Changes in cardiac rhythm of rats in dehydration   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
80 mongrel rats were studied for peculiarities of the heart activity regulation in dehydration, conditions of the vegetative homeostasis being different. Data of the variation pulsometry were used. A sympathetic shift of the vegetative homeostasis was a common dehydration-caused response. The shift was significant in rats with an initial equilibrium of the vegetative homeostasis and prevailing parasympathetic effects. The survival rate of this group of rats was high. In the group of rats with the initial prevalence of a sympathetic tonus a short-term sympathetic shift was replaced by an increase of parasympathetic effects. The survival rate of this group was much lower. Therefore, rats with initial prevalence of the sympathetic compartment tonus of the vegetative nervous system are more labile to the effect of the dehydration stress.  相似文献

A method of variation pulsometry was used to determine the vegetative homeostasis state in 20 children aged from 4 to 14. Normotonic type of the cardiac rhythm regulation was observed in a group of children aged 4-5. In children aged 12-14 the effect of sympathetic area of the vegetative nervous system decreased while the effect of the parasympathetic one increased. The tension index, effect of the humoral regulation channel and the degree of cardiac rhythm control centralization decreased.  相似文献

The purpose of the present study was to elucidate the stages of skeletal maturation of the maxilla and the mandible at the time of soft tissue palatal closure. Similar studies were not found in the literature. This investigation was based on maxillae and mandibles from 19 human embryos/fetuses selected by visual inspection of palatal structures, eight fetuses "just before palatal closure," and 11 fetuses "just after palatal closure." The findings are related to formerly described skeletal developmental stages in the maxilla, to stages in the symphysis menti region, and to development in the mandibular condylar region. The present study revealed that elevation of the palatal shelves takes place at a specific stage of maxillary skeletal maturity (stage Max III), at a time of mandibular development characterized by absence of condylar cartilage and by constancy in symphysis menti maturity (stage SM I). Knowledge of the normal sequence of prenatal skeletal development is considered essential for understanding the abnormal sequence of skeletal development.  相似文献

Growth of nine field grown cowpea genotypes was characterized using plastochron index. Attainment of the final plastochron index was considered as a point of completion of a vegetative phase. The population under study completed a vegetative phase within 50 d and exhibited flower initiation in 55 d. The gap between completion of the vegetative phase and flower initiation indicated the prevalence of juvenility in cowpea. The maturity period was found to be a sum of the periods for plastochron completion, lag I, pod development and lag II. Lag I and Lag-II periods existed due to variation in the relative sensitivity of successively formed leaves to the normal inductive conditions. A high genotypic variation for the two lag periods indicated a scope for designing an efficient plant architecture of cowpea either for grain or for vegetable purpose.  相似文献

Previous investigations of prenatal development of the human cranium have not identified the sequence of its ossification. The purpose of the present study was to elucidate the pattern of skeletal maturity of the cranial bones in the midsagittal region anterior to the foramen magnum. This study is based upon a radiographic and histochemical investigation of midsagittal tissue blocks of the cranial bases of 73 human fetuses derived from the first half of the prenatal period. A marked regularity in the ossification pattern of the bones in the midsagittal part of the human cranium was observed. Ossification starts in the frontal bone. The sequence in which the next bones ossify is occipital bone, basisphenoid bone, presphenoid bone, and ethmoid bone. The material was divided into 7 maturity stages devised for this analysis. The stages were related to general fetal size (crown-rump length) and to general fetal maturation (composite number of ossified bones in hand and foot). Skeletal development of the median part of the human cranium is not strictly correlated with the size or the stage of general maturation of the fetuses. Knowledge of normal skeletal development is necessary for understanding anomalies of development.  相似文献

In this study, we investigated the way in which fetal insulin secretion is influenced by interrelated changes in blood glucose and sympathoadrenal activity. Experiments were conducted in late gestation sheep fetuses prepared with chronic peripheral and adrenal catheters. The fetus mounted a brisk insulin response to hyperglycemia but with only a minimal change in the glucose-to-insulin ratio, indicating a tight coupling between insulin secretion and plasma glucose. In well-oxygenated fetuses, alpha(2)-adrenergic blockade by idazoxan effected no change in fetal insulin concentration, indicating the absence of a resting sympathetic inhibitory tone for insulin secretion. With hypoxia, fetal norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine secretion and plasma NE increased markedly; fetal insulin secretion decreased strikingly with the degree of change related to extant plasma glucose concentration. Idazoxan blocked this effect showing the hypoxic inhibition of insulin secretion to be mediated by a specific alpha(2)-adrenergic mechanism. alpha(2)-Blockade in the presence of sympathetic activation secondary to hypoxic stress also revealed the presence of a potent beta-adrenergic stimulatory effect for insulin secretion. However, based on an analysis of data at the completion of the study, this beta-stimulatory mechanism was seen to be absent in all six fetuses that had been subjected to a prior experimentally induced hypoxic stress but in only one of nine fetuses not subjected to this perturbation. We speculate that severe hypoxic stress in the fetus may, at least in the short term, have a residual effect in suppressing the beta-adrenergic stimulatory mechanism for insulin secretion.  相似文献

In teratogenic studies toxic effects may manifest themselves in retarded fetal development, such as a reduction in fetal weight. In searching for an additional index, the number of centers of ossification in seven skeletal districts (sternum, metacarpus, metatarsus, cervical and caudal vertebrae, anterior and posterior proximal phalanges) of rat fetuses delivered on days 19, 20 and 21 of gestation were counted and compared. Results showed uneven ossification in day-19 and -20 fetuses, but sufficiently advanced, homogeneous and uniform ossification in day-21 fetuses to provide a reliable quantitative index for evaluating retarded fetal development. It is therefore proposed that the stage of skeletal ossification in day-21 fetuses be used in teratogenic studies in the rat to evaluate retarded fetal development.  相似文献

Bot. 38: 124–139 The duration of the vegetative phase (DVP) in millet, whichis the major cause of variation in the crop duration, has markedeffects on the number of productive tillers per plant and onmainshoot (MS) and tiller grain yield. Daylength extensionswere used to vary the DVP and the effect on factors affectingpanicle (tiller) number per plant and panicle yield examinedin millet hybrid 841A x J104, grown in the field at Hyderabad,India. Tiller appearance, shoot leaf appearance and leaf area,and stem and panicle growth, in both MS and primary tillers(PTs), were monitored at frequent intervals over the season.At maturity grain yield per shoot was measured The concept of thermal time was used to describe shoot development.The rates of tiller appearance and shoot leaf appearance werelinearly related to thermal time and were not affected by DVPtreatments. The duration of the growth phase from panicle initiationto flowering (GS2) and from flowering to maturity (GS3) was320 and 390 degree days (°Cd), respectively. There was nodifference in rates of leaf or tiller appearance or developmentbetween MS and PTs. Tiller appearance, tiller leaf appearanceand tiller apical development all ceased at the same time inthe later initiated PTs, approximately 550 °Cd from sowing,shortly after rapid stem growth had begun. Tillers that didnot survive were all vegetative or in the early stages of reproductivedevelopment at this time The rate of accumulation of dry matter per plant was similarin all DVP treatments, but in the longer DVP treatments a greaterproportion of the dry matter was partitioned to the MS. Mainshootstem and panicle growth rates were increased by a longer DVP,as was grain yield on the MS, and these were related to increasedMS leaf area. Concurrently, growth rates and yields in laterinitiated tillers were reduced in relation to their leaf areas.Stem growth rate was proportionately increased more than paniclegrowth rate in the longer DVP treatments and this, combinedwith a longer duration of stem growth, resulted in greater stemdry matter at maturity and, therefore, in reduced harvest index.  相似文献

The development of sympathetic paravertebral ganglia was studied in rat embryos by electron microscopy. The main attention was paid to the initial stages of ganglion formation. The first aggregations of presumptive ganglionic cells were observed in 12 day-old embryos. Single preganglionic terminals appeared in contact with cell bodies sometime later. The appearance of large granular vesicles in the cytoplasm is the first ultrastructural feature of the beginning of neural differentiation of cells. Small granulated cells observed from the 12th day of gestation and neuroblasts differentiate earlier than glial cells. In the ganglia of late fetuses nerve cells varied in the electron density of the cytoplasm, in the degree of distention of rough endoplasmic reticulum and in vacuolization of mitochondria.  相似文献

We aimed to determine the effects of the electrocortical (ECoG) cycle on fetal heart rate and its autonomic control under normoxaemic and hypoxaemic conditions. Heart rate was measured and selective pharmacological blockade was used to quantify sympathetic and parasympathetic tone in low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) ECoG. We studied 3 groups of fetal lambs: 6 normal-sized, normoxaemic fetuses (control); 5 growth-retarded, normoxaemic carunclectomy fetuses (carunclectomy-normoxaemic); and 5 growth-retarded, hypoxaemic carunclectomy fetuses (carunclectomy-hypoxaemic). We found slower heart rate in LV compared to HV ECoG in all groups. This was explained by greater parasympathetic tone in LV in all groups, and by a complementary change of sympathetic tone in control fetuses. Hypoxaemic fetuses had slower heart rate than normoxaemic fetuses in both ECoG states. This was due to augmented parasympathetic tone (in LV ECoG) and reduced sympathetic tone (in LV and HV ECoG). We conclude that complementary changes of autonomic tone underly the normal variation of fetal heart rate with the ECoG cycle, with the parasympathetic arm dominant in LV and the sympathetic arm dominant in HV ECoG. In chronic hypoxaemia, complementary changes of autonomic tone contribute to slowing of fetal heart rate. Increased parasympathetic tone and decreased sympathetic tone may enhance cardiac efficiency when the oxygen supply is chronically reduced.  相似文献

1. The osteogenesis of the cranium was studied on a precisely dated embryological and postnatal material from merino-sheep and goats (crossbreed). 2. The order and duration of the appearance of ossification centers were determined (see Fig. 6). 3. It was noticed that, in small ruminants, the beginning of cranial ossification indifferent to other parts of the skeleton is not staged in time. Sexual dimorphism was only manifested by larger proportions of the male fetuses. An exception was noted only in os interparietale, which in male fetuses appeared 4 to 5 days later in male fetuses. 4. Summary Adrenal glands of human fetuses were investigated by means of an immunohistochemical method with the use of an anti-S-100 serum. S-100-immunoreactivity was recognized in sustentacular cells located among the chromaffin cells. A characteristic circular arrangement of the immunostained cells was found in the central region of the adrenal glands. It surrounded aggregations of non-argyrophilic, small, round cells, which were identified as the remaining sympathoblasts (primitive sympathetic cells).  相似文献

Mathematical analysis of the heart rate in foetuses reveals the progressive development of regulatory mechanisms which account for fetal maturity. The decrease in sympathetic tonic mechanisms, the onset and development of normo- and vagotonic mechanisms of regulation of chronotropic function of the heart were revealed in postnatal ontogenesis. Phasic structure of regulatory processes during the increase in loading was observed in the organism of children, infants and young subjects.  相似文献

Soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr. cv. Essex) was grown in an unshaded greenhouse under three levels of biologically effective ultraviolet-B (UV-BBE) radiation (effective daily dose: 0, 11.5 and 13.6 kJ m–2) for 91 days. Plants were harvested at regular intervals beginning 10 days after germination until reproductive maturity. Mathematical growth analysis revealed that the effects of UV-B radiation varied with plant growth stage. The transition period between vegetative and reproductive growth was the most sensitive to UV-B radiation. Intermediate levels of UV-B had deleterious effects on plant height, leaf area, and total plant dry weight at late vegetative and reproductive stages of development. Specific leaf weight increased during vegetative growth but was unaffected by UV-B during reproductive growth stages. Relative growth, net assimilation, and stem elongation rates were decreased by UV-B radiation during vegetative and early reproductive growth stages. Variation in plant responses may be due in part to changes in microclimate within the plant canopy or to differences in repair or protection mechanisms at differing developmental stages.  相似文献

The development of so-called long bones in the extremity has been studied roentgenographically in forty-seven males and fifty-one females cynomolgus monkeys bred and reared at the National Institute of Health. The age of the females ranged from five months to eight years and nine months, and that of the males was from four months to seven years. In addition, the fetuses of six to twenty weeks of gestation age were examined for the time of appearance of ossification centers. As the biological parameters concerning body growth, the body weight and the bone length were measured and the secondary ossification centers were scrutinized and assessed the maturity process on the basis of the criteria that divided the state into eleven stages. Also the allometric analyses of body weight against bone length was conducted. Most of the secondary ossification centers except the proximal fibulal epiphysis appeared during the period from the prenatal stage (15-20 weeks of gestationage) to the postnatal one (several months of age). From four to five months of age, many ossification centers had developed to some extent. But, the appearance of proximal fibulal epiphysis was delayed and often lacking until 10 months of age in female and one year and three months of age in male. The earliest epiphyseal fusion was observed at the distal humeral epiphysis in both sexes. The latest epiphyseal fusion was observed at the distal ulnal epiphysis in both sexes and at the distal ulnal and radial epiphyses in female. From this study, the time of fusion was at five and three guarters years of age in females and at six and a half years of age in males. As a result, it is suggested that the estimation of animal's age might be put to practical use by introducing the assessing method that the score was given from the observation of the secondary ossification center.  相似文献

The present study in dogs indicates that the peripheral sympathetic fibers develop mostly after birth and reach a full maturity at about 2 months of life. The norepinephrine content of the heart, spleen, intestine, salivary glands, and adrenal glands increased from birth to 56 days of age. In contrast, the content of the stellate ganglia decreased during this period. In most of the organs studied, the uptake of [3H] norepinephrine developed in parallel with the norepinephrine content, except in the right atrium and salivary glands where it was fully developed soon after birth. During development, the systemic blood pressure increased from 40 to 100 mm Hg. Bilateral adrenal vessel clamping failed to induce a fall in blood pressure in growing dogs which indicates that the adrenal medulla or the baroreceptors did not fully compensate for the lack of peripheral sympathetic fibers and for the lower blood pressure in newborn animals. Although cardiac norepinephrine content was still very low in 10-day-old animals, cardiovascular responses to direct and reflex sympathetic stimulation were similar to those observed in 56-day-old animals. These results indicate that the sympathetic nervous system becomes functional before the fibers reach their full maturity.  相似文献

In studies of postnatal human development the skeletal maturation of the hand has been found to be a better indicator of general physical maturation than attained body height. For assessment of prenatal human development the Crown-rump length (CRL) has so far been the most commonly used measure. The object of the present study is to examine the possibility of also using the skeletal maturation of the hand as a maturity indicator in fetal development. The study is based upon a radiographic and histochemical investigation of 169 human fetuses. On the basis of counting silver-impregnated diaphyses on radiographs of the hand and foot a maturity indicator (CNO = Composite Number of Ossified bones in hand and foot) was established. Owing to the marked regularity of the recorded ossification pattern, the CNO parameter can be used for evaluating fetal maturation during the early half of the prenatal period. To supplement the assessment of skeletal maturation during the later stages of development, a classification based on the shape of some bones was included in the study. In many cases fetuses of the same size (CRL) exhibited different stages of skeletal maturation (CNO). In accordance with findings from assessment of postnatal development, a more accurate evaluation of fetal development is obtained by combining the size parameter CRL with an assessment of fetal skeletal maturation, CNO.  相似文献

珠芽是弥勒魔芋的一种重要营养繁殖器官。以弥勒魔芋为材料,通过形态学观察以及解剖学研究,揭示了弥勒魔芋珠芽形成过程中的一系列特征。结果显示:弥勒魔芋珠芽生长于植株叶柄分叉以及裂叶分叉处,由主干茎或主干叶柄表皮下的薄壁细胞重新获得分裂能力后分化而来。珠芽的发育过程可分为珠芽原基启动形成期,珠芽膨大期和珠芽成熟期。珠芽的生长终止于植株衰老倒伏。研究表明,弥勒魔芋的珠芽生长位点明显区别于其他常见植物,珠芽繁殖是魔芋适应生态环境的一种重要机制。  相似文献

Breeding for high seed protein concentration in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] often results in lower yield, but the basis for this negative relationship is not well understood. To address this question, we evaluated the N acquisition characteristics of three high protein and three normal soybean genotypes in the field for 3 years. Plants were grown in 0.76 m rows following conventional cultural practices and water stress was minimized with sprinkler irrigation. We determined the mass and N concentration of leaves, petioles and stems at the beginning of seed filling (growth stage R5) and of stems at maturity. The N concentration of abscised leaves and petioles was also determined. There was significant variation among genotypes in total seed N (g m−2) at maturity (range from 14.7 to 24.4 g N m−2) as a result of variation in seed N concentration and yield. There was no evidence that the larger amounts of mature seed N were associated with a larger vegetative N reservoir at growth stage R5 as determined by vegetative mass at R5 or the concentration of N in vegetative tissues. Increasing seed N at maturity did not lower the N concentration in abscised leaves and petioles, or in the stems at maturity. The rate and timing of leaf senescence (loss of chlorophyll) was essentially the same for all genotypes. With no increase in the contribution from redistributed N, increases in N uptake or fixation during seed filling must have been responsible for the higher levels of seed N at maturity in high-protein genotypes. These data suggest that increasing total seed N at maturity by selecting for higher seed protein concentration or higher yield in soybean does not require, as some models suggest, a larger vegetative N reservoir at the beginning of seed filling or more rapid senescence.  相似文献

The genetic basis of plant height at various growth stages and the degree of indetermination of plant height in six mungbean genotypes (NM 92, 6601, NM 89, VC 1560D and VC 3902A) were assessed through half diallel cross. Cultivars, 6601 and NM 92, were the best general combiner for pre-flowering dry matter accumulation and minimum increase in plant height from first flower to 90% pods maturity, respectively. For these traits, the combination NM 92 x NM 89 was the best specific combiner of all the crosses. Both additive and dominant gene effects controlled the inheritance of plant height at first pod and to 90% pods maturity, degree of indetermination of plant height (DDh) from first flower to first pod maturity (DDh1), DDh from first flower to 90% pods maturity (DDh2) and DDh from first pod maturity to 90% pods maturity (DDh3). Plant height at first flower was additively inherited. The additive gene action was predominant as compared to dominant gene action for all the traits examined. High narrow and broad sense heritability estimates for DDh2 showed that better response to selection is possible for the development of mungbean genotypes with minimum increase in plant height during post-flowering development.  相似文献
