To detect divergence of the introduced fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea, within its trivoltine area in Japan, developmental traits were determined in the Kobe (34°41′N) and Kumamoto (32°48′N) populations. The lower threshold temperature for development was not different between these two populations. The thermal constant for larval development was considerably smaller in the Kobe population than in the Kumamoto population. Two types of larva occurred in these populations, one with six instars and the other with seven. In the six‐instar type, the developmental period was not different between the populations in males, but the pupal weight was greater and the forewing was longer in both sexes in the Kumamoto population than in the Kobe population. In the Kumamoto population, the seven‐instar type had a longer developmental period, heavier pupa and longer forewing than the six‐instar type. The proportion of the seven‐ to the six‐instar type was greater in the Kumamoto population than in the Kobe population, resulting in the longer developmental time and greater body size of the former.  相似文献

The fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea (Drury) (Lepidoptera: Arctiidae), is an invasive and important pest in China. Investigations on insect natural enemies have been conducted from 1996 to 1999 in five provinces and one municipality of China in order to select effective species for biological control. Two carabid predators (Coleoptera) and 25 parasitoid species were found, among which 23 were parasitic wasps (Hymenoptera), including five hyperparasitic species and two tachinid flies (Diptera). The two carabids preyed on young larvae inside webs, two braconid wasps parasitized larvae, and 18 parasitoid species attacked the fall webworm during the pupal and/or 'larval-pupal' stages. Among these parasitoids, there were one genus and nine species that are new to science and four species new to China, which were described and published by the senior author Yang. The average parasitism rates of fall webworm pupae were 25.8% and 16.1% in the overwintering generation and the first generation (summer generation), respectively. These findings reveal that these natural enemies play an important role in the natural control of the pest. Chouioia cunea Yang (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), a gregarious pupal endo-parasitoid, was recommended as a promising biological control agent against the fall webworm in China.  相似文献

The fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea Drury (Lepidoptera: Arctiidae), was introduced from North America to Japan half a century ago. The critical photoperiod for diapause induction and its temperature dependence, as defined by the difference in the critical photoperiod between 20 and 25°C, were investigated in order to understand the mechanisms behind a shift from bi- to trivoltine life cycles. The critical photoperiod for diapause induction was shorter in the southern trivoltine populations than in the northern bivoltine populations, and this was more marked at 25°C than at 20°C. Although the critical photoperiod showed a positive correlation with the original latitude, the correlation was relatively low at both temperatures. Conversely, temperature dependence of the critical photoperiod for diapause induction correlated negatively with the original latitude. The trivoltine populations showed greater temperature sensitivity than the bivoltine populations. These results suggest that an increase in temperature sensitivity of the diapause response to photoperiods was involved in the shift to a trivoltine life cycle. The crossing experiments suggested that the photoperiodic control of diapause induction and its temperature dependence are under polygenic control without sex-linkage. 美国白蛾Hyphantria cunea(Drury)是国家林业和草原局的重点防控对象,也是我国重大外来林业检疫性有害生物.现阶段美国白蛾在我国的种群密度持续增加和扩散,缺乏有效天敌的控制应该是重要的原因之一.本文综述了国内、外美国白蛾的捕食性和寄生性天敌的种类.捕食性天敌主要包括昆虫、蜘蛛、两栖类和鸟类,整理出国外报道的捕食性天敌名录119种,国内捕食性天敌名录29种;寄生性天敌主要包括寄生蜂和寄生蝇类,整理出国外报道的寄生性天敌名录47种,国内寄生性天敌名录53种.本文回顾了我国在美国白蛾天敌利用方面取得的阶段成果,并针对将来天敌复合体的应用和原产地天敌的引进提出了展望.  相似文献

为了解取食不同食料的美国白蛾Hyphantria cunea Drury幼虫肠道细菌多样性及差异性,本研究应用Illumina Hi Seq二代测序技术检测16S rDNA基因序列的方法分析以人工饲料、桑树Morus alba Linn和柳树Salix babylonica Linn为食的3种美国白蛾5龄幼虫肠道细菌类群结构、丰度差异和α多样性。共获得657 819对读数,聚成3 743个OTUs,注释到23个门,60个纲,90个目,143个科,196个属和58个种。科以上分类阶元,以两种植物为食的幼虫肠道的优势类群一致,但取食人工饲料的幼虫在各级分类水平与前者不同(门水平除外)。在属分类阶元,取食3种美国白蛾幼虫肠道菌群优势属各不相同,丰度最高分别为希瓦氏菌属Shewanella(12.81%)、葡萄球菌属Staphylococcus(7.86%)和芽孢杆菌属Bacillus(5.24%)。种水平上海藻希瓦氏菌Shewanella algae在3种食料的美国白蛾幼虫肠道中都有较高的丰度;松鼠葡萄球菌Staphylococcus sciuri在以桑树和柳树为食料的美国白蛾幼虫肠道中比例较高,但在以人工饲料的幼虫中比例很低。3种食料的幼虫共有的OUTs为228个,特有的OUTs分别为人工饲料145个、桑树160个和柳树138个。以上结论表明取食不同食料的美国白蛾幼虫的肠道细菌类群结构和丰度存在一定差异。α多样性指数表明美国白蛾幼虫肠道细菌群落具有较高的丰富度和多样性。为进一步探明其肠道细菌的功能以及对寄主的适应机制等方面的研究奠定基础。  相似文献

Storage protein-1 (SP-1) is a major storage protein found in the hemolymph and fat body of Hyphantria cunea. In this study, the uptake and accumulation of SP-1 into the ovary of H. cunea was investigated using biochemical and immunocytochemical methods. SP-1 in H. cunea has a high methionine content (4.6%) but is not female-specific, like other high methionine storage proteins. In the 6-day-old pupal ovary, SP-1 was detectable in trace amounts but accumulated to significant levels toward the end of the pupal stage. After adult emergence, SP-1 rapidly decreased in the ovarian follicles and remained low in the egg. This suggest that SP-1 is either extensively modified or degraded, causing a loss of its antigenic property in the ovary after adult emergence. During vitellogenesis, SP-1 is present in the hemolymph and penetrates through the tunica propria to reach the perioocytic space. From there, SP-1 is incorporated into yolk bodies. These results clearly show that SP-1 is taken up by the developing oocyte. Its disappearance suggests that SP-1 might be an amino acid reservoir for providing precursors for egg formation, in contrast to yolk proteins, which are utilized during postembryonic development. 【目的】明确白蛾周氏啮小蜂Chouioia cunea毒液对其寄主美国白蛾Hyphantria cunea蛹细胞免疫的影响。【方法】采用Na_2-EDTA分离美国白蛾蛹颗粒细胞,尼龙毛法分离浆血细胞,再利用细胞离体培养法,测评了白蛾周氏啮小蜂毒液对寄主美国白蛾两种血细胞包囊作用和吞噬作用的影响。【结果】美国白蛾颗粒细胞的包囊指数强于浆血细胞。白蛾周氏啮小蜂毒液对颗粒细胞和浆血细胞的包囊指数均有明显的抑制作用,毒液浓度越大,抑制作用越强,两种血细胞的包囊作用均呈先增长后降低的趋势。在所有浓度毒液处理下,颗粒细胞的包囊指数在12 h时最强。未经小蜂毒液处理的浆血细胞包囊指数在15 h时达到最强,但经浓度为0.01~0.03 VRE/μL的毒液处理后浆血细胞的包囊指数在12 h时达到最强,而经浓度为0.04~0.10 VRE/μL的毒液处理后包囊指数在9 h时最强。白蛾周氏啮小蜂毒液对美国白蛾蛹颗粒细胞的吞噬作用强于浆血细胞。毒液对两种血细胞的吞噬能力均有明显的抑制作用,但毒液处理对浆血细胞的吞噬作用影响较小。【结论】白蛾周氏啮小蜂毒液可以抑制美国白蛾蛹颗粒细胞和浆血细胞的包囊作用和吞噬作用,且随着毒液浓度的增加,两种血细胞的免疫作用显著下降。  相似文献

Abstract

Endogenous and exogenous effects of light on adult eclosion in Hyphantria cunea were tested by exposure to various light regimes. Regression analysis showed that the position of the eclosion peak after lights on was proportional to the length of the photophase, and that the peak was influenced by the timing of both lights‐on and lights‐off. Under photoperiods of 2–12 hours LD cycle, the eclosion peak was situated after lights‐off, but moved into the light phase as the photophase increased to 22 hours. Pupae were exposed to 3 “skeleton”; photoperiods of LDLD2:2:6:14, 4:2:4:14 and 6:2:2:14. Under the first of these, most adults emerged at the start or just before the longest dark period. Under the second and third skeleton regimes, 20% and 70% respectively of pupae emerged during the shorter dark period. When the compound eyes of the pharate adults were covered, adults smerged 1–4 hours before lights‐off under LD10:14, compared to a control group which emerged just after lights‐off. When pupae were transferred from LD to LL or DD conditions, the eclosion peak occurred approximately every 24 hours after the last LD peak. Results suggest that light received by the compound eyes influences the eclosion rhythm, either through an exogenous masking effect, or by altering the phase of the pacemaker controlling eclosion.  相似文献

美国白蛾Hyphantria cunea Drury是我国重要的林业检疫性害虫之一,世界范围内寄主多达600余种,对我国林业生产和生态环境建设造成了巨大损失。明确美国白蛾幼虫消化道各部分的形态结构,可为进一步研究其幼虫的食性及消化机能奠定基础。利用光学显微镜、扫描电子显微镜与透射电子显微镜观察了美国白蛾6龄幼虫消化道形态及超微结构。美国白蛾幼虫的消化道由前肠、中肠、后肠组成。前肠是消化道最长的部分,占整个消化道的54.27%,包括咽、食道、嗉囊、前胃四部分;中肠较短,占整个消化道的21.28%,内部具围食膜;后肠由幽门、回肠、结肠和直肠组成,幽门由幽门锥和幽门瓣组成。马氏管共6条,丝腺2条。美国白蛾幼虫消化道总体结构大部分鳞翅目消化道结构相似,但是其前肠在长度上发生了较大的变异,本文进一步讨论了美国白蛾幼虫消化道结构与其食性及耐饥饿能力等的相关性。  相似文献

The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea (Lepidoptera: Arctiidae) was determined. The genome is a circular molecule 15 481 bp long. It presents a typical gene organization and order for completely sequenced lepidopteran mitogenomes, but differs from the insect ancestral type for the placement of tRNAMet. The nucleotide composition of the genome is also highly A + T biased, accounting for 80.38%, with a slightly positive AT skewness (0.010), indicating the occurrence of more As than Ts, as found in the Noctuoidea species. All protein-coding genes (PCGs) are initiated by ATN codons, except for COI, which is tentatively designated by the CGA codon as observed in other lepidopterans. Four of 13 PCGs harbor the incomplete termination codon, T or TA. All tRNAs have a typical clover-leaf structure of mitochondrial tRNAs, except for tRNASer(AGN), the DHU arm of which could not form a stable stem-loop structure. The intergenic spacer sequence between tRNASer(AGN) and ND1 also contains the ATACTAA motif, which is conserved across the Lepidoptera order. The H. cunea A+T-rich region of 357 bp is comprised of non-repetitive sequences, but harbors several features common to the Lepidoptera insects, including the motif ATAGA followed by an 18 bp poly-T stretch, a microsatellite-like (AT)8 element preceded by the ATTTA motif, an 11 bp poly-A present immediately upstream tRNAMet. The phylogenetic analyses support the view that the H. cunea is closerly related to the Lymantria dispar than Ochrogaster lunifer, and support the hypothesis that Noctuoidea (H. cunea, L. dispar, and O. lunifer) and Geometroidea (Phthonandria atrilineata) are monophyletic. However, in the phylogenetic trees based on mitogenome sequences among the lepidopteran superfamilies, Papillonoidea (Artogeia melete, Acraea issoria, and Coreana raphaelis) joined basally within the monophyly of Lepidoptera, which is different to the traditional classification.  相似文献

Summary The corpora allata of the three last larval instars were studied in newly molted animals, at the beginning, middle, and end of the feeding period, and during the molt period. They were found to consist of uniform gland cells, whose ultrastructure changes in the course of the instars.In gland cells considered to be resting, the outer and inner nuclear membranes run in parallel without forming a dilated perinuclear space. Mitochondria are small, polymorphic, with an electron-dense matrix. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER) appears as stacks of parallel cisternae near the nuclear envelope and in the rest of the cytoplasm, and as accumulations of twisted profiles. Occasionally, the SER takes the form of paracrystalline bodies. There are few small smooth-surfaced vesicles in the cytoplasm.In cells considered as active, a dilated perinuclear space occurs. The peripheral ends of profiles forming the SER are swollen, and numerous vesicles and vacuoles bud off from them to fill the cytoplasm. Mitochondria are large, with a more transparent matrix. The plasma membrane of gland cells located just beneath the connective tissue sheath forms numerous small invaginations.The corpora allata consist of resting cells during the molt periods. At the beginning of each instar, few active gland cells appear. In the middle of the second to last and the third to last instars, the bulk of the gland cells is active. At the end of these instars, there are both active and inactive cells. In the middle of the last instar, the gland cells are inactive or subactive, and at its end, all gland cells are completely inactive.  相似文献

【目的】美国白蛾Hyphantria cunea(Drury)是世界性检疫害虫,目前已经入侵到我国长江下游地区(从辽宁丹东至安徽芜湖)。作者在前期研究中,在芜湖地区成功获得了被球孢白僵菌Beauveria bassiana侵染的美国白蛾僵虫。本研究拟在前期已获取菌株的基础上,筛选生物学性状良好且对美国白蛾幼虫具有高致病力的球孢白僵菌菌株,以期为我国长江下游地区利用昆虫病原真菌防治美国白蛾奠定基础。【方法】对采集自美国白蛾僵虫的7株球孢白僵菌菌株(Bb01-1,Bb08-5,Bb08-6,Bb08-11,Bb22-2,Bb22-3和Bb22-5)进行生物学特性研究,以候选菌株菌落形态、生长速率、产孢量、萌发率和抗紫外能力等参数确定优良菌株;并将生物学性状良好的球孢白僵菌菌株配制成5个浓度(5×10~6,1×10~7,5×10~7,1×10~8和5×10~8孢子/m L)的孢悬液,采用浸渍法处理美国白蛾4龄幼虫,以幼虫死亡率、侵染率等指标评价菌株的致病力。【结果】供试菌株Bb22-2,Bb22-3和Bb22-5为粉状菌落,其菌落直径大,产孢早且孢子层厚;同时,这3个菌株在菌落生长速率和产孢量以及孢子萌发率、紫外照射处理后的萌发率也均显著优于其他4个菌株。毒力测定结果表明,这3个菌株对美国白蛾4龄幼虫表现出很强的致病力,各菌株处理11 d后美国白蛾幼虫校正死亡率为80%~90%。这3个菌株对美国白蛾幼虫的侵染率均高(侵染率53%~87%),并且呈现随浓度升高侵染率上升的趋势。其中,菌株Bb22-2侵染率均要高于其他2个菌株。【结论】本研究成功筛选获得了生物学性状良好且对美国白蛾高毒力的球孢白僵菌菌株。鉴于中国长江下游地区气候特点与美国白蛾生物学习性,可以预期采用昆虫病原真菌防治美国白蛾在该地区将具有很好的应用前景,但其实际应用价值尚需进一步的田间试验进行确认。  相似文献

以廊坊市主要园林绿化树种白蜡(Fraxinus chinensis Rosb.)、法国梧桐(Platanus orientalis L.)、桑树(Morus alba L.)、臭椿(Ailanthus altissima(Mill.)Swingle)、毛白杨(Populus tomentosa Carr.)和香椿(Toona sinensis(A.Juss.)Roem.)为目标树种,于2014年9月在其3年生林地中进行美国白蛾(Hyphantria cunea(Drury))人工接种试验,并用目标树种的离体叶片饲喂美国白蛾的幼虫,统计其食叶量,同时测定目标树种非自然侵染前后可溶性蛋白质含量的变化。结果表明:美国白蛾对目标树种取食量的高低顺序为桑树法国梧桐臭椿白蜡毛白杨香椿;美国白蛾取食2、4、6、8、10 d后,对美国白蛾抗性低的桑树、法国梧桐、臭椿、白蜡的可溶性蛋白质含量呈现先上升后下降的趋势,而对美国白蛾抗性高的毛白杨体内蛋白质含量首先表现出降低趋势,但二者均表现为被持续取食10 d后体内蛋白质含量低于取食前和对照;表明不同树种(耐虫和感虫)受美国白蛾侵害后蛋白质含量变化规律不同,抗虫性高低与蛋白质含量的高低没有对应关系。  相似文献

The small brown planthopper, Laodelphax striatellus (Fallén) enters the photoperiodic induction of diapause as 3rd or 4th instar nymphs. The photoperiodic response curves in this planthopper showed a typical long-day response type with a critical daylength of approximately 11 h at 25°C, 12 h at 22 and 20°C and 12.5 h at 18°C, and diapause induction was almost abrogated at 28°C. The third stage was the most sensitive stage to photoperiod. The photoperiodic response curve at 20°C showed a gradual decline in diapause incidence in ultra-long nights, and continuous darkness resulted in 100% development. The required number of days for a 50% response was distinctly different between the short- and long-night cycles, showing that the effect of one short night was equivalent to the effect of three long nights at 18°C. The rearing day length of 12 h evoked a weaker intensity of diapause than did 10 and 11 h. The duration of diapause was significantly longer under the short daylength of 11 h than it was under the long daylength of 15 h. The optimal temperature for diapause termination was 26 and 28°C. Chilling at 5°C for different times did not shorten the duration of diapause but significantly lengthened it when chilling period was included. In autumn, 50% of the nymphs that hatched from late September to mid-October entered diapause in response to temperatures below 20°C. The critical daylength in the field was between 12 h 10 min and 12 h 32 min (including twilight), which was nearly identical to the critical daylength of 12.5 h at 18°C. In spring, overwintering nymphs began to emerge in early March-late March when the mean daily temperature rose to 10°C or higher.  相似文献

Lipophorin (LP) was purified from haemolymph in last instar larvae of Hyphantria cunea (Drury) by KBr density gradient ultracentrifugation and gel filtration. LP is composed of Apo-LP I and Apo-LP II with molecular weights of 230 kDa and 80 kDa, respectively. The level of haemolymph LP in early pupae was somewhat greater than in last instar larvae. In males, this LP concentration is maintained throughout pupal development, whereas the level of haemolymph LP decreases in female pupae beginning at day 7, coincident with the onset of vitellogenesis in the fall webworm. In both male and female adults, haemolymph LP concentrations were dramatically increased in comparison to their pre-adult levels. Actually, LP was found in the ovary by immunodiffusion, tandem-crossed immunoelectrophoresis, and Western blotting. Location of LP in the ovary was also traced by immunogold labelling. Also, LP appeared in small amounts in protein yolk bodies of the ovary at an early stage of vitellogenesis, when nurse cells are bigger than the oocyte, but in greater amounts at those stages when the oocyte is larger than nurse cells—that is, when vitellogenesis is actively taking place. This fact clearly reveals that LP is synthesized by fat body and released into the haemolymph, and then taken up by the growing ovary during vitellogenesis. Also, LP was detected in testes by immunological analysis. Western blotting showed that LP was present in testicular fluid but not in the peritoneal sheath and cysts. To test whether LP is also synthesized in testes, testes and fat body tissues were cultured in vitro, indicating that fat body synthsizes LP but testes do not.
