In an active-controlled trial, the experimental treatment can be declared to be non-inferior to the control if the confidence interval for the difference excludes a fixed pre-specified margin. Recently, some articles have discussed an alternative method where the data from the current study and placebo-controlled studies for the active control are combined together into a single test statistic to test whether a fixed fraction of the effect of the active control is preserved. It has been shown that, conditional on nuisance parameters from the active-controlled study, a fixed margin can be defined that will be operationally equivalent to this latter method. In this article, we will discuss statistical properties associated with these approaches. Specifically, the interim monitoring boundaries and level of evidence will be considered.  相似文献

运用分支分类分析方法对斑龙芋属及其近缘属进行系统发育分析,以4个属的15个种作为15个分支分类单位,选择菖蒲科的菖蒲作为外类群,从斑龙芋属植物特征中选取了14个性状作为建立数据矩阵的基本资料,并以外类群比较和通行的形态演化规律,及核型演化规律为依据对这些性状进行极化,采用改进的最大同步法和最小平行法进行分类运算,按照最简约的原则,运用演化长度较短的最大同步法谱系分支图,作为讨论的基础,讨论了斑龙芋属及其近缘属的系统关系。  相似文献

We propose a new statistical framework for the exploratory analysis of the ecological niche, the “General niche-environment system factor analysis” (GNESFA). The data required for this analysis are (i) a table giving the values of the environmental variables in each environment unit (EU, e.g., the patches of habitat on a vector map), (ii) a set of weights measuring the availability of the EUs to the species (e.g., the proportion of the study area covered by a given patch), and (iii) a set of utilization weights describing the use of the EUs by the focal species (e.g., the proportion of detections of the species in each patch). Each row of the table corresponds to a point in the multidimensional space defined by the environmental variables, and each point is associated with two weights. The GNESFA searches the directions in this space where the two weight distributions differ the most, choosing one distribution as the reference, and the other one as the focus. The choice of the utilization as the reference corresponds to the MADIFA (Mahalanobis distances factor analysis), which identifies the directions on which the available EUs are in average the furthest from the optimum of the niche, allowing habitat suitability modelling. The choice of the availability as the reference corresponds to the FANTER (Factor analysis of the niche, taking the environment as the reference), which identifies the directions on which the niche is the furthest from the average environment (marginality) and those on which the niche is the narrowest compared with the environment (specialization). The commonly used ENFA (Ecological niche factor analysis) is at the middle point between the MADIFA and the FANTER, considering both distributions as the reference and the focus simultaneously. When used concurrently, these three analyses allow an extensive exploration of the system.  相似文献

甲醇对酵母过氧化氢酶活性的影响机理研究   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
将酵母过氧化氢酶加入一定比例的甲醇,测定其活性变化。结果表明:在含2%甲醇时酶活比对照提高4026%。将粗酶液用70%饱和度的硫酸铵盐析后离心所得的上清液再加入硫酸铵至80%饱和度,离心的沉淀溶解在缓冲液中,上SephadexG75柱,分离出的有酶活性的蛋白峰经电泳得一条蛋白带,说明过氧化氢酶已经被提纯到电泳纯。光谱分析发现,甲醇处理后过氧化氢酶纯酶的吸收光谱和荧光发射光谱与未经处理的比较基本不变,而差示光谱出现明显的正峰和负峰。由动力学分析可知,在甲醇中,过氧化氢酶的Vmax和Km值均有不同程度提高 。  相似文献

Multivariate analysis was used for interpreting data from a pot experiment using samples of three Spanish soils. Samples of soil fertilized with compost were compared with untreated control samples. We also compared the effect of adding the compost to soil with a controlled moisture content of 50% of its water holding capacity (WHC), and to a near-saturated soil (95% WHC). Hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) and principal component analysis (PCA) were used; they perfectly differentiated sample groups both as a function of the treatment applied and by sampling date. The compost samples were characterized by higher pH, electrical conductivity (EC), organic matter (OM) content and cation exchange capacity (CEC), together with nutrient concentrations than the control pots. The pots with a soil–compost mixture at 95% WHC presented lower values of EC, CEC, inorganic N, K, Na and B than the mixtures at 50% WHC. Multivariate methods may therefore be useful for the analysis and interpretation of a large number of data in soil research.  相似文献

To investigate the role of the critical parameters in adaptation of proteins to low temperatures, a comparative systematic analysis was performed. Several parameters were proposed to have contribution to cold adaptation of proteins. Among proposed parameters, total values of residual structure states, secondary structure states and oligomeric states were alike in both psychrophilic and mesophilic proteins. In addition, our results provided new quantitative information about the trends in the substitution preference of Ile, Phe, Tyr, Lys, Arg, His, Glu and Leu with most of amino acids and substitution avoidance of Gly, Thr and Ala with most of amino acids. These findings would help future efforts propose a strategy for designing psychrophilic proteins.  相似文献

The draft sequences of whole genomes are being published at an ever-increasing pace, thus providing access to the human genomic sequence and, more recently, the mouse sequence. Genomes of the invertebrates are also becoming available. Now that the genomic DNA of mammalian species is available, an old problem can be tackled with renewed vigour mammalian promoter prediction. Gene promoters have proved elusive for more than a decade, despite their pivotal role in gene regulation. Recently, however, several new developments have made it possible to make meaningful large-scale predictions. GIL, J. & CUBERO, J. I., 1993. Multivariate analysis of the Vicia sativa L. aggregate . The sativa group of species was studied by using multivariate analysis and karyological analysis. Thirty biometrical characters were studied by using 92 Vicia sativa L. accessions from a variety of geographical sources. The four main taxa analysed were: sativa, macrocarpa, cordata and angustifolia. Principal component analysis provided clear separation among sativa, cordata and angustifolia in terms of the first two components. Karyotype analysis confirmed the PCA results, and by combining both methods, misclassed specimens can be correctly determined. Cluster analyses using the characters which displayed the greatest loads over the first components were performed in order to identify the most valuable characters from the taxonomic point of view. These were flower length, calyx length, pod width, constriction of the pod between seeds, leaf length, leaflet width, seed length and seed width. Our results suggest an early separation of angustifolia from the ancestral stem. The taxon cordata may be useful in future plant breeding programmes not only for crossing with V. saliva to increase the leaflet size of this taxon, but also as a bridge species between sativa and angustifolia.  相似文献

A review of Endo's experimental and theoretical procedures and data indicates that the magnitude of the principal strains in the glabella region of both humans and gorillas are low as compared to other parts of the face. Therefore, his data do not provide support for the hypothesis that the glabella region is a highly stressed region during biting. In addition, increased levels of strain in the supraorbital region are directly related to increased levels of masticatory muscle and reaction forces, and not necessarily to anterior tooth loading as opposed to posterior tooth loading. His data also indicate that the supraorbital region in extant humans cannot be accurately modeled as a beam. These conclusions either differ from those of Endo or are not clearly presented or emphasized throughout any of Endo's papers. Therefore, we suggest that a number of investigators have made unsupported or erroneous conclusions based on Endo's work. This is particularly true for those studies that have emphasized the existence of powerful bending stress in the glabella region during incisor biting in both humans and non-human primates.  相似文献

In the present paper,both cladistic analysis and phenetic analysis were conducted to evaluate the phylogenetic relationships of the Taxodiaceae based on an extensive literature review and study of herbarium. In the cladistic analysis,the Sciadopityaceae was chosen as outgroup.The polarity of characters was determined mainly according to outgroup comparison,fossil evidence and generally accepted viewpoints of morphological evolution.By the result of compatibility analysis,character 2(leaf type),which possessed a much higher coefficient than others whether or not its polarity was altered,was deleted. Finally,a data matrix consisting of all the extant nine genera and 24 characters was analyzed using Maximal Same Step Method,Synthetic Method,Evolutionary Extremal Aggregation Method and Minimal Parallel Evolutionary Method,and four cladograms were generated,of which only the most parsimonious one (Fig.1)was presented for discussion. The cladogram shows that the Taxodiaceae are assorted along five lines of evolution: 1)Metasequoia;2)Sequoiadendron,Sequoia;3)Cryptomeria;4)Glyptostrobus and Taxodium;5)Cunninghamia,Athrotaxis and Taiwania. Ten genera(including Sciadopitys)and 59 characters were used in the phenetic analysis.The phenogram(Fig.2)indicates that Sciadopitys is a very distinct group with remote affinity to the other genera,and the Taxodiaceae are divided into four groups:1)Sequoia,Sequoiadendron;2)Athrotaxis,Cunninghamia and Taiwania;3)Cryptomeria,Glyptostrobus and Taxodium;4)Metasequoia. Based primarily on the result of cladistics,with reference to that of phenetics,the main conclusions were drawn as follows:(1)Generic relationships:Cryptomeria should be considered the most primitive genus in the extant groups of the Taxodiaceae. Glyptostrobus and Taxodium, close to Cryptomeria, are sister taxa and relatively primitive groups. Sequoiadendron and Sequoia are closely related and intermediate advanced. Metasequoia is a more or less isolated taxon, relatively close to Sequoiadendron and Sequoia. Cunninghamia. Athrotaxis and Taiwania might represent a single lineage and form a very advanced group, of which Taiwania may be the most specialized. (2) Systematic treatments: The authors support the viewpoint that Sciadopitys should be treated as an independent family, and suggest that the Taxodiaeae should be divided into five tribes. The aim of this study was to compare the densification of powder mixtures on eccentric and rotary tablet presses and to establish relationships with the halving properties of the resulting scored tablets. This is an important problem because the recent guidelines of EU require verification of the equal masses of tablet halves. The models of Walker, Heckel, and Kawakita were used to describe the powder densification on the two machines. The calculated parameters revealed that the shorter compression cycle of rotary machines results in poorer densification and lower tablet hardness at a given compression force. This is manifested in poorer halving properties, which are influenced mainly by the hardness. Better densification improves the halving even at lower tablet hardness. This demonstrates that these parameters can be good predictors of tablet halving properties.  相似文献

Heart failure (HF) is the major of cause of mortality and morbidity in the developed world. Gene expression profiles of animal model of heart failure have been used in number of studies to understand human cardiac disease. In this study, statistical methods of analysing microarray data on cardiac tissues from dogs with pacing induced HF were used to identify differentially expressed genes between normal and two abnormal tissues. The unsupervised techniques principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis were explored to distinguish between three different groups of 12 arrays and to separate the genes which are up regulated in different conditions among 23912 genes in heart failure canines'' microarray data. It was found that out of 23912 genes, 1802 genes were differentially expressed in the three groups at 5% level of significance and 496 genes were differentially expressed at 1% level of significance using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The genes clustered using PCA and clustering analysis were explored in the paper to understand HF and a small number of differentially expressed genes related to HF were identified.  相似文献

对重庆地区蕨类植物从科、属分布区类型进行了统计分析,同时将该区区系特征与其它几个地区进行了对比分析。结果表明:(1)该区共有蕨类植物389种(含变种和变型),隶属于109属, 43科。(2)该区蕨类植物中优势科、属十分明显,其中优势科为:鳞毛蕨科、金星蕨科、水龙骨科、蹄盖蕨科、凤尾蕨科;优势属为鳞毛蕨属、耳蕨属、凤尾蕨属、铁角蕨属、卷柏属、凤丫蕨属。(3)从蕨类植物科、属分布区类型的所占比例来看,该地区区系性质以热带成分占优势,其中热带分布科22科,占总科数的75.00%;热带分布属有60属,占总属数的64.52%(剔除世界分布)。(4)本区区系成分古老,古老孑遗的科属较为丰富,但特有现象不明显。(5)该区地形、气候条件对于蕨类植物的散布和充分发育比较适宜,为其在该区的充分发育创造了极为有力的条件。(6)经对比分析和聚类分析表明:该区与临近的几个地区属的相似性系数很高,特别是与西南地区的西藏、横断山区的属相似性系数较大,表明区系上与这些地区有着广泛的联系;而与华北的内蒙古,东北的辽宁等相距较远的地区属的相似性系数较低,表明区系上联系较为疏远。  相似文献

This article, focusing on the flow of bulk construction minerals, establishes a mass balance framework for the North West of England, a region that imports more aggregate material than any other in the United Kingdom. The problems associated with construction minerals are of a different nature than most other resource flow issues: Depletion of resources and contamination are not considered major problems; rather it is the environmental impact resulting from life-cycle stages from extraction, transport, processing, through to final disposal that is most important. A mass balance framework can promote a better understanding of the regional flow of materials, and the impact of human activity on surrounding ecosystems, and hence underpin informed decision making. This is of particular relevance at the current time because increasing political emphasis is placed on sustainable resource management and resource productivity at the United Kingdom and European Union levels. Using a mass balance framework to analyze the sustainability impacts of construction and mineral flows in the North West of England, this study finds that flows resulting from construction activity account for 34,075 terajoules (TJ) of energy resulting in 2,701 gigagrams (Gg) of carbon dioxide emissions related to energy use, and 387 Gg of carbon dioxide emissions related to the transportation of the minerals. Against these impacts, the flow of bulk construction mineral salso supports 147,000 jobs within the region.  相似文献

建筑代谢是当前城市代谢研究领域中的一个新兴热点问题,其研究着重关注建筑系统中物质能量流动可能对周围环境产生的压力及其有害影响。本文在阐明城市建筑代谢内涵的基础上,综述了国内外建筑代谢研究方法的进展情况,分析了目前城市建筑代谢研究方法的适用范围及其特点,指出了城市建筑代谢研究方法在未来应从以下几个方面发展:开发跨城市边界的代谢研究方法;注重建筑代谢中非物质性代谢流研究;制定适合乡土建筑地域特点的代谢研究方法;综合物质量和价值量的建筑代谢研究,全面认识和评价建筑的可持续性。  相似文献

Summary Principal components analysis is well suited for many data analysis problems in ecology, particularly for data reduction and hypothesis generation; but the structure of PCA is poorly suited for indirect gradient analysis. Whatever the intended application of PCA, the user must exercise special care in selecting data transformations to prevent the analysis from being overwhelmed by the purely numerical effects in the variance structure of the data.I would like to thank R.
