Le ghiandole calcifere (ghiandole di Morren) di Eisenia foetida. Studio istoe citochimico

Riassunto Sono riferiti alcuni reperti istochimici sulle ghiandole calcifere (ghiandole di Morren) di Eisenia foetida.Col metodo v. Kossa hanno assunto una colorazione nera più o meno intensa, oltre gli sferoliti e i romboedri di CaCO₃ elaborati dalle ghiandole, anche le assise secernenti.Il metodo Gomori per la fosfatasi alcalina rivela nelle lamine sinciziali delie ghiandole una attività fosfatasica di variabile intensità.La reazione PAS (Metodo McManus) e la reazione Gomori alla fucsina-paraldeide risultano positive nel citoplasma delle cellule esofagee, delle cellule delle cripte in continuità col lume esofageo che rappresentano la porzione anteriore delle ghiandole, e a livello delle fibrille interposte tra sincizio ghiandolare e lacune sanguigne. Specialmente la fucsina-paraldeide mette in rilievo anche la presenza di rare fibrille che attraversando le lacune sanguigne — il cui lume è di calibro molto variabile — ne connettono le pareti. Le stesse reazioni sono negative, tranne per qualche raro granulo, nelle assise secernenti.Il metodo Brachet per gli acidi nucleinici mette in evidenza una pironinofilia di vario grado nel citoplasma del sincizio, visibile sopratutto attorno ai nuclei. Anche i nucleoli, talvolta di dimensioni piuttosto cospicue relativamente alle dimensioni del nucleo, hanno pironinofilia più o meno accentuata, che scompare, come quella del citoplasma, dopo trattamento con ribonucleasi.La colorazione con blu di toluidina a p_H diversi o con tempi crescenti di colorazione permette di riconoscere delle granulazioni tenuemente ma nettamente metacromatiche anche a p_H più bassi o con trattamenti più brevi, mentre a livello del citoplasma in genere e nel nucleo, la colorazione metacromatica positiva si ha con le soluzioni a p_H relativamente più elevato o insorge gradualmente prolungando i tempi di colorazione. La metacromasia delle granulazioni è con tutta probabilità riferibile a mucopolisaccaridi acidi legati ai sali di Ca, mentre la colorazione diffusa del citoplasma è dovuta, verosimilmente, agli acidi nucleinici, la cui presenza è messa in rapporto col processo di continuo, cospicuo rinnovamento del sincizio ghiandolare durante il processo di secrezione.E' stato, infine, messo in evidenza, a conferma di osservazioni precedenti (Massal, 1929) la presenza nelle lamine secernenti di numerosissimi condriosomi filamentosi, disposti regolarmente, che conferiscono alle assise ghiandolari una struttura finemente striata.Questi reperti sono confrontati con quelli ottenuti con le stesse tecniche dall'A. sull'epitelio del sacco endolinfatico degli Anuri, anch'esso atto ad elaborare sali di Ca.Si sottolinea infine come ghiandole di Morren e sacco endolinfatico, organi appartenenti ad animali sistematicamente tanto lontani, hanno probabilmente, accanto ad alcune reazioni istochimiche comuni, anche funzioni in parte corrispondenti, in quanto in entrambi i casi l'accumulo di CaCO₃ potrebbe servire come riserva tampone per il mantenimento del p_H normale del sangue.

Cistus clusii Dunal: a note on nomenclature and distribution with special reference to the station of Lesina (Foggia). — The recent finding of Cistus clusii Dunal at Torre del Fortore (Pietramaura) near Lesina (Puglia - Southern Italy), besides confirming its presence in the region, indicates that its diffusion is larger than it was thought. This species is in danger of disappearing because the larger part of the station is included within a lotting area.

The auth. describes the vegetation of the «Murgia S. Elio» mountain (500 m. s. l.), near Altamuta (Bari); the vegetation is open as the cretaceous limestone is often bare, and is composed mainly of therophytic, and suffruticose or chamaephytic plants.     

Sulla cariologia di Gennaria diphylla (Link) Parl. (Coeloglossum diphyllum Fiori)

Abstract

OBSERVATIONS ON THE CARYOLOGY OF GENNARIA DIPHYLLA (LINK) PARL. (COELOGLOSSUM DIPHYLLUM FIORI) — Some caryological characters of Gennaria diphylla (Link) Parl, have been here investigated. Chromosome counts from somatic metaphases show a 34 chromosomes diploid set; the resting nuclei have been classified as half-reticulated with chromocenters (« noyaux semi-reticulé à chromocentres » according to Delay's classification); in prophases we have noticed that chromocenters often appear like prochromosomes. The chromosome number 17 (2n = 34) is new for the Ophrydinae.

The interest of this research lies in the fact that the species here dealt with has been differently classified by various Authors.

The vasopressin precursor in the Brattleboro (di/di) rat

The vasopressin precursor in the rat hypothalamus has been studied, using trypsin to release desglycinamide vasopressin and coupling it to glycinamide (T & G treatment). The resulting amidated nonapeptide was detected and measured with a radioimmunoassay for vasopressin. The "vasopressin" produced in this way had the full immunoreactivity of the authentic peptide but eluted from an hplc column 1 min earlier and appeared to have a larger molecular weight. It was found that T&G treatment generated vasopressin immunoreactivity in extracts of the supraoptic nucleus (SON) of the Brattleboro rat in just the same way as it did in normal animals. Furthermore, this procedure produced vasopressin immunoreactivity in those hplc fractions from Brattleboro SON extracts that corresponded with the elution time of vasopressin precursor. Similar amounts of "vasopressin" could be generated from Brattleboro and normal SONs. These results support the suggestion that the Brattleboro SON synthesizes an aberrant vasopressin precursor which is not processed by the cell.     

Osservazioni Sull'embriologia di Nerine Rosea e di Amaryllis Belladonna (Amaryllidaceae)

Summary

The embryosac development in Nerine rosea Herb. has been found to occur according to the Normal type and indications of an identical development were found for Nerine curvifolia Herb., contrary to the observations of Schlimbach (1924), who reported a Lilium type for this species. Embryosacs of the Normal type also occur in Amaryllis Belladonna, to which a tetrasporic development had been erroneously ascribed by Schlimbach (1924). In Nerine rosea Herb. the formation of the microspores is of the «successive» type; the aploid cromosome number is n=12, in accordance with the describtions of Heitz.

The synthesis and SAR of novel and selective dopamine D(3)-receptor antagonists based on a 3,4-dihydro-1H-quinolin-2-one, a 1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-benzo[b]azepin-2-one, 1H-quinoline-2,4-dione or a 3,4-dihydro-1H-benzo[b]azepine-2,5-dione scaffold are discussed. La Marana di Ciminiera (Foggia)

Summary

A «marana» of the Foggia Plain (Puglie) is a depression where water accumulates from the surrounding higher ground, and, very often, springs from the undersoil where the clay layer curves upwards. The soil is generally saline. It is not tillled but is grazed by herds of water-buffaloes. In the Marana di Ciminiera the auth. has found a mosaic of highly saline soils (with Salicornia fruticosa, Suaeda fruticosa, etc.), subsaline meadows (with Juncus acutus, Althaea officinalis, etc.), and fairly deep bogs, mostly drying up in summer (with Iris Pseudo-Acorus, Typha angustifolia, Phragmites communis, etc.).

A dense stand of Inula Helenium, one of Ligustrum vulgare, Lonicera etrusca, Crataegus Oxyacantha, Thalictrum flavum, Schoenus nigricans, and the general aspect of Lago della Contessa are described. Plants collected in the «marana» are listed.
