Summary The effect of chloride on 4,4-dibenzamido-2,2-disulfonic stilbene (DBDS) binding to band 3 in unsealed red cell ghost membranes was studied in buffer [NaCl (0 to 500mm) + Na citrate] at constant ionic strength (160 or 600mm). pH 7.4, 25°C. In the presence of chloride, DBDS binds to a single class of sites on band 3. At 160mm ionic strength, the dissociation constant of DBDS increases linearly with chloride concentration in the range [Cl]=450mm. The observed rate of DBDS binding to ghost membranes, as measured by fluorescence stopped-flow kinetic experiments, increases with chloride concentration at both 160 and 600mm ionic strength. The equilibrium and kinetic results have been incorporated into the following model of the DBDS-band 3 interaction: The equilibrium and rate constants of the model at 600mm ionic strength areK 1=0.67±0.16 m,k 2=1.6±0.7 sec–1,k –2=0.17±0.09 sec–1,K 1=6.3±1.7 m,k 2=9±4 sec–1 andk –2=7±3 sec–1. The apparent dissociation constants of chloride from band 3,K Cl, are 40±4mm (160mm ionic strength) and 11±3mm (600mm ionic strength). Our results indicate that chloride and DBDS have distinct, interacting binding sites on band 3.  相似文献

Characterization of the phosphate transport system across the basolateral membrane of renal proximal tubule has been attempted using isolated proximal tubule cells prepared from chicks. The Pi efflux system is independent of Na+ ions and is not influenced by the nature of the chief anion present in the bathing medium. Pi efflux is not sensitive to DIDS and it is concluded that a generalized anion transporter of band III type is not the chief agent for facilitating Pi exit from the cell across the basolateral membrane. Inhibition of efflux by vanadate is evidence for a specific carrier protein in the membrane. The carrier probably possesses thiol group(s) that are essential for activity. The carrier may effect electroneutral transport of Pi possibly in exchange for OH- ions. The activity of the transport process is not stimulated by depleting the cells of phosphate or inhibited by rearing the chicks on a vitamin D-deficient diet. The system is unlikely to be of great importance for the expression of various regulatory mechanisms that act on the kidney to control the excretion of Pi. The activity declines as the chicks mature however.  相似文献

Summary The osmotic water permeabilityP f of brush border (BBM) and basolateral (BLM) membrane vesicles from rat small intestine and renal cortex was studied by means of stopped-flow spectrophotometry. Scattered light intensity was used to follow vesicular volume changes upon osmotic perturbation with hypertonic mannitol solutions. A theoretical analysis of the relationship of scattered light intensity and vesicular volume justified a simple exponential approximation of the change in scattered light intensity. The rate constants extracted from fits to an exponential function were proportional to the final medium osmolarity as predicted by theory. For intestinal membranes, computer analysis of optical responses fitted well with a single-exponential treatment. For renal membranes a double-exponential treatment was needed, implying two distinct vesicle populations.P f values for BBM and BLM preparations of small intestine were equal and amount to 60 m/sec. For renal preparations,P f values amount to 600 m/sec for the fast component, BBM as well as BLM, and to 50 (BBM) and 99 (BLM) m/sec for the slow component. The apparent activation energy for water permeation in intestinal membranes was 13.3±0.6 and in renal membranes, 1.0±0.3 kCal/mole, between 25 and 35°C. The mercurial sulfhydryl reagentpCMBS inhibited completely and reversibly the highP f value in renal brush border preparations. These observations suggest that in intestinal membranes water moves through the lipid matrix but that in renal plasma membranes water channels may be involved. From the highP f values of renal membrane vesicles a transcellular water permeability for proximal tubules can be calculated which amounts to 1 cm/sec. This value allows for an entirely transcellular route for water flow during volume reabsorption.  相似文献

Summary The interaction between chloride and the anion transport inhibitor DNDS (4,4-dinitro stilbene-2,2-disulfonate) at the external anion binding site of the human erythrocyte anion transporter was examined by two techniques: a) chloride tracer flux experiments in the presence of varying concentrations of DNDS, and b) DNDS equilibrium binding experiments in the presence of varying concentrations of intracellular and extracellular chloride, Cl i and Cl o . DNDS inhibited competitively the Cl o -stimulated chloride efflux from intact red cells at 0°C and pH 7.8 with an inhibitor constant of 90nm. Under the same conditions DNDS bound reversibly to one class of binding sites on intact cells with a capacity of 8.5×105 molecules/cell. Cl o competitively inhibited DNDS binding with an inhibitor constant of 6mm. In the absence of Cl o the DNDS binding constant was 84mm. The competition between chloride and DNDS was also tested in nystatintreated cells in which Cl o always equaled Cl i . Under these conditions the values of the DNDS binding constant and the chloride inhibitor constant were significantly larger. All these data were in quantitative agreement with a single-site, alternating access kinetic scheme with ping-pong-type kinetics that we have previously developed for modeling chloride exchange transport. The data also served to rule out special cases of an alternative two-sited sequential-type kinetic scheme. DNDS binding experiments were also performed at 10 and 20°C. We found that neither the DNDS binding constant nor the Cl o inhibitor constant were significantly changed compared to 0°C.  相似文献

The binding site for 4,4′-diisothiocyano-2,2′-stilbenedisulfonic acid, a specific, potent, irreversible inhibitor of anion transport in red blood cells is located in a 15 000 dalton transmembrane segment of band 3, produced by chymotrypsin treatment of ghosts stripped of extrinsic proteins. The segment was cleaved into three fragments of 7000, 4000 and 4000 daltons by CNBr. The C-terminus of the segment is located in the 7000 dalton fragment; the N-terminus in one of the 4000 dalton fragments; and the binding site for 4,4′-diisothiocyano-2,2′-stilbenedisulfonic acid in the middle 4000 dalton fragment. The latter was cleaved by N-bromosuccinimide into two fragments of 2000 daltons. The binding site for 4,4′-diisothiocyano-2,2′-stilbenedisulfonic acid was located on the fragment containing the newly formed N-terminus. It is concluded that the binding site is located about 9000 daltons from the C-terminus (at the outside face of the membrane) and 6000 daltons from the N-terminus (at the cytoplasmic face). In view of the existing evidence that the binding site may be located near the outside face of the membrane, it is suggested that the 15 000 dalton segment is folded, so that it crosses the bilayer three times.  相似文献

Summary The purpose of this study was to characterize the basolateral membrane of the S3 segment of the rabbit proximal tubule using conventional and ion-selective microelectrodes. When compared with results from S1 and S2 segments, S3 cells under control conditions have a more negative basolateral membrane potential (V bl=–69 mV), a higher relative potassium conductance (t K=0.6), lower intracellular Na+ activity (A Na=18.4mm), and higher intracellular K+ activity (A K=67.8mm). No evidence for a conductive sodium-dependent or sodium-independent HCO 3 pathway could be demonstrated. The basolateral Na–K pump is inhibited by 10–4 m ouabain and bath perfusion with a potassium-free (0-K) solution. 0-K perfusion results inA Na=64.8mm,A K=18.5mm, andV bl=–28 mV. Basolateral potassium channels are blocked by barium and by acidification of the bathing medium. The relative K+ conductance, as evaluated by increasing bath K+ to 17mm, is dependent upon the restingV bl in both S2 and S3 cells. In summary, the basolateral membrane of S3 cells contains a pump-leak system with similar properties to S1 and S2 proximal tubule cells. The absence of conductive bicarbonate pathways results in a hyperpolarized cell and larger Na+ and K+ gradients across the cell borders, which will influence the transport properties and intracellular ion activities in this tubule segment.  相似文献

Summary Conventional microelectrodes were used to study the effects of SITS (4-acetamido-4-isothiocyanostilbene-2,2-disulfonate) on the basolateral membrane potentialVbl of the superficial proximal straight tubule (PST) of the rabbit kidney perfusedin vitro. Addition of 0.1mm SITS to the bathing solution resulted in a slow and irreversible hyperpolarization ofVbl from –42.5±1.17 (37) mV to –77.3±0.83 (52) mV. The new steady-state potential was reached in 10 to 15 min and was accompanied by visible cell swelling. Associated with thisVbl hyperpolarization was: 1) an increased steady-state depolarization (from 6.2±0.77 (17) mV to 25.7±0.83 (29) mV) in response to increasing bath potassium concentration from 5 to 16.7mm (HK); 2) a decreased transient depolarization (from 19.8±1.88 (8) mV to 0.43±0.37 (8) mV) in response to decreasing bath bicarbonate concentration from 22 to 6.6mm at constant bath pH (L-HCO3); and 3) inhibition of a depolarizing overshoot and a decreased steady-state depolarization (from 35.9±1.84 (12) mV to 4.7±1.37 (13) mV) in response to reducing bath sodium concentration from 144 to zero (0-Na). Sodium, chloride and NMDG (N-methyl-d-glucamine) were used as the substituting ions, respectively. These results are consistent with the presence of a coupled sodium-bicarbonate carrier in the basolateral membrane which is electrogenic and SITS inhibitable. Comparison of the time course of SITS effects on these ion-substitution responses suggests that the inhibition of the bicarbonate exit pathway(s) is the primary event and that the changes inVbl and in the steady-stateVbl responses to HK and 0-Na are secondary events which may be related to changes in intracellular composition and/or basolateral membrane properties.  相似文献

Organic anions of diverse chemical structures are secreted in renal proximal tubules. The first step in secretion, uptake of organic anions across the basolateral membrane of tubule cells, is mediated for the polyspecific organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1), which exchanges extracellular organic anions for intracellular α-ketoglutarate or glutarate. OAT1 orthologs cloned from various species show 12 putative transmembrane domains and possess several sites for potential post-translational modification. The gene for the human OAT1 is located on chromosome 11q13.1 and is composed of 10 exons. Alternative splicing within exon 9 gives rise to four variants, two of which (OAT1-1 and OAT1-2) are functional. Following heterologous expression in Xenopus laevis oocytes, flounder renal OAT1 transported p-aminohippurate, glutarate, several diuretics, and the nephrotoxic agent ochratoxin A. Two cationic amino acid residues, lysine 394 and arginine 478, were found to be important for interaction with glutarate. Anionic neurotransmitter metabolites and the heavy-metal chelator, 2,3-dimercaptopropane sulfonate, interacted with the rabbit renal OAT1, which is expressed in kidneys and the retina.  相似文献

Summary Two methods, the measurement of the response of the basolateral membrane potential (V bl) of proximal tubule cells ofNecturus to step changes in basolateral K+ concentration, and cellular cable analysis, were used to assess the changes in basolateral potassium conductance (G K) caused by a variety of maneuvers. The effects of some of these maneuvers on intracellular K+ activity (a K i ) were also evaluated using double-barreled ion-selective electrodes. Perfusion with 0mm K+ basolateral solution for 15 min followed by 45 min of 1mm K+ solution resulted in a fall in basolateral potassium (apparent) transference number (t K),V bl anda K i . Results of cable analysis showed that total basolateral resistance,R b , rose. The electrophysiological effects of additional manipulations, known to inhibit net sodium reabsorption across the proximal tubular epithelium ofNecturus, were also investigated. Ouabain caused a fall int K accompanied by large decreases ina K i andV bl. Lowering luminal sodium caused a fall int K and a small reduction inV bl. Selective reduction of peritubular sodium, a maneuver that has been shown to block sodium transport from lumen to peritubular fluid, also resulted in a significant decrease int K. These results suggest thatG K varies directly with rate of transport of the sodium pump, irrespective of the mechanism of change in pump turnover.Part of this material has been presented at the 10th International Conference on Biological Membranes (Cohen & Giebisch, 1984).  相似文献

Summary The method of the measurement of the nonelectrogenic fluxes of hydrogen (or hydroxyl) ions (J H) based on the local proton gradients formation in the unstirred layers near a bilayer lipid membrane (BLM) is applied for recording the nonelectrogenic anion/OH exchange on BLM induced by tributyltin (TBT) and a novel carrier (Hager, A., Moser, I., & Berthold, W. 1987.Z. Naturforsch.,42C1116–1120), triethyllead (TEL). This method has been used previously for measuring the cation fluxes through BLM. TBT and TEL are shown to be equally efficient in the induction of Cl/OH exchange.J H induced by TBT is constant at 4J H decreases at pH<4 and pH>7. Both ionophores have a transport sequence: I> Br>Cl>F. The quatitative measurements reveal that TEL better discriminates these four anions than TBT. It is concluded that this method may prove helpful in a search and study of anion/OH-exchangers isolated from natural membranes.  相似文献

Summary Exposure of the mucosal side of toad(Bufo bufo) urinary bladder and frog(Rana ridibunda) skin to the polyene ionophore nystatin, resulted in stable preparations in which the apical resistance was negligible compared to the basolateral resistance. The preparations support passive K currents in both directions and an amiloride-insensitive Na current in the apicalserosal direction which is blocked by ouabain. The nystatintreated toad bladder was used to study the electrical properties of the basolateral membrane by means of current-voltage curves recorded transepithelially. The K current showed strong rectification at cellular potentials negative with respect to the interstitial space. The ouabain-sensitive current increased with membrane voltage at negative voltages but saturated above+20 mV.  相似文献

The basolateral membrane of the jejunal enterocyte of the rat was separated by self-orienting Percoll-gradient centrifugation and further purified from brush border contamination. Pellets were analysed for Mg-, Na- and (Na, K)-ATPase activities. The uptake of 0·02 M NaCl was also followed by the rapid micro-filtration technique. Transintestinal transport of fluid and electrolytes, and cell water, Na and K were determined in the in vitro everted and incubated jejunum. There is ouabain-insensitive Na-ATPase in addition to the well-known (Na, K)-ATPase in the basolateral membrane. These are differently inhibited by furosemide and ethacrynate. Na uptake by osmotically active basolateral membrane vesicles is enhanced by ATP and a further enhancement is obtained if there is intravesicular K. The ATP effect is inhibited differently by strophanthidin, furosemide and ethacrynate. In the everted sac preparation, transintestinal transport of Na and fluid still occurs when the Na/K pump is totally inhibited by ouabain. These experimental results suggest that there is also a ouabain-insensitive Na pump, different from the Na/K pump, in the basolateral membrane.  相似文献

Summary The basolateral potassium conductance of cells of most epithelial cells plays an important role in the transcellular sodium transport inasmuch as the large negative equilibrium potential of potassium across this membrane contributes to the electrical driving force for Na+ across the apical membrane. In the present study, we have attempted to establish, theI-V curve of the basolateral membrane of theAmphiuma collecting tubule, a membrane shown to be K+ selective. TransepithelialI-V curves were obtained in short, isolated perfused collecting tubule segments. The shunt conductance was determined using amiloride to block the apical membrane Na+ conductance. In symmetrical solutions, the shuntI-V curve was linear (conductance: 2.2±0.3 mS·cm–2). Transcellular current was calculated by subtracting the shunt current from the transepithelial current in the absence of amiloride. Using intracellular microelectrodes, it was then possible to measure the basolateral membrane potential simultaneously with the transcellular current. The basolateral conductance was found to be voltage dependent, being activated by hyperpolarization: conductance values at –30 and –80 mV were 3.6±1.0 and 6.6±1.0 mS·cm–2, respectively. BasolateralI-V curves were thus clearly different from that predicted by the constant field model. These results indicate that the K+-selective basolateral conductance of an amphibian collecting tubule shows inward (anomalous) rectification. Considering the electrogenic nature basolateral Na–K-pump, this may account for coupling between pump-generated potential and basolateral K+ conductance.  相似文献

We firstly characterized zinc uptake phenomenon across basolateral membrane vesicles (BLMVs) isolated from normal rat kidney. The process was found to be time, temperature, and substrate concentration dependent, and displayed saturability. Zn2+ uptake was competitively inhibited in the presence of 2 mM Cd with Ki of 3.9 mM. Zinc uptake was also inhibited in the presence of sulfhydryl reacting compound suggesting involvement of {–}SH groups in the transport process. Further, to elucidate the effect of in vivo Cd on zinc transport in BLMVs, Cd nephrotoxicity was induced by subcutaneous administration of CdCl2 at dose of 0.6 mg/kg/d for 5 days in a week for 12 weeks. An indolent renal failure developed in Cd exposed rats was accompanied with a significantly high urinary excretion of Cd2+, Zn2+ and proteins. The histopathology and electron microscopy of kidneys of Cd exposed rats documented changes of proximal tubular degeneration. Notably, Cd content in renal cortex of Cd exposed rats was 215 μg/g tissue that was higher than the critical concentration of Cd in kidneys which was associated with significantly higher Zn and metallothionein (MT) contents. Zinc uptake in BLMVs isolated from kidneys of Cd exposed rats was significantly reduced. Further, kinetic studies revealed that decrease in zinc uptake synchronized with decrease in maximal velocity (Vmax) and increase in affinity constant which is suggestive of decreased number of active zinc transporters. Furthermore, conformational modulation of Zn transporter in BLM was further supported by observed variation in transition temperature for zinc transport in BLMVs isolated from Cd-exposed kidney.  相似文献

The tripeptide GSH is important in maintenance of renal redox status and defense against reactive electrophiles and oxidants. Previous studies showed that GSH is transported across the basolateral plasma membrane (BLM) into the renal proximal tubule by both sodium-coupled and sodium-independent pathways. Substrate specificity and inhibitor studies suggested the function of several carriers, including organic anion transporter 3 (Oat3). To test the hypothesis that rat Oat3 can function in renal GSH transport, the cDNA for rat Oat3 was expressed as a His6-tagged protein in E. coli, purified from inclusion bodies and by Ni2+-affinity chromatography, and reconstituted into proteoliposomes. cDNA-expressed and reconstituted Oat3 transported both GSH and p-aminohippurate (PAH) in exchange for 2-oxoglutarate (2-OG) and 2-OG and PAH in exchange for GSH, and PAH uptake was inhibited by both probenecid and furosemide, consistent with function of Oat3. mRNA expression of Oat3 and several other potential carriers was detected by RT-PCR in rat kidney cortex but was absent from NRK-52E cells, a rat proximal tubular cell line. Basolateral uptake of GSH in NRK-52E cells showed little PAH- or 2-OG-stimulated uptake. We conclude that Oat3 can function in GSH uptake and that NRK-52E cells possess a low background rate of GSH uptake, making these cells a good model for overexpression of specific, putative GSH carriers.  相似文献

Summary Choline is a quaternary ammonium compound that is normally reabsorbed by the renal proximal tubule, despite its acknowledged role as a substrate for the renal organic cation (OC) secretory pathway. The basis for choline reabsorption was examined in studies of transport in rabbit renal brush-border membrane vesicles (BBMV). Although an outwardly directed H+ gradient (pH 6.0in 7.5out) stimulated uptake of tetraethylammonium (TEA), a model substrate of the OC/H+ exchanger in renal BBMV, it had no effect on uptake of 1 m choline. A 5 mm trans concentration gradient of choline did, however, drive countertransport of both TEA and choline, although trans TEA had no effect on choline accumulation in BBMV. A 20 mm concentration of unlabeled choline blocked uptake of both choline and TEA by >85%, whereas 20 mm TEA blocked only TEA uptake. The kinetics of choline uptake into vesicles preloaded with 1 mm unlabeled choline appeared to involve two, saturable transport processes, one of high affinity for choline (K t of 97 m) and a second of low affinity (K t of 10 mm), the latter presumably reflecting a weak interaction of choline with the OC/H+ exchanger. An inside-negative electrical PD stimulated the rate of uptake and supported the transient concentrative accumulation of choline in BBMV. The high affinity transporter showed a marked specificity for choline and closely related analogues. A model of the molecular determinants of substrate-transporter interaction is described. We conclude that the electrogenic high affinity pathway plays a central role in renal reabsorption of choline. We thank Dr. William Dantzler for helpful discussions. The organic anion salicylate is a plant secondary metabolite that can protect plants against herbivores. Transport of salicylate across the basolateral membrane of the Malpighian tubules of Drosophila melanogaster was studied using a radioisotope tracer technique. The uptake of [(14)C]salicylate by the Malpighian tubules was active, saturable and Na(+)-dependent; the maximum uptake rate (J(max)) and the half saturation concentration (K(t)) were 12.6 pmoltubule(-1)min(-1) and 30.7micromoll(-1), respectively. In contrast to organic anion transport by vertebrate renal tissues, salicylate uptake was not trans-stimulated by glutarate (0.01-1.0 mmoll(-1)) or cis-inhibited by high concentrations (5 mmoll(-1)) of various alpha-keto acids (glutaric acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, succinic acid, and citric acid). Changes in basolateral membrane potential or physiologically relevant changes in bathing saline pH did not affect the rate of [(14)C]salicylate uptake. Ring-structure monocarboxylic acids (benzoic acid, nicotinic acid, gentisic acid, unlabelled salicylic acid, alpha-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid, probenecid, fluorescein, and P-aminohippuric acid) strongly inhibited [(14)C]salicylate uptake rate. In contrast, short-chain monocarboxylic acids had little (butyric acid) or no effect (lactic acid, pyruvic acid, and propionic acid). Our results suggest that salicylate uptake across the basolateral membrane of D. melanogaster Malpighian tubules is mediated by a non-electrogenic, alpha-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid-sensitive, Na(+):salicylate cotransport system.  相似文献

Summary Exposing the apical membrane of toad urinary bladder to the ionophore nystatin lowers its resistance to less than 100 cm2. The basolateral membrane can then be studied by means of transepithelial measurements. If the mucosal solution contains more than 5mm Na+, and serosal Na+ is substituted by K+, Cs+, or N-methyl-d-glucamine, the basolateral membrane expresses what appears to be a large Na+ conductance, passing strong currents out of the cell. This pathway is insensitive to ouabain or vanadate and does not require serosal or mucosal Ca2+. In Cl-free SO 4 2– Ringer's solution it is the major conductive pathway in the basolateral membrane even though the serosal side has 60mm K+. This pathway can be blocked by serosal amiloride (K i=13.1 m) or serosal Na+ ions (K i 10 to 20mm). It also conducts Li+ and shows a voltage-dependent relaxation with characteristic rates of 10 to 20 rad sec–1 at 0 mV.  相似文献

Summary Phloridzin-insensitive, Na+-independentd-glucose uptake into isolated small intestinal epithelial cells was shown to be only partially inhibited by trypsin treatment (maximum 20%). In contrast, chymotrypsin almost completely abolished hexose transport. Basolateral membrane vesicles prepared from rat small intestine by a Percoll® gradient procedure showed almost identical susceptibility to treatment by these proteolytic enzymes, indicating that the vesicles are predominantly oriented outside-out. These vesicles with a known orientation were employed to investigate the kinetics of transport in both directions across the membrane. Uptake data (i.e. movement into the cell) showed aK t of 48mm and aV max of 1.14 nmol glucose/mg membrane protein/sec. Efflux data (exit from the cell) showed a lowerK t of 23mm and aV max of 0.20 nmol glucose/mg protein/sec.d-glucose uptake into these vesicles was found to be sodium independent and could be inhibited by cytochalasin B. TheK t for cytochalasin B as an inhibitor of glucose transport was 0.11 m and theK D for binding to the carrier was 0.08 m.d-glucose-sensitive binding of cytochalasin B to the membrane preparation was maximized withl- andd-glucose concentrations of 1.25m. Scatchard plots of the binding data indicated that these membranes have a binding site density of 8.3 pmol/mg membrane protein. These results indicate that the Na+-independent glucose transporter in the intestinal basolateral membrane is functionally and chemically asymmetric. There is an outward-facing chymotrypsin-sensitive site, and theK t for efflux from the cell is smaller than that for entry. These characteristics would tend to favor movement of glucose from the cell towards the bloodstream.  相似文献

Oligodendrocytes possess two distinct membrane compartments--uncompacted plasma membrane (cell body, processes) and compact myelin. Specific targeting mechanisms must exist to establish and maintain these membrane domains. Polarized epithelial cells have the best characterized system for targeting components to apical and basolateral compartments. Since oligodendrocytes arise from neuroepithelial cells, we investigated whether they might utilize targeting paradigms similar to polarized epithelial cells. Myelin/oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is a transmembrane Ig-like molecule restricted to uncompacted oligodendroglial plasma membrane. We stably expressed MOG in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) Type II epithelial cells, which have been extensively used in protein-targeting studies. Data from surface biotinylation assays and confocal microscopy revealed that MOG sorts exclusively to the basolateral membrane of MDCK cells. Expression vectors containing progressive truncations of MOG from the cytoplasmic C-terminus were expressed in MDCK cells to localize basolateral sorting signals. A loss of only four C-terminal residues results in some MOG expression at the apical surface. More strikingly, removal of the C-terminal membrane associated hydrophobic domain from MOG results in complete loss of basolateral sorting and specific targeting to the apical membrane. These data suggest that myelinating oligodendrocytes may utilize a sorting mechanism similar to that of polarized epithelia.  相似文献
