The new combinations of monomers presented in this work were evaluated in order to create an elastic material for potential application in soft tissue engineering. Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) with L-lactide (LLA) and 1,5-dioxepan-2-one (DXO) have been synthesized using a cyclic five-membered tin alkoxide initiator. The block copolymers were designed in such a way that poly(trimethylene carbonate-co-1,5-dioxepan-2-one) formed an amorphous middle block and the poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) formed semicrystalline terminal blocks. The amorphous middle block consisted of relatively randomly distributed TMC and DXO monomer units, and the defined block structure of the PLLA terminal segments was confirmed by 13C NMR. The properties of the TMC-DXO-LLA copolymers were compared with those of triblock copolymers based either on LLA-TMC or on LLA-DXO. Differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic mechanical analysis data confirmed the micro-phase separation in the copolymers. The mechanical properties of the copolymers were evaluated using tensile testing and cycling loading. All of the copolymers synthesized showed a highly elastic behavior. The properties of copolymers could be tailored by altering the proportions of the different monomers.  相似文献

New resorbable and elastomeric ABA tri- and multiblock copolymers have been successfully synthesized by combining ring-opening polymerization with ring-opening polycondensation. Five different poly(L-lactide-b-1,5-dioxepan-2-one-b-L-lactide) triblock copolymers and one new poly(L-lactide-b-1,5-dioxepan-2-one) multiblock copolymer have been synthesized. The triblock copolymers were obtained by ring-opening polymerization of 1,5-dioxepan-2-one (DXO) and L-lactide (LLA) with a cyclic tin initiator. The new multiblock copolymer was prepared by ring-opening polycondensation of a low molecular weight triblock copolymer with succinyl chloride. The molecular weight and the composition of the final copolymers were easily controlled by adjusting the monomer feed ratio, and all of the polymers obtained had a narrow molecular weight distribution. It was possible to tailor the hydrophilicity of the materials by changing the DXO content. Copolymers with a high DXO content had a more hydrophilic surface than those with a low DXO content. The receding contact angle varied from 27 to 44 degrees. The tensile properties of the copolymers were controlled by altering the PDXO block length. The tensile testing showed that all the polymers were very elastic and had very high elongations-at-break (epsilon(b)). The copolymers retained very good mechanical properties (epsilon(b) approximately 600-800% and sigma(b) approximately 8-20 MPa) throughout the in vitro degradation study (59 days).  相似文献

Acrylate-based block copolymers, synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) processes, were evaluated as drug delivery matrices for the controlled release of paclitaxel from coronary stents. The polymers were multiblock copolymers consisting of poly(butyl acrylate) or poly(lauryl acrylate) soft blocks and hard blocks composed of poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(isobornyl acrylate), or poly(styrene) homo- or copolymers. Depending on the ratio of hard to soft blocks in the copolymers, coating formulations were produced that possessed variable elastomeric properties, resulting in stent coatings that maintained their integrity when assessed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging of overexpanded stents. In vitro paclitaxel release kinetics from coronary stents coated with these copolymers typically showed an early burst followed by sustained release behavior, which permitted the elution of the majority of the paclitaxel over a 10-day time period. It was determined that neither the nature of the polyacrylate (n-butyl or lauryl) nor that of the hard block appeared to affect the release kinetics of paclitaxel at a loading of 25% drug by weight, whereas some effects were observed at lower drug loading levels. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis indicated that the paclitaxel was at least partially miscible with the poly(n-butyl acrylate) phase of those block copolymers. The copolymers were also evaluated for sterilization stability by exposing both the copolymer alone and copolymer/paclitaxel coated stents to e-beam radiation at doses of 1-3 times the nominal dose used for medical device sterilization (25 kGy). It was found that the copolymers containing blocks bearing quaternary carbons within the polymer backbone were less stable to the radiation and showed a decrease in molecular weight as determined by gel-permeation chromatography. Conversely, those without quaternary carbons showed no significant change in molecular weight when exposed to 3 times the standard radiation dose. There was no significant change in drug release profile from any of the acrylate-based copolymers after exposure to 75 kGy of e-beam radiation, and this was attributed to the inherent radiation stability of the poly(n-butyl acrylate) center block.  相似文献

Polymeric biomaterials have played an integral role in tissue engineering, biomedical devices, and targeted drug delivery. Block copolymers are especially important because their physical and chemical properties can be controlled by adjusting the ratio, size, and type of constituting blocks. Herein, the synthesis and characterization of diblock copolymers composed of poly(ethylene glycol) and a polycarbonate based on the metabolic intermediate, dihydroxyacetone, are reported. The length of the dihydroxyacetone-based block was controlled by adjusting the reactant feed ratios and initiator injection conditions. Intermediates and final products were characterized via (1)H NMR, GPC, DSC, TGA, and diffusion-ordered NMR spectroscopy. The dihydroxyacetone-based hompolymer is insoluble in water and most organic solvents, but is hydrophilic in nature. This, coupled with poly(ethylene glycol)'s solubility characteristics, allows the block copolymer to form nanoparticles in aqueous and organic anti-solvents. Dynamic light scattering and TEM results indicated the formation of spherical nanoparticles.  相似文献

The amino poly(trimethylene carbonate)-NHt-Boc (PTMC-NHt-Boc) and poly(epsilon-caprolactone)-NH -Boc (PCL-NHt-Boc) were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of TMC or CL and subsequently deprotected into the corresponding PTMC-NH2 and PCL-NH2. These functional homopolymers were used as macroinitiators for the ROP of gamma-benzyl-L-glutamate N-carboxyanhydride (BLG), consequently, giving the respective diblock copolymers PTMC-b-PBLG and PCL-b-PBLG in almost quantitative yields. The (co)polymers have been characterized by NMR and SEC analyses. DSC and IR studies confirmed the block structure of the copolymers and highlighted a phase separation between the rigid peptide (alpha-helix conformation) and the more flexible polyester segments. The self-assembly and the degradation behaviors of the copolymers depended on the nature of the polyester block and on the copolymer composition. Nanoparticles obtained from PBLG block copolymers were twice smaller ( RH < 100 nm) than those formed from PTMC and PCL homopolymers. Finally, their enzymatic degradation revealed that PTMC nanoparticles degraded faster than those made of PCL.  相似文献

Completely renewable resource-based, degradable composites of poly(l-lactide) and Nodax [poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate)] were prepared by a melt blending procedure. oligoNodax-b-poly(l-lactide) diblock copolymers were synthesized and their use as compatibilizers in these melt blends was investigated. The block copolymers were prepared from microbially produced Nodax polyhydroxyalkanoate by a two-step transesterification and macroinitiator ring opening polymerization method. Addition of Nodax increased the notched Izod impact resistance of the binary blends compared to that of PLLA homopolymer (44+/-6 J m(-1) versus 22+/-2 J m(-1), respectively). Further addition of the oligoNodax-b-poly(l-lactide) block copolymers to form ternary blends resulted in composites with improved dispersion and decreased Nodax particle size, but no additional improvement in the notched Izod impact properties. Significant Nodax degradation during processing coupled with a high Nodax entanglement molecular weight, as well as crystallization and low impact resistance of the Nodax dispersed phase are implicated as major factors impeding further toughening.  相似文献

New biodegradable multiblock amphiphilic and thermosensitive poly(ether ester urethane)s consisting of poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate] (PHB), poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), and poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) blocks were synthesized, and their aqueous solutions were found to undergo a reversible sol-gel transition upon temperature change at very low copolymer concentrations. The multiblock poly(ether ester urethane)s were synthesized from diols of PHB, PEG, and PPG using 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate as a coupling reagent. The chemical structures and molecular characteristics of the copolymers were studied by GPC, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and FTIR. The thermal stability of the poly(PEG/PPG/PHB urethane)s was studied by thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), and the PHB contents were calculated based on the thermal degradation profile. The results were in good agreement with those obtained from the 1H NMR measurements. The poly(PEG/PPG/ PHB urethane)s presented better thermal stability than the PHB precursors. The water soluble poly(ether ester urethane)s had very low critical micellization concentration (CMC). Aqueous solutions of the new poly(ether ester urethane)s underwent a sol-gel-sol transition as the temperature increased from 4 to 80 degrees C, and showed a very low critical gelation concentration (CGC) ranging from 2 to 5 wt %. As a result of its multiblock architecture, a novel associated micelle packing model can be proposed for the sol-gel transition for the copolymer gels of this system. The new material is thought to be a promising candidate for injectable drug systems that can be formulated at low temperatures and forms a gel depot in situ upon subcutaneous injection.  相似文献

Novel multiblock polyesterurethanes containing crystalline hard and amorphous soft segments and pendant cinnamamide moieties were designed and synthesized via a two-step polyaddition reaction using N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) cinnamamide (BHECA), biodegradable poly(l,l-lactide) (PLLA), and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) diols as raw materials and hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) as coupling agent and characterized by (1)H NMR, FTIR, UV, DSC, tensile and photomechanical tests, and so on. The copolymers behaved as typical thermoplastic elastomers and showed satisfactory thermal and mechanical properties. They also exhibited light-induced shape memory effect (LSME) at room temperature on exposure to light stimuli. The pendant cinnamamide groups work as photoresponsive molecular switches and provide the polymer with LSME via reversible [2 + 2] cycloaddition cross-linking. The strain fixity (R(f)) increases with the content of BHECA and the strain recovery (R(r)) increases with the content of PLLA. The R(f) reaches 50% at a BHECA content of 20 wt % and the R(r) reaches >95% at PLLA content of 50 wt %.  相似文献

"Schizophrenic" diblock copolymers containing nonionic and zwitterionic blocks were prepared with well-controlled molecular weights via atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). In this work, we report a systematic study of how morphological changes of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-block-poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate) (PNIPAAm-b-PSBMA) copolymers affect hemocompatibility in human blood solution. The "schizophrenic" behavior of PNIPAAm-b-PSBMA was observed by (1)H NMR, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and turbidity measurement with double morphological transition, exhibiting both lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and upper critical solution temperature (UCST) in aqueous solution. Below the UCST of PSBMA block, micelles were obtained with a core of insoluble PSBMA association and a shell of soluble PNIPAAm, whereas the opposite micelle structure was observed above the LCST of PNIPAAm block. In between the UCST and LCST, unimers with both soluble blocks were detected. Hydrodynamic size of prepared polymers and copolymers is determined to illustrate the correlations between intermolecular nonionic/zwitterionic associations and blood compatibility of PNIPAAm, PNIPAAm-b-PSBMA, and PSBMA suspension in human blood. Human fibrinogen adsorption onto the PNIPAAm-b-PSBMA copolymers from single-protein solutions was measured by DLS to determine the nonfouling stability of copolymer suspension. The new nonfouling nature of PNIPAAm-b-PSBMA copolymers was demonstrated to show extremely high anticoagulant activity and antihemolytic activity in human blood over a wide range of explored temperatures from 4 to 40 °C. The temperature-independent blood compatibility of nonionic/zwitterionic block copolymer along with their schizophrenic phase behavior in aqueous solution suggests their potential in blood-contacting applications.  相似文献

Coumarin-endcapped tetrabranched liquid copolymers composed of epsilon-caprolactone and trimethylene carbonate (TMC), prepared using pentaerythritol or four-branched poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as an initiator, were ultraviolet irradiated to produce photocured solid biodegradable copolymers. The hydrolytic degradation behaviors of photocured films were determined from the weight loss of the films. The initial hydrolysis rate (determined for up to 24 h using a quartz crystal microbalance) was enhanced with aqueous solutions of higher pH. The hydrolysis rate in the early period of immersion was increased with an increase in TMC content, whereas that in the later period (week order) decreased with a increase in TMC content. This inverse relation of composition dependence on the hydrolysis rate between the early and late periods was discussed. Topological measurements using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy as well as depth profiles of the fluorescein-stained hydrolyzed layer showed that for the pentaerythritol-initiated copolymer, irrespective of copolymer composition, hydrolysis occurred at surface regions and surface erosion proceeded with immersion time. For PEG-based copolymers, both surface erosion and bulk degradation occurred simultaneously. The hydrolyzed surfaces became highly wettable with water and exhibited noncell adhesivity.  相似文献

Narrowly dispersed, temperature-responsive BAB block copolymers capable of forming physical gels under physiological conditions were synthesized via aqueous reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The use of a difunctional trithiocarbonate facilitates the two-step synthesis of BAB copolymers with symmetrical outer blocks. The outer B blocks of the triblock copolymers consist of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and the inner A block consists of poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide). The copolymers form reversible physical gels above the phase transition temperature of PNIPAM at concentrations as low as 7.5 wt % copolymer. Mechanical properties similar to collagen, a naturally occurring polypeptide used as a three-dimensional in vitro cell growth scaffold, have been achieved. Herein, we report the mechanical properties of the gels as a function of solvent, polymer concentration, and inner block length. Structural information about the gels was obtained through pulsed field gradient NMR experiments and confocal microscopy.  相似文献

Hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) was used as a core molecule for controlled grafting of monomers by ATRP, the aim being to produce densely grafted comb polymers. HPC was either allowed to react with an ATRP initiator or the first generation initiator-functionalized 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid dendron to create macroinitiators having high degrees of functionality. The macroinitiators were then "grafted from" using ATRP of methyl methacrylate (MMA) or hexadecyl methacrylate. Block copolymers were obtained by chain extending PMMA-grafted HPCs via the ATRP of tert-butyl acrylate. Subsequent selective acidolysis of the tert-butyl ester moieties was performed to form a block of poly(acrylic acid) resulting in amphiphilic block copolymer grafts. The graft copolymers were characterized by 1H NMR and FT-IR spectroscopies, DSC, TGA, rheological measurements, DLS, and tapping mode AFM on samples spin coated upon mica. It was found that the comb (co)polymers were in the nanometer size range and that the dendronization had an interesting effect on the rheological properties.  相似文献

Condensation of Bu(2)Sn(OMe)(2) with poly(ethylene glycol)s yielded macrocyclic tin alkoxides which were, in turn, used as cyclic initiators for the ring-expansion polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone, D,L-lactide, or trimethylene carbonate. The resulting cyclic triblock copolymers were in situ cross-linked with trimesoyl chloride. The lengths of the A-B-A triblock segments were varied via the monomer-initiator ratio (M/I) or via the lengths of the poly(ethylene glycol)s. After extraction with CH(2)Cl(2), the isolated networks were characterized by (1)H NMR spectroscopy, DSC measurements, and swelling experiments. The release of dexamethasone and 5-fluorouracil from two triblock networks was studied in physiological buffer solutions at 37 degrees C over a period of several weeks. A strong initial burst was found in all cases. Only a weak initial burst and a more continuous release was observed when networks of random L-lactide/epsilon-caprolactone copolymers were studied under the same conditions.  相似文献

To realize safer and effective drug administration, novel well-defined and biocompatible amphiphilic block copolymers containing phospholipid polymer sequences were synthesized. At first, the homopolymer of 2-methacryloyloxyethylphosphorylcholine (MPC) was synthesized in water by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) controlled radical polymerization. The "living" polymerization was confirmed by the fact that the number-average molecular weight increased linearly with monomer conversion while the molecular weight distribution remained narrow independent of the conversion. The poly(MPC) thus prepared is end-capped with a dithioester moiety. Using the dithioester-capped poly(MPC) as a macro chain transfer agent, AB diblock copolymers of MPC and n-butyl methacrylate (BMA) were synthesized. Associative properties of the amphiphilic block copolymer (pMPC(m)-BMA(n)) with varying poly(BMA) block lengths were investigated using NMR, fluorescence probe, static light scattering (SLS), and quasi-elastic light scattering (QELS) techniques. Proton NMR data in D2O indicated highly restricted motions of the n-butyl moieties, arising from hydrophobic associations of poly(BMA) blocks. Fluorescence spectra of N-phenyl-1-naphthylamine indicated that the probes were solubilized in the polymer micelles in water. The formation of polymer micelles comprising a core with poly(BMA) blocks and shell with hydrophilic poly(MPC) blocks was suggested by SLS and QELS data. The size and mass of the micelle increased with increasing poly(BMA) block length. With an expectation of a pharmaceutical application of pMPC(m)-BMA(n), solubilization of a poorly water-soluble anticancer agent, paclitaxel (PTX), was investigated. PTX dissolved well in aqueous solutions of pMPC(m)-BMA(n) as compared with pure water, implying that PTX is incorporated into the hydrophobic core of the polymer micelle. Since excellent biocompatible poly(MPC) sequences form an outer shell of the micelle, pMPC(m)-BMA(n) may find application as a promising reagent to make a good formulation with a hydrophobic drug.  相似文献

Polymeric materials based on epsilon-caprolactone (CL), 1,5-dioxepan-2-one (DXO), and trimethylene carbonate (TMC) were prepared and evaluated as possible candidates for polymer-on-multielectrode (PoM) applications. CL was copolymerized with either DXO or TMC in the presence of the diol initiator 1,4-benzenedimethanol (BDM). The ring-opening polymerization experiments, carried out in bulk and using tin(II) catalysis, yielded the desired low molecular weight random copolymer diols, as evidenced by NMR, IR, MALDI-ToF MS, and DSC techniques. Upon reaction with acryloyl chloride, the corresponding diacrylate end-capped copolymers were obtained. The latter were characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy, and their photocross-linking (in the presence of a UV initiator) was followed by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy. Transparent and soft thin films of the copoly(ether-ester) and copoly(ester-carbonate) diacrylates were prepared and cured under UV irradiation. The resulting polymeric films showed good biocompatibility properties as far as in vitro neural stem cells proliferation and differentiation to neurons and astrocytes are concerned. Noteworthy are the beneficial effects obtained upon preconditioning the copolymers by means of the cell-culture medium and the excellent properties shown particularly by the CL-TMC copolymer. Moreover, preliminary results show that microchannel formation by photocuring is possible with the synthesized polymers.  相似文献

The synthesis of biocompatible, thermo-responsive ABA triblock copolymers in which the outer A blocks comprise poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) and the central B block is poly(2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine) is achieved using atom transfer radical polymerization with a commercially available bifunctional initiator. These novel triblock copolymers are water-soluble in dilute aqueous solution at 20 degrees C and pH 7.4 but form free-standing physical gels at 37 degrees C due to hydrophobic interactions between the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) blocks. This gelation is reversible, and the gels are believed to contain nanosized micellar domains; this suggests possible applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering.  相似文献

The synthesis of new polymeric biomaterials using biocompatible building blocks is important for the advancement of the biomedical field. We report the synthesis of statistically random poly(carbonate-ester)s derived from lactic acid and dihydroxyacetone by ring-opening polymerization. The monomer mole feed ratio and initiator concentration were adjusted to create various copolymer ratios and molecular weights. A dimethoxy acetal protecting group was used to stabilize the dihydroxyacetone and was removed using elemental iodine and acetone at reflux to produce the final poly(lactide-co-dihydroxyacetone) copolymers. The characteristics of the copolymers in their protected and deprotected forms were characterized by (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, GPC, TGA, and DSC. Hydrolytic degradation of the deprotected copolymers was tracked over an 8-week time frame. The results show that faster degradation occurred with increased carbonate content in the copolymer backbone. The degradation pattern of the copolymers was visualized using SEM and revealed a trend toward surface erosion as the primary mode of degradation.  相似文献

This study presents chemical synthesis, structural, and physical characterization of novel biodegradable aliphatic poly(butylene succinate-co-cyclic carbonate)s P(BS-co-CC) bearing functional carbonate building blocks. First, five kinds of six-membered cyclic carbonate monomers, namely, trimethylene carbonate (TMC), 1-methyl-1,3-trimethylene carbonate (MTMC), 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-trimethylene carbonate (DMTMC), 5-benzyloxytrimethylene carbonate (BTMC), and 5-ethyl-5-benzyloxymethyl trimethylene carbonate (EBTMC), were well prepared from ethyl chloroformate and corresponding diols at 0 degrees C in THF solution with our modified synthetic strategies. Then, a series of new P(BS-co-CC)s were synthesized at 210 degrees C through a simple combination of poly-condensation and ring-opening-polymerization (ROP) of hydroxyl capped PBS macromers and the prepared carbonate monomers, and titanium tetra-isopropoxide Ti(i-OPr)4 was used as a more suitable catalyst of 5 candidate catalysts which could concurrently catalyze poly-condensation and ROP. By means of NMR, GPC, FTIR, and thermal analytical instruments, macromolecular structures and physical properties have been characterized for these aliphatic poly(ester carbonate)s. The experimental results indicated that novel biodegradable P(BS-co-CC)s were successfully synthesized with number average molecular weight Mn ranging from 24.3 to 99.6 KDa and various CC molar contents without any detectable decarboxylation and that the more bulky side group was attached to a cyclic carbonate monomer, the lower reactivity for its copolymerization would be observed. The occurrences of 13C NMR signal splitting of succinyl carbonyl attributed to the BS building blocks could be proposed due to the randomized sequences of BS and CC building blocks. FTIR characterization indicated two distinct absorption bands at 1716 and 1733 approximately 1735 cm(-1), respectively, stemming from carbonyl stretching modes for corresponding BS and CC units. With regard to their thermal properties, it is seen that the synthesized P(BS-co-CC)s exhibited thermal degradation temperatures 10 approximately 20 degrees C higher than that of PBS. On the basis of the synthesized P(BS-co-BTMC)s, new aliphatic poly(butylene succinate-co-5-hydroxy trimethylene carbonate)s were further synthesized, bearing hydrophilic hydroxyl pendant functional groups through an optimized Pd/C catalyzed hydrogenation. These semi-crystalline new biodegradable aliphatic copolymers with tunable physical properties and functional carbonate building blocks might be expected as potential new biomaterials.  相似文献

Poly(methyl methacrylate) and polystyrene having terminal amino groups were synthesized by the radical polymerization of those monomers in the presence of 2-mercaptoethylammonium chloride as a chain-transfer agent. By the terminal group analysis and the molecular weight determination of the polymers, 0.5–1.3 amino groups were found in a chain of poly(methyl methacrylate) and 0.5–2.5 amino groups in a chain of polystyrene. Using these polymers having a terminal amino group as an initiator, the block polymerization of α-amino acid N-carboxyanhydride (NCA) was carried out. In the polymerizations of Glu(OBzl) NCA and Lys(Z) NCA by the poly(methyl methacrylate) initiator, the terminal amino group underwent a nucleophilic addition reaction to NCA and initiated the polymerization, yielding A-B-type block copolymers in a high yield. The same was observed in the polymerizations of Gly(OBzl) NCA and Lys(Z) NCA by the polystyrene initiator. By eliminating the protecting groups of the side chains of the polypeptide segment, the block copolymers poly(methyl methacrylate)-poly(Glu), poly(methyl methacrylate)-poly(Lys), polystyrene-poly(Glu) and polystyrene-poly(Lys) were synthesized with little side reactions. The side chain amino groups of poly(Lys) segment in the poly(methyl methacrylate)-poly(Lys) block copolymers were sulphonated or stearoylated successfully.  相似文献

Amphiphilic diblock copolymers with various block compositions were synthesized with monomethoxy-terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (MePEG) as the hydrophilic block and poly(5-benzyloxy-trimethylene carbonate) (PBTMC) as the hydrophobic block. When the copolymerization was conducted using MePEG as a macroinitiator and stannous 2-ethylhexanoate (Sn(Oct)2) as a catalyst, the molecular weight of the second block was uncontrollable, and the method only afforded a mixture of homopolymer and copolymer with a broad molecular weight distribution. By contrast, the use of the triethylaluminum-MePEG initiator yielded block copolymers with controllable molecular weight and a more narrow molecular weight distribution than the copolymers obtained using Sn(Oct)2. GPC and 1H NMR studies confirmed that the macroinitiator was consumed and the copolymer composition was as predicted. Two of the newly synthesized MePEG-b-PBTMC copolymers were evaluated in terms of properties primarily relating to their use in micellar drug delivery. MePEG-b-PBTMC micelles with a narrow monomodal size distribution were prepared using a high-pressure extrusion technique. The MePEG-b-PBTMC copolymers were also confirmed to be biodegradable and noncytotoxic.  相似文献
