A methylene group in the fluorinated carbon backbone of 1H,1H,2H,2H,8H,8H–perfluorododecanol (degradable telomer fluoroalcohol, DTFA) renders the molecule cleavable by microbial degradation into two fluorinated carboxylic acids. Several biodegradation products of DTFA are known, but their rates of conversion and fates in the environment have not been determined. We used liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) to quantitatively investigate DTFA biodegradation by the microbial community in activated sludge in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) flasks, which we also determined here showed least adsorption of DTFA. A reduction in DTFA concentration in the medium was accompanied by rapid increases in the concentrations of 2H,2H,8H,8H–perfluorododecanoic acid (2H,2H,8H,8H–PFDoA), 2H,8H,8H-2-perfluorododecenoic acid (2H,8H,8H-2-PFUDoA), and 2H,2H,8H-7-perfluorododecenoic acid and 2H,2H,8H-8-perfluorododecenoic acid (2H,2H,8H-7-PFUDoA/2H,2H,8H-8-PFUDoA), which were in turn followed by an increase in 6H,6H–perfluorodecanoic acid (6H,6H–PFDeA) concentration, and decreases in 2H,2H,8H,8H–PFDoA, 2H,8H,8H-2-PFUDoA, and 2H,2H,8H-7-PFUDoA/2H,2H,8H-8-PFUDoA concentrations. Accumulation of perfluorobutanoic acid (PFBA), a presumed end product of DTFA degradation, was also detected. Our quantitative and time-course study of the concentrations of these compounds reveals main routes of DTFA biodegradation, and the presence of new biodegradation pathways.

Desmids from 12 freshwater resources in the northern part of Thailand were investigated during 2002 to 2003. A total of 91 taxa were found. They belonged to 17 genera: Actinotaenium, Spirotaenia, Netrium, Gonatozygon, Pleurotaenium, Closterium, Euastrum, Micrasterias, Cosmarium, Cosmocladium, Stuarastrum, Staurodesmus, Xanthidium, Teilingia, Spondylosium, Hyalotheca and Desmidium. The water qualities in all the water resources were classified as oligotrophic to meso-eutrophic by trophic status. The taxa that could possibly be used as bioindicators of trophic state were Staurastrum gutwinskii, Spondylosium pandurifoemae, Cosmarium capitulum, C. mediosrobiculatum var. egranutum, S. tortum, Closterium gracile var. elongatum, C. kuetzingii and Closterium dianae var. dianae. The most frequently found taxa were Staurastrum limneticum var. burmense, S. tetracerum var. tetraerum, Pleurotaenium trabecula, Closterium ehrenbergii var. ehrenbergii and C. kuetzingii. The rare taxa in this study were Actinotaenium sp. Spirotaenia condensata, Pleurotaenium burmense var. dacchense and Micrasterias apiculata. Length–weight relationships were estimated for 22 species of the Mar Menor coastal lagoon (south‐eastern Spain): Lipophrys dalmatinus, Salaria pavo, Callionymus pusillus, Aphanius iberus, Engraulis encrasicolus, Gobius cobitis, G. niger, G. paganellus, Pomatoschistus marmoratus, Symphodus cinereus, Chelon labrosus, Liza aurata, L. ramado, L. saliens, Mugil cephalus, Diplodus puntazzo, D. sargus sargus, Lithognathus mormyrus, Sarpa salpa, Sparus aurata, Hippocampus guttulatus and Syngnathus abaster. The captures were made in shallow areas of the lagoon during 2002–2004. Significant length–weight relationships were found for all species.  相似文献

Microsatellite DNA loci have emerged as the dominant genetic tool for addressing questions associated with genetic diversity in many wildlife species, including crocodilians. Despite their usefulness, their isolation and development can be costly, as well as labour intensive, limiting their wider use in many crocodilian species. In this study, we investigate the cross-species amplification success of 82 existing microsatellites previously isolated for the saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) in 18 non-target crocodilian species; Alligator sinensis, Caiman crocodylus, Caiman latirostris, Caiman yacare, Melanosuchus niger, Paleosuchus palpebrosus, Crocodylus acutus, Mecistops cataphractus, Crocodylus intermedius, Crocodylus johnstoni, Crocodylus mindorensis, Crocodylus moreletii, Crocodylus niloticus, Crocodylus novaeguineae, Crocodylus palustis, Crocodylus rhombifer, Crocodylus siamensis, and Osteolaemus tetraspis. Our results show a high level of microsatellites cross-amplification making available polymorphic markers for a range of crocodilian species previously lacking informative genetic markers.  相似文献

Three-hundred twenty five droppings from parrots raised in the premises of 4 breeders and in several private households were cultured for yeasts. One-hundred sixty droppings (49.2%) resulted positive. From these specimens 212 isolates belonging to 27 different species were obtained. Mainly Candida species such as C. albicans, C. catenulata, C. curvata, C. famata, C. glabrata, C. guilliermondi, C. holmii, C. intermedia, C. krusei, C. lambica, C. lusitaniae, C. membranaefaciens, C. parapsilosis, C. pelliculosa, C. sake and C. valida were isolated. Debaryomyces marama, D. polymorphus, Geotrichum sp., Pichia etchelsii, P. ohmeri, Rhodotorula glutinis, R. rubra, Rhodotorula sp., Saccharomyces cerevisiae, S. kluyiveri and Zygosaccharomyces sp. were also obtained. Dark colonies on Staib medium were never observed. The psittacine birds apparently serve as carriers for several Candida species or their perfect states and to a lesser extent for other opportunistic yeasts such as Rhodotorula, Trichosporon and Saccharomyces spp., which are considered part of the transient microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract. The most striking finding was the absence of Cryptococcus spp. among the isolates. The present survey confirms the role of pet birds in carrying potential zoonotic yeasts. Stripe (yellow) rust caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici is the most devastating disease of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) in the cool winter areas. This rust disease represents a constant threat to wheat production in several countries in Central and Western Asia. A wide range of virulent yellow rust pathotypes is evolving in this region causing the breakdown of widely utilised sources of resistance in wheat. Hence, the knowledge of effective resistance genes in the region will enable breeders to target those useful genes in their breeding programmes. From 2006 to 2012, in order to determine of effective resistance genes in Ardabil, north-west of Iran, virulence patterns of wheat yellow rust were studied under the field conditions by planting of differential sets and isogenic lines. The results showed that yellow rust resistance genes Yr1,Yr2+ , Yr3V, Yr3a, Yr4a, Yr4, Yr5, Yr7+ , Yr10, Yr15,Yr16, YrCV, YrSD and YrND were effective and race-nonspecific resistance genes YrA3, YrA4, Yr18 and Yr29 were partially effective during study periods. Genes Yr2, Yr6, Yr7, Yr9, Yr17, Yr20, Yr21,Yr22, Yr23, Yr24, Yr25, Yr26, Yr27, YrSU, YrSP and YrA were found ineffective. The Genes found effective against yellow rust under natural conditions may be deployed singly or in combinations with durable resistance genes to develop high yielding resistant wheat cultivars in wheat-growing areas in where yellow rust races have the same virulence profile to the prevalent race/s of Ardabil.  相似文献

A total of 151 bacterial isolates were recovered from different developmental stages (larvae, nymphs and adults) of field-collected ticks (67 strains from Ixodes ricinus, 38 from Dermacentor reticulatus, 46 from Haemaphysalis concinna). Microorganisms were identified by means of 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Almost 87 % of the strains belonged to G+ bacteria with predominantly occurring genera Bacillus and Paenibacillus. Other G+ strains included Arthrobacter, Corynebacterium, Frigoribacterium, Kocuria, Microbacterium, Micrococcus, Plantibacter, Rhodococcus, Rothia, and Staphylococcus. G strains occurred less frequently, comprising genera Advenella, Pseudomonas, Rahnella, Stenotrophomonas, and Xanthomonas. Several strains of medical importance were found, namely Advenella incenata, Corynebacterium aurimucosum, Microbacterium oxydans, M. schleiferi, Staphylococcus spp., and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Data on cultivable microbial diversity in Eurasian tick species D. reticulatus and H. concinna are given, along with the extension of present knowledge concerning bacterial flora of I. ricinus.  相似文献

MVA和MEP代谢途径是植物类异戊二烯代谢途径的两条重要次生代谢途径。该研究利用荧光定量PCR技术,分析了橡胶树胶乳和橡胶树花药愈伤组织来源的悬浮细胞中MVA代谢途径和MEP代谢途径中关键基因的表达水平,同时分析了茉莉酸的结构类似物冠菌素(coronatine,COR)对悬浮细胞中Hb AACT3,Hb HMGR4,Hb HMGR5,Hb DXS2,Hb DXR和Hb SQS1基因表达的调节作用。结果表明:在MVA代谢途径中,基因Hb AACT1,Hb AACT2,Hb HMGS1,Hb HMGS2,Hb HMGR1,Hb HMGR3,Hb MVK,Hb PMK,Hb MVD1,Hb MVD2和IPP下游代谢基因Hb IPPI1和Hb FDPS1在胶乳中的表达量要相对高于其在悬浮细胞中的表达量,然而橡胶树悬浮细胞中MEP代谢途径基因Hb DXS1,Hb DXS2,Hb DXR,Hb CMS1,Hb CMS2,Hb CMK,Hb MCS1,Hb MCS2,Hb HDS,Hb HDR和鲨烯合酶基因Hb SQS1的表达水平要相对高于胶乳。而且COR能不同程度地上调Hb HMGR5,Hb HMGR4,Hb SQS1,Hb DXS2和Hb DXR基因的表达水平。该研究结果为探索利用橡胶树悬浮细胞体系研究次生代谢合成调控以及生产活性次生代谢产物奠定了基础。  相似文献

Abstract 1 We searched for antifeedant activity in predomonantly non‐host woody plants to find new compounds for seedling protection of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and Norway spruce (Picea abies) against feeding by pine weevil Hylobius abietis. In total, 38 species from 25 families were compared in choice and no‐choice tests. 2 In choice tests with Empetrum, Juniperus, Ledum, Populus, Betula, Evonymus, Sorbus, Salix, Myrica and Pinus, the weevils preferred Pinus to all others. In no‐choice tests with the same species, the insects removed a similar or even greater area of the bark in three of 10 species than Pinus. The results were clearly different between the test modes. 3 In experiment 4, the areas of outer and inner bark (phloem) removed were quantified separately.The weevils removed significantly less of both outer and inner bark in Ilex, Evonymus, Populus, Syringa, Taxus, Tilia, Viburnum, Lonicera and Sorbus than Pinus. 4 Large areas of outer bark were removed in Juglans, Fraxinus, Sambucus, Aesculus, Quercus, Corylus, Fagus, Salix, Alnus and Acer. However, in the latter cases the insects stopped when reaching the inner bark. Thus, certain plant species have the outer bark removed by the insects but possessed an inner bark with antifeedant qualities.  相似文献

To evaluate the sectional classification in Carex, subgenus Carex, the ITS region of 117 species belonging to 32 sections was analyzed with Neighbor Joining (NJ) and Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods. In our analyses (1) species of subgenus Indocarex appear as a statistically well supported group within subgenus Carex. (2) The representatives of sections Vesicariae, Hirtae, Pseudocypereae, Ceratocystis, Spirostachyae, Bicolores, Paniceae, Trachychlaenae, Scirpinae, Atratae and Albae group in statistically supported clades with higher support in MCMC than in NJ. (3) C. rariflora clusters with representatives of section Limosae, however only weakly supported. (4) Taxa of section Phacocystis are divided in two statistically supported subclusters that are closely related to a core group of section Hymenochlaenae. (5) Species of sections Montanae, Pachystylae, Digitatae, Phacocystis, Rhomboidales, Careyanae and Frigidae are segregated into two or more clusters each. (6) Five species of section Frigidae cluster together, whereas the seven others are in scattered positions. Based on these results, delimitation of sections is discussed.  相似文献

中国西藏东南地区位于东喜马拉雅和印缅的交接处,是全球生物多样性的热点地区,尤其是位于该地区的墨脱,由于巨大的海拔高差,使该地区的植被类型呈显著的垂直地带性,且植物种类繁多、植被结构复杂。该文报道了西藏野生兰科植物新记录属3个,即线柱兰属(Zeuxine)、爬兰属(Herpysma)和槽舌兰属(Holcoglossum);新记录种27个,即白肋线柱兰(Zeuxine goodyeroides)、爬兰(Herpysma longicaulis)、小花槽舌兰(Holcoglossum himalaicum)、西南齿唇兰(Anoectochilus elwesii)、窄唇蜘蛛兰(Arachnis labrosa)、短足石豆兰(Bulbophyllum stenobulbon)、尖角卷瓣兰(B. forrestii)、南方虾脊兰(Calanthe lyroglossa)、泰国牛角兰(Ceratostylis siamensis)、金唇兰(Chrysoglossum ornatum)、格力贝母兰(Coelogyne griffithii)、云南贝母兰(C. assamica)、斑舌兰(Cymbidium tigrinum)、梳唇石斛(Dendrobium strongylanthum)、狭叶金石斛((D. angustifolium)、厚唇兰(D. mariae)、粗茎苹兰(Pinalia amica)、垂叶斑叶兰(Goodyera pendula)、绿花斑叶兰(G. viridiflora)、狭叶羊耳蒜(Liparis perpusilla)、小花羊耳蒜(L. platyrachis)、三裂羊耳蒜(L. mannii)、镰叶鸢尾兰(Oberonia falcata)、阔瓣鸢尾兰(O. latipetala)、凹唇石仙桃(Pholidota convallariae)、大苞兰(Sunipia scariosa)、滇南矮柱兰(Thelasis khasiana)。这些植物新资料的发现,对于丰富西藏植物种类以及对该地区物种多样性的保护和研究具有重要意义。  相似文献

In this article, the genotypes for Vibrio alginolyticus were analyzed based on collagenase gene by PCR-single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) method and their relationship to the virulence for marine fish were studied by a bacteria challenging experiment. Results showed total 13 genotypes designated as A1, A2, A3, A4, B, C, D, E, F, G1, G2, H, and I were identified. Among them, isolates from type A1 were dominant in abundance (48.1%) and the isolates from Nanyou had the highest polymorphisms, in which 11 genotypes were identified from 25 isolates. Moreover, the bacteria challenging experiment showed the virulence of V. alginolyticus was correlated to that of the collagenase-SSCP type (r = 0.438, P < 0.01), which demonstrated the strains from type A1, A2, A3, B, C, F, G1, and I were low-virulent isolates, while those from type A4, D, E, G2, and H were high virulence. These data will provide a new understanding of the relationship between virulence of V. alginolyticus and its molecular marker.  相似文献

Hybridization with cDNA arrays was used to obtain expression profiles of 263 protein-tyrosine kinase (PTK), protein-tyrosine phosphatase (PTP), dual-specific phosphatase (DuSP), and other genes for the normal prostate tissue, primary prostate carcinomas (PC) of 84 patients, 7 xenografts, and 5 carcinoma cell lines. Analysis of 96 profiles revealed eight clusters of genes coexpressed in PC (coefficient of correlation r > 0.7). According to the known functions of their genes, the clusters were designated as proliferating-cell (CDC42, TOP2A, FGFR3, MYC, etc.), neoangiogenesis and blood-cell (LCK, VAV1, KDR, VEGF, MMP9, SYK, PTPRS, and FLT4), invasion-1 and invasion-2 (ADAM17, TRPM2, DUSP6, VIM, CAV1, CAV2, JAK1, PTPNS1, FYN, and PDGFB), HER2, and PSA/PSM/HER3. Basing on expression profiles of 66 genes, a molecular classification of PC was generated and allowed discrimination between PC and cell lines or xenografts at 98.9% probability. The results suggested that, along with PSA, PSM (FOLH1), callicreine-2, and -2-macroglobulin, cell signaling genes EGFR, HER2, HER3, TOP2, KRT8, KRT18, VEGF, CD44, VIM, CAV1, and CAV2 may serve as diagnostic and prognostic markers in PC. The HER2, VEGF, and CD44 genes and the MMP and ADAM families were assumed to be promising targets for inhibitors of PC cell proliferation and metastasis.  相似文献

Diverse endophytes with multiple functions exist in different banana cultivars. However, the diversity of cultivable bacterial endophytome that contributes to antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense (Foc) in resistant and susceptible banana cultivars is mostly unknown. In the present study, we isolated bacterial endophytes from resistant Yengambi KM5 (AAA) and susceptible banana cultivar Ney Poovan (AB) to determine the diversity of cultivable bacterial endophytes. Our study revealed the presence of 56 cultivable bacterial endophytes and 6 nectar-associated bacteria in YKM5 and 31 cultivable bacterial endophytes in Ney Poovan. The identified cultivable bacterial genera in YKM5 included Alcaligenes, Arthrobacter, Azotobacter, Acinetobacter, Agrobacterium, Bacillus, Brucella, Brevundimonas, Brachybacterium, Beijerinckia, Klebsiella, Leclercia, Lysinibacillus, Myroides, Ochrobactrum, Pseudomonas, Rhizobium, Stenotrophomonas, Serratia, and Verticiella. In Ney Poovan, the cultivable endophytic bacterial genera present were Agrobacterium, Bacillus, Bradyrhizobium, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Lysinibacillus, Micrococcus, Ochrobactrum, Pseudomonas, Rhizobium, and Sphingobium. Thus, the composition and diversity of cultivable endophytic bacterial genera were higher in Foc-resistant YKM5. The antifungal efficacy of bacterial endophytes Brachybacterium paraconglomeratum YEBPT2 (65.5%), Brucella melitensis YEBPS3 (63.3%), Bacillus velezensis YEBBR6 (63.3%), and nectar-associated Bacillus albus YEBN2 (61.1%) from YKM5 showed the highest antifungal activity against Foc, compared with the antifungal activity of endophytes from the susceptible cultivar.  相似文献

The world's argasid tick fauna comprises 183 species in four genera, namely Argas, Carios, Ornithodoros and Otobius in the family Argasidae. The ixodid tick fauna consists of 241 species in the genus Ixodes and 442 species in the genera Amblyomma, Anomalohimalaya, Bothriocroton, Cosmiomma, Dermacentor, Haemaphysalis, Hyalomma, Margaropus, Nosomma, Rhipicentor and Rhipicephalus in the family Ixodidae, with the genus Boophilus becoming a subgenus of the genus Rhipicephalus. The family Nuttalliellidae is represented by the monospecific genus Nuttalliella. The species names of these ticks, based on seven previous complete or partial listings, as well as those of recently described new species, are presented in tabular format. To investigate the diversity of culturable actinobacteria and further screen for microbial pharmaceutics, seven different media were chosen to isolate actinobacteria from 87 soil samples collected from Qinghai–Tibet plateau. A total of 1930 strains was isolated and identified to belong to 11 suborders, i.e., Actinopolysporineae, Corynebacterineae, Frankineae, Glycomycineae, Kineosporiineae, Micrococcineae, Micromonosporineae, Propionibacterineae, Pseudonocardineae, Streptomycineae and Streptosporangineae, and 16 families, i.e., Nocardioidaceae, Actinopolysporaceae, Actinosynnemataceae, Dermacoccaceae, Geodermatophilaceae, Glycomycetaceae, Kineosporiaceae, Microbacteriaceae, Micromonosporaceae, Nocardiaceae, Promicromonosporaceae, Propionibacteriaceae, Pseudonocardiaceae, Streptomycetaceae, Streptosporangiaceae and Thermomonosporaceae. A primary taxonomic study showed that at least 22 genera of actinobacteria were identified from the soil samples, among which ten isolates represented hitherto unknown species. The results showed that there was abundant actinobacterial species diversity in the soil samples from the Qinghai–Tibet plateau.  相似文献

During ongoing taxonomic studies in Citharexylum (Verbenaceae), sixteen names were found in need of typification or typification remarks. As a result, six names (C. brachyanthum, C. danirae, C. flabellifolium, C. lucidum, C. rugendasii and C. tristachyum f. urbanii) are here lectotypified. Furthermore, remarks on implicit typifications by Harold Moldenke for another ten names (C. altamiranum, C. berlandieri, C. hexangulare, C. macradenium, C. ovatifolium, C. pauciflorum, C. pterocladum, C. recurvatum, C. schulzii and C. stenophyllum) are provided.  相似文献

The palynological characterisation of 157 honey samples from three northwest regions of Argentina (Prepuna, Yungas and Chaco) are presented to determine their botanical origin and species associations to be able to define their geographic origin. Samples were harvested during 2003–2011 and processed by means of melissopalynological conventional techniques. One-hundred and nine pollen types were identified. Representative pollen types with a frequency of occurrence greater than 50% in descending order of importance are: Salix humboldtiana, Allophylus edulis, Baccharis, Solanaceae, Eucalyptus, Schinus, Brassicaceae, Papilionoideae, Celtis, Scutia/Condalia-type and Parapiptadenia excelsa. The most important monofloral honeys are from the following: Salix humboldtiana, Scutia/Condalia-type, Allophylus edulis, Baccharis, Blepharocalyx salicifolius, Gleditsia amorphoides, Myrtaceae, Sicyos, Ziziphus mistol, Schinopsis-type, Agonandra excelsa, Anadenathera colubrina, Mimosa, all of them native species, and among introduced species are Eucalyptus, Citrus and Tithonia. Three apicultural zones and their corresponding pollen association indicators were determined: Zone I, Prepuna: Arquita trichocarpa, Prosopis ferox, Schinus areira, Baccharis, Buddleja and Mutisieae; Zone II, Yungas: Myrtaceae, Parapiptadenia excelsa, Baccharis, Salix humboldtiana, Allophylus edulis, Scutia/Condalia-type and Zanthoxylum coco; Zone III, transitional area Yungas-Chaco: Prosopis, Salix humboldtiana, Schinus, Anadenanthera colubrina and Allophylus edulis.  相似文献
