The genus Morinda (Morindeae, Rubioideae, Rubiaceae) is closely allied to Coe-lospermum, Gynochthodes , and Pogonolobus , but differs from these genera in inflorescence and pollen morphology. In this revision of Morinda in New Caledonia fourteen species are recognized, one of which is subdivided into four varieties. Eleven species are endemic to the area. Two new species, M. montana and M. truneata , and one new variety, M. myrtifolia var. vrevifolia , are described. Two recombinations, M. myrtifolia var. choriophylla and M. myrtifolia var. velutina , are made. All taxa are illustrated with line drawings and their distributions mapped, and a key to the species is presented. Phylogenetic analyses including nineteen species are presented.  相似文献

Five new species, two new varieties and three newly reported taxa belonging to the Meliolaceae were collected in fragments of Atlantic forest from Minas Gerais, Brazil, in association with native plants and are described and illustrated herein. The newly described species are Appendiculella eupatorii, Meliola cassiae-ferrugineae, M. mutisiae, M. peruiferae, M. vernaliae. The new varieties are M. garugae var. protii and M. paullinifolii var. rubiginosae. These taxa are reported in Brazil for the first time: Asteridiella cyclopoda, A. entebbeensis var. codiaei and Meliola pazschkeana var. macropoda. We studied other species belonging in Meliolaceae collected on hosts belonging to the Asteraceae, Burseraceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae (Caesalpinioideae and Papilionoideae) and Sapindaceae in Brazil.  相似文献

Aim Morinda citrifolia L., commercially known as noni or the Indian mulberry plant, is morphologically variable and the only widely distributed member of the pantropical genus Morinda sensu stricto (Rubiaceae). This large distribution has been attributed partly to the ability of the seeds of the large‐fruited M. citrifolia L. var. citrifolia L. to be transported by oceanic drifting. This form of M. citrifolia var. citrifolia has been predicted to be the progenitor colonizer of the island endemic Morinda species. Using a phylogenetic approach and large sampling of the widespread, large‐fruited M. citrifolia var. citrifolia, we assessed the potential area of origin of M. citrifolia and tested the hypothesis that the large‐fruited M. citrifolia var. citrifolia is an ancestral colonizer. Location Tropics. Methods We performed Bayesian analyses of 22 species of the tribe Morindeae (including 11 individuals of the three currently recognized varieties of M. citrifolia) based on combined nrETS, nrITS, rps16 and trnT–F sequence data. Geographic origins of the studied taxa were mapped onto the Bayesian majority rule consensus tree. Results Nine sequenced individuals of M. citrifolia from diverse geographic locations formed a highly supported clade, which was sister to the Australo‐Micronesian clade that included M. bracteata var. celebica and M. latibracteata. These sister clades are part of the broader Asian, arborescent Morinda clade. We found no support for the current varietal classification of M. citrifolia. Main conclusions Our analyses suggest a Micronesian origin of M. citrifolia. This implies that the large‐fruited M. citrifolia var. citrifolia might well have been present in the Pacific before the arrival of the Micronesian and Polynesian ancestors from Southeast Asia. The wide distribution of this form of M. citrifolia var. citrifolia is attributed partly to the trans‐oceanic dispersal of its buoyant seeds, self‐pollination and its ability to produce flowers and fruits year‐round. The hypothesis that the widespread, large‐fruited M. citrifolia var. citrifolia is the progenitor colonizer of the island endemic Morinda species is inconsistent with its derived position within the Asian, arborescent Morinda clade and with the fact that the nine sampled individuals of M. citrifolia form a clade.  相似文献

This is the first publication describing scale-bearing Chrysophyceae from India by means of electron microscopy. Twenty seven such taxa are described from samples for ponds, rivers and thermal springs. Twenty of these are Mallomonas spp.: M. akrokomos, M. bronchartiana, M. caudata, M. ceylanica, M. costata, M. crassisquanta, M. cyathellata var. cyathellata, M. cyathellata var. chilensis, M. cyathellata var. kenyana, M. guttata, M. heterospina, M. mangofera f. mangofera, M. mangofera f. foveata, M. mangoferea I. reticulata, M. matvienkoae I. matvienkoae, M. mat-vienkoae var. grandis, M. morrisonensis, M. peronoides, M. portae-ferreae , and M. tasmanica . Three are Synura taxa: S. curtispina, S. petersenii f. petersenii , and S. petersenii I. kufferathii . Two are Spiniferomonas species: S. coronacircumspina and S. enigmata. Paraphysomonas and Chrysosphaerella were each represented by one species: P. vestita and C. longispina . The water bodies from which these samples were taken were mostly eutrophic and nutrient rich. The majority of the taxa were obtained during the summer months when water temperatures were high. This contradicts the widely held belief that silica-scaled chrysophytes are mainly found in cold oligotrophic and mesotrophic waters. Mallomonas portae-ferreae and one unidentified species of Mallomonas were recorded also from thermal springs having water temperatures up to 50°C.  相似文献

The present paper deals with the genus Paeonia in Xinjiang, whose taxonomy has been confused. Based on the field observation, population sampling and the examination of herbarium specimens, a taxonomical revision is made in this paper. Two species are recognized, i. e. Paeonia anomala L. and P. sinjiangensis K. Y. Pan. P. altaica K. M. Dai et T. H. Ying is reduced to P. sinjiangensis and P. hybrida (= P. anomala var. intermedia) is reduced to P. anomala. The diagnostic characters of the two species are described and illustrated, and a map of their distribution in Xinjiang is presented. A key to these two species is provided here. 1. Rojas. Cyathea alfonsiana L. D. Gómez, C. holdridgeana Nisman & L. D. Gómez, C. onusta H. Christ and C. squarrosa (Rosenst.) Domin are recognized; Cnemidaria coclena Stolze, Cyathea andina (H. The diatom family Rhaphoneidaceae is characterized by high generic diversity and low species diversity with most genera known to have long stratigraphic ranges. The genera within this family are neritic marine, and mostly epipsammic. A new modern and epipsammic genus, Meloneis gen. nov., is described herein and is compared to all genera within Rhaphoneidaceae and especially to Rhaphoneis Ehrenberg s.l. Within Meloneis three new species and one variety are distinguished and described herein: M. mimallis sp. nov., M. mimallis var. zephyria var. nov., M. akytos sp. nov., and M. gorgis sp. nov.  相似文献

Abstract

The Fissidens flora of Singapore has been investigated and shown to consist of 16 species, including one new species, F. pseudoceylonensis . F. crispulus var. robinsonii is proposed as a new combination and two taxa (F. mittenii var. javensis M.Fleisch. and F. ceylonensis ssp. simplex M.Fleisch.) are reduced to synonyms of F. pellucidus Hornsch. and F. ceylonensis Dozy & Molk. respectively. The biodiversity of Singapore's Fissidens flora is compared with that of Peninsular Malaysia and Pulau Tioman and the ecological and conservation implications are discussed.  相似文献
