目的:本文针对表面肌电(sEMG)信号探讨动作电位传导速度(APCV)估计问题。方法:以生理学仿真sEMG信号为基础,采用基于互相关分析的时延估计技术来获取相应的APCV估计值,并利用重采样技术来提高估计的精度。结果:实验表明。针对重采样后的仿真信号,其APCV的估计误差得到了明显降低。结论:所采用方法能够有效获取满意的APCV估计效果。  相似文献

In this article I seek to establish what, if anything, might be morally troubling about morally enhancing oneself through biomedical means. Building on arguments by Harris, while simultaneously acknowledging several valid counter‐arguments that have been put forth by his critics, I argue that taking BMEs necessarily incurs at least one moral cost in the restrictions they impose on our freedom. This does not necessarily entail that the use of BMEs cannot be overall justified, nor that, in certain cases, their costs may not be forestalled. It does show, however, that their use is not morally neutral. There is a cost to such technologies and, as such, the onus will always be on their defenders to show that these costs can compensated for.  相似文献

This study has sought to analyse how the social and cultural dynamics of the population are expressed in the recent processes of ethnic self-identification in Peru. Data from 2012 to 2016 Peru National Household survey was used to investigate specifically: (a) on the contribution of the questions about ethnic and racial self-identification included in the National Household Survey to the visibility of indigenous and Afro-Peruvian populations; (b) on the individual and local characteristics related with certain self-identification categories; and (c) if the self-identification patterns have remained stable or have varied during the survey period. Results show that the number of persons who identifies as indigenous varies according to the question used. Likewise, it was found that characteristics such as age, migratory experience, education, and income level influence on the self-identification. Finally, modest but significant changes over time were registered, which could be shedding light on some processes of social transformations.  相似文献

Being En Route     
Through an ethnography of unauthorized migration from El Salvador to the United States, I explore "clandestinity" as a hidden, yet known, dimension of social reality. Unauthorized migrants who are en route to the United States have to make themselves absent from the spaces they occupy. When they become clandestine, such migrants embody illegality; in some cases, they literally "go underground" should they die and be buried en route. Because their presence is prohibited, unauthorized migrants do not fully arrive even when they reach their destinations. There are parallels between the ways that migrants are present in yet absent from nations, and the ways that ethnographers are present in yet absent from the field. This ethnography of migrants en route therefore suggests how anthropological knowledge practices also produce realities that are hidden, yet known.  相似文献

Membrane potential measurements using voltage-sensitive dyes (VSDs) have made important contributions to our understanding of electrophysiological properties of multi-cellular systems. Here, we report the development of long wavelength VSDs designed to record cardiac action potentials (APs) from deeper layers in the heart. The emission spectrum of styryl VSDs was red-shifted by incorporating a thienyl group in the polymethine bridge to lengthen and retain the rigidity of the chromophore. Seven dyes, Pittsburgh I to IV and VI to VIII (PGH I-VIII) were synthesized and characterized with respect to their spectral properties in organic solvents and heart muscles. PGH VSDs exhibited 2 absorption, 2 excitation and 2 voltage-sensitive emission peaks, with large Stokes shifts (> 100 nm). Hearts (rabbit, guinea pig and Rana pipiens) and neurohypophyses (CD-1 mice) were effectively stained by injecting a bolus (10–50 μl) of stock solution of VSD (2–5 mM) dissolved in in dimethylsulfoxide plus low molecular weight Pluronic (16% of L64). Other preparations were better stained with a bolus of VSD (2–5 mM) Tyrode’s solution at pH 6.0. Action spectra measured with a fast CCD camera showed that PGH I exhibited an increase in fractional fluorescence, ΔF/F = 17.5 % per AP at 720 nm with 550 nm excitation and ΔF/F = − 6% per AP at 830 nm with 670 nm excitation. In frog hearts, PGH1 was stable with ∼30% decrease in fluorescence and AP amplitude during 3 h of intermittent excitation or 1 h of continuous high intensity excitation (300 W Xe-Hg Arc lamp), which was attributed to a combination of dye wash out > photobleaching > dynamic damage > run down of the preparation. The long wavelengths, large Stokes shifts, high ΔF/F and low baseline fluorescence make PGH dyes a valuable tool in optical mapping and for simultaneous mapping of APs and intracellular Ca2+.  相似文献

The yeast Meyerozyma caribbica was evaluated for their effectiveness against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides in the mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. “Ataulfo” and to identify the possible mechanisms of action involved in the inhibition. M. caribbica showed a high antagonistic potential in vivo, with significant inhibition of 86.7% of anthracnose. M. caribbica competed for the nutrients sucrose and fructose (p < 0.05). Electron microscopy showed that the yeast produces a biofilm adhering to the fruit and to C. gloeosporioides hyphae. M. caribbica showed competition for space and parasitism to the phytopathogen, furthermore it produces hydrolytic enzymes such as chitinase, N-acetyl-β-d-glucosaminidase and β-1, 3-glucanase. These enzymes caused notched and non-lethal deformations on the fungal hyphae through this specific action mechanism. According to the results obtained here, the combination of the different action mechanisms of the yeast increases their ability to control C. gloeosporioides. The use of biological agents to control C. gloeosporioides may contribute to the integrated management of disease caused by this pathogen.  相似文献

Pigment mutant C-2A' of Scenedesmus obliquus accumulates only traces of chlorophyll, when grown heterotrophically in the dark. Immediately upon transfer of cells into fresh medium protochlorophyllide and protochlorophyll are formed, which accumulate to their maximum concentrations within 8 to 12 h. Subsequently, this protochlorophyll(ide) is degraded in the dark, but not transformed into chlorophyll. After 6–8 days of dark growth no protochlorophyll(ide) can be detected any more. The protochlorophyll(ide) pool of cultures, which contain reduced concentrations, can be reestablished either by addition of glucose or illumination with blue light; both increase the rate of respiration.
By low temperature spectroscopy in vivo and by absorption and fluorescence emission spectroscopy of pigment extracts it is shown that the protochlorophyllide accumulated in freshly inoculated cultures can be converted to chlorophyll in light.
From the action spectrum for chlorophyll formation after addition of glucose it can be seen that protochlorophyllide 636 and 649 are present and are photoconvertible in this mutant.  相似文献

灵长类动作理解(understanding of actions)的神经机制是认知神经科学研究的重要内容,它的阐明对于揭示灵长类特有的一些高级认知行为的本质和过程具有重要意义。就灵长类动物而言,个体对其同类做出动作的识别以及理解是其一切社会行为的基础,但是迄今为止我们对其动作理解的神经机制还知之甚少。随着镜像神经元成为近年来国外认知神经科学与认知人类学研究的热点,人们通过神经生理学和脑成像等技术,陆续发现和证明了其在灵长类动作理解过程中的重要作用。本文综述了近年来关于灵长类动作理解的镜像神经机制的研究成果,介绍了镜像神经元在灵长类动作理解过程中的一些新认识及其在该能力进化和发育等方面的作用,并对当前一些实验中遗留的问题与灵长类动作理解领域的未来研究方向作了反思与展望。  相似文献

Bright body colorations of orb-weaving spiders have been hypothesizedto be attractive to insects and thus function to increase foragingsuccess. However, the color signals of these spiders are alsoconsidered to be similar to those of the vegetation background,and thus the colorations function to camouflage the spiders.In this study, we evaluated these 2 hypotheses by field experimentsand by quantifying the spiders' visibility to insects. We firstcompared the insect interception rates of orbs constructed bythe orchid spider, Leucauge magnifica, with and without thespider. Orbs with spiders intercepted significantly more insectsthan orbs without. Such a result supported the prey attractionbut not the camouflaging hypothesis. We then tested whetherbright body colorations were responsible for L. magnifica'sattractiveness to insects by manipulating the spiders' colorsignals with paint. Alteration of color signals significantlyreduced L. magnifica's insect interception and consumption rates,indicating that these spiders' bright body parts were attractiveto insects. Congruent with the finding of field manipulationswere the color contrasts of various body parts of these spiders.When viewed against the vegetation background, the green bodyparts were lower, but the bright parts were significantly higherthan the discrimination threshold. Results of this study thusprovide direct evidence that bright body colorations of orbweavers function as visual lures to attract insects.  相似文献

The constant magnetic field (1000–7120 gauss) was applied to previously stimulated frog sciatic nerve. The following was observed : a) There is no instantaneous effect of either parallel or perpendicular magnetic field on compound action potential amplitude. b) Parallel magnetic field of 1000–7120 gauss does not change the amplitude of compound action potential significantly with time. c) When perpendicular magnetic field was applied to the nerve, an increase in the amplitude of compound action potential was observed, which can mean that the nerve exhibits some sort of magnetic anisotropy.  相似文献

Male ornaments are predicted to be a signal of the genetic quality of a male but often the relationship between ornaments and the physiological performances of males is unclear. Males of Metichnogaster cillipennis, a hover-wasp, during their courtship flights send luminous signals to females by using two abdominal reflectors. Malpighian tubules, an essential organ in the physiology of insects, participate in the building of the larger of these reflectors but at a physiological cost. By evaluating the capacity of light reflection from males during their courtship, females can assess directly the physiological quality of males.  相似文献

The distributions of bird species have changed over the past 50 years in China. To evaluate whether the changes can be attributed to the changing climate, we analyzed the distributions of 20 subspecies of resident birds in relation to climate change. Long‐term records of bird distributions, gray relational analysis, fuzzy‐set classification techniques, and attribution methods were used. Among the 20 subspecies of resident birds, the northern limits of over half of the subspecies have shifted northward since the 1960s, and most changes have been related to the thermal index. Driven by climate change over the past 50 years, the suitable range and latitude or longitude of the distribution centers of certain birds have exhibited increased fluctuations. The northern boundaries of over half of the subspecies have shifted northward compared with those in the 1960s. The consistency between the observed and predicted changes in the range limits was quite high for some subspecies. The changes in the northern boundaries or the latitudes of the centers of distribution of nearly half of the subspecies can be attributed to climate change. The results suggest that climate change has affected the distributions of particular birds. The method used to attribute changes in bird distributions to climate change may also be effective for other animals.  相似文献

Summary

The detrimental effects of conifer plantations on open ground habitats have been well catalogued and discussed, but the potential contribution of planted forests to the conservation of woodland biodiversity has not been quantified to the same extent. This quantification is needed urgently to help forest managers fulfil commitments to biodiversity enhancement as outlined in the UK Biodiversity Action Plan, the UK Forestry Standard and the UK Woodland Assurance Scheme (UKWAS). Results are presented from a five-year programme of research aimed at obtaining baseline information on biodiversity in planted forests and evaluating the contribution of planted forests to the conservation of native flora and fauna. Fifty-two plots were surveyed in total, covering a range of different tree crops (Scots pine Pinus sylvestris L., Sitka spruce Picea sitchensis (Bong.) Carr., Norway spruce Picea abies L. and Corsican pine Pinus nigra var maritima (Aitón) Melville) and stand ages (pre-thicket, mid-rotation, mature and over-mature) in three contrasting bioclimatic zones (upland, foothills and lowlands) throughout Britain. Additional plots were established in semi-natural woodland to allow comparisons between the biodiversity of plantations and native stands. Over 2000 species were recorded in total, including 45 Red Data Book species. Planted stands had similar or richer fungal and invertebrate communities to those of the native stands but poorer lichen and vascular plant communities. The latter were strongly affected by shading, dense, mid-rotation Sitka spruce stands having the lowest species counts. In contrast, these stands had a high diversity of mycorrhizal fungi, including a number of rare and threatened species normally associated with native pine wood. Bryophyte species-richness was related more to climate than woodland type, with the wetter upland spruce and native oak stands having the most diverse communities. Compared to the younger planted stands, over-mature planted stands had a higher proportion of species characteristic of semi-natural woodland stands. This related to greater structural diversity and higher deadwood volumes in the over-mature stands. It is concluded that conifer plantations make a positive contribution to biodiversity conservation in the UK and hence to the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. No single stand or crop type provides ‘optimal’ conditions for biodiversity, but the habitat value of plantations could be enhanced by increasing the area managed under alternative systems to clear-felling, such as ‘continuous cover’ and/or non-intervention natural reserves.  相似文献

Light-induced absorbance changes were investigated in vivo in the fungus Verticillium agaricinum (Link) Corda. There was a broad light-induced absorbance decrease in the blue and near UV with a maximum at 384 nm. An action spectrum indicated that the absorbance changes were due to photo-bleaching of a pigment with an absorption spectrum that was similar to the action spectrum. Neither redox reactions nor energy metabolism were involved in the photo-bleaching process. A direct comparison of action spectra for light-induced absorbance changes and photo-induction of carotenogenesis suggests that the photo-bleaching may not be related to photo-induction of carotenogenesis.  相似文献

Differences in amylase action pattern on amylopectin were demonstrated by the relation between the decrease in potassium iodide-iodine binding of waxy maize starch and the increase in reducing value during hydrolysis, as expressed by the RV80 value (i.e., the reducing value for a potassium iodide-iodine binding value of 80% of that of the starting material). In the initial stages of the hydrolysis, the ratio of the increase in the level of reducing polysaccharides to the increase in the total level of reducing sugars formed during amylolysis of amylopectin can be considered as a measure of the level of inner chain attack (LICA) in the overall hydrolysis of the amylopectin structure and correlated with the respective RV80 value. Bacillus amyloliquefaciens α-amylase and Aspergillus oryzae α-amylase, with the lowest RV80 and the highest LICA values, hydrolysed the inner chains of amylopectin to a greater extent than did porcine pancreatic α-amylase. In the initial stages of hydrolysis, Bacillus stearothermophilus maltogenic amylase, like the Bacillus cereus β-amylase, did not display any significant degree of internal hydrolysis of amylopectin, in line with the high RV80 and very low LICA values for these enzymes. However, at the later stages of hydrolysis, the maltogenic amylase probably exhibited a significant degree of internal hydrolysis of amylopectin, which itself seems to depend on temperature. The temperature dependence of the hydrolysis pattern of this enzyme is relevant for interpretation of its action as antifirming enzyme in bread-making applications.  相似文献

Human infants’ developing manipulatory transformations involved in classifying objects from ages 6 to 24 months were investigated. Infants’ manipulations develop from predominantly serial one-at-a-time acts with one object to predominantly parallel two-at-a-time acts with two objects. This shift is marked by increasingly overt transformational consequences for the objects manipulated. When infants construct parallel transformations they are initially different. With age they are increasingly identical or reciprocal. Also during this age period, as the number of objects manipulated at the same time increases, so does the frequency with which infants coordinate them. At the same time, the kind of objects infants manipulate simultaneously changes. Six-month-olds manipulate different objects when acting on more than one object at a time. By age 12 months, infants switch to manipulating identical objects at the same time, indicating that they are beginning to construct identity classes. Since this development occurs about a half year before human infants develop any substantial naming behavior, the origins of classification cannot depend on this linguistic development  相似文献

The characteristics of the potential changes caused by excitation of the thallus of Conocephalum conicum L. were investigated and compared with the basic criteria of an action potential. Electrical stimulation (square DC pulses) was applied, and extraand intracellular potentials were recorded. The all-or-nothing law, strength-duration relation, refractory periods, and general characteristics of the changes of transmembrane potential difference were examined. The electrical phenomena occurring during the excitation of Conocephalum fulfil the basic criteria of an action potential. The results contribute additional evidence for the hypothesis that action potentials occur both in plants and in animals.  相似文献
