The obscured pronuclei or nuclei in living one- and two-celled pig ova were revealed after centrifugation for 3 min at 15,000 X g. To determine viability of centrifuged ova, one- and two-celled pig ova were collected from superovulated gilts; half of the ova were centrifuged and all ova were transferred into recipient gilts. Prior to transfer all embryos were stained with tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate (TRITC) to distinguish the experimental embryos from the recipients's own ova. Centrifuged ova were transferred into one oviduct of recipient gilts and uncentrifuged ova were deposited into the opposite oviduct. Embryos were recovered 4 days after transfer and were stained with lacmoid or Hoechst 33342 to assess their stage of development. Centrifugation had no detectable influence on survival of the recovered embryos to 4 days. Centrifugation is a simple, reliable method for revealing pronuclei and nuclei of one- and two-celled pig ova and apparently does not alter subsequent preimplantation development.  相似文献

Zygotes from superovulated cows were centrifuged and pronuclei were detected by differential interference-contrast microscopy in 73% of 106 zygotes. Zygotes were then transferred to ligated oviducts of follicular-phase, 1-day pseudopregnant or 7-day pseudopregnant rabbits and recovered 5 days later. Their development did not differ from that of uncentrifuged zygotes transferred to the opposite oviduct: 41% of the embryos recovered from rabbit oviducts contained 17-32 nuclei and an additional 5% contained greater than 32 nuclei. In another experiment, 399 ova from unmated cows were transferred to rabbit oviducts to determine whether centrifugation induced parthenogenetic development. After 7 days, 257 ova were recovered; 16% of the recovered ova had developed parthenogenetically and contained 2-30 nuclei. Neither centrifugation of the ova nor reproductive status of the rabbits influenced the proportion of parthenogenotes found. Parthenogenetic development was also observed in 14 of 71 ova (20%) recovered on Day 7 from uninseminated superovulated cows. In an attempt to increase the probability of detecting treatment differences, centrifuged and control cow zygotes were incubated for 7 (rather than 5) days in opposite oviducts of fourteen 1-day pseudopregnant rabbits. Development was unaffected by centrifugation: 61% of the zygotes recovered had developed beyond the 16-cell stage, with 23, 24 and 15% containing 17-32, 33-64, and greater than 64 nuclei, respectively. Taking into account the percentage of zygotes in which pronuclei can be seen, the recovery rate from rabbit oviducts, and the proportion of embryos that develop to the morula stage or beyond, 26% of the original group of zygotes would be candidates for transfer into recipient cows.  相似文献

Embryos were transferred between Meishan and Landrace x Large White (control) gilts on Day 4 or 5 to establish approximately equal numbers of all four possible combinations of donor breed and recipient breed. The breed of the donor gilt significantly (P less than 0.01) affected embryo survival with 44.5% of transferred Meishan embryos and 69.6% of transferred control embryos surviving to Day 30 +/- 1. There was no influence of the breed of the recipient gilt on the proportion of embryos which survived. These differences in embryo survival between the two breeds could not be explained by differences in (1) the number of embryos transferred, (2) the stage of development of the embryos transferred, (3) the interval between ovulation and transfer or (4) the degree of asynchrony between donor and recipient gilt. On Day 30 +/- 1 embryos from control donors developed into longer fetuses (P less than 0.01) with larger allantoic sacs (P less than 0.05) than did embryos from Meishan donors. Fetuses in control recipients were longer (P less than 0.01), heavier (P less than 0.001) and had larger allantoic sacs (P less than 0.05) than fetuses occupying Meishan uteri. The interaction between breed of donor gilt and breed of recipient gilt did not significantly affect conceptus growth. These results suggest that Meishan pig embryos may be less tolerant to routine embryo transfer procedures than those of control gilts, that the genotype of the dam does not affect the proportion of embryos surviving to Day 30 +/- 1, and that both fetal and maternal factors affect conceptus growth.  相似文献

The purpose of the study was to determine whether the number of transferred ova per recipient influenced the efficiency of producing transgenic pigs and whether donor gilts were as effective as unmated gilts as recipients of microinjected ova. Eight genes were microinjected into 4,232 ova that were transferred into 169 recipients over a 5-yr period. Although the farrowing rate and litter size was highest for recipients receiving 31 to 41 ova per recipient, the percentage of transferred ova developing into piglets was highest for recipients receiving 13 to 20 ova (P = 0.021 for all recipients and P = 0.011 for pregnant recipients). Based on these data we conclude transferring more than 20 ova per recipient may incur some loss due to uterine crowding. Gilts used as recipients of microinjected ova immediately after their own ova were flushed from their oviducts had the same farrowing rate, litter size, and ovum development efficiency as unmated gilts that were only used as recipients. However, donor-recipients that ovulated 21 or more ova had smaller litters (P = 0.009) and were less efficient in producing pigs (P = 0.024) and transgenic pigs (P = 0.054) from transferred ova than donor-recipients that ovulated 20 or fewer ova. Dual use of donors as recipients was an effective method of reducing the number of recipients in a transgenic pig project by nearly one-half.  相似文献

Indirect evidence of embryo signalling to the oviduct was sought in rats by examining the transport of embryos of different ages. One-cell or four-cell embryos were transferred to the oviducts of recipient rats on Day 1 of pregnancy, and the number, condition, and location of native and transferred embryos was assessed on Day 4. To control for the effect of the presence of foreign embryos and excess number of eggs and the transfer procedure upon the fate of native embryos, other groups of rats were sham-operated or left undisturbed. Recipients had a mean number of ova significantly higher than controls. In controls and recipients of 1-cell embryos, the majority of eggs reached the morula stage and all of them were located in the oviducts. In those animals receiving 4-cell embryos, half of the eggs had reached the blastocyst stage and 28% were in the uteri (p less than 0.005). These results support the idea that advanced embryos can influence the timing of their entrance to the uterus in rats.  相似文献

The current study was undertaken to develop a successful procedure for the nonsurgical transfer of pig embryos. A total of 663 embryos were surgically collected on Day 4 or 5 from 55 donors, of which 542 embryos of acceptable quality were nonsurgically transferred to 46 recipients. Nonsurgical recipient gilts were sedated 15 min prior to transfer with 20 mg im acepromazine maleate. A disposable insemination spirette with an attached 3-way stopcock was manipulated into the cervix of each gilt. Embryos were expelled from a tomcat catheter into the spirette, and 10 to 12 ml of Whitten's medium were used to flush embryos through the spirette into the reproductive tract. Sixteen (34.8%) recipient gilts did not return to estrus before Day 36, and 10 (21.7%) gilts farrowed with an average litter size of 4.3 +/- 0.7. Embryos were collected from an additional 20 donors and were surgically transferred to an additional 19 recipients. Surgical transfers conducted at the same time as the nonsurgical transfers resulted in 12 (63.2%) gilts farrowing and 7.1 +/- 0.6 pigs were born per litter. In conclusion, a procedure has been developed for nonsurgical transfer of swine embryos which simplifies the process of embryo transfer and which may increase the potential for utilization of embryo transfer technologies by swine producers.  相似文献

We describe the first complete embryo transfer program, including flushing of embryos from the oviducts via the uterine horns, transfer of embryos into the Fallopian tubes or the uterine horns and recording of the number of piglets born live. The described procedure is minimally invasive and allows the use of pigs simultaneously for embryo collection and production of normal pregnancies. A 30 degrees forward oblique endoscope provided optimal visualization of the reproductive organs and free access to the organs for embryo flushing and transfer. In contrast to surgical and nonsurgical methods, endoscopy allows to pre-examine the genital tract for reproductive abnormalities and successful ovulation. A total of 95 prepuberal gilts or cyclic sows were used in this trial. Embryos or oocytes were collected from hormonally treated pigs via endoscopy(n = 17) on Day 3 and via laparotomy or post mortem after slaughter (control group, n = 38) on Day 3 and 6 after insemination. One (unilateral collection, n = 7) or both oviducts (bilateral collection, n = 10) were flushed endoscopically. We recovered 114 (average 16/pig) and 279 (average 28/pig) oocytes or embryos with fertilization rates of 89% and 72%, respectively. In the control group 834 oocytes or embryos were collected at Day 3 and 6 after insemination (fertilization rate 64%, total 534 embryos, 33 at 2-, 367 at 4-, 2 at 8-cell stage, 24 morulae and 108 blastocysts). Of 836 embryos recovered by endoscopy, surgery or slaughter 528 Day 3 embryos at 2- to 4-cell stage were transferred into (one) oviducts (n = 27 pigs, about 20/pig) resulting in 9 pregnant pigs diagnosed at Day 28 by sonography. Of the 9, 8 carried a total of 49 piglets to term. A total of 195 Day 6 embryos were transferred into uterine horns (n = 12 pigs, about 16/pig), resulting in 5 pregnant pigs carrying a total of 38 offspring to term. The use of endoscopy in assisted reproduction of pigs has the advantages of allowing easy access to the ovary, oviduct and uterus, clear view of the organ manipulation without exposure and exteriorization of viscera during surgery.  相似文献

Holstein or Angus cows were superovulated, inseminated with fresh bull semen, and necropsied about 12 h after estimated time of ovulation. Ova were centrifuged at 15,600 G for 3 to 8 min to reveal pronuclei. In Experiment 1, pronuclear bovine embryos were transferred to ligated or unligated oviducts of 1-d pseudopregnant rabbits for 7 d; 30 of 32 embryos were recovered from ligated oviducts but only 2 of 26 from oviducts and uterine horns of unligated oviducts. In Experiment 2, a Rous sarcoma virus-chloramphenicol acetyl transferase fusion gene was injected into one pronucleus of about half of 404 fertilized bovine ova, using a micromanipulator and interference contrast optics. Injected and noninjected embryos were then transferred to opposite ligated rabbit oviducts. Embryos were recovered after 7, 8 or 9 d. Of 120 centrifuged but ininjected embryos recovered from rabbit oviducts, 66 (55%) were in the morula to hatching blastocyst stage of development. Of 105 embryos centrifuged and injected with foreign DNA, 55 (52%) were in the morula to hatching blastocyst stage. In Experiment 3, centrifuged bovine embryos, noninjected or DNA-injected, were cultured in rabbit oviducts for 7 d then transferred nonsurgically to the uterus of recipient cows. Embryos were also flushed from superovulated cows 8 d after estrus and transferred directly to recipient cows. After 7 d, the uterus of recipient cows was flushed nonsurgically to recover embryos. The proportion of transferred embryos recovered with normally elongated trophoblastic membranes and the proportion of recipient cows with developing embryos were 14 of 25 DNA-injected embryos, 5 of 8 cows; 6 of 15 centrifuged but noninjected embryos, 4 of 6 cows; and 11 of 29 embryos transferred directly, 5 of 8 cows. Results indicate that bovine embryos can be cultured in rabbit oviducts and survive after transfer to cow uteri and that injection of foreign DNA may not increase embryonic loss within the first 2 wk after injection.  相似文献

Follicular oocytes collected from prepubertal gilts at a local slaughter house were matured (36 h), fertilized and developed in vitro. Of 785 embryos, 190 (24%) embryos cleaved to the 2-4 cell stages with blastomeres of regular size by 33 h after insemination. These cleaved embryos were surgically transferred into the oviducts of 4 synchronized recipient gilts and recovered from the uterine horns 4 or 7 days later: 13 morulae, 2 blastocysts and 1 expanded blastocyst were recovered after 4 days and 3 hatched blastocysts were recovered 7 days after transfer. Re-culture in vitro sustained further development of morulae recovered 4 days after transfer: 11 of 13 morulae had developed to the blastocyst/hatched blastocyst stages. Overall, 17 of 190 (9%) embryos developed to the blastocyst stage. The results indicate that pig oocytes can be matured and fertilized in vitro, and subsequently develop to the blastocyst stage.  相似文献

The importance of uniform development of blastocysts was examined by comparing the effects of asynchronous superinduction (Day 6 embryos into Day 7 pregnant recipients and Day 7 embryos into Day 6 pregnant recipients) on the range of embryo development at Days 12 and 13 to subsequent survival to Day 30. Twenty gilts were used to produce five Day 7 recipients that received Day 6 embryos and five Day 6 recipients that received Day 7 embryos. Embryos from the Day 7 and Day 6 recipients were examined 6 days later. Recovered embryos ranged morphologically from spherical to filamentous blastocysts. This range of embryos was within the limits of that previously observed for naturally mated sows. However, recovered blastocysts from the Day 6 embryos transferred into Day 7 recipients were morphologically more variable and proportionately less developed than the blastocysts from the Day 7 embryos transferred into Day 6 recipients. Forty additional gilts were subsequently utilized to generate 20 recipients (10 recipients per transfer group) that were examined on Day 30. More Day 7 embryos transferred into Day 6 recipients survived (p less than 0.05) than Day 6 embryos transferred into Day 7 recipients. These experiments suggested that greater variation in early development of embryos, within litters, subsequently resulted in greater mortality of embryos.  相似文献

Successful development of porcine embryos from the one-cell stage to the blastocyst stage has been accomplished using mouse oviducts in organ culture. One-cell embryos were transferred to mouse oviducts maintained in organ culture and were cultured for 6 days. Control embryos from each donor pig were cultured in a modified Krebs-Ringer bicarbonate medium. Thus control and experimental embryos obtained from the same individual pig could be directly compared. At the end of the culture period, all embryos were scored for the stage of development attained and stained to allow the cell number of each embryo to be counted. In medium alone, only 35.7% of the one-cell embryos reached the morula or blastocyst stage, whereas 78.1% of the one-cell embryos transferred to mouse oviducts reached the morula or blastocyst stage. Of those embryos reaching the morula or blastocyst stage, cell numbers were similar for the two treatments (medium alone vs. oviduct culture). The procedure described for mouse oviduct organ culture provides a simple method for culturing early-stage pig embryos to the morula or blastocyst stage prior to embryo transfer.  相似文献

Bovine oocytes were bisected, stained with Hoechst 33342 and observed under a fluorescent microscope to identify nucleated and enucleated demi-oocytes. Other oocytes were bisected but not stained, or bisected and only half of each oocyte stained, and viewed under a fluorescent microscope. The oocytes were then used for nuclear transfer by fusing them with embryonic blastomeres from a 5-6 day bovine embryo. The fusion rate and proportion developing into compact morulae or blastocysts was compared among different types of demi-oocytes. Expt 1 examined the effect of staining and indicated no effect on either fusion rate or embryonic development whether or not the oocytes were stained. In Expt 2, stained and unstained nucleated and enucleated oocytes were compared. As in the first experiment, there were no differences between stained and unstained demi-oocytes. There was no difference between fusion rates of nucleated and enucleated oocytes. However, there was a significant difference in embryonic development between nucleated (10.4%) and enucleated (22.6%) demi-oocytes (P less than 0.05). In a final experiment, stained and unstained enucleated oocytes were used for nuclear transfer and the resulting embryos transferred into recipient cows. There was no difference in pregnancy rates or in the number of normal calves born whether stained or unstained recipient oocytes were used. Results from these experiments indicate that Hoechst staining and fluorescent microscopy can be used to identify enucleated demi-oocytes, and that these can be used for nuclear transfer, and result in viable embryos and normal calves.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Eighty-six crossbred gilts were used in a series of experiments 1) to determine if eight-cell embryos enter the uterus before four-cell embryos do, and 2) to investigate the effects of transferring older, more developed embryos, either with or without intact zona pellucidae, to the oviducts of swine. Results of these experiments suggested that both four-and eight-cell embryos randomly enter the uterus on Days 3.5 to 4 (Day 0 = onset of estrus). Though there were no differences in survival rates or subsequent morphology of recovered embryos when transferred to the oviduct or uterus on Day 4, the transfer. of Day-6 embryos to the oviduct resulted in lower (P < 0.01) survival rates, and the recovered embryos were smaller (P < 0.01) than those introduced into the uterus. Survival rates were lower (P < 0.06) for zonae-free embryos transferred to the oviduct than for zonae-intact embryos; however, these differences were not evident when zonae-free embryos were transferred into the uterus. These experiments demonstrate that oviductal transfer procedures in swine are limited to zonae-intact, preblastocyst stage embryos.  相似文献

Developmental competence of pig oocytes matured and fertilized in vitro   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Pig follicles 3 to 6 mm in diameter were everted and matured for 44 h. The oocytes were then collected and exposed to capacitated boar sperm purified by centrifugation in a two step (65 and 70%) Percoll gradient. Of 110 ova fixed 14 h after in vitro fertilization, 78% were penetrated and 47% were monospermic. Next, 681 oocytes were cultured in vitro for 44 h after in vitro fertilization and the 266 embryos which had reached the two- to four-cell stage were transferred into the oviducts of 12 synchronized recipient gilts. Four days later, 211 embryos (79%) were recovered by uterine flushing. 40.7% of these were at the blastocyst stage, and 20% were at the morula stage. In a final experiment, four out of eight gilts which had received 40 to 50 two- to four-cell embryos, were diagnosed pregnant 30 and 37 d after in vitro fertilization. One sow farrowed nine live piglets and one stillborn, two pregnancies were in progress, while one sow returned to estrus 47 d after in vitro fertilization. These results demonstrate that pig oocytes matured and fertilized in vitro can develop to the blastocyst stage and establish a normal pregnancy resulting in the birth of live piglets.  相似文献

Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) was successfully established in the pig. In Experiment 1 (6 replicates) 234 oocytes (39 +/- 5.5 per recipient) plus spermatozoa (4000 to 8000 per oocyte) were transferred bilaterally into the oviducts of synchronized gilts, and embryos were recovered 48 h thereafter. The recovery rate was 50.4% and 50% of the recovered oocytes were fertilized. A total of 55 embryos was cultured in vitro in NCSU-medium for 48 h and 63.6% developed to morula or blastocyst stages. In Experiment 2 (5 replicates) 220 oocytes (44 +/- 4.9 per recipient) plus spermatozoa (4000 per oocyte) were transferred to 5 recipients which were allowed to go to term. Three gilts delivered 16 (n = 3, 5, 8) piglets. In Experiment 3 (5 replicates) 183 oocytes (36.6 +/- 1.2 per recipient) plus flow cytometry gender sorted spermatozoa (4000 per oocyte) were transferred to 5 recipients. The recovery rate was 47.8%, and 27.6% of the oocytes were fertilized. From all cleaved oocytes 45.8% developed to expanded blastocysts, with the number of blastomeres varying from 20 to 85 (38.3 +/- 22.5). These results indicate that the GIFT procedure can be used successfully in pigs, and can be a valuable tool for the study of gamete interaction as well as in the continued development of biotechnological procedures such as sex pre-determination.  相似文献

In cryopreserved rat embryos, survival rates obtained in vitro are not always consistent with the rates obtained in vivo. To determine the optimal conditions for in vivo development to term, rat embryos at the 4-cell, 8-cell, and morula stages were vitrified in EFS40 by a one-step method and transferred into oviducts or uterine horns of recipients at various times during pseudopregnancy. Vitrified and fresh 4-cell embryos only developed after transfer into oviducts of asynchronous recipients on Days -1 to -2 of synchrony (i.e., at a point in pseudopregnancy 1-2 days earlier than the embryos). Approximately half the vitrified embryos transferred into oviducts on Day -1 developed to term, but only a minority of embryos, whether vitrified (10%-34%) or fresh (24%-33%), transferred at later times did so, suggesting that this may not be the most suitable stage for cryopreservation. Very few 8-cell embryos, either vitrified or fresh, developed when transferred into oviducts on Day 0 to -0.5. However, when transferred into uterine horns, high proportions of vitrified 8-cell embryos ( approximately 63%) developed to term in reasonably synchronous recipients (Day 0 to -0.5) but not in more asynchronous ones (6%; Day -1). A majority of vitrified morulae also developed to term (52%-68%) in a wider range of recipients (Days 0 to -1), the greatest success occurring in recipients on Day -0.5. Similar proportions of vitrified and fresh 4-cell embryos, 8-cell embryos, and morulae developed to term when appropriate synchronization existed between embryo and recipient. Thus, vitrification of preimplantation-stage rat embryos does not appear to impair their developmental potential in vivo.  相似文献

The present study was carried out to determine (1) the optimal duty cycle of ultrasound for activation of pig oocytes and cloned embryos derived from miniature pig fetal fibroblasts and (2) whether cloned embryos can develop to term following activation by ultrasound stimulation. When oocytes were exposed to ultrasound with 20% or 30% duty cycle, the blastocyst formation rates were significantly (P < 0.05) higher than that of oocytes exposed to ultrasound with 10% duty cycle. In contrast, the blastocyst formation rate of cloned embryos decreased as the duty cycle of ultrasound increased; the value of embryos exposed to ultrasound with 10% duty cycle was significantly (P < 0.05) higher than that of embryos exposed to ultrasound with 50% duty cycle. When cloned embryos exposed to ultrasound with 10% duty cycle were transferred into the oviducts of two recipient gilts to assess their development in vivo, the pregnancy of one of the gilts was maintained to term and two piglets were delivered via Cesarean section. The results of the present study showed that (1) although the duty cycle of ultrasound affects in vitro development after activation of both pig oocytes and miniature pig cloned embryos, the optimal duty cycle is different between them and (2) miniature pig cloned embryos have the ability to develop into piglets after activation by ultrasound stimulation.  相似文献

Since the only viable cloned offspring born in dogs was a male, the purpose of the present study was to produce female puppies by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). Adult ear fibroblasts from a 2-month-old female Afghan hound were isolated and used as donor cells. In vivo-matured canine oocytes surgically collected (approximately 72h after ovulation) from the oviducts of 23 donors were used for SCNT. After removal of the cumulus cells, oocytes were enucleated, microinjected, fused with a donor cell, and activated. A total of 167 reconstructed SCNT embryos were surgically transferred (Day 0) into the oviducts of 12 recipient bitches (average 13.9 embryos/recipient, range 6-22) with spontaneous, synchronous estrous cycles. Three pregnancies were detected by ultrasonography on Day 23, maintained to term, and three healthy female puppies (520, 460, and 520g), were delivered by Caesarean section on Day 60. These puppies were phenotypically and genotypically identical to the cell donor. In conclusion, we have provided the first demonstration that female dogs can be produced by nuclear transfer of ear fibroblasts into enucleated canine oocytes.  相似文献

Immature female rats (60-65 g) were injected with 4 i.u. PMSG on Day -2 and allocated to 3 groups. On the evening of Day 0, rats in Groups I and II were allowed to mate. Embryos were collected on Day 4 (Group I, control morulae) or Day 5 (Group II, control blastocysts) and were transferred into the oviduct or uterine horn of Day-4 pregnant recipient rats. On the transfer side of the recipients, the bursa had been peeled from around the ovary to prevent endogenous oocytes from entering the oviduct. For Group III, unmated donors were killed 65-67 h after PMSG injection. Ovulated oocytes recovered from the oviducts were fertilized in vitro and transferred 16-18 h later. Embryos developing from in-vitro fertilized (IVF) oocytes were recovered on Day 5, separated into morulae (Group IIIm) and blastocysts (Group IIIb) and transferred into Day-4 pregnant recipients similar to control embryos. Some embryos from each group were used to determine the mean number of cells/embryo. Embryo recipients were killed on Day 20. After transfer, the development of IVF oocytes was retarded compared to control embryos. IVF morulae contained significantly fewer cells/embryo than did control morulae but were able to implant and grow to fetuses, in proportions similar to controls, if transferred into the oviduct of the recipients. These results suggest that the developmental potential of rat oocytes fertilized in vitro is limited due to asynchrony between the embryo and the uterine environment at the time of implantation, rather than possible defects incurred by the oocyte during the fertilization procedure.  相似文献

A study was conducted to determine whether embryos recovered from first-estrous (pubertal) and second-estrous gilts differed in survival when transferred to first- or third-estrous recipients. Embryos were recovered surgically from first- and second-estrous donors 48-72 h postmating and 6-10 normal embryos/zygotes (1-4 cells) were transferred to oviducts (3-5 embryos/ampulla) of nonmated synchronous first- (n = 40) or third- (n = 15) estrous recipients. Blood samples were collected from the jugular vein of recipient gilts on Days 3, 12, and 30 of gestation and the sera were analyzed for progesterone and free (unconjugated) estrogens by use of radioimmunoassays. Recipient gilts were subsequently slaughtered between Days 30 and 40 to assess embryonic losses. Mean number of ovulations was lower among first-estrous vs. third-estrous recipients (8.9 +/- 0.7 vs. 11.4 +/- 0.7; p < 0.05). Percentage of recipients that maintained pregnancy was similar between first- and third-estrous gilts (67.5 vs. 60.0%) and recovery of total conceptuses (normal and degenerating) resulting from transfer of one-cell- and cleavage-stage embryos did not differ among first- vs. third-estrous gilts (76.1 vs. 78.2%). Similarly, percentage of viable fetuses in first-estrous gilts that were pregnant from transfer of one-cell- and cleavage-stage embryos was not different from that of third-estrous gilts (69.3 vs. 75.6%). Percentages of total conceptuses and viable fetuses in first- and third-estrous gilts that were recipients of cleavage-stage embryos only also did not differ (p > 0.05).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献
