Five species of Oochoristica, Oochoristica osheroffi, Oochoristica gracewileyae, Oochoristica whitentoni, and 2 new species described herein have strobilae longer than 200 mm, many secondary ovarian lobes, and testes extending anteriorly to midovarian level. A combination of 3 characters distinguishes the 5 species from each other. Oochoristica osheroffi has an average of 68 testes per proglottid, ovarian lobes wider than long, and osmoregulatory canals not forming an anastomosing plexus; O. gracewileyae has an average of 113 testes per proglottid, ovarian lobes longer than wide, and osmoregulatory canals not forming an anastomosing plexus; O. whitentoni has an average of 125 testes per proglottid, ovarian lobes wider than long, and osmoregulatory canals forming an anastomosing plexus; a new species in Ctenosaura similis from Costa Rica has an average of 62 testes per proglottid, ovarian lobes longer than wide, and osmoregulatory canals forming an anastomosing plexus; and a new species in Ctenosaura pectinata from Mexico has an average of 122 testes per progottid, ovarian lobes longer than wide, and osmoregulatory canals forming an anastomosing plexus. Oochoristica gracewileyae differs from the other 4 species by having genital pores 10-15% rather than 25-35% of proglottid length from the anterior end and by having convoluted rather than straight or sinuous transverse osmoregulatory canals. The new species from Mexico differs from the other 4 species and apparently from all described species of Oochoristica thus far by possessing darkly staining granules throughout the parenchyma of the scolex.  相似文献

The new species Diploproctodaeum arothroni (Lepocreadiidae: Diploproctodaeinae) is described from the tetraodontid fish Arothron hispidus from Fiji. It differs from its closest relatives, D. hakofugu, D. oviforme and D. momoaafata, in having 42–54 ovarian lobes, a vitellarium reaching to the pharynx and tegumental spination reaching almost to the posterior extremity. A revised key to the 17 recognised species of Diploproctodaeum is given.  相似文献

A new caryophyllidean cestode is described from barbs Puntius spp. (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae), with P. sophore (Hamilton) as its type-host, in the Ganges and Brahmaputra river basins in India and Bangladesh, and a new genus, Lobulovarium n. g., is proposed to accommodate it. The genus belongs to the Lytocestidae because its vitelline follicles are situated in the cortex. It is typified by: (i) a peculiar ovary, which is roughly H-shaped, but with asymmetrical, irregular lobes on its ventral and dorsal sides; (ii) an extensive vitellarium formed by numerous vitelline follicles scattered throughout the cortex; (iii) a long, conical postovarian part of the body with numerous vitelline follicles; (iv) a broadly digitate scolex with a slightly protrusible central cone; (v) a single gonopore (male and female genital ducts open via a single pore and a common genital atrium is absent); and (vi) a small number of testes (< 60). Molecular data (partial sequences of the lsrDNA) indicate that Lobulovarium longiovatum n. sp. belongs among the most basal caryophyllidean cestodes, being unrelated to species from siluriform catfishes in the Indomalayan region. Paracaryophyllaeus osteobramensis (Gupta & Sinha, 1984) Hafeezullah, 1993 (syn. Pliovitellaria osteobramensis Gupta & Sinha, 1984) from another cyprinid fish, Osteobrama cotio (Hamilton), in Uttar Pradesh, India, is tentatively transferred to Lobulovarium as L. osteobramense (Gupta & Sinha, 1984) n. comb. It differs from L. longiovatum by having much smaller eggs (length <50 μm versus >90 μm in L. longiovatum), which are spherical (length/width ratio 1:1 versus 2.5-3:1 in the new species), and the presence of vitelline follicles alongside the ovarian lobes (almost completely absent in L. longiovatum).  相似文献

Nanocnide zhejiangensis X.F. Jin & Y.F. Lu, a new species of Urticaceae from Zhejiang, east China, is described with illustrations. The new species is morphologically similar to Nanocnide japonica in having staminate inflorescence longer than leaves, but differs by having glabrous stems, petioles, peduncles and abaxial leaf surfaces, glabrous perianth lobes of staminate flowers, dorsally glabrous perianth lobes of pistillate flowers, and acuminate or solitary spinose–setaceous at the apex. Analysis based on ITS, atpF–H, atpB–rbcL and trnL–F sequences also demonstrate that Nanocnide japonica is the closest extant relative to the new species.  相似文献

Anindobothrium n. gen. is proposed to accommodate Caulobothrium anacolum inhabiting Himantura schmardae from Colombia, and 2 new species, one inhabiting Potamotrygon orbigny in Brazil and the other inhabiting Paratrygon aereiba in Venezuela. Members of the new genus resemble members of Pararhinebothroides, Rhinebothroides, and Anthocephalum by having bothridia with poorly differentiated apical suckers and vasa deferentia expanded into external seminal vesicles. It further resembles Pararhinebothroides, Rhinebothroides, and Anthocephalum cairae by having vas deferens inserted near the poral rather than aporal end of the cirrus sac. The 3 species assigned to the new genus form an apparent monophyletic group, based on the possession of 3 putative synapomorphies: (1) genital pores in the anterior 1/4 of the proglottid, a trait that is unusual, but not unique, among phyllobothriids; (2) anteroventral ovarian lobes converging to the center of the proglottid, a character not previously reported for phyllobothriids; and (3) ovarian lobes comprising a loose network of digitiform processes.  相似文献

Aristolochia bhamoensis from Myanmar is here described and illustrated. This new species is morphologically similar to A. faviogonzalezii (confined to northern Vietnam) and A. cathcartii (growing in the Himalayan region) but is distinguished from the latter two species by having a cream‐white upper part of the perianth tube, with visible purple ridges, a trumpet‐shaped limb, 5.0–5.5 cm diameter, inner surface of limb lobes densely covered with dark‐purple bristles, a nearly circular mouth, 3.2–3.5 cm wide, upper half of throat being dark‐purple to blackish, without striations or dots, and lower half purple, with conspicuous white striation. Morphological characters such as a 3‐lobed gynostemium and a 3‐lobed limb support a placement of the new species in the subgenus Siphisia. A diagnostic key is provided to the seven Siphisia species known from Myanmar.  相似文献
