Summary

After having summarily described the ecological conditions of the «Montagna della Duchessa» the author lists the plants collected in this area by him and earlier by Martelli and Anzalone. Notes on the geographical distribution of some species in the most important mountains of Central Italy and critical remarks on the taxonomy of some plants are added to the list. Some taxa must be regarded as having been found for the first time in the Abruzzi.

On the basis of the biological spectrum and of the percentage of the geographical elements, the author takes into account the ecological and phytogeographical features of this flora and points out its affinity with the flora of the lands with an arctic climate.

The author describes the commonest plant-communities, by means of statistical investigations, lists of plants with frequency of each taxa, and field notes. Finally he takes into consideration some peculiar features of the flora of this area.  相似文献

Abstract

Preliminary account of the microfungi colonizing Pistaca lentiscus L. litter - A preliminary account of the microfungi colonizing Pistacia lentiscus L. leaf litter in five small islands of South Sardinia is carried out. Two species, Beltrania rhombica Penzig and Endophragmiella boewei (Crane) Hughes are present in almost all the samples investigated. A very low index in richness of species seems to be characteristic of this particular area.  相似文献

An interesting discovery in the Maritim Alps flora. ARTEMISIA CAMPHORATA Vill. with galls of DIARTHRONOMYIA KIEFFERI Trotter. Its geographical distribution and phytogeographical analysis. — The Author signals the finding, in the Maritim Alps flora, of some stations of an interesting discovery: Artemisia camphorata Vill. with galls of Diarthronomyia (Rhopalomyia) Kiefferi Trotter, and explains the characteristics of this Cecidomyide, (gall-midge).

He exhibits the results obtained through inquiries (investigations) directed to define the geographical area of Diarthronomyia Kiefferi, in reference to that of its host plant, of which the zoocecidium is exclusive.

The author makes also a map of the area and analyses the phytogeographical characte ristics and the mediterranean physiognomy of the new found stations.  相似文献

Abstract

Phytoplankton distribution in a brackish area of North-Eastern Sicily -The abundance and taxonomic composition of the phytoplankton have been studied in relation to temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen in the brackish pools of Oliveri-Tindari, a very restricted area on the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily (Italy). The phytoplankton distribution in these pools has been subject to relatively few investigations. Although this area is not influenced by sewage and industrial effluents, some pools showed episodical high densities of phytoplankton, due to the influence of organic inputs (streams and water-bearings), and anoxic conditions.

The microalgal communities were generally characterized by chlorophyceans, although sometimes other taxa prevailed.  相似文献

Abstract

Aphyllophorales from Mesola Forest (Ferrara) Italy—The present check-list is the first contribution to the knowledge of Aphyllophorales growing in the area of the Mesola Forest. The paper deals with 72 species of Aphyllophorales collected during the years 1980-1983. A further contribution will complete the picture of the Aphyllophorales flora which is particularly interesting and abundant in the forest.

Some of the species listed in the present paper are quite interesting since they are uncommon: Meruliopsis hirtellus and Oxyporus latemarginatus are new to Italy; Flaviporus semisupiniformis is the first European finding and the second world collection.  相似文献

Abstract

New data on the ecology of germination of Althenia filiformis Petit. – The author investigated the natural environment where this species, halophyte and hydrophyte, germinates. The relationships between temperature, salt concentration of pools in which Althenia filiformis lives, and the dormancy of seeds were examined. In particular the author studied the behaviour of this species considering the natural conditions of pools of Orbetello (Tuscany) and Simbirizzi (Sardinia).  相似文献

Abstract

The vegetation of Lucania: an outline. – The vegetation of Lucania is outlined on the basis of the existing literature and of personal observations. After a short review of the botanical literature a new subdivision of this region is proposed taking into consideration both geological and botanical criteria. The various plant formations are described, among them: the vegetation of the sandy beaches along the Ionian Sea; the Policoro Forest on the coastal plain; the Lygeum spartum stands on the clays; the Quercus cents forests, and the Fagus silvatica ones (comprising the two associations Aquifolio-Fagetum and Asyneumati-Fagetum); the relict Abies alba stands; the summit prairies; the Pinus leucodermis stands.  相似文献

Summary

The present work, forming a part of the research on the Valsesian vegetation, is an investigation of the botanical aspects of one of the tributary valleys of the Mastallone torrent, the Sabbiola valley.

The valley has steep flanks cut into compacted crystalline rock; this morphology is very different from other valleys cut through esasily erodible rock, and with gentle slopes, and has marked influence on the vegetation.

At the base of the valley a forest of Alnus incana and Fraxinus Ornus and, ascending, a stand of chestnut trees not very extensive was noted.

Betula pendula was noted as high as 1200 meters (above sea level). Beech trees, more or less heliophilus or acidophilus are extended lo higher elevations, up to 1500 m., and started at about 850–900 m. The hypsophylous conifers were missing and the “cacuminale” vegetation was neither very extensive or typical, because even the highest elevations of this valley are relatively low for this type of vegetation.

The study of the vegetation of this valley upon completion will be incorparated and inte preted together with the results of other research on the Valsesian region.  相似文献

Summary

After having summarly described the ecological conditions of the area of the Roman Province which are studied by the author, he lists the plants collected and adds some critical remarks on the taxonomy. He gives a list of a few taxa, which must be regarded as having been found for the first time in Lazio, or are infrequent in this Province.

The author describes the vegetation of some pastures and woods by means of statistical investigations. Finaly he takes into consideration the reciprocal influence exerted by the various plant-communities.  相似文献

Abstract

A study about the cell wall of AVENA coleoptile epidermis cells. — A new type of lamellae structures embedded in the outer periclinal wall of oat coleoptile epidermis cells has been observed. These structures are present more frequently in the inner non-cutinized portion of the cell wall; their orientation, most often parallel to the cell surface, follows a regular pattern. They are formed by alternate layers of electrontransparent and electron-dense bands. The thickness of these lamellar bodies is about 200–300 Å; their length is rather difficult to determinate. They are bounded by a 30–40 Å thick membrane; the inner compartment is formed by a central highly manganophilic zone 50–70 Å thick where several thin lamellae can be seen and by two lateral zones about 40–50 Å in thickness.

Embedded in the cutinized portion of the wall some elliptical bodies have also been observed, surroundedd by a single membrane, 20 Å in thickness. The interior of these bodies shows thin lamellae enclosed in an electron-transparent stroma.

In experimental conditions unfavourable to growth, the frequency of these structures falls greatly. When the cell distension comes to end, their aspect undergoes deep changes. It is proposed in this paper that these new structures are involved in cell wall growth and development.  相似文献

Abstract

Preliminary studies on the marine phythobenthic communities in the Straits of Sicily and adjacent islands. — The results of algological researches carried out by the Gruppo di Algologia of the S.B.I. in the Straits of Sicily and adjacent islands are reported. 288 species have been collected, 275 of which have been identified: 160 were Rhodophyta, 62 Phaeophyta, 32 Chlorophyta, 16 Cyanophyta and 2 Angiospermae. The vegetational research leads to the following conclusions: 1 - the harbour areas (Pantelleria, Malta: loc. 1 and 11) show a nitrophile vegetation, particulary near La Valletta where an almost pure population of Pterocladia pinnata is found; 2 - there are important biogeographical differences between Pelagie islands (Lampedusa, Linosa) and Pantelleria. In fact the former ones have an algal flora composed mostly of eastern mediterranean species, whilst the latter shows strong affinities with the north-african basin, as is demonstrated by the rich well developed belt of Cystoseira sedoides; 3 - several species of atlantic origin, such as Callophyllis laciniata, Peyssonnelia coriacea, P. inamoena and Castagnea chordariaeformis, have been found on the banks (loc. 3, 6, 7).  相似文献

Abstract

Vegetation of the ponds in the zone of Olbia (northeast Sardinia). – The present paper contains a study on the vegetation of the ponds and marshes in the neighbourhood of Olbia. The following well determined associations have been ascertained: Chaetomorpho-Ruppietum, Salicornietum fruticosae, Arthrocnemeto-Limoniastretum monopetali, Juncetum maritimi, Scirpetum maritimi, Caricetum divisae, Schoeneto-Plantaginetum crassifoliae. Furthermore, some other consociations have been observed (with: Pholiurus incurvas and Triglochin bulbosum; Juncus subulatus; Scirpus setaceus and Spergularia rubra; Agropyrum elongatum and Spartina juncea).

The authors have also taken into consideration the present distribution of the vegetation in relation to the modifications due to the fact that this area has been reclaimed.  相似文献

The effects of kinetin on chlorophyll breakdown in irradiated barley leaves. — Kinetin is shown to inhibit the breakdown of chlorophyll in isolated barley leaves. Moreover the kinetin is shown to inhibit, even if with lower effect, the chlorophyll breakdown in irradiated barley leaves. This possible correlation of these observations, with kinetin promoted protein synthesis is suggested.  相似文献

Abstract

The algae of the Marchesians coasts. – Benthonic sea weeds of the Marchesians coasts are continuously degrading and regressing as a consequence of sea water turbidity caused by the suspended sediments. In the latest years the sediment transported by the rivers flowing north the Ancona coast (Esino, Misa, Cesarco, etc.) is greatly increased. South the Ancona promontory the streams deposit the sediment on sea soundings, covering all sorts of benthonic life with a thick layer screening light penetration.

Planctonic algae seem to be less interested by these conditions. Indeed they are mostly seasonal species which for their short term life and for the possibility of stratifying at more suitable sea levels suffer less the effects of environment degradation.  相似文献

PARTIAL PURIFICATION OF DPN-KINASE FROM PEA LEAVES. — The presence of DPN-kinase has been demonstrated in pea leaves. The enzyme has been purified about 100 fold from this material. The possible significance of DPN-kinase and TPN-phosphatase (FORTI et Al., 1962) in the interconversion of pyridine nucleotides is discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

The results of a bio-climatic study regarding the Sicilian territory is given. On the basis of thermometric and pluviometric data, some indexes proposed by Rivas-Martinez have been produced for 61 localities of the island. In particular, the indexes utilized for the bio-climatic classification are the following: It (index of thermicity), Iov (ombro-thermic index) and Iovc (compensated ombro-thermic index). Besides, for the individuation and delimitation of the bio-climatic belts and relative thermo-types and ombro-types other data, as average annual temperatures, average annual precipitation, geomorphology and relative climax vegetation, have been considered. On the whole, the bio-climatic belts occurring in Sicily are: inframediterranean, thermomediterranean, mesomediterranean, supramediterranean, oromediterranean and crioromediterranean. The correlations between the vegetation and bio-climate are examined too.  相似文献

Abstract

Agro-sylvicultural aspects of Lucania. In the Basilicata Region one can find many types of natural habitats from the mediterranean « macchia » to the rocky peaks of Monte Pollino. Natural environmental factors greatly condition land utilization and sub-spontaneous plant formations such as forests, opens scrubs, and grazing lands, occupy 49% of the productive land (53% in the Province of Potenza alone): this is a high figure as compared to the one for the whole of southern Italy (37.5%). Forested land is 18% of the total and also this value is higher than the corresponding one for the whole of southern Italy (14.4%). Cereals are the main crops: the economy of Basilicata is therefore mainly based on pastoral-cereals growing activities.

The regional flora is very interesting including as it does several relict and endemic species. The most precious jewel for nature lovers is the over 6000 feet high, richly forested, massif of Pollino where one can find some of the few Italian stands of Pinus leucodermis, and, among the animals, the extremely rare Gypaëtns barbatus, besides what is probably the only Italian autoctonous roe-deer population.

The conservation of so many naturalistic riches does not necessarily clash with the regional economic development.  相似文献

Abstract

The « Pedicularis » of the series « Foliosae » Maxim, in the Italian Flora. – The paper deals with the badly known distribution of Pedicularis foliosa L., P. hoermanniana K. Maly and P. hacquetii Graf (ser. Foliosae Maxim.) both in Europe and in Italy. The illyrian P. hoermanniana occurs also in central Italy, being therefore a typical periadriatic entity. It completely substitutes the two others species in the Italian peninsula.  相似文献
