increasing Trp level increased FI and decreased FCR while increasing dietary Val level reduced FI and increased FCR. For BW gain (BWG), there was an interaction between dietary level of Trp and Val (P<0.05). Valine supplementation decreased BWG using a diet marginal in Trp, whereas it increased BWG when using a Trp sufficient diet. Piglets fed the low-CP diet with adequate levels of Val and Trp showed at least same performance compared to piglets fed the high CP reference diet. In Experiment 2, increasing dietary Val improved FI and BWG (P<0.001) and tended to improve FCR. Dietary AA excess for Ile, His and Leu reduced FI and BWG (P<0.05) and only affected FCR (P<0.01) in the 1st week of the study. Dietary level of Val and AA excess did not show interactive effects, except for FCR over the final 2 weeks of the study (P<0.05). In conclusion, an interaction exists between dietary supply of Val and Trp on the zootechnical performance of post-weaning piglets and dietary AA excess for Ile, Leu and His, reduces growth performance of piglets in low-protein diets, independent of the dietary level of Val.  相似文献

The objective of this meta-analysis was to develop empirical equations predicting growth responses of growing cattle to protein intake. Overall, the data set comprised 199 diets in 80 studies. The diets were mainly based on grass silage or grass silage partly or completely replaced by whole-crop silages or straw. The concentrate feeds consisted of cereal grains, fibrous by-products and protein supplements. The analyses were conducted both comprehensively for all studies and also separately for studies in which soybean meal (SBM; n=71 diets/28 studies), fish meal (FM; 27/12) and rapeseed meal (RSM; 74/35) were used as a protein supplement. Increasing dietary CP concentration increased (P<0.01) BW gain (BWG), but the responses were quantitatively small (1.4 g per 1 g/kg dry matter (DM) increase in dietary CP concentration). The BWG responses were not different for bulls v. steers and heifers (1.4 v. 1.3 g per 1 g/kg DM increase in dietary CP concentration) and for dairy v. beef breeds (1.2 v. 1.7 g per 1 g/kg, respectively). The effect of increased CP concentration declined (P<0.01) with increasing mean BW of the animals and with improved BWG of the control animals (the lowest CP diet in each study). The BWG responses to protein supplementation were not related to the CP concentration in the control diet. The BWG responses increased (P<0.05) with increased ammonia N concentration in silage N and declined marginally (P>0.10) with increasing proportion of concentrate in the diet. All protein supplements had a significant effect on BWG, but the effects were greater for RSM (P<0.01) and FM (P<0.05) than for SBM. Increasing dietary CP concentration improved (P<0.01) feed efficiency when expressed as BWG/kg DM intake, but decreased markedly when expressed as BWG/kg CP intake. Assuming CP concentration of 170 g/kg BW marginal efficiency of the utilisation of incremental CP intake was only 0.05. Increasing dietary CP concentration had no effects on carcass weight, dressing proportion or conformation score, but it increased (P<0.01) fat score. Owing to limited production responses, higher prices of protein supplements compared with cereal grains and possible increases the N and P emissions, there is generally no benefit from using protein supplementation for growing cattle fed grass silage-based diets, provided that the supply of rumen-degradable protein is not limiting digestion in the rumen.  相似文献

The growth and lipid content of three Botryococcus braunii strains from China (CHN), United Kingdom (UK) and Japan (JAP) were compared at three temperatures (20, 25 and 30 C), three irradiances (60, 100 and 300 W m−2) and four salinities (0, 0.15, 0.25, and 0.5 M NaCl) for 30 days, respectively. In the temperature trial, the UK strain and JAP strain grew faster at 25 C than at other temperatures, while the CHN strain performed equally well at 20 and 25 C. The JAP strain grew slowest among the three strains at all temperatures, whereas the growth rate of the CHN and UK strains was similar at all temperatures except at 20 C. The UK strain contained the highest lipid content, but the CHN strain had the lowest lipid content at most temperatures. In the light trial, the highest growth rate was found in the UK strain and the lowest growth rate was observed in the JAP strain at most irradiances. The UK and JAP strains contained more lipids than the CHN strain at 60 and 100 W m−2, but the lipid content was not significantly different among the three strains at 300 W m−2. In the salinity trial, both the CHN and UK strains grew faster than the JAP strain at all salinities, but the growth rate between the CHN and UK strains was not different. However, the CHN strain had the lowest lipid content whereas the UK strain produced the highest lipids at most salinities. Our results indicate that the CHN strain and the UK strain grow faster than the JAP strain, but the UK and JAP strains produce more lipids than the CHN strain. The UK strain should be considered as a potential B. braunii strain for the exploitation of renewable energy.  相似文献

Some physicochemical properties and the microstructure of heat-induced aggregates of globulin from common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) (BWG) formed at 100 °C in 0.01 M phosphate buffer containing 1.0 M NaCl, pH 7.4 were studied. Differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analysis shows a re-distribution of native and extensively denatured proteins in the heat-induced aggregates of BWG, particularly in the ISA fraction. Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic (SDS-PAGE) analysis suggests the occurrence of both dissociation and association of molecules and the involvement of intermolecular disulfide linkages during thermal aggregation. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals that native BWG appeared as uniform compact globules with diameters ranging between 11.7 and 12.5 nm. TEM examination of the buffer-soluble aggregates, fractionated by sucrose density gradient ultracentrifugation, demonstrates the formation of strand-like small aggregates and large compact globular soluble macroaggregates.  相似文献

This experiment was conducted to study growth performance, carcass characteristics, meat quality and plasma constituents of Campbell drakes fed diets containing different levels of lysine with or without a microbial phytase. Basal vegetable duck all-mash diets were fed during the growing (1- 35 d of age), and finishing period (36 - 56 d of age) and were formulated to contain 0.90% and 0.73% lysine (negative control), respectively. These diets were supplemented or not with L-lysine HCl, which resulted in a dietary lysine level of 0.90, 0.95, 1.01 and 1.06% and 0.73, 0.80, 0.87 and 0.94%, during the growing and finishing period, respectively. Furthermore, the diets were fed with or without 600 FTU phytase (Natuphos®) except for those containing 1.06 and 0.94% lysine during the growing and finishing period, respectively (positive control). A lysine level of 1.01/0.87% in the growing/finishing diet significantly increased BWG and improved FCR of drakes by 2.1 and 1.8%, respectively. Phytase significantly increased BWG by 2.1% and 3.5% after feeding the basal diet and 1.01/0.87% lysine, respectively. Also, FCR was significantly improved by 2.2 and 1.8% of groups fed 0.95/0.80, and 1.01/0.87% lysine, respectively. Phytase as an independent variable increased BWG by 1.8, and improved FCR by 1.0%. Lysine and/or phytase did not affect carcass yield, and meat quality treats as well as plasma constituents of drakes. However, lysine level at 0.95/0.80% and 1.01/0.87% significantly decreased abdominal fat deposition compared to either the negative or the positive control. In conclusion, a lysine level of 1.01/0.87% in the growing/finishing diets for drakes is adequate. After phytase supplementation of the basal diet the BWG at a lysine level of 0.90/0.73% were similar to the positive control (1.06/0.94% lysine). However, the best FCR was obtained after feeding diets containing 1.01/0.87% lysine supplemented with phytase.  相似文献

This April, in Cambridge (UK), principal investigators from the Mathematical Biology Group of the Medical Research Council's National Institute of Medical Research organized a workshop in structural bioinformatics at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. Bioinformatics researchers of several nationalities from labs around the country presented and discussed their computational work in biomolecular structure prediction and analysis, and in protein evolution. The ghrelin (GHRL), ghrelin receptor (GHSR), and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R) genes have crucial effects on body weight (BW), body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) in many species. However, few studies on associations of GHRL, GHSR, and IGF1R with BWG, FI, and FCR have been reported in chickens. In this study, 16 SNPs in GHRL, GHSR, and IGF1R genes were genotyped by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). The objective of this study was to examine the associations of GHRL, GHSR, and IGF1R genes polymorphisms with BW at 49 days (BW49) and 70 days (BW70) of age, BWG, FI, and FCR in the interval in two yellow meat-type populations with a total of 724 birds. The results showed that rs15675067 of GHRL was significantly associated with BW70, BWG, and FCR (P < 0.05). For GHSR, rs16675844 had significant effects on FI and FCR (P < 0.01), and that rs14678932 showed significant association with BWG and FI (P < 0.05). Rs14011780 of IGF1R was strongly associated with BW49, BW70, and FCR (P < 0.05). Furthermore, haplotypes based on three SNPs of rs14986828, rs15675067, and rs15675065 in GHRL were significantly associated with BW70 and FCR (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, a three-SNP haplotype comprising rs14011783, rs14011780, and rs14011776 in IGF1R showed significant effects on BW49, BW70, and FCR (P < 0.05). Therefore, it was concluded that the identified SNPs and analyzed haplotypes in this study might be useful for broiler breeding programs.  相似文献

The nutritional composition of diets and the provision of exogenous enzymes play important roles in animal performance. Here, we evaluated the individual and combined impact of nutrients (metabolizable energy (ME), digestible lysine (dLys), available phosphorus and calcium (avP–Ca)) and exogenous multicarbohydrase and phytase complex (MCPC) enyzmes on the growth performance and feed efficiency of broiler chickens from 10 to 42 days (d) of age. Experimental diets were formulated in a Box-Behnken design to contain various levels of ME (11.89, 12.21, 12.54 or 13.06 MJ/kg), dLys (0.91%, 0.93%, 0.96% or 1.00%) and avP/Ca (0.12/0.47%, 0.21/0.58% or 0.33/0.68%). The effect of MCPC was expressed in terms of the extra nutrients released. The diets were formulated to have consistent substrate contents (i.e., arabinoxylan and phytate). Feed intake (FI), BW gain (BWG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were described via polynomial equations (R2 = 0.99, 0.98 and 0.81, respectively), with interconnections between variables (ME, dLys and avP–Ca). Available P–Ca was the most important factor affecting FI (quadratically), and BWG and FCR (linearly). Reducing the avP content from 0.33% to 0.12% in diets lacking MCPC resulted in 25% and 33% decreases in FI and BWG, respectively, and a 12% increase in FCR. The ME and dLys contents also linearly affected these performance parameters to a lesser degree; FI decreased by 400 g when the ME was reduced by 1.17 MJ/kg, and by 300 g following a 0.09% reduction of dLys, while the same reductions in ME and dLys decreased BWG by 120 g and 150 g, respectively. The inclusion of MCPC alleviated the reduction of FI, BWG and FCR by decreasing the avP–Ca. Thus, ME and dLys were the most important factors affecting BWG and FCR in broilers fed diets containing MCPC. When MCPC was added, ME negatively affected FI (r = −0.89, P < 0.001), whereas the dLys content was correlated with BWG (r = 0.74, P < 0.001). Both ME and dLys affected FCR (r = −0.83 and −0.85, respectively). Supplementing MCPC allowed the reduction of ME, dLys and avP–Ca in the diet without affecting performance. Indeed, MCPC’s effect promoted with the release of the following nutrients: 0.56 MJ ME/kg, 0.06% dLys, and 0.15% and 0.13% avP and Ca, respectively. The results indicate nutrient effect and interaction on performance and feed additive potential for nutrient release.  相似文献

Two trials were completed to investigate the effects of luprostiol in swine. The first trial was to evaluate parturition induced by various dosages of luprostiol compared with those of lutalyse or vehicle. Sows were assigned by random allotment to one of the following treatments on Day 112 of gestation: Group A, control (0 mg luprostiol); Group B (1.88 mg luprostiol); Group C (3.75 mg luprostiol); Group D (7.5 mg luprostiol); Group E (15 mg luprostiol); Group F (10 mg lutalyse). All prostaglandin-treated groups farrowed earlier than the controls (P<0.05), with Groups D (26.3 h), E (31.0 h) and F (25.8 h) having the shortest treatment-to-first-pig intervals, and Groups A (76.0 h), B (54.4 h) and C (40.0 h) having the longest intervals. Luprostiol-treated sows had the shortest farrowing time (P<0.05; range = 3.2 to 3.9 h). Significant differences were found for the time (min) between births: Group A (32.1), Group B (28.4), Group F (35.5) took longer than Group C (20.2), Group D (21.0) and Group E (21.6). In a second trial, 20 crossbred pregnant sows received either vehicle or luprostiol (7.5 mg) on Day 112 of gestation. Progesterone concentrations declined rapidly (P<0.05) in luprotiol treated females but were unchanged in control females during the 24-h collection period. The results of these trials show 7.5 mg luprostiol to be the most effective dose for inducing farrowing.  相似文献

The study was conducted to investigate the effects of different levels of eucalyptus powder (EP), virginiamycin and probiotic on performance, immunity, blood components and carcass traits of broiler chickens. A total of 250, 1-day-old male broiler chickens (Ross 308) were randomly allocated to five treatments with five replicates and 10 chicks each, as a completely randomized design. The dietary treatments consisted of: basal diet (BD), BD+0.25% EP, BD+0.5% EP, BD+0.01% of diet probiotic (Protexin), BD+0.02% of diet antibiotic (virginiamycin). Dietary supplementation did not affect feed intake, BW gain (BWG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) during starter and grower phases, but BWG and FCR were affected during the finisher and whole periods (P<0.05).The highest BWG and lowest FCR were obtained in birds fed with virginiamycin and 0.5% EP. Dietary supplementation significantly increased the relative weight of carcass and breast (P<0.05). Treatments had no effect on relative weights of internal organs and small intestine except for bursa that increased by treatments. Relative length of jejunum also increased by treatments (P<0.05). Antibody production against sheep red blood cells did not changed in primary titer (day 35), but it significantly increased in secondary titer (day 42) by 0.5% EP. White blood cell counts were increased and cholesterol decreased by dietary supplementation (P<0.05). In conclusion, the results of this study showed that 0.5% EP served as a useful replacement for antibiotic and would improve performance and immune response of broiler chickens.  相似文献

Best Management Practices (BMPs) are one of the most effective methods to control nonpoint source (NPS) pollution at a watershed scale. In this paper, the use of a topography analysis incorporated optimization method (TAIOM) was proposed, which integrates topography analysis with cost-effective optimization. The surface status, slope and the type of land use were evaluated as inputs for the optimization engine. A genetic algorithm program was coded to obtain the final optimization. The TAIOM was validated in conjunction with the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) in the Yulin watershed in Southwestern China. The results showed that the TAIOM was more cost-effective than traditional optimization methods. The distribution of selected BMPs throughout landscapes comprising relatively flat plains and gentle slopes, suggests the need for a more operationally effective scheme, such as the TAIOM, to determine the practicability of BMPs before widespread adoption. The TAIOM developed in this study can easily be extended to other watersheds to help decision makers control NPS pollution.  相似文献

A field trial was carried out to evaluate different application techniques for crop penetration and biological efficacy of aphid control in Brussels sprouts. Six different application techniques were tested at a pressure of 4.0 bar in a field trial in 3 parallels at the Provincial Vegetable Research Centre in Kruishoutem (PCG): a standard ISO 02 flat fan nozzle (at 200 l/ha), an ISO 04 twin air inclusion nozzle (at 800 l/ha), an ISO 03 drift reducing nozzle, an air injection nozzle (Airjet,) droplegs in combination with an ISO 03 drift reducing nozzle and an ISO 03 air inclusion nozzle (all at 400 l/ha). Best biological control of the aphids and spray distribution was found for the twin air inclusion nozzle, the air inclusion nozzle and the airjet-system. These are all drift reducing techniques because of their coarse droplet size spectrum or the effect of air support which makes the droplets faster. Both effects improve crop penetration. No added value was found for the droplegs for this type of spray treatments. Fine droplets, produced by a standard flat fan, did not give good results on biological control or penetration into the crop.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of low to moderate oral exposure to the Fusarium toxin deoxynivalenol (DON; derived from culture material) on performance, water intake, and carcass parameters of broilers during early and late developmental phases. A total of 160 Ross 308 broilers were randomly allocated to four different feeding groups (n = 40/group) including 0 (control), 2.5, 5, and 10 mg DON/kg wheat-soybean meal-based feed. Three consecutive replicates of the experiment were performed. Half of the broilers were slaughtered in week 3 of the trial whereas the other half were slaughtered in week 5. Dry matter intake (DMI) and water intake (WI) were recorded on a daily basis and the body weight (BW) and BW gain (BWG) were determined weekly. The following carcass traits were recorded and calculated in absolute and relative data: dressed carcass weight, breast muscle weight, leg weight, and liver weight. Data showed that BW (P < 0.001), BWG (P = 0.005), and DMI (P < 0.001) were reduced by DON-feeding during the entire feeding period. The ratio of DMI to body weight gain (DMI/BWG) was not affected by the treatment. However, the ratio of water to DMI (WI/DMI) increased in DON-treated birds (P = 0.021). Contrast analysis showed that DON tendentially reduced slaughter weight (P = 0.082) and decreased leg yield (P = 0.037) in DON-fed chickens in week 5 of the experiment. Liver organ weight decreased in the 3-week-old DON-fed broilers compared to that in the control-fed birds (P = 0.037). In conclusion, the study suggests that DMI and BW were negatively affected under the experimental conditions at DON levels lower than the current guidance value in the European Union of 5 mg/kg feed. The study also indicates that broilers fed on low to moderate level DON-contaminated diets showed increased WI/DMI ratio which might have negative influence on wet litter syndrome.  相似文献

The objective of this meta-analysis was to develop and validate empirical equations predicting BW gain (BWG) and carcass traits of growing cattle from intake and diet composition variables. The modelling was based on treatment mean data from feeding trials in growing cattle, in which the nutrient supply was manipulated by wide ranges of forage and concentrate factors. The final dataset comprised 527 diets in 116 studies. The diets were mainly based on grass silage or grass silage partly or completely replaced by whole-crop silages, hay or straw. The concentrate feeds consisted of cereal grains, fibrous by-products and protein supplements. Mixed model regression analysis with a random study effect was used to develop prediction equations for BWG and carcass traits. The best-fit models included linear and quadratic effects of metabolisable energy (ME) intake per metabolic BW (BW0.75), linear effects of BW0.75, and dietary concentrations of NDF, fat and feed metabolisable protein (MP) as significant variables. Although diet variables had significant effects on BWG, their contribution to improve the model predictions compared with ME intake models was small. Feed MP rather than total MP was included in the final model, since it is less correlated to dietary ME concentration than total MP. None of the quadratic terms of feed variables was significant (P>0.10) when included in the final models. Further, additional feed variables (e.g. silage fermentation products, forage digestibility) did not have significant effects on BWG. For carcass traits, increased ME intake (ME/BW0.75) improved both dressing proportion (P<0.01) and carcass conformation (P<0.001) and increased (P<0.001) carcass fat score. Increased dietary CP concentration had no significant (P>0.10) effect on dressing proportion or carcass conformation score, but it increased (P<0.01) carcass fat score. The current study demonstrated that ME intake per BW0.75 was clearly the most important variable explaining the BWG response in growing cattle. The effect of increased ME supply displayed diminishing responses that could be associated with increased energy concentration of BWG, reduced diet metabolisability (proportion of ME of gross energy) and/or decreased efficiency of ME utilisation for growth with increased intake. Negative effects of increased dietary NDF concentration on BWG were smaller compared to responses that energy evaluation systems predict for energy retention. The present results showed only marginal effects of protein supply on BWG in growing cattle.  相似文献

Individuals behave differently regarding to biometric authentication systems. This fact was formalized in the literature by the concept of Biometric Menagerie, defining and labeling user groups with animal names in order to reflect their characteristics with respect to biometric systems. This concept was illustrated for face, fingerprint, iris, and speech modalities. The present study extends the Biometric Menagerie to online signatures, by proposing a novel methodology that ties specific quality measures for signatures to categories of the Biometric Menagerie. Such measures are combined for retrieving automatically writer categories of the extended version of the Biometric Menagerie. Performance analysis with different types of classifiers shows the pertinence of our approach on the well-known MCYT-100 database.  相似文献
