Four new species of the genus Saigona Matsumura (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Dictyopharidae) from China

Four new species of the genus Saigona Matsumura, 1910, Saigona anisomorpha Zheng, Yang & Chen, sp. n., Saigona daozhenensis Zheng, Yang & Chen, sp. n., Saigona dicondylica Zheng, Yang & Chen, sp. n. and Saigona tenuisa Zheng, Yang & Chen, sp. n., from China, are described and illustrated. A key to the species of Saigona is provided.     

Three new bamboo-feeding species of the genus Symplanella Fennah (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Caliscelidae) from China

Three new species of the Oriental caliscelid planthopper genus Symplanella Fennah, S. hainanensis sp. n., S. recurvata sp. n. and S. zhongtua sp. n., are described and illustrated from South China. A checklist and a key to species of genus Symplanella are provided.     

A new genus of the tribe Issini (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Issidae) from China

Macrodarumoides petalinus, a new genus and species of Issidae (Hemiptera) are described based on specimens from Yunnan and Guangxi, China.

记述七刺网蝽族一新属、新种Jingicoris yunanensis gen. Nov. et sp. Nov.。模式标本保存于南开大学昆虫标本室。     

Two new species of the genus Doryphorina Melichar, 1912 (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Dictyopharidae) from China

Two new species of the genus Doryphorina Melichar, 1912, D. conglobatus Zheng, Yang & Chen, sp. n. and D. guizhouensis Zheng, Yang & Chen, sp. n., from China are described and illustrated. A key is given to identify all the known species of Doryphorina.

记述中国象蜡蝉科(半翅目:蜡蝉总科)1新属:滕象蜡蝉属 Dictyotenguna gen. n.,其模式种为周氏滕象蜡蝉 Dictyotenguna choui sp. nov..简要介绍了东洋界和东古北界象蜡蝉系统学发展概况。模式标本保存于中国科学院动物研究所国家动物博物馆。     

Revision of the planthopper genus Nycheuma Fennah (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Delphacidae)

Chinese species in the genus Nycheuma Fennah, 1964a (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Delphacidae: Delphacinae: Delphacini) are revised to include three species: Nycheuma cognatum (Muir, 1917), Nycheuma dimorpha (Matsumura, 1910) and Nycheuma nilotica Linnavuori, 1973. Nycheuma coctum Yang, 1989 is placed in synonymy with Nycheuma nilotica Linnavuori, 1973. Nycheuma dimorpha (Matsumura, 1910) is newly recorded from China. The generic characteristics are redefined. The main morphological characters, male genitalia of 3 species are described or redescribed and illustrated. A key to Chinese species in the genus is provided.     

Review of the planthopper genus Neodurium Fennah, 1956 (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Issidae)

The planthopper genus Neodurium Fennah is reviewed and Neodurium fennahi Chang & Chen, sp. n. (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Issidae) from China (Yunnan), is described and illustrated. A checklist of the species of Neodurium is given and a key provided for their separation. The female genitalia of Neodurium species are described for the first time.     

Revision of the genus Neometopina (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Delphacidae) from China

The planthopper genus Neometopina Yang (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Delphacidae: Delphacinae: Delphacini) is revised to include 2 species: Neometopina penghuensis Yang, 1989 (China: Guizhou: Maolan), and Neometopina orientalis (Qin & Zhang) comb. n. (China: Hainan: Bawangling) (transferred from Laminatopina Qin & Zhang). The included species are described and illustrated, and a key to species is provided.     

The oldest known Lophopidae planthopper (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha) from the European Palaeocene

Cintux menatensis nov. gen., nov. sp., the oldest representative of the planthopper family Lophopidae, is described based on the specimen from the Palaeocene of Menat (Auvergne, France). The formerly proposed evolutionary relationship of the family is reviewed in the light of the record of lophopids in European deposits. The biogeographic pattern and host plant relationships of these insects are briefly discussed. The taphonomic features of the fossil specimen are examined under Low Vacuum SEM and the results of X-Ray EDS analysis are presented.

Two new replacement names for the planthopper genera in Dictyopharidae (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha)

New replacement names are proposed for two genera of the family Dictyopharidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha). The following changes are proposed: Neonotostrophia nom. n. for Notostrophia Emeljanov (not Waterhouse); Emeljanovina nom. n. for Glochina Emeljanov (not Meigen); Neonotostrophia nigrosuturalis (Melichar, 1912) comb. n. from Notostrophia nigrosuturalis (Melichar, 1912) = Dictyophara nigrosuturalis Melichar, 1912 and Emeljanovina dixoni (Distant, 1906) comb. n. from Glochina dixoni (Distant, 1906) = Dictyophara dixoni Distant, 1906.     

The genus Uroleucon (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in the Korean Peninsula,with descriptions of two new species

The aphid genus Uroleucon Mordvilko (Hemiptera: Aphididae) is recognized from the Korean Peninsula. A total of twenty species of Korean Uroleucon are confirmed including two new species: U. (Uromelan) chrysanthemicola sp. nov., on Chrysanthemum sp. (Asteraceae) from Mt. Oseo, Korea and U. (Uroleucon) jejuni sp. nov., on Echinops setifer Iljin (Asteraceae) from Jeju Island, Korea. Mestus cruciatus,a new delphacid species from southwest China with some remarks on the genus (Hemiptera,Fulgoromorpha, Delphacidae)

A new delphacid (Hemiptera, Fulgoromorpha, Delphacidae) species, Mestus cruciatus sp. n. is described based on specimens from Yunnan Province, China. Habitus photos and illustrations of male genitalia are provided. The Mestus species and phylogenetic arrangement of this genus is discussed. A key to the species of Mestus is also provided.
