对蛇Ju属鱼类进行形态度量学及主成分分析的研究结果表明:蛇Ju属共有6个有效种,分别是长蛇Ju(Sauro-gobio dumerili Bleeker)、蛇Ju(S.dabryi Bleeker)、无斑蛇Ju(S.immaculatus Koller)、细尾蛇Ju(S.gracilicaudatus Yao et Yang)湘江蛇Ju(S.xiangjiangensis Tang)和光唇蛇Ju(S.gymnocheilus Lo,Yao et Chen)。云南程海蛇Ju和其他地理区域的蛇Ju在形态上没有显著的差异,不能单列为一个种,蛇Ju属鱼类种间形态上的差异主要表现在与游泳、摄食有关的射体纵轴、头部和尾柄的性状特征上,这些都是蛇Ju属鱼类长期适应其生活环境的结果。  相似文献

109 African Black Oystercatchers Haematopus moquini were caught, measured and sexed by cloacal examination during the 1979/1980 breeding season. Six standard taxonomic variables were measured. Females were larger than males in all dimensions considered. The most dimorphic characters were mass and exposed culmen length. The data were subjected to stepwise discriminant analysis and a linear function was derived which allowed birds of unknown sex to be sexed. The function is D = ?0,391x1 ?0,016 x2 +0,218 x3 +0,714 x4 +15,946 where x1 = exposed culmen length (mm), x2 = body mass (g), x3 = length of tarsometatarsus (mm) and x4 = culmen depth at the gonys. Values of D from the above equation less than zero indicate a female while those greater than zero indicate a male. The greater the divergence of D from zero, the higher the probability of correctly sexing an unknown individual: once D> ± 1,2, p>0,99.  相似文献

鲂属(Megalobrama)鱼类是鲤科(Cyprinidae)鲌亚科(Cultrinae)中一群分布广的较大型经济鱼类1,有的种已作为淡水养殖对象,如着名的武昌鱼.多年以来,由于过度捕捞,广泛的移殖和人工繁殖等诸多因素,鲂属鱼类的种质资源正受到衰退和混杂的威胁2.以中国科学院水生生物研究所淡水鱼类标本馆收藏的标本为基础,对鲂属鱼类的广东妨、厚颌鲂、鲂、团头鲂和鳊的标本进行了测量和分析,希望对鲂属鱼类的种间差异、物种鉴定特征、物种分化过程有较全面的了解,并为鲂属鱼类资源的利用和保护提供参考.    相似文献

形态测量学用定量化的方法和手段描述、研究对象形态特征。几何形态测量学是形态测量学的分支,用界标点或轮廓线等标识研究对象的形态,并运用多变量运算进行量化分析和判别。形态测量学方法在生物学与古生物学领域的应用日益广泛,在生物的个体发育、系统演化、类群判别等方面均可发挥重要作用。本文重点介绍了目前在形态测量学中常用的数据类型、分析方法与步骤,即线性距离、界标点、轮廓线等数据类型的获取,普鲁克迭加、傅里叶转换、特征形状分析与增强特征形状分析等数据转换方法,以及主变量分析、典型变量分析等常用多变量线性回归方法的原理与分析过程。选择以类有孔虫个体发育与类群鉴定中几何形态测量学的应用为例,解释最常用的多变量线性回归方法——主成分分析与典型变量分析的应用与结果剖析。  相似文献

A phylogenetic approach to the study of evolutionary patterns is based on taxic homologies (synapomorphies). In contrast, the recognition of evolutionary processes (namely heterochronies) involves analysis of the entire morphology. Recent developments in geometric morphometry permit analysis of morphological similarities grounded in operational homologies. Such morphometric techniques are explored (1) at the level of evolutionary processes, and (2) as a complement in exploration of phylogenetic relationships. To examplify this, we perform a two-part study of the ontogeny and phylogeny of the spatangoid sea urchin Echinocardium. First, a phylogenetic analysis of ten Recent species in the genus is performed on 18 informative characters of the test. Second, morphological divergences among the species are analyzed using procrustean (superimposition) methods based on 49 homologous points. An additive distance tree is built from a matrix of morphometric distances among adult specimens. This tree is fully congruent with the phyletic results. Ontogenetic processes are explored by inserting ontogenetic series into the analysis. A distance tree including the juvenile stages shows that the general evolutionary trend of the genus is peramorphic, but species-to-species comparisons attest that no general clinal trend exists. Our analysis emphasizes the importance of morphometric approaches in evolutionary studies (1) for the understanding of heterochronies; (2) to trace the morphological implications of phylogenetic patterns; and (3) to estimate the impact of homoplasies.  相似文献

采用TPS(thin-plate spline)形态计量软件计量了中华蟾蜍Bufogargarizans幼体蝌蚪发育中软骨性颅骨的11项形态指标的变化,采用颅骨总长(TLC,the total length of chondrocranium)线性回归分析了各形态特征与颅骨总长的关系。通过对中华蟾蜍幼体蝌蚪颅骨的线性形态测量,结果表明喙上软骨、内睑部关节距等呈负异速生长,外睑部关节距呈同速生长;听囊等感受结构呈正异速生长,与Emerson等人的观点有所不同。基于中华蟾蜍幼体蝌蚪各期样本之间颅骨的发育存在着较大的差异,在实验样本的选取中既要考虑Gosner的分期,还要考虑同期蝌蚪个体体型大小。  相似文献

Abstract:  Geometric morphometric analysis using relative warps is applied to the skull roof of 62 species of stereospondyls and their closest outgroups (i.e. basal archegosauriforms) from among temnospondyl amphibians. Twenty-one landmarks and five taxonomic groups are used for comparisons. Their skull evolution is quantified in a morphospace defined by two relative warps axes. The majority of groups show poor concordance between morphological and phylogenetic distances. The only exception is represented by Yates and Warren's study of stereospondyl relationships, in which concordance is high. Only basal archegosauriforms and rhinesuchids show significant overlap in morphospace, although this might be due to low sample sizes. Regression of estimated mean disparity against taxon sample size shows that species within both the trematosauroid and the rhytidostean groups are more widely dispersed in morphospace than species belonging to any of the remaining stereospondyl groups. Stereospondyl skull evolution was characterized by divergence between major clades and convergence within those clades. Changes in patterns of morphospace occupation through time agree with the hypothesis of an 'explosive' radiation in the early Early Triassic, after the extinction of basal archegosauriforms at the end of the Permian.  相似文献

简要回顾了几何形态学的发展历史,介绍了30多年来该领域使用的主要方法及其在生物发育与进化研究中的实际应用.除目前应用最为广泛的标点法和轮廓线法外,基于三维数据的表面特征分析和有限元分析也在该领域得到推广.这些方法可运用于分析两性分化、异速生长、种群分化、种上进化以及复杂功能结构的形态集成等科学问题.几何形态学与生物信息学的综合运用还将有利于探讨表型变化与遗传物质变化的相关性.随着生物成像技术和海量数据计算技术的进步,几何形态学将由目前以二维数据为主的研究向三维重建和分析的方向发展.  相似文献

Although fluctuating asymmetry has become popular as a measure of developmental instability, few studies have examined its developmental basis. We propose an approach to investigate the role of development for morphological asymmetry by means of morphometric methods. Our approach combines geometric morphometrics with the two-way ANOVA customary for conventional analyses of fluctuating asymmetry and can discover localized features of shape variation by examining the patterns of covariance among landmarks. This approach extends the notion of form used in studies of fluctuating asymmetry from collections of distances between morphological landmarks to an explicitly geometric concept of shape characterized by the configuration of landmarks. We demonstrate this approach with a study of asymmetry in the wings of tsetse flies (Glossina palpalis gambiensis). The analysis revealed significant fluctuating and directional asymmetry for shape as well as ample shape variation among individuals and between the offspring of young and old females. The morphological landmarks differed markedly in their degree of variability but multivariate patterns of landmark covariation identified by principal component analysis were generally similar between fluctuating asymmetry (within-individual variability) and variation among individuals. Therefore there is no evidence that special developmental processes control fluctuating asymmetry. We relate some of the morphometric patterns to processes known to be involved in the development of fly wings.  相似文献

Aspects of adult morphometrics and the breeding biology of the summer-breeding Whitechinned Petrel at sub-Antarctic Marion Island, southern Indian Ocean, are given, based on a study conducted in 1980/91, along with additional observations on breeding success made in 1990191. It is concluded that Whitechinned Petrels at Marion Island are similarly sized and breed in a similar manner to other studied populations of the nominate race. The eradication of cats at Marion Island in 1991 should now lead to a slow population recovery.  相似文献

The Bank cormorant Phalacrocorax neglectus is a medium-sized, heavily built but relatively short-tailed cormorant. Males average 2 107 g, females 1794 g. There are significant differences, but overlaps, in mass, wing length, bill, tarsus and tail length between the sexes of breeding adults. The species is all black; adults have a white rump patch and white filoplumes on the head and neck in prenuptial plumage. The white rump patch is lost during breeding. Bare parts are black except for the iris (the only useful aging character) which is dark brown in juveniles, green in subadults and horizontally divided orange-brown above, green below, in adults. Partial albinism is common but leucism is not. Adults can moult while breeding but it seems likely that most moult occurs outside the breeding season. Adults and a single subadult examined exhibited Staffelmauser or stepwise moult of the primaries.  相似文献

Accurately defining species boundaries in the green algae (Chlorophyta) is integral for studies of biodiversity and conservation, water‐quality assessments, and the use of particular species as paleoindicators. Recent molecular phylogenetic and SEM analyses of the family Hydrodictyaceae (Chlorophyta) resolved three phylogenetic lineages of isolates with the Pediastrum duplex Meyen 1829 phenotype. The present study employed analyses of cell shape and cell wall ultrastructure to determine if the three lineages possessing the P. duplex morphotype were distinguishable. Only one of the groups, containing isolates with the P. duplex var. gracillimum West et G. S. West phenotype, was shown to be morphologically distinct from the other two P. duplex groups. The erection of a new genus, Lacunastrum, is proposed to recognize this group as a separate taxon.  相似文献

A simple photographic technique was developed to indirectly estimate body mass data for southern elephant seal ( Mirounga leonina ) cows (postlactation), yearlings, and immature males and females. Regressions of mass on both photographic and morphometric variables (together and separately) yielded useful, predictable models. Using such variables, the best estimation of the actual mass was for postlactation cows, with a 95% confidence interval of ± 2.66% of the predicted body mass. Although combining photographic and morphometric variables produced the most reliable models specifically for cows and yearlings, the most practical model contained only the morphometric variables length and girth squared. Side area was the best correlated single photographic variable and this corresponded with other studies. Photogrammetry could be useful when animals cannot be sedated and are located on a flat surface, but it does require animals to be motionless when approached. Thus, the procedure may be more suited to bulls rather than other age classes and could have a role in studies where large numbers of mass estimations are rapidly required. If sedation is utilized in smaller animals, then the use of body length and girth is the most suitable indirect mass estimation technique to avoid the use of heavy weighing equipment.  相似文献

在晚新生代大型食肉目动物中,鬣狗科动物地史分布广、种类和数量多,在中国出现于中中新世至更新世晚期的地层中。形态功能学家将鬣狗科的60多个化石种分为似豺、似狼和似灵猫等生态类群,这些生态类群和现生仅存的3个食骨和1个食虫类群形成鲜明的对比。生态形态学是基于生物形态与生态环境的密切关系研究不同物种形态所代表的生态位的一种方法;研究者依靠化石鬣狗类与现生种类牙齿和头骨整体形态的相似度进行了生态形态(ecomorphology)的分类,但尚未对这些已定的生态形态进行过多变量的头骨形状分析。本文拟采用平面几何形态测量学的方法对晚中新世临夏盆地的鬣狗类进行研究,并探讨以头骨形状划分其生态形态类型的可行性。几何形态测量法是以生物形态的轮廓作为数据的计算方法,虽然目前尚未被国内古生物研究者广泛采用,但自20世纪30年代多变量统计学的理论成熟以来,这一方法的理论基础和软件算法在国外得到迅速发展,至今已成为近代生物学(neontology)和古生物学形态研究领域的一个常用工具。三维几何形态测量分析也因为三维激光扫描仪的普及而变得更简单和直观。然而,化石标本由于埋藏和保存的关系通常会出现变形或残缺不全,使目前几何形态测量方法在古生物学的应用仍主要以平面数据分析为主。平面数据采集的第一步是从与标本某一平面相垂直的角度拍摄数码照片;虽然拍摄平面的选择通常由研究者自定,但一般会选择待研究类群形状变异最具代表性的一面(如,鱼类一般选取侧视)。第二步是形态的数字化,即使用某一种形态测量软件来标出地标点(landmarks;或称界标点、标志点、标点)。地标点的选择对于分析的结果有直接而且重要的影响,一般会选择Bookstein分类中的I型或II型作为地标点的标准。这两种地标点的共同点是可以从解剖学特征上准确地在每一个标本上找到,而无不明确或复现困难的可能性。数字化后的数据在软件中用数学算法叠加起来(superimposition,或称叠合,重叠),以去除原始图片数据中标本位置、角度及其他与几何形态无关的冗余信息。所有的数字化数据叠加起来后,利用软件计算所有标本之间的几何距离。现在常用的软件中都会以平均几何形状作为中心,而且利用类似主成分分析(principal components analysis)的多变量计算来呈现相对扭曲(或称相对反卷)轴(relative warp axis),后者即是可以用来把形态差异视觉化的多变量数据。这些数据可以用平面坐标图来看不同形态的空间分布,也可以用所谓的薄板样条曲线图(thin-plate spline grid)来表示相对形态上的变化。相对扭曲轴所代表的形状数据还经常被拿来与代表几何物体大小的距心值(或称重心距离,centroid size)做回归曲线分析,以便发现种群中某些形态的异速生长模式(allometry)。本文采用几何形态测量的方法对产自和政地区的鬣狗科Hyaenictitherium,Ictitherium,Adcrocuta和旁鬣狗科Dinocrocuta的材料进行研究,分析了这4个属保存完好的头骨标本的侧面形态。与东非大草原现生食肉动物的头骨整体形态分布的比较和分析表明,和政的鼬鬣狗(Ictitherium)和鬣型鼬鬣狗(Hyaenictitherium)的头骨形状分布介于现生斑鬣狗(Crocuta crocuta)、犬科猎狗(Lycaon pictus)和金豺(Canis aureus)之间,为二者似豺生态形态的解释提供了几何形态测量证据。再者,上述两属化石鬣狗的形状分布与现生斑鬣狗的幼年个体形状重叠,表明现生斑鬣狗头骨的发育机制可能是在鼬鬣狗祖先类型的异速生长规律基础上的持续发育,进而演化出现有的粗壮形态。此外,巨鬣狗(Dinocrocuta)和副鬣狗(Adcrocuta)的头骨形状与现生的斑鬣狗在几何形态测量空间内有普遍重叠的现象,指示了这些异时出现的种类具有相似的生态形态,因而可能占据相近的生态位。结果还显示巨鬣狗和斑鬣狗的幼年个体形状相近,以及两者从幼年到成年发育的形状变化过程也具有相似的规律。因而,巨鬣狗和斑鬣狗之间的趋同演化不仅表现在成年头骨的粗壮程度上,而且在幼年发育模式中也存在平行演化现象。现生发育学与行为生态学已经证实,相对其他大型食肉动物,现生斑鬣狗发育粗壮头骨形态的机制不是以增速生长,而是以延长发育期来实现的。由此推断,巨鬣狗的发育期有可能和现生鬣狗相当(35个月),也可能由于具有相对粗壮和巨大的头骨形态,其发育期会延长些。当然,这个新解释仍需要更多的化石数据和发育研究来证实。  相似文献
