A new species of Arabis L. (Brassicaceae) from South Anatolia

A new species of Arabis L., A. alanyensis H. Duman sp. nov., is described and illustrated. The species is restricted to the north of Alanya (Antalya), It grows on calcareous rocks. Diagnostic morphological characters for discrimination from the most similar taxa are given.     

A new species of Viola L. (Violaceae) from South Anatolia

A new species of Viola L., Viola yildirimlii M. Dinç & Y. Bağcı sp. nov. from South Anatolia is described and illustrated. It is found on the rocky slopes of Aladağ National Park, in the county of Adana, south Turkey, at an elevation of 1800 m. It belongs to Viola , subsect. Viola , and is similar to the Turkish endemics Viola isaurica Contandr. & Quézel and V. kizildaghensis M. Dinç & Ş. Yıldırımlı. A new species of Astragalus L (Leguminosae) from south Anatolia

A new species Astragalus yilmazii Aytac & M. Ekici sp. nov. (Leguminosae) is described and illustrated from South Anatolia, Turkey. Diagnostic, morphological and molecular data are discussed for the new taxon. In addition its pollen structure is examined.     

A new species of Scorzonera L. (Asteraceae) from south Anatolia, Turkey

A new species Scorzonera gokcheoglui O. Ünal & R. S. Göktürk sp. nov. from south Anatolia is described and illustrated. Its relationships with S. argyria and S. pisidica are discussed. A new species of Chrysophthalmum Schultz Bip. (Asteraceae-Inuleae) from TVirkey

The new species Chrysophthalmum gueneri Aytac & Anderb. sp. nov. from southwestern Turkey is described and illustrated. A key to the three species is presented; the systematic position and distribution of the genus are discussed.     

A new species of Alkanna Tausch (Boraginaceae) from south-west Anatolia

A new species of Alkanna Tausch, A. mughlae H. Duman, Giiner & H. Sagban sp. nov., is described and illustrated. The species is restricted to the south-western corner of Anatolia growing on coastal limestone cliffs. Diagnostic morphologic characters for a detailed discrimination from the most similar taxa are discussed.     

Eight new species of Marasmodes (Asteraceae,Anthemideae) from South Africa

During a stay at the Kirstenbosch Research Centre in Cape Town (South Africa), several groups of Asteraceae were studied. One of these was the genus Marasmodes (tribe Anthemideae). After a careful taxonomic study of additional material, including the first species described by A. P. de Candolle, the author has concluded that eight collections should be considered as new species. Psephellus turcicus sp. nov. (Asteraceae), a new chasmophyte species from central Anatolia, Turkey

A new species, Psephellus turcicus A.Duran & Hamzaoğlu (Asteraceae) in sect. Psephelloidei (Boiss.) Wagenitz & Hellwig is described and illustrated from Anatolia, Turkey. The species grows on limestone crevices in Kazankaya Canyon (A5 Yozgat) in central Anatolia. A neo-endemic confined to Kazankaya Canyon, it is closely related to Psephellus psephelloides (Freny & Sint.) Wagenitz. Diagnostic morphological characters from closely similar taxa are discussed, and arranged in a key of Turkish similar Psephellus Cass. The ecology, biogeography and conservation status of the species are also presented. Achene surface morphology of P. turcicus and P. psephelloides are examined by SEM. A new species of Anthemis L. (Asteraceae) from Central Spain

CARRETERO, J. L., 1992. A new species of Anthemis L. (Asteraceae) from Central Spain. A new species of Anthemis is described from the eastern Toledo Mountains. The morphological relationships to other taxa, as well as the chorology and ecology of the new species are presented.     

Klasea yunus-emrei (Asteraceae), a new species from central Anatolia,Turkey

A new species, Klasea yunus-emrei B. Dogan, Ocak & A. Duran (Asteraceae), is described from central Anatolia, Turkey. The species grows on calcareous soils in the Alpu district (Eski¸ehir province) in central Anatolia. It is morphologically similar to Klasea lasiocephala (Bornm.) Greuter & Wagenitz. Diagnostic morphological characters from closely similar taxa are discussed and arranged in a key. Ecology, conservation status and biogeography of the species are also presented. The achene surface of K. yunus-emrei and K. lasiocephala are examined by Scanning Electron Microscope. In addition, the geographical distribution of the new species and other related species are mapped.     

A new species of Swertia L. (Gentianaceae) from Nepal

Swertia barunensis P. Chassot sp. nov. from Nepal is described and illustrated. It was collected in 1997 in an alpine meadow in the Makalu Barun National Park at an elevation of 4200 m. It belongs to Swertia section Macranthos T.-N. Ho & S.-W. Liu and resembles S. pseudohookeri H. Smith, from which it differs mainly by the shape of the nectary and the exomorphic seed structure. A key to all the species of sect. Macranthos is provided. The affinities of S. barunensis with some other taxa in the subtribe Swertiinae (Griseb.) A new species of Centaurea L. (Cardueae: Asteraceae) from Turkey

A new species of Centaurea L., C. kizildaghensis (Cardueae: Asteraceae), is described and illustrated from south Anatolia. It is restricted to the serpentine rocky slopes of Kızıl Dağ (C3 Konya–Derebucak, Çamlık), and is closely related to C. pseudokotschyi Wagenitz and C. drabifolioides Hub.-Mor., from which it differs in stem, leaf, and phyllary appendage characters. The diagnostic morphological characters are discussed. A new species of Ornithogalum (Liliaceae) from South Anatolia, Turkey

Ornithogalum chetikianum Uysal, Ertugrul & Dural sp. nov. (Liliaceae) is described and illustrated from Anatolia, Turkey. The species grows on alpine steppe and stony places in Bozkır (C4 Konya province) in South Anatolia. It is closely related to O. nutans L. and O. demirizianum Malyer & M.Koyuncu, an endemic confined to South Anatolia. Diagnostic morphological characters are discussed. Tripleurospermum ziganaense (Asteraceae,Anthemideae), a new species from north‐east Anatolia,Turkey

A new species of Tripleurospermum Sch.Bip., Tripleurospermum ziganaense Inceer & Hay?rl?oglu‐Ayaz (Asteraceae, Anthemideae), is described and illustrated. The species grows in open places, on rocky slopes and on roadsides in north‐east Anatolia, Turkey.
