In the effluents of a biologically treated wastewater from a heavy oil-refining plant, C5-C8 fatty acids including pentanoic acid, hexanoic acid, heptanoic acid, octanoic acid, and 2-methylbutanoic acid are often detected. As these residual fatty acids can cause further air and water pollution, a new Myroides isolate ZB35 from activated sludge was explored to degrade these C5-C8 fatty acids in this study. It was found that the biodegradation process involved a lag phase that became prolonged with increasing acyl chain length when the fatty acids were individually fed to this strain. However, when fed as a mixture, the ones with longer acyl chains were found to become more quickly assimilated. The branched 2-methylbutanoic acid was always the last one to be depleted among the five fatty acids under both conditions. Metabolite analysis revealed one possible origin of short chain fatty acids in the biologically treated wastewater. Aroma volatiles including 2-methylbutyl isovalerate, isoamyl 2-methylbutanoate, isoamyl isovalerate, and 2-methylbutyl 2-methylbutanoate were subsequently identified from ZB35 extracts, linking the source of the fruity odor to these esters excreted by Myroides species. To our best knowledge, this is the first finding of these aroma esters in bacteria. From a biotechnological viewpoint, this study has revealed the potential of Myroides species as a promising source of aroma esters attractive for food and fragrance industries.  相似文献

The esters of n-fatty acids and ω-hydroxy n-fatty acids of β-sitosterol, D-glucose and ferulic acid (trans and cis) as well as β-sitosterol, fatty acids and β-sitosteryl-β-D-glucoside were isolated from three Virola species and identified by optical data and chemical reactions. A novel series of acidic esters derived from C22C29 ω-hydroxy fatty acids and cis- and trans-ferulic acid is reported for the first time. These compounds also occurred as the corresponding diester 1-monoglycerides whereas the ω-hydroxy acids themselves were also present as the corresponding glucosyl esters.  相似文献

The aldehydes acetaldehyde, propanal, 2-methylpropanal, butanal, 3-methylbutanal, pentanal and hexanal, were reduced to their corresponding alcohols by incubation with strawberry fruit. The alcohols formed were then converted to their acetate, propionate, n-butyrate, isovalerate and n-caproate esters during the incubation with strawberry fruit. Simultaneous reaction of isobutyric acid, n-valeric acid and isocaproic acid with aldehyde and strawberry fruit resulted in the formation of esters of these acids. In all seven alcohols and 54 esters were produced by means of incubation of aldehydes and volatile fatty acids with strawberry fruit.  相似文献

Biological availability of 106 esters of alcohols and aliphatic mono-, di- and tri-carboxylic acids and diethylene glycol succinate was compared by the mini-test with chicks. Chicks can utilize methyl esters of saturated fatty acids of carbon chain from 10 to 14, ethyl esters of those from 9 to 12, propyl caprate, n-butyl esters of those from 8 to 12, n-amyl esters of those from 6 to 12, n-hexyl n-butyrate and i-vaterate, and n-octyl and n-decyl acetates. Only 3 dicarboxylates, i.e. di-octyl and di-lauryl succinates and di-methyl cis-cyclopropane-l,2-dicarboxylate, were available among the dicarboxylates tested. Availability of ethyl esters of succinic, fumaric and citric, acid was unexpectedly low.  相似文献

The novel amino acid 2,4-diamino-3-methylbutanoic acid has been identified in nodules formed by two strains of Rhizobium bacteria on Lotus tenuis roots. Retention time measurements on a Chirasil-Val capillary column suggest it is present as the (2R,3S)-enantiomer. Several isomeric diamino acids were synthesized for comparative studies.  相似文献

Novel 2-hydroxynicotinoyl-serine-butyl esters have been synthesized. Three-step reactions from l-serine by esterification with n-butanol, amidation with 2-hydroxynicotinic acid and esterification with the corresponding carboxylic acids gave AD-1, AD-2 and AD-3. The toxicity level of esters were determined by Brine shrimp assay, and antibiotic activity was tested against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. AD-3 showed greater activity as a growth inhibitor of B. subtilis and S. aureus compared to Antimycin A3.  相似文献

A gas-liquid chromatography procedure for analysis of protein amino acids is described. Amino acids are esterified to their n-propyl esters then acylated to their heptafluorobutyryl (HFB) derivatives. These reactions were carried out in a single tube at 100°C. A simple steam-heating apparatus was constructed that heats only the bottom of the reaction vessel. Only 10 min were needed for esterification and 20 min for acylation, respectively. The resulting products, N-HFB-n-propyl esters of amino acids, were chromatographed on a single column. The amino acid compositions of chymotrypsinogen A and casein were analyzed by the present method, and the results were compared with those obtained by ion-exchange chromatography reported previously.  相似文献

Fatty acids were extracted from saponified vegetative cells and myxospores of Myxococcus xanthus and examined as the methyl esters by gas-liquid chromatography. The acids consisted mainly of C14 to C17 species. Branched acids predominated, and iso-pentadecanoic acid constituted half or more of the mixture. The other leading component (11–28%) was found to be 11-n-hexadecenoic acid. Among the unsaturated acids were two diunsaturated ones, an n-hexadecadienoic acid and an iso-heptadecadienoic acid. No significant differences between the fatty acid compositions of the vegetative cells and myxospores could be detected. The fatty acid composition of M. xanthus was found to be markedly similar to that of Stigmatella aurantiaca. It is suggested that a fatty acid pattern consisting of a large proportion of iso-branched C15 and C17 acids and a substantial amount of an n-16:1 acid is characteristic of myxobacteria.  相似文献

The n-hexane soluble non-volatile fraction of the acetone extracts from the flower buds, the flowers and the immature and the mature fruits of Fatsia japonica were all found to contain fatty acids, fatty acid methyl esters, squalene, β-amyrin and sterols. At all the stages between budding to the mature fruit, the major fatty acids were palmitic and linoleic acids and the major phytosterol was stigmasterol. In addition steryl and β-amyrenyl esters were found in the flowers and the immature and the mature fruits, but these esters were not present in the flower buds. Sitosteryl ester was the major constituent of the steryl ester fraction in the fruiting stages. Phytol was found in only the flowering stage and triglycerides in only the mature fruits. The variations in the lipid constituents is discussed in relation to the stages from budding to the mature fruit.  相似文献

Additional volatile compounds were isolated from muskmelon fruit by means of a water recycling apparatus, separated by GLC, and identified principally by MS and GLC retention data. Compounds reported for the first time as melon components are: n-hexanol, 1-octen-3-ol, cis-3-nonen-1-ol, n-butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate, 2-methylbutyl acetate, n-hexyl acetate, ethyl n-butyrate, ethyl 2-methylbutyrate, benzyl acetate, β-phenethyl acetate, and γ-phenylpropyl acetate. Muskmelon fruit stored frozen prior to steam distillation-extraction yielded an essence which, when compared with that obtained from freshly harvested fruit, contained considerably larger amounts of trans-2-nonenal, n-nonanol, cis-3-nonen-1-ol, cis-6-nonen-1-ol, and the methyl and ethyl esters of linoleic and linolenic acids. Marked decreases in the relative amounts of benzyl acetate, β-phenethyl acetate, and γ-phenylpropyl acetate resulted from freezing. All 21 compounds examined were present in the essences prepared from fresh, refrigerated, and frozen fruit.  相似文献

Many lizards use femoral gland secretions in reliable intraspecific communication. Based on mass spectra, obtained by GC–MS, we found 57 lipophilic compounds in femoral secretions of males and females of El Hierro giant lizards, Gallotia simonyi (fam. Lacertidae). Compounds included steroids (mainly cholesterol) and fatty acids ranging between n-C16 and n-C22 (mainly hexadecanoic and octadecanoic acids), followed by aldehydes, alcohols, ketones, squalene and waxy esters. There were important intersexual differences in the presence, abundance and number of compounds (more numerous in males). Males had higher proportions of the most odoriferous compounds (fatty acids and aldehydes), while females had higher proportions of more stable compounds (steroids, waxy alcohols, waxy esters and terpenoids). This suggests sexual differences in function of femoral secretions. In addition, some compounds could reflect the physiological state, allowing monitoring health of lizards from secretions samples, which is especially important given the critical conservation status of this lizard.  相似文献

Epicuticular wax isolated from the cotyledons and primary needles of 10-week-old Pinus radiata seedlings is similar in composition and contains 86% neutral compounds, viz. alkyl esters (25%, C24–C64), nonacosan-10-ol (52%), heptacosane-5,10-diol (2%), nonacosane-4,10-diol, nonacosane-5,10-diol, and nonacosane-10,13-diol (total 12%) and estolides, MW ca 800 (2%), MW ca 1100 (6%), and MW ca 1500 (1%). The acidic fraction (14%) contains n-acids (78%, C12–C32) and diterpene acids (22%, mainly abieta-8,11,13-trien-18-oic, with lesser amounts of pimara-8(14),15-dien-18-oic, isopimara-7,15-dien-18-oic and hydroxylated aromatic, diene and mono-ene acids). Wax isolated from primary needles of 1-yr-old seedlings had a similar neutral fraction composition, but the acidic fraction contained predominantly the diterpene acid mixture, with only trace amounts of n-acids. The wax from 1-yr-old secondary, needles from P. radiata forest trees aged 5 yr and 40 yr contained an acid fraction (12% 5 yr, 17% 40 yr trees) comprising the diterpene acid mixture, with trace amounts of n-acids together with ω-hydroxy acids (C12, C14 and C16). The neutral fraction from both young and old trees had a similar composition containing alkyl esters (7%, C24–C66), estolides (90%, MW 566-ca 1500), nonacosan-10-ol (2%) and the heptacosane and nonacosane diols (1%). During growth and maturation of P. radiata, the nonacosan-10-ol content of the needle wax decreases while the proportion of estolides and diterpene acids increases, the latter probably being located around the stomatal pore.  相似文献

Leaf waxes from spring wheat varieties Selkirk and Manitou contain hydrocarbons (6%, 10%), long chain esters (14%, 13%), free acids (5%, 8%), free alcohols (19%, 21%), β-diketone (16%, 20%), hydroxy β-diketones (8%, 10%), unidentified gum (29%, 16.5%) and minor amounts of diol diesters, glycerides and aldehydes. The major hydrocarbon is nonacosane and major esters are octacosyl esters of C14–C32 acids but C20 and C22 alcohol esters of trans 2-docosenoic and tetracosenoic acids are also present (Selkirk 20%, Manitou 10% of total esters). Previously unknown trans 2-docosen-1-ol is present as an ester (Selkirk 5%, Manitou 2.5% of total esters). Free acids are C14–C32 acids and trans 2-docosenoic and tetracosenoic acids (Selkirk 30%, Manitou 9% of free acids). Octacosanol is the principal free alcohol. Hentriacontane-14,16-dione is the β-diketone and the hydroxy β-diketones are a 1:1 mixture of 8- and 9- hydroxyhentriacontane-14,16-diones.  相似文献

Aliphatic alcohols including methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, npropyl, isobutyl, nbutyl, isoamyl, namyl and hexyl alcohol were converted to their acetate, propionate, nbutyrate, isovalerate and caproate esters during the incubation with strawberry fruit tissue. Formate, isobutyrate and n-valerate esters were formed when alcohols were incubated together with these fatty acids and strawberry.

Seventy esters were formed from various combinations of alcohols and acids by means of incubation with strawberry.

The oxidizing activity of CYP109B1 from Bacillus subtilis was reconstituted in vitro with various artificial redox proteins including putidaredoxin reductase and putidaredoxin from Pseudomonas putida, truncated bovine adrenodoxin reductase and adrenodoxin, flavodoxin reductase and flavodoxin from Escherichia coli, and two flavodoxins from B. subtilis (YkuN and YkuP). Binding and oxidation of a broad range of chemically different substrates (fatty acids, n-alkanes, primary n-alcohols, terpenoids like (+)-valencene, α- and β-ionone, and the steroid testosterone) were investigated. CYP109B1was found to oxidize saturated fatty acids (conversion up to 99%) and their methyl and ethyl esters (conversion up to 80%) at subterminal positions with a preference for the carbon atoms C11 and C12 counted from the carboxyl group. For the hydroxylation of primary n-alcohols, the ω?2 position was preferred. n-Alkanes were not accepted as substrates by CYP109B1. Regioselective hydroxylation of terpenoids α-ionone (~70% conversion) and β-ionone (~ 91% conversion) yielded the allylic alcohols 3-hydroxy-α-ionone and 4-hydroxy-β-ionone, respectively. Furthermore, indole was demonstrated to inhibit fatty acid oxidation.  相似文献

The enantioselectivity of the transesterification of the 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl esters of 2-(substituted phenoxy)propanoic acids, as catalyzed by the lipase from Carica papaya, was greatly improved by using long-chain ethers, such as di-n-hexyl ether, as solvents instead of the conventional diisopropyl ether. Thus, for example, the E value was enhanced from 21 [in diisopropyl ether (0.8 ml)] to 57 [in di-n-hexyl ether (0.8 ml)] in the reaction of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl(RS)-2-phenoxypropanoate (0.1 mmol) with methanol (0.4 mmol) in the presence of the plant lipase preparation (10 mg); it was also improved from 13 (in diisopropyl ether) to 44 (in di-n-hexyl ether) in the reaction of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl(RS)-2-(2-chlorophenoxy)propanoate with methanol under the same reaction conditions.  相似文献

The epicuticular waxes of the two sorghum varieties Alliance A and SD 102 have been analyzed, after separation of the leaf blades from the sheaths. The major constituents were found to be free fatty acids but small amounts of esters, aldehydes, alcohols, n-alkanes and sterols were also detected. Epoxides of methyl esters of elaidic and oleic acids were allowed to react with methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, iso-propanol and n-butanol, in the presence of iodine, to give the corresponding alkoxyhydroxy methyl esters. Ethyl elaidate epoxide gave a hydroxymethoxy methyl ester when treated with boron trifluoride in methanol but the ethyl ester group was not attacked with iodine as catalyst. Mass spectra of the alkoxyhydroxy esters contained strong peaks which demonstrated the location in the chain of the original epoxide ring. Iodine also catalysed the addition of water to methyl elaidate or oleate, giving erythro- and threo-9,10-dihydroxyoctadecanoates, respectively. The alkoxyhydroxy esters were quantitatively converted to t-butyldimethylsilyl ethers by reaction with t-butyldimethylchlorosilane/imidazole/dimethylformamide reagent at 100°C but the dihydroxyoctadecanoates were not completely derivatised. Mass spectra of all the t-butyldimethylsilyl ether derivatives contained intense fragments allowing the molecular weights and the positions of the ether functions to be easily determined.  相似文献

The presence of (n ? 7) unsaturated alcohols and (n ? 7) monoenoic fatty acids in the wax esters of the Harderian gland of rats was established by gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry. The main components are the C24:1(n ? 7) alcohol and C20:1(n ? 7) fatty acid. It is suggested that desaturation in (n ? 7) position, nearly without exception, must be caused by a special system of desaturation and/or chain elongation.  相似文献
